Welcome Back!
This is a rather lowkey chapter. Not my best, but rather provides a plot point that will be shown latet chapters. And the words per Chapter will be increased to 5K average after this and next chapters, probably.
Chapter 5
"Sceptile Quick Attack to Leaf Blade combo!" Ash commanded, to which Sceptile followed to a T. The green gecko lunged at the enemy Mienshao at such speed. All of the people in the stadium, except for those who knows this certain pokemon from a certain trainer, understood the very difference in speed. The enemy didn't even had a chance to call a dodge or attack, when Mienshao was struck at the chest.
"Mienshao is unable to battle. The winner is Sceptile, Meganium, and Aoi Sycamore of Vaniville Town!"
And with the call of the referee, the stadium errupted to cheers and calls. On one part, the traitors themselves is dumbfounded and shocked to see a ghosted face.
"I can't believe it. You said it was Ash!" Max shouted at Trip that is gritting his teeth in irritation.
FLASHBACK
"Oh boy, I can't wait to take them on." Max stated confidently waiting in the stands. The next battle after this one, will be against Misty and Serena. It was no surprise, when they bumped to each other earlier. Luckily, it ended only on a barrage of insults, but not without asking where Ash is. The gang only shrugged their shoulders and left the traitors guessing their ass off.
"Don't worry Max. I will make sure that there will be nothing left for you to destroy." Misty joked on her seatmate. Max only glared on annoyance to the duo, and broke off after hearing the introduction. Each battle was blind, meaning there is no way for the other to know the face of the trainer except their name from yesterday. The traitors however, was in for a surprise.
"On the green side, we have a regal sent by Wallace from Johto. He is one of the finalist in the previous Silver Conference. Please welcome Dave Carter of Goldenrod City!"
Then erupted a loud cheer from the crowd, especially from Johto for their chosen regal. The man just waved like a madman with an unerasable grin, that is after the battle it wasn't.
"And on the red side. He is the current Grand Duke of the Battle Maison, and the Lumiose Conference Winner. He manged to conquer the Kalos Battle Frontier, and has become a pride of the Region. Without further ado, Aoi Sycamore, the Duke of Battle from Vaniville Town!"
The crowd went wild, was an understatement. It was ballistic, not for the traitors of course. They just wondered to who could have the person have been. They all saw the man walking to the side of the field, and they are shell shocked.
"KETCHUM?!" Misty shouted from her seat, flabbergasted.
"WHAT IS THAT WEAKLING DOING HERE?!" Max shouted in anger, seeing the man he deemed weak.
"I said it was him. Even Paul call him Ash!" Trip defended himself. He was snarling at the sight of the raven haired trainer, and at the constant tantrum of his other friends.
"Whatever. I will make sure to knock him off the battle." Iris declared to the traitors. She is still angry at the once called kid, now that he looks like he is mocking them. Cilan hasn't said a single word, he was confused, but he tried to controll himself for their sake. But even so, the intuition of his love interest, Iris, is strong.
"How was my battle guys?" Ash asked the gang running to them. He was then greeted by the energetic Riolu, that cuddled in his chest.
"Hmph. It was perfect as always Grand Duke." Paul mocked the raven haired trainer. They have been close Rivals, along with Gary. It was a usual sight for the three to argue, talk about battles, and ask their performances. They say it was their self improvement, since one can't always see the mistake of himself.
"Thanks Paul. And I said stop calling me Grand Duke outside the Maison!" Ash now provoked the violet haired trainer. "As you wish Duke of Battles." Paul made a mock bow of royalty. "Oh shut up Strategic Demon." Ash pouted cutely, earning him a laughing group, and a giggling girlfriend.
Then they heard the call for the next match. The thing is, that both Dawn and Serena had their match at the same time.
"Well, Brock and I will be watching Dawn's battle. How about you guys?" Anabel directed her question to the other couple, and the boyfriends and last Frontier Brain for an answer.
"I could go watch Serena battle." Gary stated straightfaced forgetting the argument that the three rivals have.
"I wanted to watch Serena. Is it ok to you Clemy?" Korrina stated in a fit.
"Sure thing. I wanted to watch another contest battle if you know what I mean." Clemont made a grin. Kalos Grand Festival was a first for the Princess of Hoenn, the Top Coordinator of Twinleaf Town, and surprisingly the Kalos Princess joined as well. Everybody thought it will be Dawn vs May in the finals, but surprisingly it was Serena vs Drew that matched. Drew even made a small attempt to flirt with Serena, that backfired a bit when the three rivals, or the Three Musketeers as they would be mocked by the gang, made a glare that costed him to flee so fast, he eventually forfeited.
"Hey Ash, watch Dawn's battle for me and record it for me please." Serena made a puppy eye pleading effect to her soft and cute voice. The rest just snickered to know that Ash has no choice even to refuse. "Don't worry, I will record your girlfriends' battle." Paul commented avoiding to laugh.
"This is a battle between the Top Coordinator of Twinleaf Town against the Princess of Hoenn! Both Trainers please reveal yourselves!"
The crowd cheered on the other stadium at the sight of the two rivaling coordinators. Ash, Anabel, Brock, and Clemont managed to arrive before the battle started. Suffice to say that they have a good spot, and they are far from the traitors seat.
"Looks like someone is eager to battle again. Hope you haven't lost your touch." May snickered on seeing her 'former' rival take her spot.
"Yeah. I can't wait to wipe that muk of your face." Dawn replied coolly. She is trying to act like Paul, and in fact she does it like he do it. After being his girlfriend, they had been rubbing off on each other more and more. Eventually, Dawn takes a more serious pose in battles like this.
"This will be a double battle with two pokemon each. There are no time limit and no substitutions."
"Venusaur, Blaziken, Take the stage!"
"Priplup, Lopunny, Spotlight!"
On the other stadium, Gary, Paul, and Korrina has been seated and waiting to the announcement of the battlers. The traitors, this time is situated near them. They just glared at the group and only snapped to reality when the battlers are introduced.
"From the green side, we have the Kanto Gym Leader, Misty Waterflower!" Small erupted cheers came from the Kanto side that is loud enough to be heard outside. "And from the red side, the former Kalos Queen, the Grand Duchess of Battle Maison, and the Kalos Grand Festival winner. The Kalos Princess, Serena Yvonne!" Then came the cheers of not only Kalos native, but perhaps the 60% of the whole stadium.
"Hey! No fair that I got a weaker cheer!" Misty brimmed in anger, that made Serena laugh only.
"Hahahahahah... Jealous because of the fans. Don't worry, Ash would have been delighted to have you before." Serena mocked the redhead that is now fuming to say the least.
"You are going down." Misty growled in anger.
"This will be a double battle with two pokemons each. There will be no substitution and no time limit."
"Misty calls Starmie and Golduck!"
"Braxien, Sylveon performance time!"
"Are you both ready!" The two referees from the different stadium asked to which the four ladies nodded.
"BATTLE BEGIN!"
"Prinplup Aqua Jet! Then Lopunny Ice Beam!"
"Giga Impact Venusaur to Prinplup, Blaziken use Fire Spin to remove the Aqua Jet!"
Prinplup rushed to the two in a surging water, while Lopunny charged an Ice Beam. Venusaur and Blaziken advances and attacks Prinplup, but that is where the smirk of Dawn comes. The Ice Beam made a connection to the Aqua Jet, in which then caught the Fire Spin to circle it too. Every trainers on the stands wailed at the combination of attack, as the Flaming Ice Aqua Jet rushes to the Giga Impact. It managed to make a huge explosion, but on closer look Venusaur clearly took a heavy damage due to the 4x effective attack.
"Heh... Smart move by Dawn. She clearly shows her bond with her pokemon in the combination." Brock commented.
"If this was a contest battle, that would have costed her nearly half of the enemy points in the bat." Anabel added.
"Grr... Venusaur charge up a Solar Beam, and Blaziken use Fire Blast!"
"Prinplup charge in with Steel Wing, then Lopunny use Thunder Punch!"
Solar energy started to gather at the bulb of Venusaur, while Blaziken stood in front of it, and shot a star made of fire.
"Slide both of you!" Dawn commanded her pokemon. Soon, the Fire Blast missed, and Prinplup and Lopunny split in charge to the enemy.
"Fire Venusaur!" May exclaimed. But her Venusaur can't choose a target, due to both are beside him. Prinplup landed a hit on the left side of the neck of Venusaur that promoted it to fire it blindly. Blaziken meanwhile, was hit by the Thunder Punch. Unfortunately, Blaziken staggered straight to the Solar Beam that caused a huge smoke on the field.
"Man that Solar Beam gotta hurt." Ash said on the stands watching the said attack.
"Lopunny take Prinplup and use Bounce!" Dawn ordered her pokemons. The smoke was still covering the field, but it is alreadt dissipating. When Venusaur and Blaziken that is worn down look on the field, Lopunny and Prinplup was nowhere.
"On the sky, Blaziken use Blaze Kick and Venusaur use Petal Blizzard!" May exclaimed seeing the enemy high up.
"Now Prinplup use Steel Drill, Lopunny give it a boost!" Dawn sneered at May, that is bewildered by the command. Ash was grinning on the command, while the rest was baffled.
Prinplup was spinning while it's beak extended. Then the wings took a metalic coloring. It was a Drill Peck and Steel Wing combo, that is charging down wards. The Petal Blizzard just dissipated on the falling attack, while Blaziken on the ground was waiting. Unfortunately, the gravity favored Prinplup adding force to the attack that managed to push Blaze Kick AND Blaziken straight to Venusaur.
Meanwhile at the other stadium. At the same time when the match of Dawn started, is when the match of Serena started.
"Starmie use Hydro Pump, Golduck use Psychic to power the Hydro Pump!"
"Braxien use Fire Blast, Sylveon use Fairy Wind!"
The Hydro Pump was boosted by the Psychic, eventually the streaming torrent gain size and power. Fire Blast headed straight to it, and Fairy Wind eventually boosted the intensity of the attack even further. The result yeilded a huge mist.
"This should be interesting." Paul commented
"Sylveon head straight on, Braxien stand by."
"Golduck, try to sense Sylveon and head straight using Fury Swipes!" Golduck used a minimal usage of psychic energy to pick up the pressence of Sylveon. A moment later he charged in, "Fury Swipes Golduck, and use Rapid Spin Starmie to blow the mist!"
"Sylveon use Counter Shield!"
In the center of the field, Starmie was blowing the mist away, but Misty was surprised by the pained cry of Golduck. On the one side of the field, Sylveon was spinning on it's back, while sparkling winds of fairy power, and the feelers spin in the air.
"Now Braxien use Grass Knot on Starmie!"
A vine suddenly appeared on Starmie that is spinning. It suddenly stop after it was tripped and crashed on the ground.
"Rapid Spin again and Fury Swipes to Braxien while it's separated!"
True enough, Sylveon was on the wrong side of the field leaving it's partner vulnerable. "Ha! Take that!" Misty leered at her opponent, but surprisingly Serena only smiled.
"Counter Shield Braxien!"
Both Starmie and Golduck charged, but was surprised to see a torrent of flames to appear around Braxien. The fire was conjured from the wand, that is further powered by Psychic. Braxien just stood there, while the torrent of flames protected her.
"Heh... Smart move, though completely risky in a one-on-one match." Gary remarked.
"How come?" Korrina asked the frontier brain.
"Normally Counter Shield functions as a high end defense mechanic. But for Braxien, it takes up a notch with Psychic circulating it. It leaves with a powerful vulnerability to field moves, like Bulldoze and Dig." Paul explained without looking to her.
"Psychic on those two Braxien!"
Braxien sent a powerful wave of psychic power that encapsulated Golduck and Starmie in an instant.
"Golduck! Starmie!" Misty exclaimed seeing her pokemon lifted.
"Moonblast! Then Braxien slam them on the ground!"
Sylveon then sent a concentrated moonlight energy, that fly and hit true. The smoke made a proper distraction to slam the defensless Golduck and Starmie to the ground. Twice.
The smoke on both stadium clears up. Then on Dawn's side:
"Venusaur and Blaziken is unable to battle!"
Then on Serena's side:
"Starmie and Golduck is unable to battle!"
Then at the same time outside the stadium monitors:
"The winner of this match is the; Top Coordinator of Twinleaf Town Dawn Berlitz/Kalos Princess Serena Yvonne!"
The stadium both rocked so loud, essentially the outside area becomes surprised by the intensity of vibrations.
"Alright!" Ash cheered on the stands for Dawn. "Come on let's go and catch up with them!" Then Ash ran to the tunnels to the entrants.
Meanwhile of the traitors side at Misty's match.
"How did she win!?" Trip seethed in anger. He was frustrated to see Misty lose, to a fairy princess as he would quote it too.
"I can't believe it..." Tracy mumbled on his breath, not noticing the arrival of Korrina, Gary, and Paul.
"Hope you guys enjoy the humiliation losers." Gary snickered at the faces of the traitors.
"Is that you all got. You are more pathetic, and no lesser than Ash." Paul smithered on them too.
"THIS ISN'T OVER YET SHINJI!" Trip exploded in anger to Paul. But by then, said person only left.
"Oh yeah!" Gary halted on his walk on the stairs. "Do tell Misty to smell her later!" Gary made his usual gesture that made Paul and Korrina laugh on their way.
"How was the battle guys?" An energetic Dawn hugged Anabel on the tunnels on their way outside.
"It was awesome!" Ash exclaimed loudly. "It was a great coordination unlike before." Then the pokemon doctor proudly tell. They are busy with their praises to the coordinator that they lost track of their surroundings. Serena managed to sneak behind Ash, while the rest was surprised except of Anabel and Dawn.
"Uhh... who is this?" Serena then pulled her hands and spun Ash lightly towards her. "Hey!"
"I won Ash!" Then comes the hug, the bear hug that nearly crushed the poor raven haired trainer. "Serena... air... ai..."
"Oops. Sorry..." Serena sheepishly rubbed her neck in embarrassment. "So where to now?" Gary asked the group. "Let's grab some lunch first, my match is 2 in the afternoon." Clemont offered. Then a lone sound of stomach growl was heard, but not from Ash. "Heheheh... I guess that is a good offer Clemy." Then a chorus of laughter filled the air, while Korrina was red from embarrassment hiding behind Clemont.
Somewhere in the island, a robed man was standing overlooking the gang and the traitors. There is an eerie aura at the man. The only visible part is a lightning bolt birthmark, and a loose conglemeration of hair peeking from the robe.
"Soon..." the man was holding an ultra ball, that emits a strong pulse of power. He then walks back to a cave, that is unseen by the people on the island.
