Chapter Eight: Rock Lee challenges Sasuke

The next day soon came and found Naruto, Sakura, and Sasuke all standing on the bridge as they waited for their sensei and Raina. Soon the red-haired girl could be seen walking over to them covering her right eye.
"Your eye changed again?" Naruto asked her as Raina stopped next to Sasuke. Raina just nodded her head as she leaned against the railing of the bridge. Sakura glared at Raina, which caused the girl to just glare right back at the pinkette. Sasuke noticed the bandages were spotted red again and sighed.

"You did it again…" Sasuke grunted out as Naruto and Sakura looked at him, confused at his words. Raina sighed and rested her head on Sasuke's shoulder, allowing the young Uchiha to see just how tired she really was.

"I couldn't sleep… kicked in again… and I was up talking with my brother last night." Raina said as Sasuke took the arm closest to him and undid the bandages lightly so only he could see the cuts closest to her wrist.

"What does he say about all this?" Sasuke redid her bandages and then rested his head on top of her head, both of them ignoring Sakura and Naruto as they started to complain about how late their sensei was.

"I didn't even have time to brush my teeth or change my underwear!" Naruto exclaimed causing Raina and Sakura to gag while Sasuke looked at Naruto in disgust.

"That's really gross Naruto…" Raina pointed out just as Kakashi appeared on the arch of the bridge like usual.

"Hey guys, good morning. Sorry for being late, a black cat crossed my path and I had to take a different route." Kakashi explained as Raina and Sasuke shifted so they weren't as close as they had been a few minutes ago. Naruto and Sakura both yelled at Kakashi for lying while Raina just shook her head.

"Do they ever stop?" Raina asked as sand started to rise out of the bags that rested on her right hips. Sasuke grunted eyeing her sand.

"No… What are you going to do with that sand?" Sasuke asked as he saw it wrap around Naruto's leg without the knucklehead of the village knowing. Kakashi spotted the sand as well and then looked at Raina.

"I don't think that would be a wise idea there Raina." Kakashi stated as he handed Sasuke his and Raina's entry forms. Naruto looked down and noticed the sand to see it traveling back to Raina as she looked at her entry form with a frown.
"Rain… can you remove the sand please?" Naruto practically squeaked out as the red-haired girl looked up.

"Oh… Gomen Naruto. I thought it removed itself from your ankle." Raina stated as she raised her hand up and controlled the sand back towards her. Soon the sand was back in her bags and she was back to looking at her entry form. Soon the four of them all split up to go and do their own things. Raina and Sasuke were walking together down the street.

"Who do you plan to enter with?" Sasuke asked Raina as they walked towards the training grounds that he, Sakura, and Naruto all had to do the bell test at. Raina shrugged her shoulders as she sat down and leaned against one of the stumps.

"I don't know… My father, the fucking asshole he is, is allowing me to either be on our team that we have now or join my siblings and be a Suna nin like I am suppose to be for the exams." Raina sighed and looked up at Sasuke as he stood in front of her.

"Want to know what I think you should do?" Sasuke asked her as he looked down at the red-haired girl that he considered a teammate and friend. "I think you should stay with Team Seven. We all work well together and do you really think Naruto will just accept you leaving our team to be with your siblings?" Raina looked up at him as he smirked down at her. "Do you really think I would let you leave our team when we work well together?"

"I guess not." Raina said as Sasuke sat down in front of her and undid her bandages on her arms. He let out a small sigh when he saw the fresh cuts over all the old ones that she had.

"I really wish you didn't do this Rai… I thought I told you to come talk to me?" Sasuke looked at her as he ran one finger over the cuts.

"It was late at night and you would have been asleep. I have chronic insomnia. I don't sleep at night most nights. That's why I look somewhat like a raccoon." Raina stated as Sasuke looked at her and noticed faint dark circles that were under and around her eyes were dark then they had been the past few days.

"I wouldn't have cared that you woke me up… Will you wake me up next time?" Sasuke asked as he rewrapped the bandages around her arms, just like he did yesterday.

"Yeah… if I'm not with Gaara then I will." Raina finally agreed, not wanting to listen to Sasuke continue to tell her to come to him when her bloodlust rose. Sasuke smirked the Uchiha smirk even more before throwing a small handful of dirt at Raina. "Hey!" She glared at him before throwing dirt at him as well. This ensued a spar/taijutsu match where Raina and Sasuke were both covered in dirt in the end with Raina laughing a true laugh for the first time in a long time; the first time Sasuke ever heard her laugh a true laugh instead of the giggling she did when Gaara pulled her up into the air, when Gaara appeared in front of them.

"I thought I heard your laughter Raina." Gaara stated as he looked at Raina and then Sasuke.

"I'll see you later Rai…" Sasuke said before he ruffled her hair and left, his hands shoved in his pockets. Raina watched him leave before turning her attention back to Gaara just as Temari appeared.

"What in the hell happened to you?" Temari asked as she cocked an eyebrow at Raina's appearance, dirt covering her clothes and smudged on her face as well.

"Sparing match with a teammate from here in Konohagakure." Raina stated as she put her emotionless mask back on her face. Temari, noticing that she was going emotionless when the blonde was positive that she saw more emotion on her baby sister's face like she did when Raina was younger, sighed.

"We need to know who you are entering with." Temari stated as Gaara looked at Raina before looking at her.

"She's not entering with us." Gaara stated calmly while Raina looked at her brother and smirked. Temari looked at Gaara shocked before looking at Raina.

"Why not? You belong in Sunagakure. With us." Temari stated as she put her hands on her hip to look at Raina.

"I may belong there but I have two teammates on Team Seven here in Konohagakure that wouldn't let me join you even if I wanted too…" Raina trailed off as she looked up at the sky. "I'm accepted here… by two teammates that don't care that my eye changes…"

"Fine…" Temari sighed, deciding she would just drop it before she got Raina pissed and got sand wrapped around her ankle. She soon left, leaving Gaara and Raina alone. Raina looked at her brother and smirked before she felt herself get pulled up into the air by sand.

"God damn it Gaara! This is why I never play with you!" Raina yelled/teased since she and Gaara were each other's only 'friend' when she still lived in Suna. Gaara smirked before he threw her up in the air and caught her when she came down. "I hate it when you do that."

"But yet you love me anyways, Imoto." Gaara stated, showing some emotion to his baby sister.

"Hai, hai. That will never change Nii-san." Raina smirked before Gaara placed her back on her feet. "I'll see you later Nii-san… I have things to do." And with that said, Raina ran off to go shower.
The days flew by quickly and all of Team Seven didn't see much of each other before the day for the Chunin exams had arrived. Raina had just shown up in front of the Shinobi Academy.

"RAINA!" Naruto shouted as he hugged her tightly. Raina stiffened considerably before looking at Naruto like he was crazy.

"Hi… let go of me please?" Raina asked as she looked to Sasuke for help, who noticed that Raina had stiffened up.

She must not be used to contact like that… or something else happened… Sasuke's thought trailed off as Naruto released Raina to greet Sakura who arrived as well. Raina stood next to Sasuke as Sakura acted differently than she usually did. "Come on lets go…" Sasuke sighed as he took one hand out of his pockets to tug on Raina's hair.
Ugh… this exam is going to be brutal… but with what Suna plans to do… I wonder just whose side I will really have to be on in the end… Raina thought as she rubbed her temple, giving Sasuke a half-hearted glare. Her eye had changed again last night and she couldn't sleep so she was starting to get irritated easier. The four of them walked into the academy and up to the second floor before coming up to a group of people. Raina tuned Sasuke and Sakura out as they talked and noticed a boy wearing a green jumpsuit staring at her.

"Beautiful with red hair… Please be my girlfriend? I swear to protect you with my life." The boy said to Raina as she gave him a glare and a blank face, something Gaara and she had in common. Sasuke looked upset for a brief moment before placing his own Uchiha mask on.
"The hell?" Raina asked as she looked up at Sasuke. "Is this guy for real?" When Sasuke didn't answer she looked back to see that a brunette girl with two buns in her hair shaking her head at him. Fuck… I think he's serious… where's Gaara when you need him… Raina thought as she sighed and closed her eyes, rubbing her temple more. "Not in your lifetime, or anyone else's lifetime for that matter." Raina deadpanned as Sasuke couldn't help but smirk at her answer. Soon Lee, as the boy with long hair that was standing next to the female with two buns called him, left after turning his attention to Sakura.

"Hey Naruto, Sasuke, Raina! Let's go!" Sakura shouted as she grabbed Naruto's and Sasuke's hands and started to lead them towards the stairs. Sasuke held his hand out to Raina as he started to be dragged away. Raina grabbed it with a smile and walked next to him. The group had just entered a large room that had a balcony covering where they just came from.

"Hey, guy with the dark eyes!" Lee called out to them as they came into his line of vision from his place above them. The four of them looked up and Sasuke sighed, dropping Raina's hand. Neither of them realized they were still holding hands.

"What is it?" Sasuke asked with an annoyed look while Raina had a blank face, Sakura was freaking out and Naruto looked annoyed.

"Will you fight me right here?" Lee asked, or rather demanded as he looked down at the four, his eyes trained on Sasuke.
