Over the suburban condos near the city, the sun breaks through the horizon, shining its rays down the Pokemon. The Starly fly along with the Murkrow, cawing in the sky. The Bidoof snuggle with on another and scurry on the branches across the neighborhood. And a stray Glameow prowls the streets for a bite to eat. And it knows just where to get some.

A morning alarm's blaring becomes clear as her sight gains color. The sun's rays lighting her room – baring every shadow of each corner in a golden light as the sun rises. She stuffs her face back into her pillow before she gives her alarm one smack to silence.

She looks up from her pillow and reads the numbers on the watch. [5:30 AM]

After a few moments, she straightens her back and stretches her arms before getting out of her bed. Her ears are met with tweeting Fletchling that pass by the window and into the trees. Then, she fleets over to the window meeting another; The one that belonged to her neighbor.

He was here for just a week, and was welcomed with many of the Pokemon residents that already lived in the condo. The first time he saw them, he screamed because it was as though they were bloodied Pokemon left for dead. He screamed louder when they started to stampede through the door.

She giggles from the story everytime the image is brought in her thoughts.

Nurse Joy slips her feet into her morning sandals and walks to her window to let the air in. She glances at the complex just outside the window, hearing out for any screams coming from Karsten Kazuo, her neighbor.

But now that she realizes that today was a Saturday, something was missing.

"GAHHH!"

She glances around for the scream, then hears rushing footsteps inside Karsten's house. She peers through the glass to see a ruckus happening inside.

Karsten grunts from a Glameow's mangy claws as it pricks all over him. He haply stumbles in his room in an effort to grab the Glameow, but to no avail. He trips over himself and crashes to the floor, groaning from the pain and permitting the Glameow to scratch him.

Hearing the pain Karsten is in, Nurse Joy glances downward to grab a stick and raises the window pane. She peers through his window and looking at the ruckus happening inside. "Leena~! Stop bothering the nice man." She sweetly says before taking a box of Magikarp kibble with a bowl. "I have your kibble right here~"

Glameow stops scratching and hops off Karsten and scurries to the window and jumps across to Nurse Joy's room. Nurse Joy lets out a remarking giggle before she places a bowl of Magikarp kibble on the floor for Glameow to eat.

After another groan, Karsten sits up to rub the scratches down his neck.

"Are you alright, neighbor?" Nurse Joy asks, leaning out of her window to check on Karsten, noticing he sits on the floor. He looks at the floor, huffing as he is oblivious to her doe eyes.

"Somewhat." Karsten says before standing up. Nurse Joy can see that Glameow has scratched him up his neck and has pierced through his shirt and pajamas pants. "Also… Leena?"

She raises an eyebrow at his concern for the Glameow's name.

"She just responds to the name better." Nurse Joy answers before she grows restless at Karsten's state. "Those scratches must sting. Let me disinfect those for you."

"No need, Nurse Joy. It will pass."

"well, make-" Nurse Joy starts but sees Karsten walking away. "He-hey!" Nurse Joy reaches out from her window, and Karsten turns his head back to walk to the window. She smiles as Karsten comes up to the window. His smooth face becoming clearer. She catches his face in the light, noticing he's got nice bed hair.

Karsten catches her looking and she smiles back earnestly. "Take this if those start swelling up and take care, Alright?" Nurse Joy says, handing over some skin applicant and a box of bandages.

Karsten smiles as he reaches out to grab it. "Heh. Okay." Karsten takes it, oblivious of his touch to the nurse across his window. Nurse Joy's skin flutters to his finger on hers.

Karsten takes the meds and he looks up at Nurse Joy, seeing that she had her pink hair tied down. If she had an apron, she'd look like a housewife.

Nurse Joy too was staring. Not only did he have nice bed hair and a smooth face, but he had a somewhat toned neck and jaw. Once again, she catches herself diving into his features. "Well, have a good day then, Mr. Kazuo."

"Alright. You too, then. Have a good morning." Karsten says, taking her aid and heading in his abode. Nurse Joy dismisses his missing of thanks and retreats back inside, looking at the neighborhood Glameow who looks back at her with peering eyes.

She smiles down at the feline and pats her legs in frustration. "C'mon, now. You know why people don't like you, Leena." She reprimands, and the Glameow whips her head before licking the last of the kibble away. "Not even a thank you." She murmurs before crouching to pick up the empty bowl and leaves for the kitchen.

Not noticing the Glameow Leena following her feet, Nurse Joy walks out of her bedroom for the kitchen below. As she makes her descent holding the bowl, she makes clear of the small remarks she'd made of her neighbor as she looked at him from across her window.

Was I making compliments of him? … Heh. Must be my imagination.

Her sandals make a flicking sound as she walks to the staircase. As she checks the room just beside her room, she sees her bathroom shine in the sun.

She dismisses its aesthetic as she makes her way behind the staircase and into the kitchen. As Leena hops up to the table behind her, Nurse Joy places the bowl into the sink and lets the faucet water flow into it. She turns it off after a good amount of water is in the bowl.

She pours some water into the kettle and places it atop the oven. She flicks the temp to a simmer, heating the water in the kettle. With that, she leaves it to ponder upon things.

She leans her hip onto the counter Leena sits on and sighs at the possibility of a lonely life. At that, she starts to contemplate while looking at the ceiling. "Hey Leena?"

"… Mraw~?"

She was not expecting the moody Leena to respond, but okay.

"You think that I am going to be alone forever?"

The Catty Pokemon stops mid-lick to stare at Nurse Joy. "Mrrraw~?" Leena meows, tilting her head at her.

"It's just that… I've been raised out of a lab with scientists for parents – They took good care of me! – a-and I was taught well in being a Nurse… and I… I don't think that being a Nurse was just it."

She turns to Leena, silently nodding at her statement, returning to licking. "But… I was expecting more." Nurse Joy says, making Leena's head stagger and stare up at her. Nurse Joy folds her arms together while looking to the sunny day outside. "I want more than I was given… Something beyond just the priorities of the Pokemon Center. Y-Y'know what I mean?" She asks Leena, tilting her head at the Catty Pokemon.

Leena raises her head and sits on her rear, looking at the contemplative nurse. "… Mraw~."

"P-Tah." She sighs coming to her senses. The kitchen silence is then abruptly by Nurse Joy's clasping of hands, to which Leena's eyes flash in shock and attention. She reads it to be 6:00 AM. "Well, time for me to go to the market." She says before turning to Leena. "And you will have to get going."

"Mraw~." Leena complains in a stifled bawl as Nurse Joy lifts her up by the arms and cradles her, walking to the front door.

"Starting today, I want you to make nice with Mr. Kazuo. Or else, I won't feed you." She titters down the Catty Pokemon, eliciting another meowing complain. "Oh, shush."

She opens the door and places her down to the mat. "Do you understand?" Nurse Joy stands under the doorway, propping her hands on her hips.

"Mrr… Rayr~." Leena meows in a yes-manner.

"Good. Now, run along then. I have to get ready to start my day." Nurse Joy says. Pointing to the street, she proudly says, "Off to your journey, Leena!"

Leena bawls a meow before she turns and scurries to the sidewalk, deeper into the neighborhood. Nurse Joy smiles before she grabs the doorknob to close the door. Before she clutches on the metal, she sees Karsten Kazuo, locking his house in a hurry.

"Going somewhere, Mr. Kazuo?"

Karsten flashes his brown eyes at Nurse Joy, his furrowed frown unchanging as he shambles the keys in his pockets. "I forgot that I had work today. It's in an – hour." Karsten says with a strain.

"Eh~? Then you better hurry."

"Yahh, which is what I am doing." Karsten murmurs, stepping down to the pavement and taking out a Pokeball. Nurse Joy silently watches him from the side.

"Rise and shine, Skarmory!" Karsten shouts, throwing a Pokeball in the air. A flashing of light bursts, forming a Skarmory on the ground. The Skarmory silently turns his head to her master and Karsten caresses her smooth face before jumping on. "Alrighty then. Up, girl. Hyah!"

With that, Nurse Joy watches as Karsten's Skarmory carries him to the skies and flies with each flap. As he disappears from her sight, she comes to and closes her door.

So he has that kind of Pokemon, too?

After a nice long shower, and mostly letting the water roll of her curvaceous body, she steps out of the bathroom and into her room to dry off. She wraps a towel around her hair and lets it sit there to dry. She ties the bathrobe around her waste and walks to her bed.

Picking up a notebook, she takes it with her as she strolls around the house in patrol for things that she needs. Striding by and back to her bathroom, she notices that, by her mirror, she was missing some of deodorant and skin lotion.

She writes it down as she descends down to the floor. She turns to her left, peeking and peering into her study. She starts to hum to herself as she strides by the staircase and straight to the kitchen.

Stray drops of water roll down her neck as she writes down that she needed some more chips. Specially Days. She liked the sour sweet flavors. With a drooling mouth, she etches her favorite snack into her notebook and drifts over to the cupboards.

She swings them open to see that she is lacking in dish soap amongst other cleaning products she had over a year. She writes them down in her notebook and closes them. She strides past where she came in and to the living room beside it. She looks around and past her single couch for anything she might be missing.

There was nothing out of the ordinary, she sums up as her hands finish up and she closes her notebook. She also notices that her hair is less damp than it was earlier. She checks the Pikachu clock on the wall, and it read to be 7: 31 AM.

"The mall isn't open yet." She murmurs as she gives herself a patdown. "Time to change, then."

She slides her feet on the floor unconsciously when suddenly, a weak whistling sound becomes very clear. Her ears pick up on the whistling. She notices it turning into a hissing sound, becoming louder and painful to hear.

"… THE WATER!" She exclaims in a jet to the kitchen to turn down the temperature. She gives it one flick and the steam died down. She can slightly feel the heat from where she's standing. "Yeesh. Oh well. Time to change." She says as she walks to the staircase and into her room.

After mere moments of picking out what she should wear, she picks skinny jeans and a denim jacket with a shirt under. She slicks the damp towel off her pink hair, letting it loosen and drop to her shoulders. She pulls up the skinny jeans and buttons it to her waist.

Her salmon eyes drift to her bedside table, to her trademark green ribbon. She stares at it for a moment, whether she will tie it to her hair or around her wrist. After a good minute, and letting the overheated water downstairs cool down, she grabs it and ties it as a headband, tying the bow atop her head.

Looking herself from the mirror, she is liking the clothes that she's picked. Like a -rocking – girl. She thinks. Maybe Mr. Kazuo would complement you on that. Oh, shush. She silently slaps herself for thinking of him like that. Then again, she would not mind that.

After waiting for the mall's opening time, and bitterly drinking a somewhat sour homemade coffee, she steps in her coral pink flats and unhooks a tote bag from behind the door. "Here I go." She murmurs, unlatching the door and lets it open.

Locking the door, she takes a morning stroll to the mall.

She unconsciously hums to herself to a tune of nothing in particular. She was just humming happily. She felt like she was skipping to the peaceful morning she is experiencing. She passes by apartments, and daily exercisers, students and people just living their life in peace.

When she first started out, she was just raised out of the laboratory. She was being taught new things that she just can't fathom at the time but was just following. But there was this one man, a scientist, that she'll never forget. He'll probably be a weathered old man by now. He always was there to hold her hand, was always willing to do anything for her.

If I were part of this story, I could tell that that man sounded like a father. But she would deflect that and say that he wasn't. Which is what most people would expect. Still, to her, it would be nice if he was.

Either way, she was truly glad that she was born to this.

Without the people like him, she would not grow to be the same. She mostly thought of people like him, and how many more she can save. Along with Pokemon, of course. But, for some reason, she was expecting something out of a man like him.

She doesn't know why. She just does.

Nurse Joy returns to reality when she sees the mall's entrance come on her sight. She passes by the hackling of guys having fun in a café, bringing a pleasing eye to her face.

She strides through and into the mall, coming upon the stores. Unknowingly, she was being distracted by stores that caught her fancy. This will truly be a long day.

After letting herself be flung from one store to another, she finally finds a place to eat lunch. She lets down her haul and looks up to the name of the restaurant.

[Kalosian Crusts] Seemed low-pricey enough.

She started looking inside, which had a standard level of fanciness, meaning she won't have to pay much. After taking a good look at their prices, she ruffles through her handbag for her purse. She still has some good change for at least one dish.

"Ooh~! Seafood!" She exclaims after one peer into their menu. With that, she dashes with her things into the restaurant and to the nearest two-person table and motions to the waiter. "I'll be ordering now~." She happily says, raising a hand in the air.

"Yes, yes." She hears a voice coming from the back, and her ears perk up at its familiarity.

That voice seemed familiar. As she turns her head to the voice, she sees him coming to light. She squints to get a good look at his face. Then, it hit her. His brown eyes and plain face screamed at her that it was him.

"Mr. Kazuo!" Her exclaim makes his eyes flash open at her, being surprised at the sight of her.

"Nurse Joy?" Karsten asks with wide eyes directed at her, to which she politely replies with, "Yup." With a smile, delighted to see him. Karsten, on the other hand, was still dumbfounded by what he sees before him.

A Nurse Joy wearing casual – no, a classy woman's clothes – and not her usual uniform, outside of the Pokemon Center. It was unheard of. At least to him. Even more surprising, she even looked good.

"Wh-What are you doing here?"

"It's my timeoff, and I wanted to get out of the house." She says before propping her fingers below her chin, peering at him with a grin. "So, you work here?"

"Part-time. Now, what would you like?" Karsten asks. The question would have made Karsten stagger if he did not look down to take her orders.

"Oh, I'd like the seafood, please." She says, pointing to it on the menu.

"Alright. Would you like rice with that?"

"Oh, I don't think I have enough for that."

"Really?" Karsten rolls his eyes up to look at her with a raised eyebrow. "I never thought that you would run out of money. You being a high-top nurse and all."

"Oh not at all. I'm just one of many." Nurse Joy says, fanning at Karsten. The reply makes Karsten dig deeper into it. One of many? Then that means…

"Now, my order?" Nurse Joy politely asks, bringing Karsten back to reality.

"o-Oh. Only seafood?"

"errr Oh and some water, thanks."

Karsten nods at her, backing up to the back to turn her in. Nurse Joy takes out her notebook and ticks off the things she already has. After a while, she notices people coming inside the restaurant and the tabled seats turn to many. Filling the restaurant with chatter.

In a moment, another waiter comes with Karsten and starts writing down their orders. Nurse Joy smiles to herself as she ticks down a box and peers into her plastic bags.

It wasn't long until she catches a glance of Karsten serving orders to other people. His brown hair stood still placing one table's orders. She rolls her eyes back to her writing, but she can't help but be languished to look at him as he serves another. Such a hardworking man, she thought.

After three tables, Karsten finally arrives with Nurse joy's plate of seafood. Use your imagination on what it was. She did not care. It tasted amazing.

"MMMmm~ Your cook's got good taste, Mr. Kazuo."

The remark makes Karsten chuckle. "I'll make sure to tell the chef then." With that, Nurse Joy digs in to her food and Karsten returns to serving the others. As he did, Nurse Joy catches a glance of him smiling at a customer. A soft and light smile that made his brows rise. She drops her eyes down to her food, but she put the sight front and center in her mind.

After a while, she ladles the soup atop her fish and slices a piece to go along with her noodles. She mixes them and entwines it with a fork, biting upon the fish-entangled noodles. She sucks it inside, the flavors hitting her like a waterfall. She smiles to herself, tasting every good flavor there was in that bite.

But to Karsten, he was eyeing the pink-haired nurse for a while, and in his train of thought as he served the last tabled customer. A Nurse Joy, not in uniform. She looks good.

Karsten catches his thought just now, but never falters in taking the bill bowl. Did he just compliment her looks? … It was natural to compliment a pretty lady on her looks. There it was again. He called her pretty. Why did he do that? Was it wrong?

His pondering came to a halt, but the thought still lingered.

"Right, Mr. Kazuo." Karsten's ears perk up, and he rolls his eyes to Nurse Joy, who was waving her hand at him from her table. He walks to her front and to have conversation. "Here is the bill, and thank you for the food." Nurse Joy says, sidestepping out of her chair and to the floor. "Oh… and here is a tip." Nurse Joy says, taking out 50PD from her purse and handing it to Karsten.

"Oh, I can't accept that." Karsten says, holding his hands in defense and backing away from the offer.

"But I insist." Nurse Joy says, walking up to Karsten and grabbing his hands. Karsten stammers from this sudden movement, not knowing what to do but let Nurse Joy place the bill in his hands. Her smooth fingers prod his open and tucks her bills inside before closing it.

Nurse Joy's sapphire eyes greet Karsten's wood brown eyes with a smile, making Karsten stagger. The moment felt longer until Nurse Joy huffs little and backs up, grabbing on her plastic bags and turns heel for the door.

"Well, I hope you have a good rest of the day, Mr. Kazuo. Bye~." Nurse Joy turns her head, says with a glint before walking out of the restaurant. Once outside and into the street, she hoists her plastic bags up and stabilizes her pace. I can't believe I just did that. She thought, stifling a giggle.

If she had eyes behind her head, she would see Karsten astonished with pink cheeks at the sensation that someone like her would be this nice to him. Which felt nicer and nicer as it lasted.

"O-Okay." Karsten stammers before shuffling himself to the counter to hand it to the chef.

This was going to be a good rest of the day for the both of them.
