Chapter 5:

Timed Warped 2: Team Rocket Boogaloo

"So, what is our final adventure?" Lyra asked as we walked into the Illex Forest, Pichu walking behind me.

"Lyra, I want you to listen to me. What we're are going to do is dangerous, in that we might not even make it back. But I want this to be a satisfying end to the great journey we've had together."

"Got it Elbertus" she said as we went up to the Illex Shrine. Lyra looked at me awkwardly. "=I thought we were not supposed to touch it."

"We're not" I told her. "However, I've done it before albeit unintentionally. Okay, stay close. This is going to be fun!" I touched the Shrine and it appeared, the small green Pokêmon with two tiny wings.

When Celebi disappears deep in a forest, it is said to leave behind an egg it brought from the future.

"I don't believe it" Lyra said. "Celebi, the Pokémon that can travel through time."

"Which is what we are going to do!" I told her.

"WHAT?!" Lyra shouted, shocked by the mere idea. "But, we need to be back by 6!"

"Relax, this is time travel. We can do this for as long as we want! We'll make it back in time! I mean, I hope." Celebi created a small portal that I jumped through Lyra following.

We went through a giant vortex of multiple colours, it looked very surreal.

When we reached the other end of the vortex, we found ourselves on a Route. There was a gate to the left and we were between two cliffs. The Gate however led to many big walls.

"Where… are we?" Lyra asked. She had landed on the ground face first, so she was trying to comprehend our location more than I was.

"I don't know" I said. We saw a City down the road to the right, with a Pokémon Centre that looked like it was from 8 years ago. "I guess that gives us an indication of WHEN we are at least." I saw a sign that had the number 22 on it.

Route 22, the Kanto region just outside Viridian City. That's where we were.

"Then that must be the Indigo Plateau" Lyra replied. "It looks amazing."

From the corner of her eye, Lyra noticed someone walking towards them, though at a distance where the person wouldn't be visible completely to them. I however, knew exactly who it was. Red hair, black coat…

…it was Silver. A younger Silver.

"We need to hide" I told Lyra. "Silver doesn't know me yet."

We hid behind a bush and watched him stop in the middle of the path.

"Who's Silver?" Lyra asked.

"A former enemy" I replied. "Haven't seen him in years, don't even have his Gear number. He also happens to be the son of…"

A man in a black coat and black hat walked up to Silver. Tilting his head up to talk to Silver, I got a good look at his face, to reveal the person I was about to bring up. We really needed to be quiet now.

"Silver" Giovanni said, stroking his cheek. "My Son, I'm afraid that I am going away for a little while.",

"What?" Silver replied. "Listen, I know you've just had a terrible loss to Red. You're just going to go into hiding now?"

"Yes. I've escaped the Police this time, I better use that chance. Team Rocket's days are far from over. I would like to Revive, or should I say Max Revive, Team Rocket in the

"I will never follow in your footsteps" Silver replied promptly. He was clearly hesitant.

"But you have potential my son. Are you really going to put it to waste? You'll be a fine member of Team Rocket."

"No" Silver replied. "I'm going to get stronger by myself, no matter what it takes. There is no excuse for the weak such as you. I'm planning on going to Johto to do some more training, don't even think about following me."

"So be it" Giovanni said. "But if you ever happen to change your mind, I have a plan. In about 6 years, a meteor that is suspected to hold a Pokémon will crash in the Seveii Islands. That is where one of my operations will take place. Meet me there. These are my final words before we part, I will build a brighter Team Rocket!" He sent out Dugtrio which dug a hole that Giovanni went down. Silver just turned away.

Lyra accidently made a branch snap, making Silver turn his head towards our hiding placeh. "Who goes there?" he asked.

The two of us slowly got out from behind the bush. The jig was up.

"Erm, my name is Ethan. You don't know me, yet."

"Ethan, I'll remember that. Where are you from?"

I had to come up with an excuse, but Lyra wasn't going to let me.

"He's from New Bark T-" I had to shut her up by covering her mouth.

"New Bark Town. I'll remember that. DON'T... get in my way." With that, he started walking off to the now police covered Viridian City, where Officer Jenny had multiple Team Rocket Grunts in cuffs.

"Hey, I have a request!" I shouted.

Silver just eyed me, meaning that I needed to make it quick.

"Don't go easy on me!" I said. "You're a great Trainer."

Silver just continued walking away, clearly not taking in my compliment.

"Daddy issues aye?" Lyra said, just as Celebi started glowing.

"Time to travel!" I announced as we went through another portal.

Coming out of this portal, we found ourselves in a cave.

"Celebi, where ar-" Celebi put its hands over my mouth. I thought it was rude, but then I realised why it was doing it. There was a man in all black. His voiced revealed just who it was.

"Could you keep it down back there?" he said. "Wait, no one is even allowed in here aside from Archer." He turned around, revealing Giovanni once again. "Who are you?! How did you get in here?!"

"My name is Ethan" I told him. "I know all about you. You're Giovanni, Silver's father and head of Team Rocket."

Giovanni stopped for a minute. He went over to a metal drawer and pulled out a picture in a frame. In the picture was a younger looking Giovanni, along with a younger Silver on his lap and a blonde haired woman, presumably his wife. "Where... is he?" Giovanni asked sadly. "I haven't seen him in 3 years, even if I told him that I wouldn't see him. Even then, I miss him." He then slammed his fist on the metal drawer and shouted at me. "I DEMAND TO KNOW HIS LOCATION!"

"I don't know!" I shouted back. "I saw him three years ago, and I don't know what will happen with the next three years, but Silver WILL be coming to the Sevii Islands operation!"

Giovanni gritted his teeth. "How do you know about that? YOU'RE SPIES! YOU'RE TRYING TO FOIL ME! HAVE AT YOU!"

Before a battle could occur, something came through the radio. "Giovanni, our great leader."

"Archer, what's the update?"

"That kid named Ethan, he is foiling our plans at Goldenrod Radio."

"What does he look like?" Giovanni asked angrily. He was holding the radio so tightly that it could be crunched to pieces if he got any angrier.

"Red coat, black and yellow cap…" Giovanni was starting to point out our similarities to my clothes, albeit in a bigger size.

"Surprised are we?" I asked. "Yes, I am that same Ethan Schneider, just 5 years in the future and I can confirm, I have stopped you and the rest of Team Rocket for now. This rise you've been doing now, it hasn't worked. Giovanni De Tivo, I challenge you to a battle."

Giovanni laughed maniacally. "You fool! You don't stand a chance against me! I don't know who you are, but I will squash you!"

"I choose Golem!" I shouted.

"Go Nidoking!" Giovanni shouted.

"Nidoking, Earth Power!" Nidoking punched the ground and created a giant crack in the ground. It hit Golem for lots of damage and almost finished it.

"Golem, Earthquake!" Golem jumped and upon impact with the ground, created a massive tremor that finished Nidoking in one with a Super Effective hit.

"I'm not finished. Go Honchkrow!" Giovanni sent out a black flying Pokémon with white feathers at the front. The Pokédex couldn't scan it, but Lyra filled me in.

"Honchkrow, Night Slash attack!" Honchkrow's wing turned black, then it swiped Golem with it, finishing it off.

"Golem!" I shouted, returning it. "Go Ampharos!" An Electric Type would do the trick. "Use Thunder!" Ampharos summoned a lightning cloud from above Honchkrow. A lightning bolt came and shocked Honchkrow, fainting it.

"Impressive. But let's see how you do against Persian!" He sent out a big white feline Pokémon with a red jewel on its head.

"Persian, use Dig!" Persian dug underground at that instant.

"Ampharos, come back! Go Togekiss!" I switched out to Togekiss because of its Ground immunity; it wasn't even scratched by Dig. "Now use Aura Sphere!" Togekiss used it's new move that involved shooting Persian with a ball of energy.

"Persian, Power Gem!" Persian shot a beam at Togekiss, who was hit hard because it was Super Effective against Flying Types.

"Use another Aura Sphere!" One more of those and Persian.

"You are strong, but you're still finished! Go Nidoqueen!"

Nidoqueen

It uses its scaly, rugged body to seal the entrance of its nest and protect its young from predators.

Nidoran -Lv 16 Nidorina -Moon Stone Nidoqueen

"Togekiss, use Air Slash!" Togekiss swiped the air, sending a shock wave at Nidoqueen. It flinched, allowing me to get another one in. Togekiss's Ability is Serene Grace, which doubles the flinch rate of moves like Air Slash.

"Nidoqueen, Rock Slide!" Nidoqueen summoned multiple rocks from above which all fell on Togekiss. A Critical Hit, Togekiss was crushed. Togekiss was sent back.

"Venomoth, go!" I yelled, sending out the Bug Type. "Use Psychic!" Venomoth blasted Nidoqueen with Psychic energy, finishing it.

"Urgh! Fine, I choose Kangaskhan!" He sent out a giant brown Pokémon with a pouch that had a baby Kangaskhan in it.

To protect its young, it will never give up during battle, n matter how badly wounded it is.

"Kangaskhan, Fire Blast!" Kangaskhan shot a bellow of fire at Venomoth. It was sizzled.

"Venomoth!" I yelled. "Okay Typhlosion, it's up to you!" I said, sending out my oldest friend. "Use Eruption!" Typhlosion created an eruption that did a lot to Kangaskhan.

"Kangaskhan, Giga Impact!" Kangaskhan started charging energy. Then it charged headfirst into Typhlosion, doing major damage to it...

...Typhlosion was still standing!

"Emanuel, this is your chance!" Lyra shouted. "After a Giga Impact, the user needs to take a turn to rest up. Use this opportunity and deliver the final blow!"

"Got it" I said. "Typhlosion, Flamethrower!" Typhlosion shot fire at Kangaskhan, who fainted from that attack.

"No!" Giovanni yelled, just as the radio started calling again.

"Giovanni, this is Archer. Ethan has beaten us, we have no choice but to call a retreat."

"Fine" Giovanni said. "I'm dealing with someone else...ish at the moment." Giovanni hung up, then noticed Celebi. "I'll be taking that" he said, taking out a grabbing machine. The grabber was fired towards Celebi.

Just then, Pichu jumped in front of the machine, protecting Celebi but letting it get caught in the process.

"You little rat, spoiling my plan."

"Pichu!" I shouted, just as Celebi transported us away.

It was over before it started; we were back in Ilex Forest. "Pichu!" I yelled. "Celebi, you have to send us back, we need to save Pichu!"

Celebi was gone.

"Pichu…" Tears started rolling down my cheek.

"Ethan?" Lyra asked.

"I took Pichu along with me. But I let it get caught! I bet it's still with Team Rocket right now."

"There there" Lyra said. "Come on, let's get back to the Breeding Center."

Lyra's parents were there with their car. "My sweetie!" said her Mum. "How was your adventure?"

"It… had a depressing end." She looked over at me, face red and puffy from crying. "We lost a friend."

"Oh dear" Kris said. "Well, it will still be in your heart regardless."

With that, Lyra got in the car. She wound down the window. "Hey, Ethan. Thanks for the adventure. Come and meet me at some point, I'll email you my address." With that, the car drove off.

"So, what now?" Kris asked.

"I'm going to find Pichu, but I'm gonna need time travel. Can't just find Celebi again, it's scared after that."

"Don't be silly" she said. "It could be anywhere."

I got out the Red Chain from my pocket. "Then there is something else I need to do..."
