This Chapter is dedicated to all those who have fought and lost their lives in Wars and to those who are currently serving. I hope everyone we take the time to thank those brave soldiers for the service and what they have done for their Countries and acknowledge those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
Remember them on this Remembrance Day.
I would also like to dedicate this chapter to my Pop who served in the Korean War and passed away 12 years ago.
Chapter .1.
Artemis knew her Father had cut her off. As he didn't accept this situation. But it was his own fault and she wouldn't let Apollo be raised with anyone else or even worse an orphanage. That wasn't acceptable. She couldn't abandon him. She had already abandoned him too many times to count and let him down. She WON'T let him down now.
She may have to live life as a mortal but she would make sure Apollo knew he was loved and had a good childhood. Even through she would have to earn her own way. As her beloved Father only gave her enough to get an apartment and that was it.
She transformed herself into a young twenty-year old girl with long blonde hair tied into a messy pony tail and she gave herself blue eyes. So her and her brother could pass as Mother and Son. She saw she looked like a young adult woman that had just had a baby.
"Come on Archer lets get some supplies", Artemis coos to the baby.
She had only conjured a few things. A stroll and a few diapers and Eileithyia had snuck her some bottles of formula.
She goes into the a near by rental agency.
"Can I help you?" a man asks.
"I just moved here and would like to find an apartment for myself and my son", Artemis says.
"I can help you Ma'am. My name is Dave. Take a seat", Dave says.
Artemis nervously sits down in the chair offered. She hoped she could play the part of a single Mother.
"What is your name?" Dave asks.
"Luna Moon and this is my son Archer", Artemis says.
"Is it just to two of your Ma'am?" Dave asks.
"Yes Archie's Father left before he was born. Didn't want to raise a baby. So I decided on a fresh start when he was old enough to travel", Artemis lies, but the Father part WAS true.
Dave nods, "How did you get here?"
"Bus", Artemis replies using a little bit of the Mist.
"What is your price range for a rental property?" Dave asks.
Artemis goes over some details and realises she would defiantly have to get a job. She didn't realise it would be so expensive in the mortal world. And Zeus wasn't going to help her and he had forbidden anyone else too do so too.
She picks out a small apartment to look at. Dave promised to show her tomorrow the property. She thanks him and asks for directions to a motel and a store. Which he gladly gives.
Apol…Archer was the perfect baby to they left the office and he cried out.
"Shh Little One lets get you some food", Artemis coos.
Lucky the few bottles she had had a heating charm on them. Which she would have to thank Eileithyia for when she eventually returned.
She found to store pretty quickly picking up some baby formula after using the Mist to confuse a shop worker into helping her without questions. She knew she couldn't keep using the Mist. She bought some blankets and binkys. Which Archer took immediately too.
She was relieved to get to the motel. She found out they had no beds for babies so she would have to put him on her bed and place pillows all around him.
The room only had a bed, bathroom and a small kitchen. Which would do for now.
She sighs as she sits looking at Archer who was awake sucking on his binky.
"You and me Little One", Artemis murmurs too him softly wiping his face and tracing it with her finger, "And you know what that is just fine with me"
And that was the truth. Archer and her would be fine. It was better for him to be away from Olympus and the Divine World.
Which reminded her. She would have to give up some more things so monsters wouldn't get attracted to them.
"I Phoebe Artemis, daughter of Zeus: King of the Skies and Leto: Titaness of Motherhood and Demurity. As the Goddess of the Moon, Hunt, Wilderness, Forests, Radiance, Archery, Childbirth, and Maidenhood, hereby renounce my Godhood till the day Phoebus Apollyon: God of the Sun, Healing, Light, Archery, Disease, Plague, Music, Art, Poetry, Reason, Knowledge, Truth and Prophecy, now known as Archer Moon returns and reclaims his rightful sit. This I declare on the River Styx, the Black Stone and the Creators! May I be bound to mortal form for the duration. I do this of my own freewill and ask for my declaration to be met!" Artemis declares to the skies closing her eyes.
Thunder booms and rumbles. She felt her powers leave her body and she felt her body settle into the form she had just taken.
She gasps as she came out of her trance she felt weak but hoped it would be only temporary. She looked down at Archer and smiled a small smile.
"It will be worth it and HE is worth it", she whispers.
She settles in for the night hoping to sleep off the transformation into a mortal…
Olympus…
Everyone one was shocked when the declaration activated. The Throne of Artemis dimmed and her domains when on autopilot. As The Moon Goddess renounced and freely gave her Godhood up for her twin.
Everyone was speechless when Zeus asked Iris to show the scene. They ALL saw Artemis give up her Godhood, Immortality and life for her twin. Some would call it the ultimate sacrifice.
But Zeus didn't see it that way and forbidden any contact with Artemis or Apollo as long as Artemis was mortal and as long as Apollo didn't know his true heritage.
Everyone knew Artemis would have a hard life in the mortal world.
Some thought she wouldn't make it through the mortal world. (Like Ares, Aphrodite, Dionysus, Demeter, Hera and Athena), Zeus thought she would come crawling and begging back, some like (Hades, Hephaestus didn't have an option) and some like (Hestia, Poseidon and Hermes thought she would).
So bets happened quietly but some where worried just what the next few years would do not just for Artemis and Apollo but for them and Olympus…
The Next Day
The next day Artemis felt better even getting up and down with Archer all night. But she knew she would just have to get him settled into a routine and he should settle down.
When she woke she found documents on the table and a small note.
Artemis,
After this there will be no farther contact with us. But Athena, Hestia and I knew you would need what little support we can give.
So Athena and I have made you documents to support your claim of your new name and of Apollo's new name. You have birth certificates, ID's, school references and a driving license. It should be enough for you to secure a home loan and a job.
We are sorry we can't do more but Father has banned all contact to you as you have renounced your Godhood and now mortal.
Artemis my Sister I give you a few toys and clothes too tide you over. I will miss you sister and I hope you are making the right decision. Good luck on where ever your life and journey takes you.
Niece I have given you some blankets, nappies and other little bits for Apollo. I KNOW you will be a great Mother to Apollo and this is a very good idea. Don't let anyone or yourself tell you overwise. Good luck niece.

She gives a sad smile but silently thanks them. She checks over the ID and it even had her current appearance on it.

Date of Birth: 16th of June 1988
Place of Birth: Orphanage, New York, New York
Father: Unknown
Mother: Unknown
ID Number:..
She nods Hermes did good work. So according to this ID she was 20. Which matched what she told Dave. She was happy be choose Diana as a middle name. But maybe that was Athena's idea.
Apollo's birth certificate was similar.

Date of Birth: 20th of August 2018
Place of Birth: New York, New York
Mother: Luna Diana Moon
Father: Unknown
She nods she was pretty happy with the birth certificates and ID's. They should work fine.
'Thanks Athena, Hermes, Hestia you have my thanks', Artemis thinks.
Crying could be heard and she makes her way to her son.
"Hey Little Fella your ok. Mama is here", Artemis coos and gently picks him up, "You hungry?"
She gets one of the premade bottles and gives it too him.
She starts to sing something she hasn't down in a long, long time and certainly not in front of anyone. But this was her br…no her son. And she would start calling him that.
Gentle, Gentle sing to your child,
Your companion for such a long, long time,
Beneath your heart,
His heart beats strong,
Life if your life,
Is safe in your arms,
She cradles him gentle as she feds him his bottle. She sings as his innocent blue eyes look up at her.
Touch his face,
You give him form,
Child of this earth,
Child of the sky,
You are his voice,
He has your eyes,
This is his gift,
The thread of life,
She lets her voice flow with emotion. It filling with love she had for him.
Give him grace,
Give him peace,
Let him be strong,
Let him be kind,
He is your soul,
And you are his strength,
Bless him and guide him all of his life,
He finishes it and she starts to burp him. All the while singing to him.
Gentle, Gentle sing to your child,
Your companion for such a long, long time,
Beneath your heart,
His heart beats strong,
Life if your life,
Is safe in your arms,
She smiles as she finishes the song and he is fast asleep tucked up in her arms.
"I love you my child and you will ALWAYS know I love you and would do anything for you. This time you will have the childhood you deserve. And you will have me with you. Always. No matter what it takes. I would give my life for yours in a heartbeat. Your my son and I'll treat you as such. This I vow a Mothers vow", Artemis whispers kissing his forehead
She knew this life she choice. The way of the mortals would be hard. But she would do it. For her child.
Nothing else mattered but his happiness…
