Love Struck Delusion
Chapter 295 - See the truth.
Marcus's POV.
Looking over to Roslin as he stopped Raptor's attack, I listened as he ordered the man.
"Stop."
Raptor was lost as to who this man was that just stopped him. I saw it in his eyes as he asked with still some anger left to his voice.
"Who the hell are you?"
I had to intervene. I knew Roslin well enough to know this could get bad.
"Damn it Roslin! I told you I'd handle this!"
Raptor's focus shifted back to me as Roslin quickly questioned my last statement.
"Handle this? You let your guard down Marcus. Now look at you."
I began to snarl as Roslin never let his eyes leave Raptor's. With his wrist still held, Roslin stated to Raptor but with a tone matching his anger.
"You."
Raptor proceeded to try and free his hand by yanking downward in hopes of breaking the grip Roslin had over him. Jumping back to my feet I ordered Roslin.
"Let him go!"
Roslin obeyed and released Raptor's arm. Pushing the hedgehog back a foot to create space, I told my old master.
"Everything is cool. He got it out of his system. Right Raptor?"
Raptor was unsure of what to do in this situation. I could only try and keep things from getting any worse now that Roslin was involved. With his anger shifted back to me Roslin replied.
"That's not the point. If you did that kind of thing to me back when you were my demi, I'd have slit your throat."
Raptor widened his eyes as Roslin picked up instantly on his realization and asked him aggressively.
"What's wrong? You look scared all the sudden. You gonna try and hit me like you did him? Come on…..answer!"
Raptor quickly lost that look and replied after a few seconds.
"If he wasn't standing between us I'd….?"
Roslin phased right through me to directly force Raptor to shut off his voice. I widened my eyes as he then begged him.
"You'd do what? I'd like you to try it. Here."
Roslin was in the flesh. I could tell just from knowing him, but Raptor could also as he was roughly pushed by his shoulder with one hand.
"I'm right here. No tricks. Come on. Show me what you got, tough guy."
Raptor went to swing but I couldn't just stand around and watch this get any worse. So I made a leap forward and phased through Roslin in the process. Raptor's intent to harm was denied once again as I took him into a full hug and ran him back a few feet to get away from my enraged master.
The whole time we went backwards I ordered him.
"Relax! This isn't a fight you want to pick! Trust me!"
Raptor was lost as Roslin went on to question me with some disgust for my actions.
"What the hell is wrong with you Marcus? You should have let him. I would have taken my time."
Raptor was growling and about to speak. So I ordered him next with a direct command to stop that from happening.
"Shut your mouth!"
It was clear this was getting out of hand, but I still accomplished my goal of making sure a real fight didn't get started. Disconnecting myself from Raptor, I turned to look back at Roslin. With my breath coming back to me, I said to him.
"He's my problem. Not yours. I let my guard down because I trust him. I know why you're mad at him but you know better than anyone why he lost his temper. So do me a favor Roslin and restrain yourself. This doesn't need to get any worse."
The echidna was not used to me being at all on the protective side. But regardless he knew I was right. So I just nodded my head as he took a moment to look away and calm down. Raptor on the other hand asked me.
"What the hell is going on? Who is this guy Marcus?"
Looking him right in the eyes, I hesitated at telling him. We talked about this before, but the situation was now current and I was worried. However Roslin was restrained enough to tell him personally.
"I was the god in charge of this realm before Marcus took over. He's my demi."
Raptor did his best to accept that as he calmed the rest of himself down. As for myself, I looked back at Roslin to see he was clearly still ticked off. So keeping myself at the ready I told him.
"Raptor's my friend. We're cool. Trust me. Just let me explain what's going on to him. Okay?"
Roslin gave me a long sigh and after he saw my confidence in the situation he asked.
"Are you sure about that?"
Looking back at Raptor to beg him with my eyes to say something, I held my breath until he told Roslin back calmly.
"We're cool. I just lost my temper. I'm sorry Marcus. Are you good?"
Thank god he was smart enough to take a hint and help me fix this. The last person we want getting mad is Roslin. Nodding my head towards the hedgehog, I replied.
"I'm good. Let's just move on from this and get back to what we were discussing."
I reached down to rub my stomach from there. Raptor had his eyes locked on Roslin as I slowly reapproached his side. With his eyes coming back over to mine, I told him.
"I needed you to see what could have been. You need to know everything. All the good that could have come from it and all the bad."
"Why though?" He asked me as Roslin jumped in to reply bluntly.
"He wants you to take control and become a god Raptor. In order to become one the role involves knowing and understanding just exactly who you are and what you've done with your mortal life. We don't care how you feel now. It doesn't matter. Your mind needs to be open. It needs to expand past the point of a mere mortals'. You need to know and accept all the things that have happened to you."
"I think I have a pretty good idea on how I feel about those things." Raptor replied as Roslin quickly questioned.
"Do you? Do you know about Alicia? Do you know what she did behind your back? What about Julie?"
I felt my heart drop when Roslin brought it up. Raptor on the other hand, I saw the look in him change instantly. Roslin held his ground as it was clear the subject we were talking about just turned a very bad shade of red. I went to speak but was quickly ordered by my old master.
"Keep your mouth shut. Answer me now Raptor. Come on. Tell me how you feel?"
Raptor's eyes went red and immediately I ordered Raptor with a heavy tone.
"Don't listen to him! You look at me! Hey!" I slapped him gently on the face in hopes of getting his full attention, but Raptor clearly was more concerned with Roslin who was still waiting for his answer.
"You didn't know right? Marcus was going to ease you into the subject, but I don't care about how you feel personally."
"What are you talking about?" Raptor asked him with a continuous growl as I jumped back in to say.
"He's just trying to rile you up Raptor. Don't listen to him. Look at me. I'll tell you the truth. Just please look back over here and try to relax."
Raptor was extremely hard to get accustomed to if you were a new person. Roslin had no idea just what kind of man this dude was, but Raptor also didn't know a thing about Roslin. Roslin could kill him with a snap of his fingers if he wanted too. Which is why I decided to be as honest as possible from this point on now that the subject was out there.
Raptor's eyes went back to normal a few moments later. Once he was back where I needed him to be, his focus shifted over to me yet again and away from the echidna. I knew there was no way to really say this nicely so I just had to go for it.
"As a god you learn to understand everything around you. You can go back in time and relive memories. Good or bad. You can see every side to a story. You can come to see just who a person really is. In this case Raptor, I know everything there is to know about your past. Which includes both Alicia's and Julie's. I never met them no, but I know about them. It's my job to know people and what they do. Everything is connected and everyone has their secrets. In this case, Roslin is talking about theirs."
"They never had secrets Marcus." Raptor muttered back at me angrily as I quickly shook my head and replied.
"That you know of Raptor. But I can promise you; that much like yourself…...both of those women had things going on that they never wanted you to know about."
Raptor wasn't taking this well at all. I knew he would get mad pretty quick if they were even mentioned. Let alone accused of doing things. My plan was to prove it to him slowly, but Roslin had no patience for this man now that he felt like he was a piece of shit for attacking me out of his anger. All I could do was widen my eyes as he announced to Raptor confidently and with little care for his emotions afterwards.
"You're first wife Julie? She loved you sure, but you were never home thanks to the war and your obsessions. She needed a man to be in her life. Someone who could afford to be a part of her for more than just a few hours a week."
Raptor's anger came back almost instantly as Roslin was jumping well over the gun. I wanted to speak, but he was completely dominant in the conversation with just his sheer presence. Pointing directly at Raptor, he then said to him.
"You could barely satisfy someone like her. She needed more and she found that in your old friend Frost."
"You're lying." Raptor told him with a low growl as Roslin quickly snapped and replied.
"Am I!? Who are you to question me!?" When Roslin raised his voice I knew it attracted attention. Attention he couldn't know about.
Zeta and Pepper I felt had overheard that outburst and I knew they would be coming. With my eyes racing to the stairs and then back to Roslin, I shouted between their silence.
"I'll be right back!"
"Yeah…..go make yourself useful." Roslin ordered me as he was fully invested in ruining Raptor's life.
Zeta's POV.
Thanks to Raptor's intervention we stopped our fighting for probably two minutes. Yet it didn't solve my sister's problem with my joke for much longer than that. We were back at it, but this time I had her on her back and her hands on each side of her head. We were both breathing heavily and staring one another right in the eyes. With a smile coming to my face, I asked her.
"Are you done?"
She was still ticked off but thankfully just as tired as I was. Letting a low growl pass through her lips she replied.
"I guess."
"Good!" I shouted as I released my grip over her hands. She just laid there as I sat on her stomach.
Taking a few moments to breathe, I looked back down at her to be asked.
"You wanna get off me?"
Giving her a crooked smile, I replied while sitting up.
"If you weren't trying to kill me, I'd want to do a lot more than that."
"You're bad." She told me as I giggled and offered her my hand so she could stand. As she took my offer, we both felt our ears go off when we heard what sounded like yelling coming from downstairs. When she got up next to me, I asked her in confusion.
"Did you hear that? Was that him?"
Pepper and I were both lost as to what that could have been we heard. Molly however ran for the basement door which in return got both of us to take it more seriously. However the moment we took our first step I felt the rush of cold air go through me. Pepper felt what could only have been the very end of it and followed my head back as I then heard.
"It's alright."
I knew the voice instantly and when I turned around I felt my heart drop as Marcus could be seen standing at the other end of the couch from us. His eyes were locked onto mine as I tried to respond with any sense of direction.
"What are you doing here?"
The fox was clearly a bit unsure as to what to say ether. He looked like he was caught in an awkward moment. Pepper was just as confused as I was as to how and when he got there. Both of us were covered in equal uncertainty as he finally replied.
"I came to see Raptor."
"Then what the hell is going on down there?" I asked as he quickly urged us both with a smile.
"I can't really explain this to you right now. I just ask that you two stay right here with me. They'll be done soon."
"They?" Pepper questioned as I tried to make a move for the door. The second my feet moved Marcus moved with me. In no less than a second, I found him in front of my face and blocking the door. Molly began to bark at him as I listened to his plea.
"I can't let you go down there."
"Why?" I asked him desperately.
"I don't have time to explain this all to you Zeta. Just trust me and when it's over I'll….?" Ignoring his last sentence, I made a break for him. Pepper remained at my side as Macus could be heard saying from behind us as I grabbed the doorknob.
"I didn't want to do this."
When I heard that I went to look back at him to see what he was doing. All I saw were his eyes before my world went dark.
Marcus's POV.
It was instant. The three of them lost consciousness and together fell down. I remained right where I was and let out a small sigh as I was disappointed in the fact that I had to do that to them. But this was okay. Everything was still salvageable. Roslin didn't know to the extent of just how deep in the hole I was and I planned to keep it that way. Last thing I need is someone like him finding out just how open I've been with my existence to mortals.
With both the girls out, I decided it was best to lay them down somewhere other than the floor. Starting with Pepper, I moved her back to the couch. Molly too.
When I got my hands on Zeta I decided to put her back up in Raptor's room. As I got her down on the bed, I took a moment to look over her body.
"Hmmm." I hummed to myself as I could see the venom in her blood. It was different when compared to her sister's or even Raptor's. It seemed more spractic. I assume it's the reason she loses control over her emotions and her self control once it reaches a certain peak. Reaching out and placing my right hand on her chest, I focused on trying to fix that problem.
I had no clue why I was doing this. Maybe it was just because I felt like now that I knocked her out; I owed her something back in return. A way of apologizing. Something I'm not good at and for good reasons.
It took a few minutes. It was surprisingly easy once I got where I needed to be. Majority of the venom is housed in her heart. It's DNA based. Much like skin color. I can change skin color. So I can change this in theory. Once I was done, I took my hand away and looked at her calmly as she slept.
I had to get back downstairs. Who knows what else Roslin might have said to him.
