That weekend, Troy was waiting at the entrance of the park for Gabriella to arrive to their date. He smiled as she walked towards him, kissing his cheek in greeting. He grabbed her hand and made her twirl around, making her giggle as he looked at her outfit. She was wearing a pink strapless dress (from the picnic in HSM 2) and her hair was down in curls. As she faced him again, he smiled down at her. "Beautiful"

She blushed and bit her lip. "Well you look pretty handsome yourself Wildcat." Noting his plaid flannel and light jeans (All For One). "So what's the plan for today."

He took her hand and started walking before he responded. "Well I figured we could hang out here for a while and maybe get some ice-cream if you wanted to later on but for now, I set up a picnic and we could just talk and mess around and have fun."

Gabriella looked at Troy's set up for their date, it was nothing extravagant but it was really cute and sweet. "You did this for me?"

He inwardly frowned at her insecurity but smiled at her gently, moving a strand of her hair. "Of course I did, I wanted our first date to be special Baby." The grin she gave him made him smile as she pulled him over to the picnic blanket, sitting side by side. "Are you hungry?" At her nod, he opened the picnic basket. "Well I've got some fruit and sandwiches and a couple brownies from my mom."

"Is she ok that we're dating?"

Troy scrunched his face in confusion. "Why wouldn't she be ok that we're dating? Actually she's ecstatic about it, I think my mom already loves you, in her words, she's glad I'm going out with a genuine girl with substance."

Gabriella bit her lip, smiling. "I'm glad she's ok with it. I really like you and I'd hate for you to get in trouble for going out with me."

He shook his head. "I wouldn't get in trouble and I like you too Brie." He noticed her face scrunch slightly. "What is it?"

She shook her head. "Nothing, it's really stupid honestly." At his stern look, she sighed. "I don't know why, I just hate when people say the word too. I'm fine saying it with my brothers and sisters because it's different in that situation, they're my family. I just hate using the word too, it just feels like you're agreeing to whatever was said." She saw that he was about to interrupt. "I know you're not just agreeing with me, it's just something that I've had for a while.

He kissed her forehead. "That's ok Brie, I get it and in a way I understand what you mean. How about we say that too is banned from our vocabulary." She giggled in response to his statement before they started eating the food that Troy had brought.

After they'd finished the food, they'd taken to lying down on the blanket and looking up at the clouds. They both laid on their backs but Gabriella's head rested on his chest with his left arm wrapped around her, resting on her stomach. She lifted his right hand and held hers against his before intertwining their fingers and letting them fall in the middle of their bodies. After a few minutes silence, Gabriella moved herself so that she was face to face with Troy, her upper body resting on his chest. "Thank you for bringing me here and setting this up, I know we haven't done much but it's been the most fun I've had in a while and I love spending time with you."

He toyed with one of her curls before responding. "No thank yous, I wanted to make your first date special, I'm glad you're enjoying yourself and I love spending time with you."

"You have made it special Troy, it's been perfect."

"I'm glad Baby. I know that all of this is new to you and that it's your first time experiencing these things, that's why it's so important to me. I know that each new milestone in our relationship is a first for you and I want to make sure that when you look back on the memories, that you'll be happy. I just want to make you feel special Brie."

His statement made her melt. "You are so cute Wildcat."

Before she knew what was happening, Troy manoeuvred them so Gabriella had her back on the ground and he propped himself on his side before he started tickling her. Her giggle was infectious and he smiled at the blush that worked its way onto her cheeks as she tried to escape his hands.

The air between them changed as he stopped his attack. He was hovering over her and her eyes flicked to his lips before meeting the gaze of his blue orbs. He placed his hand on her ribs and slowly leant towards her. His eyes flickered from her eyes to her lips and back again, warning her of his actions and giving her the chance to push him away. Their lips met softly and Gabriella wound her arms around his neck.

He pulled away and smiled at the blissful expression on her face, her eyes still closed. He leant in for another kiss, this time, his tongue rubbed against her bottom lip and she tensed. The tension in her body evaporated as she felt his hand gently rub her side and she opened her mouth, the intensity of the kiss rising as his tongue entered her mouth.

When they pulled away this time, Troy traced the outline of her face with his fingertips, smiling gently at her. Her eyes stayed closed at the feeling before locking with Troy's. "Wow."

"You're so cute Baby." She pouted in response, making him laugh before kissing her nose. "I mean it, you're really cute and there's nothing wrong with that... Was that ok with you?"

She nodded shyly. "I liked it... Was I ok?"

"Of course you were Sweetheart, you shouldn't doubt yourself. I know you feel like you're inexperienced but that's ok, we'll learn it together."

This time it was Gabriella who connected their lips in a soft kiss. They spent the rest of their day talking, teasing and having fun while exchanging a few kisses.
