Author's Note:
Hello everyone who has been following my fanfic. As everyone can tell, I was on a VERY LONG hiatus. I want to thank everyone who has followed and favorited my work over these years. It's hard for me to believe that it has been 6 years since I've uploaded my first chapter. I still remember it like it was yesterday; I was a 14 year old weirdo that' "not-like-the-other-girls" who just entered high school. I was so ambitious; I wanted to upload as often as I could and write more and more fanfics that others could enjoy as much as I do. My writing was so rough, filled with poor grammar and spelling errors, but I was so passionate. Somewhere along the way, family and other personal matters took my passion away. I was no longer motivated to write like I was before. Hell, I didn't have any passion to do anything; I was depressed. I finally got myself to post one last chapter that I had finished in 2017 and I thought I would never be able to post again. I am so sorry to everyone who was generous enough to invest their time in my fanfic for me to let everyone down like that.
I am now in a much better place; I finally found my lost passion thanks to everyone. After all this time, I finally got up the courage to look up my stories and read through all your wonderful reviews. I felt so ashamed that I let all of you guys down. All of your kind and generous reviews finally gave me the courage to write again. I will be uploading as much as I can from now. I will start by updating all of the chapters I've written; I realized after all this time that there were so many things that I wanted to touch on that I didn't write about. I mean, what's the point about writing that they're childhood friends if you don't actually write about their childhood moments, right? I will be leaving up all of the chapters that I had already written, though; they serve as a reminder of where I began, flaws and all. I hope that everyone can continue to support my fanfic by following, favoriting, and, most importantly, reviewing my work. Always remember that your generous reviews were what brought me out of my hiatus and had brought a new fire in me to continue with this until the end. Look forward to my first chapter back. I should be uploading it in about 1-2 weeks and, from then on, I should upload once every 1-3 weeks (at least once a month) or so depending on my college schedule. I will be more diligent letting everyone know when I will have a short hiatus depending on exams, projects due, etc. Again, THANK YOU! I hope you all will continue to enjoy my work!
Ps. I will be changing my username to MissTurleGurl. It's my way to signify the change in myself. Please continue to follow me even after this!
Mai's P.O.V:
"Hi! My name is Mai Taniyama, what's yours?" I asked in fluent japanese. The boy had beautiful abyss blue eyes and hair as black as night; he wore a very shocked look on that beautifully pale face.
"I don't have a name. They just call me E.C and my brother A.J so that they could differentiate us and it's convenient for answering questions in class" The said with a cold monotone. He turned over his identical twin who was chatting away with some girl; their eyes met for a brief moment before E.C turned back to me. Their auras shifted for that brief moment; I can tell that they're both very special. "Go talk to him," he nodded cooly to his brother, "your brain has not developed past a single celled organism and, therefore, you would be unable to hold a conversation with me anyways." He stated as he picked up a book 'The Study of Poltergeists: Misdirected and Untrained Psychokinesis in Young Children' by Kotaro Taniyama, who is my father, began to read. His head suddenly snapped up at me with an inquisitive look in his eyes,"Taniyama?" he whispered and I smiled
"For your information, I am on the formal operational stage of Piaget's stages of cognitive development." I couldn't contain my smile. I finally found someone who was interested in parapsychology too.
"E.C, you should be more kind to other people or you'll never make friends." E.C's twin chidded as he strolled over to us. "I'm A.J nice to meet you, and this is my twin brother E.C." He introduced himself in a gentlemanly way, extending his hand to shake mine. I shook his hand carefully, trying to get a better read on him. I assume he is the more outwardly nicer twin while the other is more tsundere. A.J is well liked by everyone, especially the girl, because some of them started to glare at me; however, E.C likes to keep to himself. E.C's aura was so mysteriously beautiful; it contained a chaos of violet, gold, red. I was so sure from the amount of violet in his aura that he had latent psychokinesis abilities and maybe some ESP from the gold and scarlet that I could see. A.J's aura was just as chaotic as E.C's, probably since they're twins, but is also very similar to mine as well in their intense colors. A.J's aura shone in brilliant scarlet and gold.
"E.C you have a pretty aura and A.J you have the same one as me," I observed while they stared at me like I had grown two heads "and it's nice to meet you both." I could o nly smile while they just kept on staring. I think I'm going to love this place after all; I finally won't be alone any more.
"Are you the daughter of Kotaro Taniyama?" E.C asked in his monotone voice, except this time he sounded genuinely curious. I only smiled and smiled, waiting for my silent answer to register.
It's disappointing that I'm only here until they inform Uncle Martin and Auntie Luella about my situation. Maybe they can adopt these two as well? I need to ask when he comes. "When I leave, will you two come with me?" I asked hopeful, but I think they would like to come with me. "My god father, er- Uncle Martin should be coming for me soon. I think he and Auntie Luella would take you guys in and I think that you would like them." I rambled. "If you are interested in parapsychology you should know them, uncle is Martin Davis, you know the famous researcher," I said with a hopeful smile "so will you two come with me?" asked again trying my best not to sound pushy. I really don't know what I would do if I just left these two here; they have so much potential and I would hate to leave them here, E.C especially needs to control his P.K.
"You really think we could go with you?" A.J asked with an eager smile while E.C just looked star-struck as he stared at someone behind me, so I turned around and saw Uncle Martin.
"Martin ouji-tan!" I had gotten so comfortable speaking Japanese with those brothers that I had forgotten that were still in the States. "Uncle Martin!" I corrected myself in English as I ran over and nearly tackled him. I was so ecstatic to see Uncle Martin. Even if this is only my third day here and my first time out of my room, I'm so happy that I'm getting out of here.
"Now, how has my little girl been? Has she been a good girl or has been a bad girl? Hmmmm?" He teased as he picked me up and spun me around.
"Martin! Don't do that to her!" a woman chided as she walked up to us, it was Auntie Luella. "Hello Mai, how have you been?" She asked with a warm smile as she always does.
"Auntie Luella!" I was about to pounce on her when I just remembered that uncle was still holding me. I pat him on the arm to signal him to let me down, and when he did, I jumped on Auntie Luella and nearly knocked her down, too.
"Mai has been a good girl and has been waiting pai- patiently," I stuttered in my excitement, "and I even made two friends," I turned around while Auntie was still holding me and pointed to A.J and E.C. "They are super smart and they even know about you and daddy, so can we take them with us, Auntie Luella, pretty please?" I begged with my best puppy dog eyes. Everything we've been saying up to this point was in English so there were tons of girls eying us waiting to hear their answer, waiting to hear whether or not their Prince A.J would be taken away.
"Well, young lad, what are you reading there?" He asked E.C."'The Study of Poltergeists: Misdirected and Untrained Psychokinesis in Young Children' you have a very good taste in books. Mai told me you are interested in parapsychology. You seem to be leaking a lot of energy and if you come with me, I could teach you how to control it," Uncle Martin needs to work on his persuasive skills, "so are you willing to become my son?"
"Me and A.J can't be separated and I'm not the best person to be around, are you sure you want me?" E.C asked cautiously, still unsure if Uncle Martin would actually take him in.
"E.C, Uncle Martin would ever separate people from their family," I said with a smile "so, will you come home with me?" asked shyly as I buried my face in Auntie Luella's neck, about to die of embarrassment as I heard Uncle Martin chuckle at my embarrassment . I turned around to see E.C smirking like the Cheshire cat and A.J smiling with a suggestive look in his eyes which made me blush even harder. I tried to change the subject so I said, "So, Auntie Luella, we can take them with us right?"
"Of course sweetie as long as they say yes" she confirmed. Auntie Luella turned to the boys, "As Mai had asked, are you young lads willing to become my son and come home with us?" she asked with me still in her arms.
"As long as we get to stay together, I'll come with you." A.J said with a giddy smile and hugged E.C. "Hey E.C, we'll finally have a place we can call home." He squealed in excitement.
"How's this E.C's new name will be Oliver and A.J's new name will be Eugene?" Uncle asked with a smile "and from now on, we will be a family." Uncle left to do some paperwork while we went to pack.
"Who are you to take A.J away from us?" some snotty girls said as I walked into my 'room' to get my things. You know sometimes it's people like this that makes me hate the world so much.
I just sigh and said "First off, I'm not taking anyone away from anybody. Secondly, what nonsense are you speaking of?" I asked with a sly smile as I knew these girls were jealous.
"Don't act all high and mighty just because you're from a rich family and everything! You shouldn't get ahead of yourself; A.J would never like an ugly girl like you!" she yelled as I put the last of my things into my bag, which isn't much since I kept mother's key, the one from our old house, and I never once let it out of my grasp.
Anyhow, I just grabbed my bag and walked out the door with those idiots tailing me so I just walked off to the boy's room with a smile and said "Naru, Gene are y'all ready, uncle and auntie are just about ready to go and we need to catch our plane!"
"We're right here. No need to yell." Naru said flatly, "We are ready to go now." He and Gene held up the suitcases to show me they're all packed.
"Come on!" I hurried in a hushed whisper "I don't like it when people falsely accuse me of a supposed crime that I didn't commit, especially those girls, since they are accusing me of stealing you two from them." I smiled and pulled the two along with me as I bobbed down the stairs, and there we went out the door and saw Uncle Martin and Auntie Luella waiting for us with a smile next to the car.
By the time we were on the plane heading for England, they'd already started calling each other 'Naru' and 'Gene'. I finally found people with the same interests as me and they can speak japanese with me too! I'm so happy that I will finally have a family again, especially after what happened to mom. I finally felt whole again, and, with that thought, I fell asleep on Naru's shoulder.
Naru's P.O.V:
It's strange; no one has ever made me feel wanted before. I mean, yes, Gene cared a lot about me, but it's different with her though. I was really happy to talk with her and-
Hey Noll, I know you're happy that a girl flocked up to you for the first time but keep it down, remember I can hear you. My trains of thoughts were rudely interrupted by my idiot brother who was now staring at me and Mai with a weird look on his face.
What I think is none of your business. Now stay the hell out of my head! I ordered through our telepathic connection. Both of us never really knew how it worked; we were just always like this. I hope that there would be more times like these, just pure bliss. On second thought, maybe not, with Gene here, it's more like pure annoyance.
