Author's Notes; Mythological AU. Shounen Ai and R18 scenes towards the end. There's always one or two out there that are very desperate..They end up being in the mermaid group in the lake..and there may be others elsewhere..Please enjoy.
Lily greeted X with a warm smile. "Good morning." X smiled back, coming out of the cave. "Good morning, Lily. Is something wrong?" The redhead mermaid shook her head. "No, Mr. Vampire asked me to watch you." X looked puzzled and tilted his head. "What? But how? We didn't come out here last night." Lily chuckled. "Seems he forgot to tell you. He is a little bit psychic. He can talk telepathically if he needs something." She said, starting to swim away from the cave and further down the lake. X followed her with a nod. "Oh, that's why."
Lily stopped in a deeper part of the lake and rested on a large rock and X stayed close as he looked around. The sky was clear with deer in the meadow, a few getting a drink from the lake. The lake seemed quiet, except for Lily and X. "If he wants you looked after, then I think Zero loves you already." X blushed and looked down into the water. "You think so?" Lily nodded. "He seems very interested in you. In fact, you're the only one he's shown such interest in. Some of the mermaids stay out late just to see him, but he stays away. Supposedly, he also has an unwanted admirer from the Forest of Chaos. Best to avoid her if you can." X nodded back, looking at her. "Yeah, he mentioned her. I hope she stays away."
More of the mermaids began to stir as morning became afternoon. Lily had gathered some seaweed and fish for everyone. X sat on another large rock with some seaweed. The mermaids had been giving him sultry looks and staring at his lower body. Just beyond the base of his tail were two white protrusions. These were X's claspers. X wished he could hide them, but he couldn't. The looks they got him made him a little nervous. He felt more uncomfortable when he realized he was the only merman there. Two of the mermaids slowly swam to his rock, licking their lips at him. Their looks made X move up on the rock a little. When he did, the mermaids jumped at him, holding him down and each took a clasper in her mouth, sucking them hungrily.
Lily acted quickly, shooing the two mermaids away. "I'm so sorry, some of these mermaids are rather desperate. There are no mermen here, other than you. Hopefully, they'll move on to the ocean someday instead of harassing you." X nodded, rubbing his sore claspers which now had lots of bite marks and looked a little red at their tips. "I hope so too. I wonder if even Zero can fix this." Lily chuckled. "I'm sure he can. I suppose if you're romantically involved with Zero, I should explain myself." X looked at Lily. "Explain what?" Lily swam to X's rock. "I guess you can call me Zero's foster mother. His birth mother found and nursed me. After she died, I felt bad for him, having to forage and hunt for food on his own at such a young age. He is outnumbered here by the werewolves, so the cave is the safest place for him. They hate the water." X nodded. "Yeah, he told about all that. Poor thing. I feel sorry for him. I want to live here with him. He even invited me into that cave." Lily smiled. "I think both of you are safest in the Forbidden Cave, but whatever you do, never venture into the Forest of Chaos nor the River of Blood. Both are horrible dangerous places, as I hope he's advised."
Most of the mermaids went away as the sun set, leaving just X and Lily. X had gone back into the water to help soothe the pain in his claspers. Zero had woken up and walked into the water. He spied X and Lily and quietly made his way to X while X was talking and listening to Lily.
Lily chuckled when she saw Zero and pointed beside X. X looked behind him and smiled happily. "Why, hello, sunshine." Zero shook his head with a chuckle, able to stand up in the water. The water reached the top of his shorts. X turned to face him, crawling onto the rock. "How are you?" "I feeleth quite content, dearest. And thou?" Zero answered and asked. "A little sore, but content too." X answered, admiring the blond. He couldn't help but stare at the trail of hairs that led into Zero's shorts. Zero looked at X in concern. "Whereth and why art thou sore? Hath something transpired upon thee?" X nodded, slowly hugging Zero's waist. "Yeah..my claspers got sucked and bitten. They hurt."
Zero looked up at Lily as he reached a careful hand to pet X's head. Lily nodded. "That is a shark's and merman's equivalent to your..length. Though, they have two." Zero then looked down at X. "So if I dareth believeth that, then thou art telling me thou hath been raped." X nodded sadly. "Yeah..that's the word." Zero growled a little. "This is something I shalt not stand for. Let me seeth thy wounds." X slowly shifted his lower body up. His sore claspers stuck up into the air for Zero to see. Zero observed the wounds and X's claspers. "Intolerable...though I can heal thee. That is, if thou art comfortable with me touching thee in yon region.." X nodded, letting go of Zero's waist and giving the rim of his navel a slow gentle lick. "I trust you, Zero...but perhaps we should...go somewhere more private?" Zero nodded and lifted X into his arms. "Agreed. Let us awayeth, dearest." He said, carrying X back down the lake. X clung tightly to him, snuggling Zero's chest. The warmth of Zero's body almost made him forget his wounds.
