Wanted to do a bit of fluff. Since we've had to stay home, I've become actually obsessed with indoor plants haha. I hope you like!

Kagome hummed to herself as she walked around the rows at the back of her plant nursery, checking leaves and soil before watering as she saw fit. She liked this time of the morning, the shop was open, but it was the quiet before customers started at a steady stream.
She used this time to collect her thoughts and just enjoy the fruits of her labour, a prosperous plant nursery. Sure, she could use the irrigation system they have in place, but she enjoyed the quiet moments of personally checking her leaves and categorizing if any one plant needed anything in particular.
'Hm, it's almost time to fertilize' she thought absentmindedly, stroking the leaf of a vining golden pothos plant before her.
"Kagome, a little help up front, please!" Shippo called out, the teen's voice reaching her. Putting down her watering can, she shuffled around leaves and flowers, trying to not get her hair or apron caught on anything in the more compact space.
Approaching the cash wrap counter with a wide smile she took stock of everything while wiping her hands dry in her apron. Shippo turned to her, bottle green eyes earnest.
"Sorry to bother you Kagome, but this guy wanted to know the difference between a pothos and a philodendron and I kinda forgot." he said sheepishly. She grinned at him and ruffled his messy red hair.
"No worries, Ship." turning to the man before them, she paused, brain stuttering to a stop at the handsome visage before her. Light blonde hair pulled back in a high man bun, hazel eyes, strong cheekbones and scruffy blonde facial hair.
"H-hi I'm Kagome" she greeted with a smile. "Uhm, what was the question?" she bit her lip with a blush. The man smirked in response, turning his already handsome face to a work of art.
"Sesshoumaru" he greeted, "I wanted to know the difference between a pothos and a philodendron. My sister desires a vining plant and they both look the same to me." he shrugged a broad shoulder carelessly.
"Oh! Come, I'll show you. It's easier with a visual after all" Kagome brightened, able to get past his beauty and treat him like a regular person because they were talking about her favourite subject; plants.
She grabbed his hand absently and tugged him to a part of the front of the nursery that seemed to have a roof of leaves. There were long rows of hanging plants of varying shades of green and yellow variegation, with some vines falling almost to the floor.
Dropping his hand with a blush she tried to ignore the crinkling of his almond shaped eyes as she went into her small lesson. Showing him the differences between two very similar looking plants.
He nodded in understanding before deciding to buy both plants and went on his way. Kagome watched him leave, leaning on the counter dazedly. Shippo watched her warily as she seemed to collect herself and disappear without a word to the back of the shop.
Sesshoumaru walked back into the shop a few weeks later, eyes darting around, looking for the blue-eyed beauty from his last visit. She was charming and he couldn't stop thinking about her even though their interaction was so short. His sister Rin suggested he go back and talk to her, so here he was.
He found her struggling to move a fairly large palm from a wheelbarrow onto a platform. Walking up quickly, he gently took the giant plant and placed it where it seemed she wanted it to go. She looked at him in surprise before a blush blossomed high onto her cheeks.
"Thank you!" she smiled, grateful for his help with the plant that clearly dwarfed her. She wrongly assumed she could have handled it while Shippo was getting lunch. It would not have been a fun clean up if she had toppled over with it.
They spoke for a little before he left, with another plant. Both hesitating and letting the moment pass between them.

A week later, he was back looking sheepish, holding a not so happy looking vine that was droopy with some yellow and browning leaves. She cooed at the plant, inspecting the leaves and stems before smiling up at him.
"Not to worry, you came to the right place." she grinned up at his handsome face, looking away before she started staring. "You just have a small case of overwatering." she continued, giving him tips on when best to water and how. Along with suggestions of the best places to keep it in his home.
They had some more light conversation, staring at each other the entire time, before he left again.

It continued that way for a few more weeks, he would pop by, have a chat and then buy another small plant. Kagome looked forward to each of his visits, wishing and hoping that maybe this time would be when her brain starts working around the incredibly handsome man.
Her best friend Sango suggested that she invite him to lunch, but she could never get her mouth to form the words. She felt like such an idiot. She absentmindedly sprayed some ferns with her hose, lost in thought at her continuous brain farts when it came to the man, so she didn't hear the tinkle of the bell that announced someone's entry to the shop.
The subsequent tap on her shoulder frightened her and she spun with a screech, accidentally dousing the stranger with water.
"Oh, my word, I'm so sorry!" she cried, dropping the hose as if it bit her, taking in the now wet, well dressed Sesshoumaru. He was wiping water from his face, stunned, but she noticed that he didn't seem too mad.
Biting her lip, she grabbed his free hand and made her way to the back, tugging him along. He followed unresistingly. Going through a side door, they entered a stairway that led into a quaint looking kitchen.
Sesshoumaru looked around, wondering where they were. It seemed like an apartment. Looking back to the very contrite raven-haired woman who had disappeared and came back with a thick towel, he couldn't help the warmth in his gaze. He really had it bad.
He took the towel and handed her a bag that had gone without notice until this moment. She looked quizzically at it while he patted his face and hair. Peaking in, she saw bento and internally swooned, before cursing herself. He brought them lunch and she gave him a soaking in return.
"I wondered if you would have lunch with me." He spoke, bringing her attention back to him. Rin had suggested lunch, apparently tired of lack of progress whenever she pumped him for information.
"I would love to." she breathed out, "we could eat while your clothes dry?" she suggested hopefully. "I mean, I'm sorry if I sound presumptuous. I'm not trying to get you naked. I mean- kill me now." she groused, palming her face in embarrassment.
He laughed, the sound echoing in the quiet room. Stepping forward, he took her hand in his and stared deeply into her eyes, "I can't say I have any problems with you trying to get me naked." He teased, watching as her jaw dropped in shock and a blush bloom when she realized what he said.
She rested her head on his chest, wanting to hide in her mortification, he laughed again and used a finger to tilt her chin up. She was biting her lip adorably when their eyes met again and he couldn't stop himself from leaning in and capturing her full lips with his, even if he tried.

Please tell me what you think!
Much love!
