Tommy was holding Shana as she wept and Luca held Ollie who actually looked uncomfortable as they stared at Damian, who now laid dead in front of us. I silently fell to my knees as my mind flashed back.
I saw his eyes shaking madly and his tears flowing like rivers. "No one can help me. I… I'm not going to… to survive this."
"This can't be happening… we promised to help him… so why? WHY IS DAMIAN DEAD!?" I screamed out as tears overflowed, clouding my vision. I soon felt powerfully strong arms wrap my trembling frame and instantly recognized them. I hugged Luca back and wept in his shoulder. "Why'd he have to die!? I'm sick of my friends dying like this! We don't deserve this!"
"Well, he certainly did." A strong and feminine voice responded from the doorway behind me and I growl also knowing who that was.
Melinda and Paul now walked in with Willie not far behind. Willie soon saw Damian's body and then his body shook. "I can't believe it. Someone took down Damian? This is… unforgivable! Why him?"
Paul chuckled. "I think it's obvious why he died."
I felt an inferno engulf me as I stood up and got in his face before my mind realized that. "Enlighten me then," I said in a tone that dared him to do it.
Of course, he was unflinching as he humored me, knowing full well what I might do with what he says. He then replied, "He must be the traitor. Someone got scared the traitor would kill them. Probably because of the motive they got from Monokuma. Also thanks to the fact Damian was promised leniency to leave for whatever reason and when Monokuma refused he became desperate. I'll bet he attempted to kill someone so he could get out and then died like that traitor he was."
Again, in my blinding rage, I found my body acting before I could think as I took a swing at Paul. But before I could connect, I felt a sharp pain strike in my gut that sent me reeling back. I fell back to my knees now leaning forward, clenching my stomach in pain as I saw Melinda standing protectively in front of Paul with the butt of her rifle.
"Kai!" I heard Luca scream out as he rushed to my side.
"Don't you try to harm the Great Protector," Melinda warned us.
"Fucking what?" Shana growled out.
Paul rolled his eyes. "She's given me this dumb name and is insistent on calling me that. But as long as she does her job in protecting me then I don't have too much to complain about."
"Kai, are you okay, pal? You can't lose your cool now. After all, we have a bigger problem," Luca said calmly to me.
I soon realized what an idiot I must have looked like there. 'He's right. I can't lose my temper like that. The others are freaking out enough as it is and I'm not making it any better. I need to keep my act together for everyone's sake.'
Then from the entryway, we heard that all too familiar cackle. Monokuma appeared and entered the room. "Great work, everyone!"
"But we haven't even started yet," Ollie deadpanned at him.
"Well, it was more so for the one who finally made this killing game interesting again. So, thank you Mr. or Miss Blackened for helping this killing game get rolling again!" Monokuma shouted out happily as the rest of us were once again left to look at each other in suspicion, fearing the one next to us is Damian's murderer.
"I assume you have what we'll need?" Willie asked Monokuma.
He nodded in response. "Indeedleedoo! With me, I bring the fourth Monokuma File!"
He held out the eight files for us as we all took one. "Now then, you best start your search! Will you be able to solve this case or will the blackened deceive the spotless? I'm thrilled to see how this will play out!" And after his laughter that always sent chills down my spine, he left us alone with Damian's lifeless corpse.
Luca saw me drop my head after I looked away from Damian's body, feeling such sorrow as he patted my back, soothingly. "Want my help with the investigation?"
"Yeah, I'd like that. I do owe you after not being able to help you with the investigation last time," I answered him.
Luca nodded to me as we got ourselves mentally ready to begin. Within moments, we nodded in sync to each other and our investigation into the murder of the Ultimate DJ was underway!
INVESTIGATION START!
First things first, the Monokuma File. I tapped the screen which woke it up and I began reading out loud, "The victim is Damian Eaves, the Ultimate DJ. He was found in the Nurse's office on the second floor. The time of death was around 6:55 A.M. The body suffered internally with respiratory failure and vomiting blood, however, the body shows no signs of attack externally."
"Well, at least this time it has all the information. The two key points of information are listed; the time and cause of death," Luca pointed out.
"Well, sure the time of death is just before the morning announcement but the cause of death is not exactly elaborated on. It just says he suffered internally," I corrected.
Luca hummed thoughtfully. "I wonder why that is."
Truth Bullet Obtained: Monokuma File
"Well, we won't learn anything if we can't narrow it down without looking around. We best get searching," I said to him.
He nodded. "You're right. Want to check out his body?"
I looked back at poor Damian and shivered. "I-I don't know if I'm ready yet. Can we look around here first before we look at his body?"
"Whatever makes you most comfortable. But we will have to do it eventually, you know," Luca reminded me.
"I know. I just… need a bit more time to mentally prepare myself," I confessed.
"I understand. Come on, there's quite a mess over at the nurse's desk. Let's check that out first," Luca offered. We made our way over to the wreck the desk had become.
Paperwork was strewn about and the desk looked like it suffered an earthquake yet the rest of the room looked like nothing had happened. "Think there was a scuffle here?" I asked Luca.
"Sure looks that way. I guess Damian and his attacker might have fought here," He replied. Luca and I kept looking for anything specific about the scene and soon I heard Luca hum loud as he picked up something invisible.
"Whatcha got there?" I asked again.
"Check it out," Luca said as he held his hand out to me. I grabbed an incredibly thin metal point from his palm and felt it lightly prick my skin. I seethed in the quick pain as a tiny drop of blood came out of my finger.
"Watch it! Both sides are sharp! Especially that end! It looks like it broke off something," Luca informed me.
The way the one side pricked my finger made me think of one thing. "A shot."
"What?" Luca curiously responded to my mutter.
I quickly explained myself to him. "The way this grabbed my skin and poked me felt like when I got a shot for the flu or when I donated blood."
"Then it's from a needle. It's the metal point that sticks in your skin to inject stuff," Luca discerned.
"But the question is who was injected and with what was that person injected with?" I asked.
Truth Bullet Obtained: Broken Needlepoint
"Wait… we can still check Damian's medical records right?" Luca asked, curiously.
"We should. Do you have an idea?" I asked back.
"If my thoughts are right, then we may find an answer there!" Luca stepped over to the right and opened the file drawer of the desk and skimmed through. With how few of us remained it didn't take long for him to find it. "Perfect! Monokuma hasn't taken his files yet!"
He quickly opened the Manila folder and began skimming through the documents. But then he let out a confused, "Huh?"
I leaned in. "What is it?"
He pushed the file closer to me. "Look at the numbers." I did and saw the pages were numbered like a book from left to right yet I noticed that the numbers jumped from 5 on the left to 8 on the right. "That's strange. Where's the paper that has pages 6 and 7?"
"It's missing. I guess our killer didn't want us to look at Damian's medical past," Luca growled.
"But why take only the one page? Why not take the full file away like Marcel did?" I asked him.
Luca shrugged and then guessed, "They must not want us knowing a specific piece of Damian's medical history. Maybe it's an allergy like with Sienna."
I shook my head. "But page 5 here clearly states he doesn't have any allergies. So they couldn't have done what Brenda did to Sienna since Damian has no allergies to be used against him."
"That's… true," Luca admitted. "Which means that it may be something bigger. Something along the lines of what Mikayla had?"
"It must be since it was only the one page that was stolen. But obviously, Damian doesn't have sensitive eyes like Mikayla so then… what was it?" I asked thoughtfully.
Truth Bullet Obtained: Victim's Medical Records
"Now that I think about it, Damian had been acting strange ever since the third class trial, wasn't he?" Luca asked me.
"Yeah, he has. Like yesterday when we came up to get the acetaminophen for my migraine. Not to mention, I found him in here when he was talking to Monokuma alone the night after the trial," I agreed.
Luca tapped his chin before adding, "What about when Willie found Damian the night Ollie told us all about the decoded files from the computer lab? Willie had found him in a bathroom stall on the second floor. There are three areas with bathrooms on this floor; the locker rooms, the hallway bathrooms near the stairs that go down to the first floor, and the one in here."
"So knowing that we know Damian has been spending an unusually large amount of time on the second floor, specifically in the Nurse's office. But why? I just can't understand why he had been acting so distant and weird these last few days," I said, exasperated.
Truth Bullet Obtained: Damian's Past Behavior
I shook my head. "Why didn't he just talk to me? Did he really not trust me?"
Luca held both of my shoulders and forced me to look in his eyes. "I don't know why he didn't talk to any of us. His deal with Monokuma and him hanging around here put a lot of suspicion on him but even with how accurately scary that traitor explanation Paul gave us was, he still kept it all to himself. I wish I could have understood what he was thinking but I can't and I may never get to but right now he needs us to avenge his death. Someone killed someone who was struggling and we need to do this for Damian."
I took in his words and breathed in and out slowly. 'He's right as usual. I can't focus on what I could have done for Damian back then. I need to focus on what I can do for him right now and that means uncovering his killer!' I nodded at Luca before we went back to investigate.
After a quick moment, I noticed a small paper cup about the size of a shot glass on the desk. I picked it up and saw the paper was water damaged like it had been used some time ago recently but long enough that the water inside had evaporated by now. My eyes then went over to the door on my far right and something caught my attention.
I wandered over with Luca now trailing behind me as I stepped into the single person bathroom that was part of the Nurse's office. It was like a broom closet with the toilet, sink, mirror, paper towel dispenser, and the handrail next to the toilet and nothing else in the almost claustrophobic bathroom. Well, nothing except the small garbage can that was filled to the brim with crushed paper cups similar to the one I found on the desk.
"Damn! That's a lot of wasted cups!" Luca gasped in shock.
I knelt down and rummaged through it. "All I see is paper cups. Nothing is hidden in it but all these cups have definitely been used."
"But by who?" Luca asked.
'Honestly… I have my suspicion but I don't have enough to say decisively yet.' I thought to myself.
Truth Bullet Obtained: Used Paper Cups
As we stayed silent, the sudden sound of slow running water caught my attention as did Luca when I stood up and saw him staring at the sink. I looked and saw the faucet was slightly turned on and leaking water out and as Luca reached over for the valve to shut it off, I grabbed his wrist to stop him.
"Whoa! What gives Kai?" He asked, confused by my actions.
I looked back and adjusted my head's position to look past the neck of the faucet and saw the hot water valve of the sink was slightly turned and, more importantly, had a slight trace of blood on it.
"You almost got blood on yourself," I pointed out to him. He leaned in and when he saw it, he sighed out in relief.
"Thanks, buddy. That would have been bad had I gotten blood on myself," Luca replied.
"Question is why is there blood all the way over here? That's what I want to know," I said, puzzled.
Truth Bullet Obtained: Bloody Sink Valve
After grabbing a paper towel to shut off the water completely and throw away the now slightly bloody paper towel, I directed Luca back to the cabinet next to the desk that held all the medications. "I wanna check all the bottles and see exactly what each bottle has inside."
Luca nodded. "Sure. Let's do it."
We began scouring through the shelves and opening every container and bottle to find something and after going through almost half of the entire thing, Luca gets my attention. "Uh… Kai… you better check this out."
I look over at him and he holds out multiple bottles to me. One was for the acetaminophen which I grabbed the last pill (no surprise it was still empty), one was for something called Evzio yet the bottle was thin with a small hole on the cap and the medicine itself looked like liquid which looked to have been slightly used, another container was almost empty and was called Benzodiazepine, and then there was one labeled arsenic bane which was also all liquid with a tiny hole in the lid and also lightly used.
Then I looked up at the shelf Luca grabbed these bottles from and saw a few specific bottles scattered around inside that caught my attention. Most of which had a very familiar symbol with a skull and crossbones!
"There are multiple poisons in here! When did those get in there!?" I screamed in horror.
"I certainly don't remember them being here yesterday when we came up," Luca commented.
'It's insane to learn there are poisons in the cabinet but…' I looked back down at the four bottles in my hands before I kept my thought process going, 'I can't help but wonder that these ones are important considering how empty they are. I wish Mikayla was here. She could tell me what these medications do.'

Then a thought struck my brain like lightning. "Mikayla may not be able to tell me but Monokuma can."
I turned around and hollered out, "Hey, Monokuma! I need to talk to you!"
Monokuma popped up. "You called?"
"He's like a dog at the call. Kinda like Melinda yet I don't know which one is worse," Luca whispered to me.
I smirked at him before looking back at Monokuma as I held up all the bottles, not including the one for acetaminophen. "Tell me what these bottles for."
Monokuma hummed, observing them before he shrugged. "Who's to say. They all look the same to me."
I glared at Monokuma. "Okay then, how about instead you tell me why you put poisons on the shelves with the medicines?"
"I didn't do that!" Monokuma growled at me.
"Then why are they there? Surely it was you since you told us you change the inventory here in the Nurse's office," I replied.
Monokuma's face went red with rage as he got in my face. "Listen here! I did not say that! Here's what happens here. I refill every pill bottle after a class trial ends just like I change the inventory in the school store! However this time I chose to add poisons to the inventory of the school store but I did not place one in here! But I will say that one did manage to find its way in here earlier. The rest came not long after but I didn't put a single one in here!"

I smiled. "Alright then. I have no more questions."
"Sheesh. You're a real pain in my keister," Monokuma huffed out before he disappeared from in front of me.
"Why didn't you have him tell you what those medications do?" Luca questioned me.
"Because he gave me more important information that may be useful for later. Besides, I have a feeling I know someone who can help us learn what these medications do," I told him.
I set the bottles down back on the shelf and closed the door of the cabinet. I saw nothing else of note besides the blood trail in front of the desk with skid marks leading into the bed Damian now laid dead on.
"The blood looks like something was dragged over it to leave a big streak from here to the bed," Luca noted.
"Yeah, and with how much blood is covering Damian's front I think it's safe to assume it was him. But was it done by himself or the killer?" I questioned.
Truth Bullet Obtained: Trail of Blood
"Well, the trail leads to him. I think it's time to investigate his body now," Luca told me.
I nodded. I knew it had to be done and now that I've gotten some time, I feel like I've built enough nerves to be able to check out his body with little to no problem. We walked along the trail and stopped at the left side of the bed. Damian looked absolutely horrific with his eyes rolled back into his head and with the blood lightly dripping off his lower lip. I gulped as I stepped forward only to kick something and hear a clang of metal against the tile.
I looked down and noticed something now sticking out from underneath the bed and knelt down to see a wrench covered in blood. Suddenly, I heard Willie's voice behind me as I stood up. "So, ya found that too, huh?"
"Yeah, but why's that there?" I asked, confused.
"I have an idea and it should be obvious when you look at it," Willie scoffed.
I looked back down at the wrench and tilted my head. 'He says it's obvious but if he's implying what I think he is, then how would that work?'
Truth Bullet Obtained: Bloodied Wrench
I shrugged it off as I saw Melinda standing there with Paul. "So I guess you two have taken up guard duty for the crime scene?" I questioned them.
Paul shrugged. "I normally wouldn't but Willie demanded I do so. He seemed very interested in investigating this mystery."
"Really? That's surprising of you, Willie," Luca commented.
"I've done investigatin' before! Granted I seem to haven't put all the effort I could into it so I'm determined to try and solve this mystery! So don't git in my way! I already finished lookin' over his body and I doubt you'll find anything I haven't already found," He suddenly said quite forcefully before he turned and left.
Luca blinked for a moment. "I'm not sure how to take that…"
"Well, we might as well double-check. Knowing him he didn't actually touch the body like we probably need to do," I said.
Luca nodded as he stepped forward and began examining Damian up close with me watching from over his shoulder. I didn't want to get close unless I had to. My gut still turned at the sight of his poor body.
Luca then looked back at me. "Kai, check this out."
I approached him and looked down at Damian's blood-soaked shirt and vest. I noticed it on the left side of his vest as Luca pointed it out. "Is that... dirt?"
"Yeah, a small patch of it on his vest. And if you feel it, you can tell it's fresh," Luca noted. As much as I hated the idea of touching Damian's dead body, I just knew I shouldn't overlook this. I needed to confirm this for myself. I slowly reached in and tried to touch the spot but found myself stopping short as I felt my hand tremble in fear.
But then I felt a hand slowly hold onto the back of my extended hand and I saw Luca look and smile at me. "I'll help you through this," He whispered to me, trying to help calm me down.
It worked as his touch helped settle my nerves as he guided my hand the rest of the way down as my fingers traced over the dirt. Sure enough, it wasn't fully dried on. It felt beyond familiar, too.
"I recognize the feel of it," I muttered.
"There's also a smeared spot on the instep of his right ankle," Luca mentioned as I looked down and with Luca's help felt that spot and noticed it felt similar.
"You know where we need to check next," Luca confirmed.
I nodded at him. "Once we're done here, we'll head up to the botanical garden."
I nodded before I suddenly took notice of his pant leg on the right. A spot on his thigh had two small holes in them. I wouldn't have noticed had I not gotten so close to feel the dirt on his ankle. "Luca? Any chance you can rip his pants right here?" I pointed at where the holes were at.
He nodded as he grabbed at the spot and with a loud tear now tearing at the silence in the room had now left the right thigh of Damian exposed and what I saw made me gasp. There were two spots on the skin of his thigh with tiny holes and a drop of blood has developed from them. But what baffled me was the fact one hole looked veiny and irritated and centered around that single break in the skin. It looked like it still pulsed in a repulsive manner even though it clearly wasn't however the other hole looked clean and showed no damage besides the drop of blood.
"That's beyond weird. What's up with the skin on his thigh?" Luca probed me for my ideas.
"I don't have any idea but the fact that all these things are here must mean there's a big picture we're not seeing yet," I replied back.

I stood back up and walked back to Damian's top half and frowned at his face. Somehow, without Luca's hand, I found my hand reaching up to lift his glasses up and roll his eyelids shut before I cupped his cheek. I felt tears jab at the corner of my eyes. "How could this happen to him? Damian didn't deserve this."
Luca wrapped his arm around my shoulders and rubbed it affectionately. "I know. He was a really nice guy and was level-headed throughout most of this killing game. But even someone like him seemingly broke and someone took advantage of him somehow."
My eyes wandered down and saw his music note inscribed headphones with scratch records on the sides of the earcups still around his neck, slightly covered in blood but not terribly much. With a small nod to myself, I went over and grabbed some paper towels and got them lightly damp as I came back and approached Damian.
"What are you doing?" Luca questioned me.
"I want to take his headphones as my memory of him. To carry a part of him with me like I am everyone else," I told him. Luca smiled at me and nodded. I reached forward and wiped the blood off the headphones making sure not to bounce Damian's head around. Once it was cleaned off, I grabbed both sides of the headphones and pulled them apart to give me enough space to pull them off his neck. However, as I lifted them up, I accidentally caught the edge of his fedora and knocked it off which Luca's lightning-fast reflexes easily caught. Then we noticed that inside the fedora was a slip of paper.
I reached in and grabbed it before unfolding it's one-way crease and read, "If you don't act fast, the love of your life will die next!"
Luca tensed up. "Then that's Damian's motive he got yesterday? But who was he in love with?"
I hummed lightly to myself. "Well, with how much of a flirt he was with the girls here, it's tough to say but I think it's even more difficult to believe that he could have been in love."
"Why do you say that?" Luca asked, curiously.
"Well, the only girls left alive when we got the motive was Ollie, Shana, and Melinda and all three girls are not exactly free. Shana is with Tommy, Melinda is dedicated to Paul and the most highly unlikely one anyone would fall in love with, and then there's Ollie and…" My words suddenly escaped me as if I didn't want to say it. Why do I still feel like this bothers me whenever the thought of him being with her comes up?
Luca blushed and looked away. "And me, right?" Luca finished my sentence.
"Yeah… right… Anyway, that makes this motive he got all the more confusing. Not to mention, we found it in his hat like it was hidden." I continued explaining.
"What's so strange about it being hidden? Damian probably didn't want his motive to be found so hiding it sounds like a normal reaction." Luca shrugged.
I shook my head as I put my hand on my chin, thoughtfully. "Normally I would agree with how flighty Damian had been acting recently but if he truly wanted it hidden, why not hide it in a place less accessible than his head; like his pockets or his pants?"
Luca chuckled. "I can't imagine anyone searching through someone else's pants for a piece of paper. That's just gross."
I laughed out with him. "Right?! Anyway, it's also the fact it was hidden in such an easy place to find it. Like it was meant to be found. If that scenario is true then that contradicts the secretive behavior Damian was giving off."
"That's a fair point," Luca agreed. "So then why?"
Truth Bullet Obtained: Hidden Motive Paper
"This is one complicated mystery." Luca huffed out.
"I agree but I don't know if we're gonna find anything else in here. Let's head out." I said to him. He nodded to me as we began walking but as soon as I stepped into the open area, a crack sounded from underneath my foot. I jumped back having heard and felt that and saw broken pieces of glass where I stepped.
Luca and I leaned down as he picked up a big shard about the size of a quarter. The glass was incredibly thin and looked completely clear and see-through but when Luca held it between our faces, what I saw through it got blurred to hell and back.
"What the hell? It's like this glass came from a malfunctioning magnifying glass where nothing is shown clearly," Luca retorted.
"I don't recall finding anything glass related broken in here yet obviously something did. But even if most of it was cleared out by someone, what could such a blurry, thin piece of glass have even been fully pieced together?" I asked, completely flabbergasted.
"Maybe it's not as important as we thought?" Luca suggested.
"If it's not important, then why is it even here in the first place? No, I'm beyond positive I need to remember this," I thought as I snapped a photo with my e-handbook's camera.
Truth Bullet Obtained: Broken Glass Shard
Luca swept the pieces up and went back to place them on the desk so no one else would step on it yet leave it where anyone could find it. With that done, we then left the Nurse's office and Damian behind and pressed onward. Along the way to the fourth floor, we ran into Tommy who was waiting patiently outside the girl's bathroom.
"Hey, Tommy. You okay?" I asked him as we stopped.
Tommy's head drooped a bit. "No, I'm not. I promised Damian... I promised him he would survive this hellhole and now he's…"
"I get it. I wanted to help him so much too but now he needs our help in finding the one who killed him. We have to avenge him and this unnecessary death!" I forced the words out to help encourage him but it seemed futile as he just sighed out. I then asked, "Is Shana doing better?"
"A bit. She was feeling a bit unwell so I brought her here in case she needed to find a way to relax her stomach if you get what I mean," Tommy responded.
A thought then clicked in my head. "That reminds me, you and Shana were two of the four people who first found Damian's body. How did you guys find him?"
"After the morning announcement, I went to check on Shana after how things went yesterday but I found her door cracked open and her room vacant. I figured she must have been awake and left before the announcement. I peeked in the cafeteria but didn't see her there so I began wandering the school and maybe after thirty minutes of aimless wandering, I found her at the door of the botanical garden. She and I soon left together and made our way down, intending to get breakfast but when we rounded the corner we saw Luca and Ollie turn into the Nurse's office. We got worried something happened so we rushed over to check on them. We then heard Luca scream as we came running in and once we got next to them, we saw Damian… dead."
Truth Bullet Obtained: Tommy's Account
Luca nodded. "Yeah, you were in the Nurse's office not long after Ollie and I went in."
I looked at Luca, confused. "Wait, why were you guys…" But before I could finish my question, we heard a loud bang followed by a crash of glass in the bathroom as Shana let out a wail.
Tommy immediately got scared and without a second thought, he rushed in calling out for her. Me and Luca peeked in and saw Shana kneeling on the ground, crying with her helmet off and mirror shards scattered on the ground. Tommy hugged her tightly as she held him back and wept into his chest.
I felt my heart shattering at the sight of Shana and I went to step in but was stopped by Luca. I looked at him, not understanding what he was doing.
"Tommy's got this under control but just in case things get hectic, I'll stay here and keep an eye on them. You need to finish the investigation before we run out of time. Go, I got this," Luca informed me with confidence.
I silently nodded and regrettably left Shana and Tommy behind with Luca watching over them. I soon made my way up the stairs and got to the fourth floor and ran over to enter the botanical garden.
I quickly went in and began rummaging through the garden's wildlife and found a fresh spot of dirt. Keeping the feel of the dirt on Damian's clothes in mind, I began feeling the dirt on the ground beneath me with my eyes closed to help me visualize. After a quick moment, my eyes opened up with a revelation. "It is the same. Just as I suspected. But wait… this dirt doesn't feel exactly right. This dirt feels refined and smooth yet while I definitely felt that on Damian, I also felt like it was coarse and gritty. So then why is the dirt composition here feeling different from there if it's fresh there?"
Truth Bullet Obtained: Dirt Comparison
Then nearby I saw an indent in the dirt and crawled closer to discover a track. A human footprint but it was the tip of the shoe that was there. I could vaguely see the foot pattern of the sole of the shoe and the slight zigzag that each spot left, leaving me to only one conclusion. "It's a footprint of a boot. But whose is it and why is there a fresh print here?"
Truth Bullet Obtained: Footprint In The Dirt
Suddenly, a voice spoke from behind me. "I see your investigation has brought you here."
"Uwah!" I leaped up and whipped around to see Ollie standing there. I sighed out in relief before saying, "Ollie, you startled me."
Ollie smiled. "Sorry, I have a bad tendency to walk around silently and scare people because they don't realize I'm there."
I cracked up a bit at the irony of that statement and how true it really seemed. "So, how's your investigation going?"
Ollie shrugged, "It's decent but not getting me results. What about you? Got any favorite suspects yet?"
"I got a lot of clues but not quite sure how the puzzle pieces together yet," I answered back.
"Well, it's probably best if you learn now about how Luca and I found Damian's body," Ollie advised.
"Oh yeah, that's right. Luca said you and him saw Shana and Tommy go into the Nurse's office before you two. Why is that exactly?" I interrogated her, out of curiosity.
She motioned with a finger for me to follow her and I did so. That's when she brought me to the fountain in the center and I saw a picnic setup. "Oh… so Luca surprised you with a picnic, huh?"
"Actually, I'm the one who prepared it for him," Ollie confessed.
"Really? You did all of this for him?" I asked her in surprise.
She nodded before she began talking. "After how upset he got when everyone freaked out over the motives, I went to the kitchen before nighttime to set up a picnic for him early this morning. I instructed Luca to convene with me near the fountain in the garden at 6:30 AM this morning and he arrived. But he actually startled me as I did you when I heard a snap of a tree branch in the trees but I soon realized it was just Luca as he approached. We sat down and ate for about half an hour and then we began playing together by chasing each other through the garden. That was about the time the morning announcement played. We kept chasing each other in a back and forth game of tag for some time. It was so romantic but then I tried to tackle him, only to fly straight into his elbow and nearly knock myself out. He helped me up and helped me get down to the Nurse's office so I could rest in the bed there. Yet we found a bed already occupied."
Truth Bullet Obtained: Ollie's Account
"Well, I'm glad you two had at least some fun on your date before things went south for all of us," I chuckled a bit inwardly as I felt my eyes instantly dart away.
"You miss him, don't you?" Ollie asked me but I had a sense she already knew how I would answer. I nodded and replied, "Yeah. I miss Damian. Heck, I miss everyone. Jayden, Marcel, Damian, Sienna, Mikayla, Brenda, Evelyn, and Helen. I miss all the guys."
Ollie squinted her eyes at me as they shot back open and she gasped out. "Oh my God."
"What? What is it?" I asked her in complete perplexity.
"How did I not see it before? I can't believe I never noticed it until now," Ollie rambled on seemingly to herself.
"What are you talking about, Ollie?!" I shouted out, trying to get a straightforward answer, and as she took in a breath of air…
*Bing Bong Ding Dong*
"Oh, come on! Now?!" I now screamed at the monitor on the nearby tool shed as Monokuma appeared on it.
"I know what you're all thinking? But Mr. Monokuma, we're not ready to fight each of our friends in a word-based fight to the death over the death of another friend! Well, that's tough shit because I'm getting insanely bored here so I decided your investigation phase has officially ended and it's now time for the exhilarating class trial! You know where to go immediately! Please meet up in the library!" Monokuma squealed out like an infant getting the biggest, sugar-packed candy cane of all mankind.
I shook my head at the monitor as it shut off. "Now, what were you saying?" I asked Ollie, only to see her gone. I looked around in shock and sighed out, dropping my head in agony. "Not cool, man."
I quickly made my way down to the first floor and over to the library. I was the last one to arrive. "About damn time. You've been keeping us waiting. Now, be a good actor and do your duty!" Paul spouted out at me.
I rolled my eyes and stepped forward to the designated shelf and tugged on the same book as the giant bookshelf slowly got swallowed whole by the earth to once again reveal the elevator behind it.
"Well, this is it. It's time to find out who killed Damian," I said as I looked back at everyone else. "I won't be satisfied until we discover the truth."
Melinda snorted as she walked past me. "Well then, I'm afraid it won't be much of a truth since everyone knows it already."
I glared at her as everyone else began making their way into the elevator and I did too. Soon we were all aboard and ready for take off. But instead of flying up and out, we began falling deep into the heart of this hell. The suspenseful atmosphere was almost enough to choke me and I could tell everyone was getting the same vibe as me. Just when it felt like I would take my final breath, the elevator ceased and the doors opened up to the same damn courtroom which now housed two new pictures of our friends with a giant red X across their faces.
Marcel's picture had two knives painted in an X across his face, paying tribute to his time as the Bully Slayer and Damian's had two half-beat music notes as the X on his monochrome picture. Monokuma quickly popped into his seat and clapped to us all.
"Congratulations on being the survivors of this killing game so far but as you know we can't have a class trial without someone's death! So get ready to say sayonara to another classmate or more as the new blackened takes on the spotless! Get to your assigned seats and set your e-handbook in the slot to be checked off for attendance!" We did as Monokuma told us and after we were all done, he continued, "Alright then! Looks like everyone is accounted for! Then let's get this zesty class trial underway!"
I breathed in, closing my eyes, and exhaled through my lips as he flashed through my mind. Damian Eaves was as cool as they came being the Ultimate DJ but his coolness would quickly fade with how much he flirted with all the girls. But despite that flaw, he wanted to keep a level head while living through this killing game. Yet recently, I lost him. No, he lost himself and because of that he died and the one behind his death… was one person. The one person in this trial room, standing in front of me, was hiding among us as a friend. A traitor that supposedly killed the game's traitor. But in the end, will the real traitor be the victim, the blackened, or somebody else? All I know now is that this is the deathly game, in this deathly life. A deathly truth and deathly lie. Another deathly deception; all portrayed in this next deathly class trial!
Investigation is complete! What are your thoughts on the clues found? Who do you think killed Damian and why? Please leave a review and let me know what you think! Class trial is next but until then freak out as you wait in anticipation! See ya later! Puhuhuhu~
