"Will, NO!"

The gunman turned around to face Will. Will thought if he's fast enough he could attack the gunman from the back and force him to relinquish his gun. But the gunman turned around just when Will almost reached him. The gunman pointed the gun at Will's head. Alicia's hysteric scream sounded far away, then…

BANG

Alicia woke up screaming, panting, sweating, heart racing, shaking, terrified. For a few seconds, she wasn't sure if this is the reality, or if the gunman is. She realized her face was covered with tears. She forced herself to calm down, and a few deep breaths seem to help.

"Just a bad dream. It's not true" she told herself as she poured a cup of water.

Probably from all the stress she had been enduring lately. It's been six months since she left – no, got kicked out – from Lockhart/Gardner and formed Florrick/Agos with Cary.

Will wasn't joking when he said he would make her life hell, because he had been trying so hard to find opportunities to go up against her in court. She fought back. She poached his clients. She won few cases. She smirked every time she beat him in court.

But deep down, there is no joy when winning. Deep down, no matter how many times she told herself that she doesn't care about Will anymore, she knows her heart is bleeding, overcast with shadow of sorrow. She had burned all the bridges between them, ruined everything beyond repair. She could push the tears back in the daytime, but at night she dreamed about Will very often, as if her brain knew just how much she missed him.

The gloomy weather certainly did not help to lift up her spirit. The sour mood continued through the whole morning, she blamed it on her exhaustion.

"Alicia, did you ask Mrs. Patterson to come at 3pm tomorrow? Aren't we supposed to meet up with Mr. Sweeny at that time?" Cary was looking at the schedule when he approached her desk.

Alicia's mind was far away, drowning in her own thoughts. She didn't even hear Cary.

"Alicia!" Cary looked at her with concern.

"Yes?" she suddenly woke up from her daydream and turned her attention back to Cary.

"Are you okay?"

"Yes, why?"

"I said, you double booked the clients tomorrow at 3pm." He showed her the schedule.

"Oh, sorry, my bad. I will ask Linda to change Mrs. Patterson's appointment time."

"Are you okay? You seem distracted the whole morning."

"Yes, I am fine."

But she is far from fine. She shook her head, then went to the bathroom to splash some water onto her face.

"Pull it together, Alicia. You have to go to court today." she told herself.

What if I bump into Will at court? What kind of mask do I have to put on in front of him?

She was very tired of it. It's been 6 months, and she started to wonder if Will's angry fire would ever diminish, and hate her any less.

"Just stop thinking of him for one day. Just one day to focus on work." She thought. She started to push his face to the back of her mind. Took a deep breath, and head out to court.
