"Not looking forward to today" I mutter as I brush my teeth. And it's true. Rias and Sona will without a doubt try to get me to be in her peerage. Plus, Issei will be confronting me as well.
"So Hyoudou-chan is a devil -nya?"
Kuroka asked with a yawn.
"Yeah, unfortunately" Good thing that they treat him well in the anime.
"School is soon, the devils will be questioning you today -nya" She said with a serious look
"Will you join them?" She said after a moment.
"No" I say after thinking about it. Joining the devils would restrict a lot of my freedom, I would be inclined to help them out though.
I also need to plan on what I do with the whole Asia situation. Issei really loved her in the anime, so I will do my best to keep her safe.
'You gonna try out that new move anytime soon?' Anthem said suddenly. I only smirked in response, I was wanting to try it out too.
"Well, better get ready for school" I say with a worried tone.
"Things will be okay -nya" Kuroka said after kissing me.
I didn't say anything as I grabbed my jacket and headed out.
Issei wasn't waiting for me this time
'That's not a good sign'
I keep my head down and head to school.
After my first class of the day, the intercom rang out all across the school.
"Will Summer Isaac come to the Student Council Office"
'This is where canon gets fucked up' I think as I walk out.
I knew that I would change things, but not knowing the future anymore makes me uncertain of my future actions.
'Either way, I can't avoid this'
'Anthem what are my chances of turning them all to ash'
Anthem seemed to perk up at the thought.
'Since they're devils, that wouldn't last very long because my flames are deadly against them'
'It seems annihilating is an option, good to know'
I walk in the room and can tell that every one of them looks like they're ready to fight. It seems that both the ORC and the Student Council are here, including Issei.
"Please, sit," Sona said cautiously. I take a step forward and they all tense. I continue walking until I sit down, across from Rias and Sona.
They didn't say anything for a moment.
"You know, I'm not going to hurt you all" As long as Issei is safe, but I didn't tell them that.
They seemed to relax, but not by much.
"How do you feel about devils?" Rias asked with some apprehension.
"I haven't had any good experiences with them" I say nonchalantly
They looked alot more tense.
"We need to know your intentions," Sona asked after a moment.
"Nii-san isn't a monster" Issei said suddenly, kind of angry
'Good to know that Issei doesn't hate me, who knows what Rias told him'
"Regardless, we need to know if you are a threat," Sona continued.
"It depends on how you act around Issei" I say with an emotionless tone.
"It seems you care a lot about your brother." Rias said with an understanding look.
"I promised to protect him and his family, and I will, even if I have to kill the sisters of the current Maoh" I say with a threatening tone.
Their eyes widened and everything got tense again.
"Nii-san…" It seems that Issei is now learning about what I'm capable of.
"Sorry, didn't mean to scare you Issei" I say with a smile.
He didn't say anything.
"You know who we are then?" Rias said, trying to hide her fear.
"Rias Gremory, and Sona Sitri" I reply
"What made you so protective, it's almost obsessive" It seems they're trying to understand me a little.
"They took in a child they didn't even know,"
"They are good people" I say as I think about the kindness they showed.
Was I obsessive? Maybe there's something wrong with me. I guess I just latched onto the first people that showed me kindness. A topic for another time.
"How will you deal with us, going forward?" Finally the question that they were worrying over.
"Keep the Hyoudou's happy, and I will leave you all alone" I said simply. They nod their heads.
"I'll see myself out, I have classes to attend"
~Rias POV~
I let out a sigh of relief when he left the room.
"That was dangerous" I say out loud.
"Was he always like this, Hyoudou-san?" Sona asked.
I nod my head and turn to him.
"Nii-san has always been protective, but I didn't know it was this much"
"How did he become your brother, Issei" I ask curious about their relationship.
"He was always quiet"
"Irina and I met him at the sand pit, near our house"
"He was especially protective of Irina as well"
"She moved away a couple of months after he met her"
"My parents invited him over to dinner, and found out that his parents weren't the best"
I sigh and tell him "I've told you about Sacred Gears, right? Well, your brother has one."
"I have a dragon type, right?"
"Yes, you're brother has a fire type"
He nodded his head
"But it's not just any fire type, he has Incinerate Anthem, the pinnacle of all fire-type sacred gears… Your brother has the potential to kill the gods themselves"
"Nii-san has something like that?" He said, I nodded.
~Isaac POV~
That went well, I think. From what I recall. The fallen angel, Dohnaseek, will attack him tonight. I can't protect him all the time, so I'll let him handle it.
For now, I'll head home after school ends.
School ends uneventfully.
I go home to the arms of Kuroka.
I wake up to the beautiful sight of Kuroka sleeping. I do my morning ritual and leave without waking her up.
I met Issei… And Rias at his house.
"Summer-san, Issei and I will be walking to school with you, let's get along" I sigh and nod my head.
'She wasn't sleeping with him this early'
'I wonder what happened last night?' I think, worried.
Issei looked conflicted though.
"Issei, you look upset" And it was true.
"A fallen angel attacked me last night and almost killed me, he fled by the time Rias got to me"
'Shit, he got away scott free in the anime'
My eyes narrow and the air heats up around me.
Rias looked alarmed.
"Nii-san, I'm fine now, I want, no I need, to get stronger"
The heat disappears
'So he's going to take training seriously this early'
"Work hard Issei, and I'm sure you'll get stronger"
He nods with a determined look on his face.
School starts and ends uneventfully, today was exam day and it was really boring.
'He meets Asia soon, maybe today' I think to myself.
'When will you fight, Isaac?' Anthem says impatiently
'Probably tomorrow, when Issei goes to save Asia.'
'He'll also find out about his Sacred Gear'
I go home and rest and talk with Kuroka
"Somethings happening tomorrow, isn't it -nya" Kuroka said, noticing that something was wrong.
'I'll have to come clean to her, about how I really got to this world soon, it just isn't fair to her, who trusts me so much'
"I just have a bad feeling, Issei was attacked last night, I'm afraid they will come back" I lie hating myself for it.
I'm getting caught up in my lies.
'Ill tell her tomorrow after the church fight'
We go to sleep together
I woke up at noon, seeing that it wasn't a school day, I decided to relax some. Kuroka had no problem agreeing to that.
After lazing about all day I hear knocking on my door at 9. The dark was settling in. I looked at Kuroka and she turned into a cat.
I opened it up to see a distressed Issei.
"Nii-san, I need help!"
'This is it, this will be an important moment where Issei starts his path.' After this the events in the future will start to change.
I nod my head, and ask him what's wrong even though I knew.
"My friend Asia has been kidnapped by fallen angels. Rias doesn't know"
I look behind him and see Koneko and Kiba.
I nod my head before grabbing my katana that was laying on the table. They seemed surprised at the sword, but didn't say anything.
We make our way to the church only to be greeted Kalawarner and Miltet.
"Looks like the devil's came" The tall one said
"You're late, Dohnaseek is already extracting that nuns Sacred Gear"
I narrow my eyes and the air starts to heat up.
"I'll take care of these guys, you guys head in" I say before they nod
"Like we'll let you" Mitelt.
I unsheath my sword and it ignites in purple, malevolent flames.
Their eyes widen before Kalawarner says
"So this is the boy who killed Raynare"
They give me a glare.
"You're going to die here today, and no one's going to stop me" I say with a grin as I pointed Kusabimaru at them.
They seemed hesitant at the statement.
"Cocky, for a human" Mitelt added.
I narrow my eyes and the heat around me increases rapidly.
I smile before sheathing my sword
"Giving up?" She says not realizing the danger they're in.
They seemed to gather their courage and form spears of light at their hands
They send them towards me and I wave my hand summoning a swathe of flame to eat their attacks.
The heat is now unbearable and they start to sweat.
"Kalawarner, we should retreat" Mitelt says unsure.
"No! This human killed Raynare,we need to stall him and wait for Dohnaseek" She said with anger
I cock my hand and summon flames from within, letting it build up.
And I let it go, punching forward.
Hiken
An absolutely massive fireball was unleashed up into the air, turning them to ashes in the blaze of an inferno.
'You used it' Anthem said suddenly
'Pretty devastating, good job' He added
'Looks like Rias arrived' I turn around and flash them a smile.
"Just as scary as ever, Summer-san" Rias said in awe.
"Yeah, Issei is inside fighting the leader"
I say while walking in.
The exorcists are all beaten, some being dead.
And then I saw them.
Dohnaseek was laying on the ground gasping for air.
Issei was hovering over Asia, crying.
Rias walked past me and did what happened in canon.
"Buchou, Asia- She's dead" Issei said with tears in his eyes
"You can save her, just like how you saved me, right?"
She looked conflicted for a moment before nodding.
She chanted and Asia started to breathe again.
She weakly opens her eyes
She looks at Issei and starts to cry, hugging him.
"Issei-" She says weakly.
Issei never looked more happy.
"Issei, you did good, you even awakened your Sacred Gear"
He nods and looks at the red gauntlet on his arm.
"The Boosted Gear" Rias says with awe.
I walk up to Dohnaseek, and grab his hair, pulling him up, and I ask Issei
"He's still alive, Issei, what do you want to happen"
He looked conflicted, not sure what to do.
"He hurt her, and killed her, all for the power she has" He says
He didn't say anything more, but his face says it all.
I grab him by the head, and with a whisper, I Cremate him.
He looked away at the sight of him turning to ashes.
I sigh and before anyone says anything I turn around and leave.
I go home and open the door, looking at Kuroka
And with that, the first arc is over. Next chapter is the talk with Kuroka, and the truth behind his appearance
