Rowena wrinkled her nose as she looked up from the Book, scrutinizing each of the archangels and Adam with a stare - so serious, so intense - that almost made the demon uncomfortable.

Once again, he wasn't sure how to feel about the witch. The expression on her face, the stern demeanor she held, she reminded him of his mother when he was being scolded for something, when he was younger. Michael shifted back on their feet a little in response to that, and Adam had to physically restrain himself from rolling their eyes in response, even though the archangel's protectiveness tickled him more than he wanted to admit to anyone else but Michael. "Are you sure we can't just lure him out of Heaven? If he's even there to begin with, I mean," Rowena began, her mouth still opened to continue, but she offered a slight pause upon seeing Michael's reaction; Adam could already feel the apprehension stirring in his gut, the frown tugging at their lips, and he watched as the witch seemed to soften in response. "Well, I'm simply saying, dear. This is an awful lot of planning for something we don't even know is happening," she insisted, shutting the Book. Adam made a face despite himself at that, watching Lucifer and Gabriel trade glances out of the corner of his eye. The youngest shrugged.

"How much work will it take to check?" Gabriel stepped forward, brushing past Lucifer to walk over to Rowena. Adam couldn't help but roll his eyes this time as he watched them; Michael seemed less amused, but the archangel couldn't resist a smile. Adam could feel it tugging away at the corners of their lips, but he let it stay after a moment. "Just a quick in and out. It won't-"

"Yeah, send a select few to see if Dad's in Heaven," Lucifer interrupted. Gabriel shot him a glare, but there didn't seem to be any real hostility in his eyes. Lucifer simply arched an eyebrow back at him in response. "Then we can alert him to our presence and scare him off again. Then we have to start over." The Devil seemed grumpy - and rightfully so - but it didn't quite prevent a flare of amusement as Adam watched him. He understood the reason for Lucifer's bad mood, of course he did, but he was taking what he could get at the moment. He was still a little pissed about the deal Lucifer had made - he did understand, to an extent, but that didn't mean he was letting him off that easily. So watching him grump and pace around, for now, was good enough until Adam had the chance to get a punch in - and believe me, he was going for it when he did.

Just as long as I can warn him first, Michael chuckled. Adam smirked.

Rowena sighed, as Gabriel rolled his eyes at his older brother's antics. "Are you sure you're not jumping the gun here?" The witch finally prompted. Straight to the point, which Adam couldn't help but admire to some extent. He'd support Michael, of course, but he agreed with Rowena on this one. And Gabriel, for that matter - but in a way he also agreed with Lucifer, only on the front that it was pretty stupid to just send a few of them into Heaven at a time to see what was going on. Hell, this entire thing was stupid. None of them had any way of knowing if Chuck was in Heaven or not. They couldn't confirm it. "We can't exactly go storming Heaven for no reason."

Lucifer shrugged, leaning back. "It'd be better for us to stay together. That way, if he is in Heaven, we'll be able to attack quickly and efficiently. If he's not, then there's no real harm done, is there? But if he is, and only a few of us go and scare him off - or worse, provoke him…"

He didn't need to finish. Adam understood at once, and even Gabriel seemed to relent after a moment. It didn't quite stop either of them from frowning in Lucifer's direction; the youngest archangel was the first to give in, hanging his head with a somewhat frustrated look before it dissolved into resignation, and then a hint of worry before that was gone, too; Adam studied him for a moment, intrigued, but he turned his attention away quickly enough after a few moments. They had more important things to worry about; Adam, for once, was content to let them plan out the whole God thing - he wanted to focus more on the deal Lucifer made, and how he could weasel the Devil out of it. Admittedly, he didn't have many options considering he didn't know exactly how the Empty worked, but he was working on it. "Okay, maybe there's a point there," Gabriel conceded with a sigh. He shut his mouth after that, sinking down into a chair dejectedly.

Rowena still looked skeptical, but Gabriel's acquiesce seemed to be all it took to convince her. "Well, if you're sure about this…" She trailed off, looking down at the Book, and sighed. But she smiled as she looked back up at them regardless, an almost amused glitter in her eyes now. Tinged with defeat, but something she was taking good-naturedly regardless. Something that, once again, reminded Adam of his mother - and something that once again left him with a pang in his chest, a confusingly numb but aching, hollow feeling he couldn't quite place at the moment. He knew it might be grief, or something close to it, but he wasn't sure what to make of it just yet. "I'll see what I can do. For you," she added that last part to Gabriel, who smirked.

"Well, I certainly appreciate that."

Michael smirked. Adam rolled their eyes. "Get a room already, you two."

That got a laugh out of Lucifer, which wasn't really Adam's intent, but the excitement and happiness that flushed through Michael at the sound was more than worth it, so he let it rest.

He let his thoughts trail for a moment instead, settling on the situation with Chuck briefly. Whatever Chuck might be playing at, if he was in Heaven, Adam had a bad feeling about it. Even from the short, brief conversations he'd had with the guy, and the memories he'd sifted through from Michae's end, Adam knew he was far from stupid. That didn't quite mean he was the sharpest tool in the shed and Adam was aware of that, as well, but if he was smart enough to keep himself hidden for millennia before this without any problems, Adam had a feeling that there would only be two reasons they'd be able to catch up to him. One being that Chuck was severely weakened at the moment, and likely too angry to keep much of a distance anyway. Two being Chuck wants them to find him - but if that is the case, or that becomes the case, Adam knew they had to be especially careful. Because if Chuck wanted to face them, then he must have some kind of plan - either that, or he really did overestimate the man's intelligence.

He wasn't sure. But, again, he pushed the thought away for the moment; they would handle the fighting God stuff. Adam wanted to focus on Lucifer's deal; the window was closing, rapidly. Once they took care of Chuck, it was over, and Adam had to make sure that didn't happen. He'd seen the Empty - he knew freeing Lucifer from the deal wasn't going to be an easy task at all…

… but he didn't care. He wasn't losing anyone else. He wasn't losing Lucifer, not again, not after the grief he'd gone through. And if Lucifer wasn't talking to anyone else yet, and Adam couldn't get anyone else's opinion on the situation, Adam resolved to speak to the Empty himself eventually. He wasn't sure when he'd get the chance, or even if he would get the chance, but it was going to happen - and it was going to happen before it had the chance to take Lucifer away. Michael wasn't losing a brother, and Adam wasn't losing a friend - even though it pained him to his very core to consider Lucifer that at all, even internally - no matter what the hell happened.

His thoughts trailed for a while, until movement in the doorway caught Michael's attention; Adam rose back to control slowly upon seeing Sam enter, the hunter clearly having just woken up if his messy hair and the way he kept rubbing his eyes was any indication. And the demon wouldn't admit it, but he was rather pleased to see Dean trailing along behind him; understandably, his oldest brother looked positively exhausted, but unharmed. Actually, at the moment, he looked a little better than even Sam did; Adam couldn't help but smirk to himself at that as the rest of his worry - concerns he didn't even know were there to begin with - fizzled out completely. Dean was alright, and awake now; they were all back together, and ready to plan this out as a team. "Ah, sleeping beauty," he greeted his oldest brother, with a quick nod of greeting toward Sam.

Dean blinked back at him for a moment, while Michael stifled his laughter by clearing their throat. Adam couldn't help but grin a little wider when Dean spoke. "Knowing Michael, that was Adam." A faint smile tugged at the oldest Winchester's lips, just for a moment. Adam couldn't help but mirror it, if only for a few seconds. It seemed like everyone had missed them being together, not just the demon and the archangel. Hell, Dean looked thrilled at that fact, and judging by the conversation they'd had, it didn't seem to be because he was glad to be rid of Michael. He marveled over that for a moment, though, how much everything had changed so quickly when he wasn't even around to see it - not that he was complaining on that front. It was good that Michael had a chance to redeem himself in the hunter's eyes, even if he had to do it on his own. A part of Adam even dared to venture that that was probably the best way to do it, considering his own patience with his oldest brother had been wearing thin very, very quickly.

"There's only one person I would compare to a Disney princess," Michael murmured as Adam tuned back in, and the demon couldn't help but quirk an eyebrow in response to that, genuinely curious. Michael paused, seemingly for dramatic effect, and once he was sure that he had everyone else's attention, the archangel added with a faint smirk, "and Adam's Jasmine."

Adam laughed at that, but Sam and Dean both shot Michael quizzical looks in response - to which the archangel seemed to deflate a little, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion. "From Al-"

"I know who Princess Jasmine is," Dean interrupted.

"He watches Disney movies religiously," Sam added, earning a somewhat offended look from their oldest brother in response, but Adam couldn't stifle a brief flicker of amusement - and even some curiosity at that. Aladdin had been his favorite Disney movie growing up, and that had followed him even when he'd turned eighteen. He couldn't count how many times a year he'd watched the movie simply because he didn't have anything else he had to be doing. He'd just sit down with some popcorn - and maybe his mother, if she was available - and watch Aladdin. Thinking back now, Adam's lips tugged upwards just the slightest bit. Michael knew his favorite movie, of course. They'd gone through practically every memory of Adam's, with nothing much better to do during the years they were together, and the demon had even managed to get the archangel to sit down and watch it with him. He could recite the lines by heart, knew the words to every song. Michael didn't get it the first time - but after watching through the whole movie for the third time, he caught the archangel humming along when 'A Whole New World' was playing.

"Like you don't," Dean mumbled.

Sam shrugged. "Hey, I'm not the one who quotes Elsa, so-"

"So, enough of that! Anyway," Dean interrupted, and Sam shot him a somewhat amused look in response as the hunter stepped further into the room, while Adam shook their head slightly in an attempt to force himself to focus on the present again instead of the past. There would be much more time for reminiscing later; right now, they had God and he had Lucifer to worry about. Lucifer tilted his head as the hunter approached, managing to look a little bewildered, and Adam glanced over in time to see that Rowena had opened the Book of the Damned again, scanning through it calmly while Gabriel leaned over her shoulder to read - though he looked confused.

"So we've got a situation," the youngest archangel finally declared, lifting his head to look toward Sam and Dean again. Dean didn't seem too curious, dropping down into one of the chairs and scrubbing a hand down his face. Sam was a little slower to come inside, and both Michael and Adam were somewhat surprised when he ended up stopping beside Lucifer. The Devil himself looked a little surprised - and somewhat uncomfortable? - but he didn't move.

Sam leaned forward and braced his hands on the table, mirroring Lucifer's earlier position, and Adam couldn't help but smirk to himself. "Yeah, Cas said that the Cage was ready."

"It is. Now we just need a battle plan," Lucifer sighed. He settled himself back against the wall, eyeing the hunter for a moment; his bad mood seemed to have fizzled out significantly, or at the very least he seemed a little less frustrated than he had before. Michael seemed satisfied with that, somewhat glad, but Adam was more or less curious by the sudden shift in his demeanor when Sam had entered, but he wasn't sure what to make of it. "Where is Cassie, anyway?" Lucifer asked suddenly, shooting a glance toward Dean briefly, then looking back toward Sam. "We figured some things out and I don't think he's gonna be too happy about it."

Oh… Michael grimaced. Definitely not.

"Went to find Crowley," Dean explained, kicking his feet up onto the table. He was quick to remove them, however, at a biting glare from Rowena in response - and Adam was once again reminded of his mother, but he couldn't bite back a snicker in time. "Jack went to get Jesse."

Michael exhaled sharply at that, and Adam nodded slightly. Lucifer seemed rather satisfied with that, too; the Devil ended up sinking back against the wall completely and sliding down to sit on the floor. Michael was pretty quick to follow; Adam crossed their legs Indian-style in response and hooked their arms around the back of their head, leaning back with a quiet sigh. Jesse… right, not really a point in keeping him cooped up in the Empty anymore, was there? Chuck already knew about Lucifer, probably already knew Jesse was in on it, knew they were planning something. Adam narrowed his eyes faintly for a moment, dropping their arms and crossing them in their lap instead. Michael hunched forward, tugging their arms tighter around them.

"So what's the plan with Chuck?" Dean asked after a moment. He looked toward the doorway, and Adam briefly followed his gaze, but there wasn't anyone there. "Gotta find the bastard…" Dean trailed off, a sparkle of frustration entering his eyes for a second. Sam heaved out a quiet sigh that sounded like agreement, and Adam managed to tug his lips into a dry smile.

Rowena glanced up, briefly looking amused. "The Holy Trinity thinks he's hiding out in Heaven."

Adam huffed out a laugh at that as Rowena tilted her head toward the archangels, and shrugged at the glances Sam and Dean threw toward them in response. "I'm still on the fence."

"Heaven? That's…" Sam shook his head.

Dean grunted, crossing his arms with a frown. "Difficult."

Adam rolled his eyes despite himself. Difficult didn't even begin explaining it.

Hopefully Rowena can figure out something… Michael sighed, flicking their gaze toward Rowena briefly. Adam fell silent; he didn't need to say anything for Michael to know he agreed. That much, itself, was rather obvious. At the very least, if she can get us into Heaven, maybe the plan will be easier to execute. We corner him, take him by surprise, and the Empty sucks him in before too much can be done. He won't be able to fight once we get him inside… Michael trailed off, and shook their head a little as he added, not as much anyway.

It's a good plan, Adam agreed, puffing his cheeks out. Just hope it works. Just hope we can figure out what to do about Lucifer first, before… He didn't need to finish. Michael understood.

I know. We'll figure it out, Michael added, together.

Of course, Adam knew what he meant by that. Together - the two of them. Maybe the three of them, if Lucifer wanted it. But the image that flashed through his mind wasn't just two or three people; the idea, the picture the words brought, it was all of them. Everyone. Them, Gabriel, Castiel, Amara, Sam and Dean, Rowena and Crowley, Jack and Jesse. Everyone up against the Empty, not quite fighting, but protecting. The image he got was them protecting Lucifer, one of their own. Because he was now. After everything he had done, everything he was doing.

It was a spontaneous idea, but it was an idea, and one Adam was determined to see through. Judging by the pride, the agreement stirring in Michael's chest, he wasn't the only one.

"I hear we're ready to slam God's righteous arse into the doggy crate once and for all," Crowley's voice drew them out of their thoughts; the demon glanced up and arched an eyebrow at the other, as he entered the room with Amara and Castiel in tow. Crowley looked positively elated, whereas Amara and Castiel both held completely serious expressions; Michael's gaze briefly strayed to his aunt, and Adam arched an eyebrow at her as she glanced over at them, but the archangel was quick to turn his gaze back to Castiel. A faint smile tugged at Michael's lips and Adam resisted the urge to roll his eyes in response - mostly because Castiel seemed to relax the moment he saw the reassuring expression, offering a nod back at Michael in response. The angel's blue eyes then flicked toward Dean, a flicker of relief crossing his face.

"That's the plan, anyway," Gabriel replied. "We-"

"Yeah, let's wait until the gang's all here before we dive into this conversation," Adam interrupted, and the youngest archangel snapped his mouth shut to look over at them, furrowing his eyebrows slightly in response. Adam arched an eyebrow back at him, but he let his expression settle again after a moment, shrugging. "I don't feel like sitting through listening to you explain it a bunch of times. It'd be easier to just save the explanation for everybody."

Gabriel grunted, but relented.

Adam settled back again, and Michael looked up as Amara crossed the room to sit down. "So, I was thinking," she began suddenly, sitting down and clasping her hands together on the table.

"Must've hurt," Lucifer commented, and Michael shot his brother a look. Lucifer looked somewhat surprised at first, but it fizzled out to a grin after a moment; Adam himself couldn't help but smirk, because despite Michael's silent scolding and chiding glance toward Lucifer, he could feel the amusement stirring in the archangel's chest at his brother's comment anyway.

"That… sword he made," Amara continued, but not before she spared Lucifer a glare of her own, one that didn't quite speak of irritation or hostility, but an expression that flickered with amusement, a teasing 'shut up' look. Adam's resolve was further strengthened by that, by the fact that Amara would most likely be willing to help them stand up against the Empty on Lucifer's behalf. But he turned his attention back to what she was saying after a moment, narrowing his eyes when he realized she was mentioning the sword Chuck had conjured up, the ony that had very nearly taken his best friend away from him. "It could very well be used as a weapon against him. Since we were talking about healing him first - if we have that handy…" A thoughtful look crossed Amara's face, and Michael seemed to perk up a little bit himself as he listened. Adam was quick to follow on that front, the realization that the sword could definitely be used against Chuck - and the irony that came with it - sparking up a dark sense of excitement. "Maybe infuse it with some of Jack's Grace…" Amara added, and then trailed off again, thinking.

"It might be enough to weaken him," Michael finished excitedly.

Amara nodded, glancing down at her nephew with a faint smirk tugging at her lips now. "At least enough to execute the plan," she replied. Adam couldn't bite back a grin in time; yes, he definitely liked that plan. And he was more than willing to be the one to deliver that blow. Lucifer seemed ready to speak, his own excitement clear in his eyes as he opened his mouth, but he didn't get the chance to say whatever was on his mind; his gaze flicked toward the left and Michael followed it quickly, watching as Jack and Jesse entered the room one after the other, both of them grinning ear to ear. Jack beamed at everyone as they walked in, but Jesse was quick to school his features into the emotionless expression Adam still couldn't understand.

"Gang's all here now," Crowley commented with a glance toward Adam, who arched an eyebrow back at him in response. But he looked away when Castiel moved, making his way over to Jack's side; Michael's gaze slid toward Lucifer suddenly, noting the way the Devil watched the two as they grouped together, as Jack offered Castiel a bright smile while Castiel simply glanced him over as if to make sure he was okay, pausing beside him. Lucifer lowered his chin and glanced at Michael and Adam, but he looked away quickly when he realized they'd been watching them, turning his attention back to Crowley again instead. "Care to explain?"

"Right." Lucifer cleared his throat. "Basically…"

"We're going to Heaven," Gabriel finished bluntly, and Michael and Adam nodded.

Watching everyone's reaction to that was rather amusing; Crowley's eyebrows shot up in an instant, looking genuinely caught off guard by that. Jesse himself looked more curious than anything, tilting his head at Gabriel. But Castiel and Jack looked positively taken aback, exchanging bewildered glances before turning and sweeping their gazes around. Castiel looked skeptical, Adam noted, as if he expected this to be some kind of joke. Adam watched him until the angel's expression shifted, the realization slowly creeping in that they were serious. "Why?" He finally demanded, turning his gaze back to Gabriel. Lucifer had been right, he didn't look happy; if anything, on top of looking confused, he looked almost angry at the idea. Michael furrowed their eyebrows slightly, studying his younger brother curiously as Adam leaned back.

Gabriel opened his mouth. Another voice interjected. "Because that's where God is."

Everyone's head turned toward the doorway at once. Adam narrowed his eyes faintly when he saw Billie standing there, her grip around her scythe so tight her knuckles were almost white. Adam felt his stomach twist at once, but he didn't know whether it was his reaction or Michael's.

"He's made his presence known," Billie continued, a scowl tugging at her lips. Michael inhaled sharply and then held his breath. Adam had to force them to breathe. "He wants us to face him."
