(A/N: Hey guys! Sorry today is my birthday so I've been kind of held up, but here is another chapter!)
Boruto and Sarada had practiced their lines and their roles to perfection. Shino-sensei had put out links to different videos of tips and tricks on their Google Classroom. They had also completed a few other...tasks.. at hand over the weekend.
"Boruto, I have other finals to study for you know."
"This week'll be stressful," He nipped her neck, "just enjoy it before the fire starts."
Nonetheless, Monday rolled around and so their midterms week had commenced. This wasn't as stressful as finals week, and Sarada had gotten all of the material down far before. What was stressful, however, was the homecoming game and dance. She and Cho-cho had to go shopping, she had to plan the announcers, location, and so much more than that.
She hustled out the door, into her car.
"Ughhhhh." Sarada and Chocho were both in the medbay afterschool. Chocho was gathering supplies and materials that she'd possibly need for the XC team, taking a little bit of sweet time to have a talk with her bestie. Boruto and Sarada had just aced their theatre final just 30 minutes before.
"Nice job, Mr. Uzumaki and Ms. Sarada." Shino told them. They had perfectly rehearsed their lines, not missing any cues or marks. "Keep in mind thought, this is only a reading. The actual acting will come in as the winter finals."
"My English midterm took so longggg." Chocho whined. "I was dying of boredom. LITERALLY"
Chocho made an exaggerated fall at that, causing giggles for both of the girls as they kept adding on to the joke. Shikadai and Boruto walked in the locker room to a fit of laughing girls. They both stood there until the girl's laughs had simmered down into little wheezes and pants.
Hmm. Sounds like when we-
"Are you guys done?" Everybody's head snapped to an impatient Shikadai.
"Sorry, sorry," Chocho giggled, "Well, I better get headed over to my team, uh ramen after practice, Sara?"
Sarada waved her off, "Yeah sure!" before turning back to the boys, "Can't a girl have a little fun?"
"Mmm not when there's some needy football players who need the AT's attention."
"Oohh, nothing much. Just some guys who need KT tape." She groaned as she grabbed the tape and began to walk out.
"Oh and tell the Coach we'll be in the bathroom real quick." Shikadai called out. Boruto and Sarada went their opposite ways, passing each other before he grabbed her wrist to stop her when Shikadai was out of sight.
"Don't be touchin' on them too much." He grumbled. Sarada smirked as she pushed up her glasses.
"Wouldn't dream of making you jealous, Boruto-kun."
"KO-NO-HA! KO-NO-HA!" Sarada grimaced at how loud the crowd was. She was literally in the medbay and she could hear them from there! As annoyingly loud as they were, she smiled at the school spirit. All her hard work was about to pay off.
"ALRIGHT!" Sarada wasn't even fazed. She'd been used to their yelling already.
Boruto called out to the rest of the team in the locker room next door, "Has everyone gotten wrapped?"
Sarada headed out to the field, seeing all of her loved ones in the crowd. Auntie Hina, her mom, Auntie Ino, Auntie TenTen, every one of them were sitting in their reserved section. After all, their group was well known. ChoCho was waiting for her next to the benches.
"Whew…. The stands are really packed this year, aren't they?" Chocho looked excited. She loved the crowds. "So are we about to announce the Homecoming Queen and Princess?"
"Yeah, I have it set up right now, that's why I came out here after all." Sarada was dressed in a maroon corseted top, matched with beige cargo pants. Her usual AT attire wasn't needed for this game, as she was acting as the student body president, ASB president, and AT all at once.
"Ooh! It's time!" Chocho clapped her hands excitedly.
Sarada sighed before further stepping out onto the field, "Wish me luck!" She was handed a microphone when she reached the center of the field. The Oto High School football team stood attentive, as the rest of the crowd hushed.
"Hello KHS!" The crowd roared, "I hope you guys are ready for this football game! My name is Sarada Uchiha, and I'm your student body president. I'm here now to announce our Homecoming Queen and Princess!" She could hear her mom and her aunties cheering in the crowd.
Boruto watched from the locker room as Sarada was out in the field. He watched her with admiration as he did all throughout their childhood. Tch. Teme. Always trying to outshine people.
"...And our winner for Homecoming Queen is….Lila Fuganami!" The crowd cheered for their elected senior. KHS's Queen was always between the Senior Girls, whereas the Princess was always between the Freshmen. The Juniors and Sophomores had their moments at the Winter and Spring Balls. "...Our Homecoming Princess is Mina Akemi!" The roared as the two girls hugged Sarada and went to their fathers as they were congratulated of the positions.
"Now, before the game gets going, the bathrooms are in between each stand pile. The food stands are off to the right of the crowd. Exits are on the left and right of the arena…"
Here we go. Boruto cracked his knuckles.
"...And without further ado…. OUR KHS FOOTBALL TEAM!" Sarada moved out the way as the boys ran onto the field. The crowd cheered and roared, chanting. Sarada retreated back to the benches, Chocho squealing.
"You looked great out there!"
Sarada sheepishly laughed, "I was just talking but thank you I love you. Gosh this game is going to-"
"Ms Akimichi!" The two girl's heads snapped to their right, where their supervisor was standing.
Chocho closed her eyes before groaning, "I'll be right back."
Sarada giggled and shook her head as she walked towards the medbay to get some of her stuff. She walked back to the field with her head looking down at her planner. She saw a shadow loom over her, Boruto's tall frame shielding her light. He looked fairly attractive in this setting. His fluffy hair already slightly sweaty from warm-ups, his eyeblack slightly smudged, and that damn smile on his face. They were in a dark hallway, near the far back of the field.
She raised her eyebrow, "You need something, Boruto-kun?"
He leaned down to her placing a needy kiss to her lips, before closing in on her ear.
"If I don't see you cheering for me tonight, I'll make sure everybody'll see something else."
And as if he needed to validate his point any further, he trailed down to her chest, moving to the base of the strap of her shirt. Pushing the fabric aside, he sucked and groaned at the tug at his hair. He moved her strap back to its place, hiding his fresh hickey.
He leaned back, tapping on his helmet with an amused smile on his face.
"Boruto!" Their heads snapped to the end of the hallway, "Come on! Game's underway!"
He looked back at her before winking, "Wish me luck Sara-chan," he jogged back to the field, "Sorry! I had Sarada-chan look for more KT tape!"
"Hey girl! Where'd you go?" Chocho said as Sarada approached the group again.
"Sorry I uh...had to grab my planner!"
Boruto was breathing heavily. Calm down. Focus. He looked up at the scoreboard, 21-22. Shit. There was 15 seconds left on the clock. They had this one play left.
"SET…. HUT!" Boruto clasped the ball. Time slowed down for him. He carefully analyzed his options.
Inojin is out.
Iwabe can't run this play yet.
Boruto scanned his eyes across the whole field. Looks like he can't go for a safe option.
There. This was risky. A deep route, they've usually never had to resort to this before.
'Naruto Uzumaki's son!' 'Aren't you Naruto's son!' 'Can you ask Naruto for an autograph for me?' 'You got those skills from your dad, didn't you?'
Nah. The name's Boruto Uzumaki. And I'm the next big hit.
He felt the leather of the ball fling off of his fingertips. The air of the late Friday night, hitting his face through his helmet. The stadium lights felt like fire on his skin.
"AND THE TOUCHDOWN TO KONOHA HIGH!"
He sighed. Taking his helmet off, shaking his hair of sweat.
"FUCK YEAH BORUTO!"
"CLUTCH GOD!"
Boruto basked in the glory of his hard work. Yeah. This is barely the beginning.
"Boruto-kun!" He heard the girly cheers from the crowd.
"Boru-chan!" He heard his mom and aunties screaming his name.
"Hell yeah kid!" He heard his dad.
"YEAH BORUTOOOO!" He looked to see Sarada, jumping up and down, cheering his name for him. He smiled.
He approached the bench, getting pats on the backs from his other teammates. He drained 5 cups of water and 3 of gatorade. He almost felt bad for the other team, but he couldn't. He knew he couldn't. He knew they didn't want him to. He approached Sarada and Chocho, standing to the sidelines of the chaotic boys. Shikadai and Inojin followed him.
"Not bad, boys." Chocho teased.
Sarada and Boruto locked eyes, "Not bad at all."
All of their families sat in the parking lot, waiting for the boys.
"You looked great out there Sara-chan!" Ino laughed.
"Thanks Auntie! But I really only just talked haha."
"You planned this whole thing right?" Hinata started, "Man Sara-neesan, you sure don't get enough credit." Himawari seemed to finish Hinata's sentence for her.
"You're right on that one Hima," Shikadai interjected, the rest of the boys following him, including Sasuke and Naruto. They all made rounds with each other, hugs and pats on the heads going around.
"Well boys, you may have looked good on the field, but we'll see who looks best at the dance tomorrow." Chocho challenged, with Himawawri, Sarada, and Sumire standing next to her.
"Psh, yeah. We'll see."
The families all said goodbyes as they would probably see each other tomorrow anyways. Boruto and Sarada said their goodbyes to each other's families for the nights, not so much as giving each other a glance. But they didn't have to.
"There's something….off." Chocho started as she watched the two.
Shikadai scoffed next to her, "That's an understatement."
(Hope you guys enjoyed!)
