Jesse went back to the studio to meet with Theo, Khalid and the detectives. They tried to brainstorm anyone Beca didn't get on with or anyone who could potentially harm her but no luck. The detectives were working hard on trying to find the unmarked car or get better CCTV footage of what these men looked like.
Although Theo disagreed, Khaled also thought it was best to announce Beca's disappearance to the media. I hope to find any additional information. Jesse wasn't sure of this but the detectives assured it was one of the best options. Theo was thinking more out the PR angst that's going to occur and the repercussions it was going to bring but if it was going to save Beca, then they would do it. Jesse sent a quick text to Aubrey telling her to prepare Chloe and let her know what was going to happen.
Once Jesse left, Aubrey and Stacie went to find Chloe who was crying on the bed holding one of Becas hoodies. The 2 girls were heartbroken at the view in front of them but they just sat beside her and let her cry. Nothing they could say would make Chloe feel any better but they just wanted to be there. When Aubrey got a text from Jesse she broke the news to Chloe about the news being released to the media. At first, this made Chloe sob even more and repeating how this even happened but after a while, she knew she wanted to help and sitting on her bed wasn't going to bring Beca back any quicker.
After getting somewhat dressed Chloe and Aubrey walked into the studio where she was met by Jesse who took her to where the detectives were. At first, the news came to a shock to Chloe but she just wanted to find her DJ. She wasn't sure how she felt about the release to the media about Becas kidnapping because she knew the brunette didn't like attention but Chloe just wanted her back. She scrolled through her phone photos, numerous selfies of her and Beca, selfies, loads of pictures of the Bellas and baby Bella amongst funny memes she thought were funny although Beca usually just rolled her eyes at them. She found one of her favourite photos of Beca for the detective to use while Theo called some publicist to come to the studio for a press release. Chloe still couldn't believe this was happening, she and Beca were meant to be at home right now, binge-watching Netflix and eating junk food just enjoying each other's company. Not having to put out a press release for her missing girlfriend.
Within an hour, Theo was at the press downstairs that was full of various media sites. Chloe's phone was blowing up with messages from her social media. Although Beca was a private person, she never hid her relationship with Chloe. Chloe and Aubrey were sitting in Becas office while detectives worked down the hall, Jesse was on the phone to multiple studio people and the office was manic right now. To Chloe, she just felt like she was watching the world go past. Aubrey had told Stacie who was still at the house with the baby to inform the Bellas and Becas parents about the press release as well as calling her own and Chloe's workplace to take time off. Aubrey needed to be with Chloe right now.
An email notification popped up on the screen on DJ Khaled's computer. An Unknown email but with a photo. At first, the detectives wanted to wait until opening it in case it was dangerous but Khaled opened it anyway eager for answers on one of his favourite artists. And then came the answer they were looking for. An image of Beca tied to a chair, the newspaper from that day in her lap. Her face looked cut and bruised. Jesse grimaced at the photo. He's never seen his best friend look so helpless.
"We've gotta find her" He whispered but loud enough for Theo to hear and nod agreeing.
Under the photo, there were instructions for Khaled to complete which included sending a large sum of money amongst other demands.
The media caused a lot of commotion which got the attention of Chloe and Aubrey who were also interested. They walked towards the office but Jesse spotted them and immediately ran out to them.
"You're not going to want to go in there," Jesse said as he held Chloe's shoulders. Aubrey looked confused at her boyfriend and noticed him send a look towards her. "Why what's going on" Chloe mumbled but then she got a glimpse of a photo that was on the computer. Tears formed in her eyes as she gasped causing Aubrey to look in the same direction. Jesse sighed as Chloe pushed him out of the way and walked into the office. The picture of Beca tied to a chair was enlarged. All Chloe could do was stare before she warmed liquid in her throat and she ran out of the office, past her two friends and straight to the toilets. She's been in this office multiple times when Becas had to work late or when she just wanted to surprise her so she knew her way around. Aubrey who was in Jesse's embrace watched as her best friend flew past her, "Do what you need to bring that little hobbit back, as much as she's still a pain in my ass - we all need her home, Chloe needs her" she whispered and Jesse nodded as Aubrey broke the embrace to go find Chloe. When she did the redhead was curled up over the bathroom toilets so Aubrey immediately went to hold the redhead's hair back.
"Did you see her face, they've hurt her '' Chloe sobbed. Aubrey tried biting back her tears but just nodded although Chloe couldn't see.
"it's Beca, the other guys probably look worse" Aubrey smirked and for the first time that day, Aubrey managed to stifle a small chuckle out of Chloe.
