Chapter 2
Kai POV
After Jake, the Hephaestus head counselor, showed me around, it was already time for dinner. "What's for dinner?" I asked Jake. "Oh, it's usually some regular stuff; pizza, hamburgers, etc., but they smell really good this time. I wonder why." Jake pondered. I came into the dining room, and saw the others, excluding Sensei and Misako. Guess they didn't want pizza. I walked towards my teammates, but then Jake stopped me. "You can only sit with your siblings at the Hephaestus table when you know your godly parent." Jake explained to me, "But you can see them again after dinner." I went to the Hephaestus table with a bunch of other people; muscular people. "Hello! Aren't you one of those ninjas?" A girl asked me. "Yep, and what's your name?" I asked. "It's Monica. And you are?" Monica asked. "I'm Kai." I told her, "So, these are my "siblings"." "Yeah, well, our dad is Hephaestus. Our moms are mortals though." Monica explained. "But I saw my dad everyday, until, he died." I told her and the others. "Well, your from a different dimension, and here, your dad is Hephaestus. So, let's just assume that, along with your friends." Jake said. "Fine." I sighed in frustration. After I sat down, Zane came out with the food and, oh no. He's wearing his pink apron. Why is he wearing that?! "Dinner is served!" He announced. Everyone turned to stare at him. Then someone snickered, and soon everyone joined in, except for my teammates, Reyna, a guy with black clothes and a silver skull ring, and a few others. "What is so funny?" Zane asked, clueless as usual. "Dude! Your wearing an apron. A pink one too!" A girl in blood red armor hollered back at him. strong(Can you Percy Jackson fans guess who it is?)/strong "You laugh at my cleanliness?" Zane asked back. "No, your wearing that thing. That's what!" A boy with blonde hair called back. He was with some other people. One of them seem to have an instrument with strings (The guy is Will from Apollo's Cabin, in case you didn't know). "You guys! Stop laughing! You'll hurt his feelings!" Nya scolded them. But it was no use. They just kept laughing. Then one of them started calling him names. "Hey pinky boy! Why don't you wear some big clown shoes while your at it?" The girl with the blood red armor yelled at him. "That's enough!" Chiron yelled as he entered the dining room, "Clarisse, you shall apologize to Zane immediately." "Sorry Zane." She apologized, but she didn't look the least bit sorry at all. Grr. I'm going to avenge Zane. "I accept your apology Clarisse. But please, no laughter the next time I cook." Zane told her. After that, everyone started eating. "Dang! The pink dude cooks like a boss! Better than ambrosia even!" A guy from a pink table commented. Then everyone started commenting how great Zane's cooking was. Then Clarisse called to Zane. "Hey Pinky! Over here!" Clarisse called out. Zane probably heard, but he didn't respond to it. "Ugh. Zane, come over here!" She called again. "Yes. What is it that you want Clarisse?" Zane asked politely. "Well, why don't you taste your own food." She replied. Then she threw some pizza at Zane. Soon, everyone at her table started throwing food at Zane. "Hey! Stop that!" I yelled at them. "Or what fire boy? Gonna give us baby burns?" Clarisse teased. "Nope, but I will do this. Ninja-go!" I did Spinjitstu on her, punching, kicking, whatever I could do to get her back. She was shocked at first, but then started to dodge some of the punches and kicks I threw at her. She missed some of them, but I got her pretty good. Then I stopped beating her up. "What the heck was that?!" She questioned, "You, you freak!" "That's for hurting my brother." I replied in a calm, but angry tone, "You have no right hurting him." I turned to Zane, but he disappeared. I went outside to go after him. The others noticed what happened, but didn't follow me. "Zane!" I called out, "Zane, where are you? Come out where ever you are! I know they're jerks, but please come back!" I searched for at least half an hour, but no luck. I gave up, and went back to the dining room. Nya started to walk up to me. "Hey Kai. Did you find Zane?" Nya asked me. "No, not yet. But those guys really need to be taught a lesson." I told her, "C'mon. It's getting late. We should turn in for the night." "Yeah, I guess we should. Well, night Kai!" Nya said. "Night!" I called back to her. I walked to the Hephaestus Cabin, got onto my bed, and fell asleep.
Percy POV/span/p
It's nighttime already, and I couldn't help, but think about the events that happened in the Dining Room today.
Flashback
Zane came out wearing a pink apron, and yet he was clueless how stupid it is to wear that, much less in front of people. I was laughing with the others, but then Annabeth came over to my table, and punched me. "Oww! What was that for?!" I yelped. "Stop laughing Percy. For once, your being a bad guy. Zane's new here, and look. Everyone he knows isn't laughing. They probably seen this before. It's probably a normal thing for Zane to do." Annabeth scolded me. "Yeah, well, he could've at least chose a different color besides pink." I told Annabeth. "It takes a man to wear pink Perce. And here you are laughing with the others, especially Clarisse." Annabeth scolded me, yet again "Ninja-go!" I heard a voice yell. I turned, and saw a fiery red tornado coming after Clarisse. Zane looked a bit hurt, and started to run away, with pizza sauce, cheese, etc. all over him. His gi was stained too. That's probably gonna take a lot of time to wash off, since his ninja gi is, ohhh! That's why he wears that thing. But of all colors, pink? Maybe there was no other colors left for him to buy, a voice nagged in the back of my head. Now I felt guilty laughing. I went after Zane, but he was nowhere to be seen. I looked around, and saw a small trail of ice, very faint and hard to notice. I followed the trail, and it soon led me to Zane. I ducked behind a tree, when he turned around to observe his surroundings. He started to climb a tree, Thaila's tree, and sat down. Then he took off the top part of his ninja gi, folded it, and put it next to him. He moved himself in a crisscross-applesauce position, and put his hands on his knees. He stayed that way for a few minutes, before I decided to see his front side. He looked calm, peaceful, like he usually is when I first met him. Then he started to move, so I hid in a bush in front of him. He looked down, near me, and then he put his hand near his chest. emWhat is he doing?/em I wondered. Then, he pulled off the top part of his chest, revealing some switches, buttons, etc. on his inside, while the top part of his chest was like a swinging lid. emHe, he's a robot?! /emHe sighed, and flipped a switch. I tried to read it, but it said, Pun Nya Ditch. Then he had a look of realization on his face. "Now I understand why they were laughing at me. I wish I had never did that." Zane softly said to himself. He started to cry a bit to himself, and I felt even more guilty for laughing. Then he flipped the switch off I think, closed his top part of his chest, and started meditating. I snuck away when he looked deep into his meditating. He's a robot. Does his teammates know? I went near the Dining Room, and saw one of Zane's teammates, Jay. "Jay!" I called out, "Did you know Zane is a robot?" "Wait, you found Zane?!" Jay asked worriedly, "He never usually acts like that! What happened to him?" I explained what I saw, and he looked a bit relieved. "Well, as long he's safe from danger, then that's good. And yeah, he's a nindroid." Jay said. "Nindroid?" I asked. "Part robot, part ninja." Jay explained to me, "But don't tell anyone else, especially because of what happened today." "Yeah, ok. Good night Jay." I said to him. "Night." He called back. Then I went to my cabin./
Flashback Over
*Sigh* "Man, these guys are a bit weird, but I guess I'll have to cope." I murmured to myself. Maybe I should get to know them better. I'll ask Chiron if I can have a day off, so I can get to know these guys from Ninjago better. I started to drift off to sleep.
