Plot: Kagome tells Sesshoumaru some really good news. Slice of life.
Kagome hummed, shuffling around the kitchen. The electric kettle was bubbling, and she was putting loose tea leaves of her favourite blend in a pot. When the kettle clicked off, she poured the hot water in the teapot and replaced the lid, leaving it to steep.
She cleared off the counter tops just as her husband opened the bathroom door, the steam from his hot shower following him from the humid room.
"Tea?" She asked.
"Coconut chai?" He returned and hummed in pleasure when she nodded. She placed the tea pot on a tray with two cups to bring their beverage into the living room. He scooped the tray up before she could, and she smiled at his back.
He put the tray on a square ottoman, and she poured the flavorful tea into their preferred mugs. Adding honey to his and sugar with creamer to hers she stirred both cups and handed him his own.
They both took a satisfying first sip of the fragrant rooibos tea and got comfortable on the couch, Kagome folded her legs beside her and placed her tea down on the side table.
She looked over at her husband, nervous. He hadn't noticed her, still in the middle of their unwinding tradition. She sighed, grabbed her mug again and sipped her tea, losing her nerve.
Later that night as they laid in bed, she cuddled into his side as he read a novel on his phone. She glanced up at him, taking in his aristocratic frame and was overtaken by awe and happiness that he was hers. That he was theirs.
"I'm pregnant." She whispered, loud enough to be heard over the din of the tv. She felt him freeze beneath her and his hazel eyes sought hers.
"Truly?" He whispered back; his voice higher pitched in wonder. She only nodded and he laid down beside her, pulling her pliant form into him, his head on her shoulder and his hands finding her still flat stomach.
"We're going to have a baby?" He asked again, before kissing her temple and curling his larger frame around hers as if to protect her from the world.
She could only nod and laugh, tearing up at the pure love and excitement in his reaction.
"When did you find out?" He asked after a silent moment. His nose and mouth were pressed in her crook of her neck.
"Last night, I had an idea. I'd been feeling sick for a couple days now and it really just hit me. I took a test today, when that came back positive, I called my doctor and set an appointment for this week." She explained, stroking her fingers over his hand that hadn't left her lower stomach.
He kissed behind her ear, pulling her impossibly closer to him in his happiness.
"What day is the appointment?" He asked finally.
"Friday morning."
"I will put in the request at work. We can tell everyone on Saturday." He kissed her neck this time, running his hand down to her hip and back.
"Ok" she whispered, before he turned her onto her back and showered her with his love.

They spent the week sharing conspiratorial smiles and making love. Kagome blushed every time her eyes locked with his. She smiled wildly when he would hug her from behind, his hands coming to rest over her stomach and kiss her neck or behind her ear.
When they left the doctor's office, ultrasound in hand, he took her home and they cuddled on the couch, content in the knowledge that their little family would soon be bigger. They laid quietly yet excitedly knowing that there were many changes that were going to happen in the next year.
"I love you" she whispered, kissing his shoulder and the underside of his jaw.
"I love you both." He whispered back.

This is the same universe as 'The Argument', BUT I've decided that updates to this universe will be in no way linear. So the next update of this universe could be further in the future or in the past, who knows.
