The pain was indescribable, as blood seeped from the wound in his chest, the Blade of Evil's Bane boiled his blackened blood. His breaths were ragged, the sword crushing both of his lines against his ribs.

The pain fueled the hatred in his mind. The voices screamed those same voices who emerged when he was forced to watch the genocide of his people as his execution was prepared. The voices that drowned out the screams of his sisters. The voices that bellowed as he watched his daughters die.The voices that drowned it all out as he watched his lovers taken away from him.

He could feel the spirit that cursed him howl in agony. The same spirit that haunted his youth, tainting him. If it were not for the demon inside, he wouldn't have done it. He wouldn't have killed the innocent, murdered for pleasure, he wouldn't have let us people down this path.

He clenched his teeth as he fought the demon inside, fought for a moment of clarity before death.

He struggled to keep his eyes from rolling back, he struggled to stay conscious. He caught sight of them, thee Hero and Princess of this age. Just children. He felt tears well up. He was a hypocrite. He swore vengeance after the death of his people and family, but he delivered the same fate upon the children before him.

"I-I'm sorry." He choked out over the blood welling in his lungs and tears in his eyes.

The demon inside roared in anger.

"THEY ARE THE ENEMY! DO NOT BEG FORGIVENESS!"

"You... I've taken your childhood away. I've f-forced you to become distant and grow up too fast." He said as he felt the plate armor weigh him down.

His mind was silent as he forsook his pride and let it all out.

"Since I was a young man, my mind has been clouded, but now I can think. No longer does the demon inside reign." He felt tears well up as he reverted to the young man he once was, free of the demon's influence. "The atrocities I've committed, the people I've killed, and the husks I've left behind. I beg you to forgive me. I offer no excuse, clarity has alerted me to my sins. I know I'm doomed, but forgive me for I have been but a puppet for the demon who curses us all!" He exclaimed.

He looked upon the hero. "You resemble him, the man who exposed my plot and later led Hyrule's armies against me. Hero, when you meet me in the next life, save me from the demon.

He gazed upon the Princess. "I see her in your eyes. She ensnared me and took me to the Arbiter's grounds. I ask you the same favor as the Hero, save me."

"I've taken your friend from you, I had no right."

He turned away from the castle and faced southwest, his legs barely able to support him. He felt the breeze on his face. The same wind that killed his people by the dozens was but a mere breeze in the plains of Goddess's chosen land.

He chuckled as his eyes closed for the last time. The smile spurred by his sudden bout of clarity enduring as his life faded with his last breath.

He remained standing, the Sword that Seals the Darkness still impaled through his chest. The wind that once tormented him was silent as if paying its respects to a friend long gone.
