Hey Guys! Here's an update for Revenge.

Tala's eyes grew wide at the now-familiar sound of sirens, it seemed to follow them everywhere nowadays. His barely concealed rage was ready to come out. After looking around the room he got confirmed he was not the only one with that sentiment.

"Did you call them?" Bryan gritted his teeth.

"I didn't. But they seem to have traced you." Voltaire smirked which didn't help their mood. Bryan leaped toward him but was held back by Spencer, he wanted to rip the smirk off that man.

"No Bryan. You cannot hurt him. We need him."

"At least one of you have a head between his shoulders."

"How can we get out of here?" Tala knew they were closing in, this was the first time he was thankful for the house being so big. Ian's face was pale with worry, he had not said a single word.

Voltaire folded his arms behind his back, "The only thing I'm going to tell my favorite pet-" he ignored Tala's glare and simply continued,"- is to find the sphinx statue and a puzzle. Only it can lead you out."

That snapped Ian out of his stance, "That's it? So what you're saying is that we should find this stupid statue in your ginormous house and get caught." He trembled at the ridiculousness, help be damned they should let Bryan do a good number on him.

Voltaire graced Ian with a cold glare that could freeze an ocean, "I cannot believe you managed to stay alive in the abbey that long, no will whatsoever. A failure and a coward indeed. Maybe the project was doomed from the beginning." There was a bare disappointment in his voice, he turned his back to them facing the window like there was no-one else in the room.

This was the moment, Tala could kill him, no one would know. Would they? They were already being framed, what was the harm in one more?

He shook his head; slapping himself mentally. No, no, the boys didn't deserve it, more so Voltaire didn't deserve it. He should rot here all alone till the end.

He contemplated his choices and his priority was getting himself and the boys out from here, safe and secure. He nodded at Spencer and saw the same determination in his eyes. Whether they would get out of here or not, they would be together.

He took a hold of Ian's shoulder and pulled him toward the door, Spencer did the same with Bryan but was shrugged off.

Tala sent a last loathing glance at Voltaire and left the room.

They were on their own.

And they had to save themselves from this disaster.

If the police found them, their game would be over. No one would believe them and rotting in jail is something he liked to associate with Boris, not them.

They couldn't get caught. Not like this. No, They would not.

They reached the hallway, where the butler had escorted them to the room. There were two wings of the house and they had no freaking idea where that statue was. Tala could only hope that Voltaire was telling the truth and there was a way that would get them out of this cursed place.

"Ian comes with me and you two go to the right. If anyone finds the statue, leave a text. Don't shout." He warned and then turned his back with Ian silently following him while Bryan and Spencer moved towards the right-wing of this giant hulk-sized house.

There was a reason why Kai never fit among them, he made his decision alone. That was not how a pack works, even the lone wolf heed to his pack, and 'this was his pack.'

Spencer's face was set in a slight frown, while Bryan scowled at everything he saw. They were all Voltaire's things, they must be cursed as the old man. Part of him wanted to burn this damned place down.

Everything from the carpet, the carving on the doors or the unlit lamps hanging overhead, looked straight out of a British royalty-centric daily soap's haunted version. It was old and creepy.

Spencer let out a sigh as he soaked in every detail but the back of his mind was working up numerous possibilities. Even if they didn't do anything, the imposter at the morgue was confident in his claim. They just had something over them, because they had no relation with that Micheal Phillip. Except for Tala's reaction and Ian's bizarre explanation. Someone was pulling strings but that was a worry for later.

They kept running but found nothing except rows of rooms and rooms. Bryan was sick of it. Why the heck did this old man has so many rooms for just himself? Maybe he was a serial killer in secret and stored the bodies here.

They were just going to enter another hallway when he looked at a painting hanging there. It was white with a lion roaring on it. But what attracted him was the weird marking on its right bottom. He looked closely and saw that there was some sort of marking, he didn't know what it was but his gut was saying it was something.

"What do you think it is?" Bryan quirked an eyebrow at Spencer.

"For a man obsessed with phoenixes, there were an awful lot of lions here."

His phone went off silently, he looked at the screen, "Ian found something. Come on." He took a photo of the painting.

No other words were needed to be said. They both began sprinting towards the opposite side.

Tala was sure, they were currently right in the middle of the whole structure. There was a tall statue of a sphinx in the middle, it had the head of a woman, body of a lion, wings of an eagle, and tail of a snake that didn't feel like it's attached well. In front of her was a square tile that looked detached from the rest of the floor. In its corner mini figurines sat facing the center, where a cylindrical pillar was standing.

Tala glanced at the walls noticing a lot of paintings of the same animals hung on the walls.

He looked at Ian who was trying to move the pillar, "Just looking." Ian shrugged and moved to the mini statue which he picked up very easily. "Woah, it moved."

"Put it down, you don't know what it does."

"And you do?"

Tala huffed.

"You think, we'll be able to brave this one out?"

"You could bet your nose, we will," Bryan said as he sprinted in with Spencer.

Ian gave Bryan a middle finger.

"So this is the statue. What now?" Spencer said looking it over.

Bryan touched the statue at different places, "There could be a button here and there."

"Oh my god, Bryan stop molesting it."

Bryan glared at Ian, "Do you have a better idea?"

"Bryan found encryption, it was some symbols in a painting on the other side, there were lions all over there," Spencer said ignoring the other two.

"It could be a clue. You should've looked it over carefully."

"It's not in legible, else we had done it on our own." Bryan snapped.

Spencer took out his phone and held it for Tala, "I took its photo."

Tala zoomed the photo by pinching the screen. "It something old, but it's something."

It was like somebody zapped him with a stun gun, his vision was gone, all he saw a grid of numbers. The moment it returned he let out a muffled scream. Spencer held him up and tapped his cheek, "Tala, Tala, you still here." Ian and Bryan stared at his concern.

"Put him down," Ian said. Tala blinked, his body was slow to respond. He tried to stretch his muscles.

Doorbell rung they could hear the clamor of feet from every direction, closing in on them.

A cliffhanger!

I always divide the chapter at a cliffhanger. Rolls I promised I'll update today. Here it is.

Please read and review. We have lots of views but very little reviews.

Lots of love. From both of us!
