I want to thank everyone over the last few months who have given me time with my mum, if you didn't know she sadly passed away on the 18th of Aug after another visit to the hospital.

But even through all of that I want to put this chapter out for you

-.-

Molly went over everything that Charles had said and when he had gone to see his own superiors the next day he told them what had gone on and that he wanted to leave the Army and find other things that he could do that wouldn't put his own life and family on the line.

She knew that it had been the hardest decision he had ever made because he loved what he done but he knew that it was best for everyone involved. He wasn't sure what they would do to him but more than anything he wanted to stay with his family.

While they were on the drive to the hospital to see how Fingers and Brains were doing she kept her eyes on the window and then said "Did you mean it?"

"Mean what?" he asked and looked over at her for a moment before putting his eyes back on the road, the last thing he wanted to do was get in trouble with the law for not having his eyes on the road.

Molly finally moved her eyes from the window and looked over at the side of his face "That you wanted to get married again"

"Have you ever known me to lie?" Charles asked.

"Never"

"Well then there we go, you got your answer, I would never joke about wanting to get remarried to you Molly" Charles had tried everything he could to get her back and now that he had her here he wasn't going to let anyone get in the way of that. "But I don't want to pressure you if you don't want to"

Molly sighed before looking front "I want to, more than anything, but it's your mum that I'm worried about" she might as well be honest that Pam was actually the person that had pushed them apart and it felt like that's what she wanted to do again and if they were to get married then what was going to happen this time? Pam would have to either accept her or stay away from all three of them and she didn't like the thought of Charles not having his mother in his life.

"Trust me my mother isn't going to be coming between us again but I will sit down with her and have a chat and in the end the choice will be hers, she can either accept you and apologise for everything that she's put you through or she can stay the hell away from us" Charles wasn't sure which his mother would do but if she didn't want to be part of his life then that's up to her.

-.-

They arrived at the hospital and found out that Fingers was awake too and Molly could see the huge relief on his face but whether they would be okay was another thing because they still had a long way to go.

Charles looked in through the window of Brains' room and he was sat up in bed and was talking to his family but with Fingers it was a different story because he was still coming around properly but at least he was awake. He was allowed in to see Brains while his family went to the canteen and had a moment to themselves. He sat down in the chair that the mother had vacated.

"Morning Bossman" Brains said with a smile on his face. "I've been told that Fingers is in here too, is he alright?"

Charles watched him, Brains was in his own sticky spot and here he was asking if his friend was okay. "Has no one told you?" and he saw him tense up and get a worried look on his face "Looks like you're going to be lumbered with him for a little bit longer; he's awake"

Brains felt the relief flood through him, either that or it was the good stuff that they were giving him either way he was glad that Fingers was awake.

"Brains, I'm so sorry for what happened back in Syria, I've decided to step down from the Army"

"But.. why? You're a great boss and anyone would be lucky to be under your wing"

"It's time plus I've got a family that needs me" he looked over at the window and while Molly had been there before she was now gone and no doubt was spending her time with Fingers. Charles looked back at Brains "But I promise you that I will make sure that they give me what I deserve and if that's time in a jail then I will do it"

"It's not going to be the same without you, Boss"

"I hope not because if it is then they've not learned anything, and if you stay on then you're a fine soldier, Brains, and if you tell anyone that I will make sure to send Special Forces after you"

Brains laughed softly at that "I will make sure to rub that in to Fingers" he made sure to promise that. "What about Molly, will she stay on?"

"I hope so, she's a damn good medic and she should have all the experience that she wanted when she first joined up but it's Molly; who really knows what is going on in her head sometimes" Charles really did hope that she stayed on because it would be good for her to get as much experience under her belt.

"Even after Sierra Leone?"

"Even after that, she will need some help with that but she will be able to do anything she wants"

The two sat and chatted for a while and then after Charles left Brains to get some rest even though he had been resting for a while. He found Molly out side of Fingers' room and the two of them watched as he came around and with his family there he knew that he was in the best care that he could be. It made Charles feel a bit jealous because that's how a mother should be, not the one that keeps butting in to his life and trying to put distance between him and his wife.

"Do you want to go?" Charles asked Molly.

She kept her eyes on the room and shook her head. "Not yet, I just want to make sure that he's okay after all"

The two of them sat outside of Fingers' room for a while after that.

It was a while later when Molly was able to slip in to Fingers' room and let him know that she was there and to tell him that she would speak to him when he's fully awake and with that Molly left the room and going back to Charles as there wasn't much she could do.

"Do you want to go home now?" Charles asked her.

"Yeah, but I want to make sure that I'm back tomorrow" Molly wanted to make sure that her friend was okay and if that meant sitting in the room with him tomorrow then so be it.

Charles held out his hand and she slipped hers in to his, it was warm, familiar, safe.

They walked out of the hospital and back to the car and it was on the drive back home that Molly said "I would accept if you asked again" she said and then looked over at him with a soft smile. "If you wanted to ask again that is"

"I'll keep that in mind next time"

Charles definitely was going to ask her to marry him again because in the end she was the only one that he wanted. She was his life, and the sooner he could make her his wife again the better because they had been without each other for too long.
