Prompt: Quality family time is had

The air was still around him; he took a deep breath and felt his body fall deeper into his meditative pose. This was the first time in a week that he'd been able to find a quiet moment and felt a quick practice should realign his chakras and ease his stress. It had been pretty stressful lately, but nothing more than he could handle.

He took another deep breath and jolted when he felt a cold hand grip his shoulder. The smaller hand was followed by another, closer to his neck. He opened one eye and spied his hanger on with an amused snort. A childish giggle was his response as the grasping fingers continued trying to find purchase. Tiny legs kicked his hips, obviously trying to get leverage to climb and his hazel eyes crinkled in affection at the concentration on the cherubic face.

"Hello, you," he greeted, breaking from his meditative posture to grip the arms that were now pulling on his hair. Pulling the toddler around his body, he sat her in his lap, smiling when her bright blue eyes looked up at him in what could only be adoration. Chubby cheeks, smeared with what was clearly lunch, widened in a single tooth grin.

"Are you gonna meditate with me?" He asked, his voice taking on a softer tone. He was rewarded with a happy shriek that widened his smile, he lived for moments like this; 'quiet' times with her.

Reaching for her discarded toy, he got her attention and kissed the top of her head. "Alright, let's play the quiet game for a little." He said with hope, knowing that she wouldn't stay quiet for any length of time but still was willing to try. Easing back into cosmic mudra, he connected his hands around her small body, slipping his eyes closed and grinning to himself when she grabbed his wrists and bobbed her hands up and down.

He took a deep breath, inhaling her unique baby scent that always made him happy with a mixture of her apple scented baby shampoo. His shoulders sagged in relaxation, feeling content with her in his lap, and lazily tried to clear his thoughts.

There were two female giggles, one childish, before the sound of a camera shutter and Sesshoumaru opened his hazel eyes once more, raising an eyebrow at his wife whose face was the perfect picture of awe. Looking down at his giggling daughter, she looked up at him and shrieked, nibbling on her toy. He kissed her forehead, adoration exuding from his whole aura, and stroked her pudgy arms in a calming manner. The child quieted in a way that only he was ever able to accomplish, much to his wife's chagrin.

"I carried you for nine months, I sang to you and kept you warm and happy, for you to be a daddy's girl. The betrayal." Kagome would lament, but the smile on her face would forever betray the wonder in soul. She always enjoyed watching them together.

"Do you want me to take her?" His wife whispered, Sesshoumaru opened one eye to glance at her, the small roundness to her stomach swelling his soul and making his chest puff in pride. She was carrying again, and he already felt the space being carved in his heart for this new little one.

Shaking his head lightly and causing light hair to flow around him, he reveled in the childish squeal.

"No, you should go rest, Setsuna and I shall meditate together." He said with a smirk, cuddling the small body in his lap closer, the babe made a noise of happiness, obviously enjoying the attention from her father.

"Are you sure? I can put her down for a nap with me." She asked again biting her lip, she knew how much he valued his meditation time and recently those moments were rare.

"I love you, go to sleep. We shall be down here plotting against you." He smirked when she rolled her eyes at his use of another of her familiar refrains.

"I love you both." She said with fake exasperation and quit the room. She was extremely tired and was excited at the nap that was sure to come. Keeping up with a toddler was busy work and doing it while pregnant was a whole different monster. She knew she was blessed to have a husband that was an equal partner in their relationship and parenthood and thanked every deity for her good fortune.

Laying in their bed, Kagome nosed her husband's pillow and smiled in contentment. One hand laid almost protectively across her small bump, stroking the firmer skin that signified their new addition.

"I pray you're on my side, little one." She mumbled with a half chuckle. Sleep overtook her as she imagined future cuddles with a blonde haired, hazel eyed gift of love.

Hi all, I'm still battling a block of epic proportions. I have so many incomplete works it isn't funny. Hopefully I push through and get some things done. In the interim, I hope you enjoyed this, another slice of life with our fave couple.

Much love!
