It had been nine years and Shadow is sixteen and Sonic is eleven. Shadow knew he was going to leave him soon.

He had trained him the best he could and Sonic was faster, stronger and ready to complete the prophecy.

He still hadn't told him about it and had been protecting him as promised.

They were outside when someone they recognized came.

"Eggman!" they said together.

"Hahaha! The two orphans are still together!" Eggman said.

Then Sonic and Shadow got into stance.

"Time to see how good you are at a real fight after all the training I gave you." Shadow said.

Sonic nodded.

"A little training hmm?" Eggman said.

Sonic glared at him, ran, jumped and then kicked him hard.

"Thanks to Shadow." he said after landing on his feet.

Then Shadow raised his arm and opened his arm.

"CHAOS SPHERE!" he yelled and aimed at a Swatbot and got it.

"You two are better than I thought." Eggman said.

While they destroyed the Swatbots Sonic thought about something.

When they were all gone Eggman was shocked.

Then Sonic jumped and kicked him hard causing him to go flying.

As usual Sonic landed on his feet and Shadow looked at him knowing it was time. It was time for the prophecy to be fulfilled.

Sonic turned around and looked at Shadow.

"One of us to go after him Shadow!" he said.

Shadow looked at him and took a deep breath.

'My time is up. It's time for the prophecy to begin.' he thought fighting tears.

He wasn't ready for this.

"Go. You're faster than me. I taught you how to fight, you're ready." he said and gave him a hug. "Be careful."

"I will. We'll see each other one day." Sonic said and hugged him back.

Then they let go and looked at each other.

"Go make me, mom, dad and uncle Chuck proud." Shadow said.

Sonic nodded, turned around, started walking then stopped and looked at Shadow again.

"I'll make you proud. I promise." he said then started running.

Shadow stood there watching him run away.

"The one born with speed will be the protector of Mobius. The brothers will separate when he's ready and the child will have a team of three. He will have the ability to use the seven Chaos Emeralds and defeat the enemy. He will be reunited with his brother when the enemy is defeated." he whispered to himself. "Part one complete. Go make me proud."

Then he used Chaos Control and got home.

A week later Sonic was at a different town having lunch when he heard something and looked up.

"Hahaha!" Eggman said.

Sonic got up and headed to make sure he was right.

When he got there he saw who it was.

'Time to start fighting him.' he thought then started running, jumped and got a Swatbot.

"Huh?" everyone said confused.

"Hey Egghead!" Sonic said. "Remember me?"

"One of the two hedgehogs I fought last week!" Eggman said.

"I'm the one that kicked you away from me and Shadow!"

"WHAT?!" everyone said shocked.

"You lost to an eleven year old and a sixteen year old!"

That shocked them all.

Eggman growled.

"ATTACK!" he yelled and Swatbots came.

Then Sonic ran as fast as he could and jumped kicked one and it was gone.

That shocked everyone.

'Do we finally have someone to fight and defeat him?' they all wondered and hopped.

While Sonic destroyed them all everyone watched in shock.

Finally they were gone and Eggman was shocked.

Then Sonic got him hard and he was gone.

A few seconds later everyone started clapping.

Sonic smiled proud of himself for fighting Eggman by himself.

'Shadow would be proud.' he thought.

The next day Shadow was at the grocery store still upset he was alone. Then he saw the paper and stopped. He saw a picture of Sonic and picked it up.

Eggman defeated!

Eggman was in town yesterday and after something when there was something blue flying at him. We saw it was a young hedgehog that Eggman recognized. The hedgehog's name is Sonic and has known Eggman for a while.

While he read the paper he smiled proud of him.

"The one born with speed will be the protector of Mobius." he said to himself. "Part two complete."
