Chapter 1: Twilight of Horizons

"Hah! This is an easy game than I thought!" Said the young vagabond as he looked ever so close to the chess game with all his pieces in check. He knew victory was certain since he almost had all the moves against his aristocratic opponent.

He leered more with excitement and looked on to the aristocrat more. The man then smiled back to him. "My boy, this isn't a toy to tinker on. It's a man's game and it sure says you shouldn't get your bloody hopes up." He said to the young vagabond.

But it wouldn't hinder the young one's progress as he proceeded to make a more bold move and went on after the man's turn was done.

"I got your piece!" He said. The noble then explained to him with such smile. He pointed to the kid's spoils of the piece as if he knew what he was up to, but motioned to him about it.

He said "You have my queen. You may be close to know that this is more than just a game."

The vagabond boy then was lost on what it was as he looked on the piece knowing it was true. "I have his queen...?" He thought to himself as he looked confused.

AC 195. Mojave Desert, California USA

"I have his queen...?" A young man said. Lost in thought of the dream he had as he was concentrating on the system and handle while on his bike

A man no older than his mid-20s rode with his all-terrain motorbike streaming straight through the desert as the sun glared on against his motor suit. His pulse was as coming around as his sweat was against the leather he wore

Charles Sandoval was a man who had learned of this mysterious dream. What could he have known? An omen? Something good? He pondered more as he rode on against the Mojave desert and heat grinding on him.

Then he suddenly stopped. Right nearby the desert's edge where mountains meet up as the sun leaned against its horizon. He took off his helmet and Charles then looked on his watch knowing how much he loved the sun sets against him. Although it was as if it meant to be the backdrop in what life may offer him.

But then on the near dark sky, he saw five shooting stars blazing downward across the way. And went in fast as if it was rain was falling heavily against the ground as they hit hard into the surface.

"Oh wow. I wonder what they are...?" Charles said in awe of the star's presense.

He smiled more as if it was just in time to head back home. Being one of two children being as the heir to his father's legitimate agriculture business on Earth and the space colonies, it wasn't a task for him to upheld on knowing it was a pain

But Charles knew he had more than just that responsibility...

As he prepared to put back his helmet on and rode back as soon as possible before the next shuttle flight leaves for L.A. he already knew he had to attend a meet up with his father and a few delegates of the Earth Alliance military especially Treize Khrushrenada in discussing terms of how his father's business is being protected while running things in the colonies which was also currently in turmoil while the military enacted martial law against the citizens there.

But Charles knew he didn't want any of it as corruption stems from this so-called "peace" to be enacted with greed. He knew in his heart he didn't want any of it, as he was on his way back to the spaceport for the flight home. Pondering in self-doubt on it
