It has been a few hours since Gwen dumped Duncan. Gwen is unable to sleep. She is still thinking about Duncan's actions.
Gwen (in her mind): "I can't sleep because I'm still not over Duncan's behavior." "It's not that I still like him. It's just I'm so angry at him for his actions." "Not only was he obsessed with Courtney. He kissed me just to make Courtney jealous." He used me in that moment." "This makes me wonder if our relationship was real." "Did he ever like me? Did he only date me just so he could escape from Courtney? Was I just a tool he used to make Courtney jealous?" "I just can't believe he would do this to me."
"Duncan should have just broken up with me. It would have been better if he did that, instead of making me feel like crap." "What he did was very insensitive." "He can try to win Courtney back, but she knows better than to get back together with him. She's too good for him anyway."
"I wonder if he is obsessing over Courtney right now." He probably is." "I can't believe I dated him. He is nothing, but an insensitive and selfish jerk, and I am glad I am done with him." "This was the first and last time I ever dated a bad boy again."
"You know what? Calm down Gwen." "Your relationship was already declining. Even if he didn't get obsessed with Courtney, you would have broken up with him at some point." "If anything, Duncan's obsession did you a favor because you broke up wit him sooner than you would have. Now, you don't have to worry about dragging this relationship on for any longer."
"Another positive thing about his obsession is that this could help you mend your friendship with Courtney." "Now, that you ended things with him, Courtney may me more willing to forgive you and be your friend again. So, Duncan's crazy obsession is doing you more favors than you think." "No point wasting your anger on Duncan. You just just forget about him, and focus on your goal, which is mending your friendship with Courtney."
Gwen smiles and then yawns.
Gwen: "Well, I better get some sleep. Tomorrow is a new day. Hopefully I can now finally mend my friendship with Courtney."
Gwen falls asleep peacefully.
