Writing Prompt: Imagine getting back to the bunker from a formal dance in which you didn't get to slow dance with Dean. He turns on some romantic music, and leads you in a small dance, just the two of you.
Erin returned to the bunker in a huff. She had been invited to a very formal function that was suspected to be a very sophisticated and very well organized vampire nest. Erin had put Dean down as her plus one but he and Sam ended up being called on an emergency hunt that involved a hunter getting overwhelmed by a much larger pack of werewolves then what had been anticipated. She would've skipped out on the function but Erin had used her influence as a business owner to secure the invitation, so she had to go, and proof was needed for the current case they were working on.
Erin had made a trip back to Texas to pick up one of her formal dresses that she kept for important functions and parties that required her to dress up. The one she chose was a floor length sweetheart neckline ombre colored chiffon dress. It started at the top as a pale yellow and progressively grew darker into an orange so deep that it looked almost black, and when Erin wore it, it made her look as if she was wearing a flame. She did up her hair in a twist and let the rest flow down in a waterfall of curls. Then she added a touch of makeup that managed to make her eyes gleam like deep sapphires and Erin was proud of herself for being able to add a coat of nail polish to her fingers.
Erin dropped her purple clutch onto the closest table to her in the library and was about to kick her heels off when Sam came walking into the library looking worn out but at least he wasn't covered in blood and guts.
"Hey how did it go?" Sam asked when he saw Erin standing in the library.
"It went ok, couldn't really get the proof that we needed to expose whether or not the organization is being run by vampires or not," Erin sighed. "It would've been helpful if Dean had been there but we can always try again later. So any luck with the rescue?"
"Yeah we ended up clearing out the whole pack and managed to get the hunter patched up and going again," Sam sighed as he shook his head and ran a hand through his hair.
"That sounds like a lot more fun than my night. Well I'm glad the hunter was saved and you guys returned in one piece," Erin said as she looked Sam over again.
"Yeah," Sam said with a tired half laugh.
"So where is the royal dork anyway?" Erin asked as she could see just how tired Sam was from their trip.
"He's getting cleaned up, he should be done by now," Sam grinned at the mention of his brother being a dork and the change of subject.
"Good, well I will bid you goodnight Sam. You look like you could use some sleep," Erin smiled as she walked by him with a pat on his arm.
"Thank you, Erin, I'll do that," he said fondly. "By the way you look amazing, Dean's missing out."
"Thank you, Sam. Yes, he did miss out this time but there will be other chances," Erin smiled as she walked out of the library and down the hallway that led to the rooms. "Good night Sam."
"Good night Erin," Sam called back as he headed for the kitchen.
When Erin got to the room that she shared with Dean, she was surprised to see a rose taped to the door with a small note attached to it.
Erin, meet me in the room next to the Dean cave. Erin read as she took the rose off the door. "Well this is unexpected," she whispered to herself, as her curiosity peaked, and she continued on to the mentioned room. When she walked into the room, Erin was completely surprised by the sight before her, Dean was dressed in his only tux, that Erin helped him get, holding another rose and had the cutest apologetic look on his face that could melt Erin into a puddle.
"Hello stranger," Erin grinned at him as she walked up to Dean.
"Erin listen, I'm… " Dean started.
"Shhh…" Erin shushed him before he could finish his thought. "There is no need. I understand, I'm just happy knowing that you saved lives and you came back home. That's enough for me." Dean visibly relaxed, smiled, and gave Erin a big hug.
"Thank you Erin," he whispered into her ear. Erin hugged him back and just breathed him in. Once they stepped back, Dean leaned down and gave Erin a passionate kiss.
"Dean," Erin breathed as they came up for air.
"Dance with me?" he whispered against her lips. That put a big smile on Erin's face.
"Yes, I'll dance with you," Erin smiled as she leaned back into Dean's kiss. Music suddenly started to play and it was a song Erin never expected Dean to turn on but as he grabbed her hand and gave her a twirl. They gracefully danced around the room lost in each other's arms and enjoying the others company.
