AN: Couple people were upset at how powerful Naruto is, I mean I said he is OP (Over Powered) but is what it is. On top of that I have always believed with the massive amount of chakra he has with proper training from a young age he would be a monster from a early age.

Chapter 2: The Monthly Dinner and The Test

The blond teen boy was setting the table, putting out plates, glasses and silverware for the monthly dinner with the Yamanaka family. Naruto, was had already been worrying because of Ino, had been informed by his father that Jiraiya was coming too, making it all so much worse. With Minato and Inoichi being the old friends that they were they had this dinner once a month, it had been that way as long as Naruto could remember. This is the time when Ino would be nice to him typically, then the next day back to her usual public self of hating him, 'I don't understand girls at all..'

As he finished setting the table Naruto looked to see that Minato was still prepping the food. Naruto, not knowing how much time he had left, went outside to train some more before everyone showed up. The young man wanted to perfect the rasengan, Minato had said it was close but not perfect yet since it wasn't perfectly round. Not that it wouldn't still work for what Naruto would use it for but the boy was a bit of a perfectionist. Naruto continued to train as the Yamanaka Head Family showed up and Minato let them in, greeting them with a smile. Ino looked around before she spoke up, "Where is Naruto at Mr. Namikaze?"

Minato pointed at the backyard and she nodded, thinking that she should have guessed that, and walked outside to the backyard. When see closed the door she turned to see Naruto working on his jutsus like always. He dispelled the rasengan with a small, satisfied smirk as he muttered too himself a little, "Almost have it in a perfect circle, just a little bit more."

The platinum blond girl slowly and silently creeped up behind him, she wanted to scare the boy. She had always found it funny to watch him jump, knowing first hand how strong the boy truly was and poked him in the sweaty back of his shirt, "Naruto!"

Jumping as he always did Naruto turned to see Ino standing there, a large smile plastered across her face. She was acting like she always did at these dinners, but this time was different. This time he decided he was going to confront her about it, "What can I help you with Ino? I mean it was just a mere couple hours ago that you were proclaiming how you hate me."

Seeing that the boy was irritated she sighed, she didn't mean it to be honest, "I have to act like that in public Naruto. You know how Sasuke is, he views you as a rival Naruto."

Said boy shook his head a bit as he learned he was right, it was because of Sasuke. He moved his shirt a bit, the sweat making him uncomfortable, "So... I was right then and you are ashamed of being my friend... but at least I know why you hate me publicly now, because of the Uchiha."

Looking at him Ino stayed speechless for a moment, she never meant to hurt his feelings but she had been going a little further then usual she supposed. She had even been ignoring him when no one else was around in case someone heard. She had also knew when she said it that saying she hated him was taking it to far. But even though she had known she still said it, then she never apologized to him either, "Naruto.. its not like that."

Shaking his head again Naruto moved his shirt some more, it was clearly getting on his last nerve with the way the sweat was sticking to him, "Just make up your mind which one you want to be. I don't like being hated in public by someone I thought was my oldest friend. Then too add on to it whenever we are at one of these dinners you are all nice and sweet to me again. You have no idea how that makes someone feel and honestly it is a bit irritating. I will play along again with it tonight for our parents sake but you should know that Jiraiya-sensei will be here tonight as well so you might get caught by him."

Naruto walked past her a little then stopped as he put his hand on the doorknob. He looked over his shoulder at her with a sad look in his eye, "Its a shame that you stopped being the real Ino to try and impress him though..."

With that he went back into the house and said hello to the Yamanakas before he heading up the stairs to take his shower since he had been training. Once he was done cleaning himself up and got changed into some fresh clothes he walked downstairs to see that Jiraiya was there now as well. Now that everyone was present they all sat down to eat the food Minato had made for them. It was a typical dinner for most part, that was until their parents asked Jiraiya what he thought of his team, "Well... I know Naruto is very capable for his age. I don't know about the Inuzuka yet, though he does seem ambitious and driven. I think that my biggest concern has to be Ino hating Naruto causing a disruption in the teamwork at some point."

As Jiraiya said that her eyes went wide. Well she had been caught now, everyone looked at her, everyone but Jiraiya and Naruto. Naruto just looked at the table silently while Jiraiya looked around in confusion, not understanding what was going on. Inoichi was the first one to speak, "Princess... what does Lord Jiraiya mean that you hate Naruto? I thought you two were really good friends?"

Now clearly beyond the state of confusion the white haired Sannin leaned down by Naruto asking what the hell was going on. Naruto just let out a sigh before whispering an explanation to his godfather, "She hates me publicly, but is friendly to me when no one we know is around. This is because she likes the Uchiha, who hates me and sees me as a rival, so she hates me too when someone that might know us is around."

Making an 'Oh' face Jiraiya looked back at the others as they were all still looking at Ino, waiting for an answer or explanation of some sort, "We are friends.. its just.. um.."

With a sigh Naruto spoke up, not believing that he was coming to her defense. He didn't know why he did it but he did it anyways, "I made her mad earlier with a stupid joke is all. She was just venting her frustrations with me, right Ino?"

Nodding her head quickly Ino let out a small sigh of relief. That was when Inoichi started to smile again, "Girls, right Naruto? Sometimes they are just so confusing aren't they?"

Nodding his head softly, he stirred some of the food that was on his plate, "You have no idea Mr. Yamanaka.."

The rest of the night went by and Jiraiya was the first person to leave, claiming that he wanted to go and prepare to torture his team. The threat intimidated Ino, Naruto on the other hand just rolled his eyes at the comment, "Yeah right, you just want to go spy on women in the hot springs you old pervert."

Smiling at the young boy Jiraiya clapped his godson on the shoulder as he had a twinkle in his eye, "One day you will be interested in girls Naruto. When that day comes it will be a godson and godfather bonding exercise! But until then your still a brat!"

Instantly responding and rolling his shoulder to remove the hand Naruto glared at the sage, "I am already interested in girls! The difference is I have enough self-respect to not spy on them in the bath you old pervert!"

The two glared at each other as Minato smiled, stepping between them too break it up, "I am sure that Jiraiya-sensei is going to go and prepare for your test tomorrow right?"

With a nod Jiraiya disappeared from the house and Naruto muttered under his breath, "Yeah and I am sure that hell is freezing over under my feet as we speak... I am going to go back to training I almost have my rasengan in a perfect circle."

Turning and heading towards the back door Naruto went back outside, a clearly irritated air about him. Taking off his nice shirt so he didn't get sweat all over it, he held out his hand and started to form a rasengan. Seeing that there were still a couple uneven bumps in it Naruto let out an annoyed growl. After about 5 minutes had passed by the back door opened again and out came Ino. She was coming to say goodbye since her family was leaving and stared at his sweaty but muscular back, "Um.. Naruto?"

Naruto stopped training for a minute and turned around to look at her. Ino saw that he was actually pretty muscular for their age, already having a 6 pack in the making from what her eyes could see. It really wasn't all that big of a surprise to her though, he either trained, ate or slept. Ino looked at his sweaty upper chest and her cheeks got a little bit of a pink tint but Naruto couldn't see it in the dark, "Um.. I wanted to say bye since we are leaving."

Nodding at her Naruto gave her a soft kind smile and said goodbye to her. He was about to go back to his training when he noted that she was still standing there, "Also... thank you for helping me earlier with my dad. I also wanted to tell you that I will start treating you like you deserve, like a true friend. I am sorry that I let my feelings for Sasuke get in the way of that, I really hope you can forgive me."

His smile got a bit bigger at her words, he had hoped that she would choose something like that. Truth be told he really didn't want to lose his oldest friend, but he wasn't going to keep taking that abuse from her. Unfortunately he also thought it was doubtful that she would actually follow through with it, thinking it to be more pretty words, "Okay Ino, I am happy to hear it."

The platinum blond gave her old friend a quick hug but quickly pushed him off with a disgusted look, "Ew! You're all sweaty! Can't you stop training sometimes!?"

That made it so the blond teen boy let out a loud fit of laughter before smiling at her, "If I stopped training then I wouldn't be able to get stronger. I have a dream, I want to become the Hokage someday, that means I have to work hard and be prepared for anything."

Smiling and shaking her head at his almost predictable response she let out a small sigh. With another goodbye to Naruto she ran towards the back door to head back in, her parents waiting on her to head home. Once she closed the back door Naruto went back to his training. After about 10 minutes Minato came out, "So.. whats going on with you and Ino? Since Inoichis not here anymore I figured I would be able to get a true and straightforward answer out of you."

Releasing the rasengan Naruto scratched his neck as he looked over at his father, "Its weird, in public she hates me because Sasuke Uchiha does, but when its just us at the monthly dinners she is all nice to me and stuff. I don't think I will ever understand girls, everything is just so... complicated. I called her out on it today before dinner though, she said she is going to start treating me like a real friend again. Only time will tell on that though I guess."

Smiling with a chuckle Minato put his hand in Narutos hair, ruffling it up a bit, "Wait until your older and dating or even married Naruto. That is when you will be confused all of the time but you get to use your money to buy everything."

Letting out a depressed sigh Naruto hung his shoulders, if that is what dating was going to be like then he just wasn't going to do it, "Yeah, I am going to wait til I am like 20 to start dating I think."

Lifting his hand out of his sons hair Minato continued to smile as they walked back into the house. Naruto needed to rest for the test tomorrow, so Minato wanted to make sure that the boy didn't overdue it, "You never know, your mother and I started dating when we were Genin."

Shrugging as he opened the door and went inside to go get some water to drink, "None of the girls in my class notice anyone other then Sasuke, no point in getting my hopes up."

Naruto took his water, heading up the stairs before rinsing off again and going to lay down, quickly falling asleep. He woke up at 6:30 with his alarm, quickly ate some toast for breakfast, showered and got his gear on then ran to the Team 10 Training ground. When he got there the first thing that he did was hang one of his kunai in a tree, this way he could just use his Flying Thunder God Jutsu to get there from now on. Naruto smiled before he sat down, resting his back against the tree and closed his eyes. While he waited for Jiraiya-sensei and his teammates to get there he practiced his chakra control, sending it throughout his body. While holding it at certain areas that way he would be able to progress quickly when the time came for that training.

When Kiba, Akumaru and Ino came walking up to him 10 minutes before they were suppose to be there, they found him sleeping happily against the tree. Ino, since she had known him for so long, knew that he was someone who would typically lay around in the sun if he wasn't training. She also knew that it wouldn't be long until he would fall asleep if he got comfortable in the sun. The Inuzuka boy watched as Ino walked over and kicked Naruto in his foot, "Naruto wake up, Jiraiya-sensei should be here soon."

Slowly opening his eyes, closing them and reopening them with a squint, Naruto looked at his teammates. Giving them a small smile he pushing himself up off of the ground and stretched, preparing for what was too come. They stood there waiting for about 10 minutes, Kiba could feel the awkwardness between Naruto and Ino. Now, anyone who knows an Inuzuka knows they aren't very tactful, "Is there something going on with you two that I should know about?"

Looking over at Kiba and then looked back at Naruto, who appeared tot be looking at her waiting for her to answer. Ino shifted her eyes back over to the Inuzuka, "We are friends, just a little rough spot in our friendship right now is all."

Raising his eyebrow Kiba glanced up at the dog on his head who yipped then back at the platinum blond, "I thought that you said that you hated Naruto yesterday?"

Sheepishly laughing and rubbing the back of her neck Ino fessed up to her new squadmate, "Well.. not really.. we have actually been friends for a long time.. but you see.. Sasuke.."

Putting his hand up in the air Kiba didn't even need her to finish, he already knew what the reason was, "But since you like Sasuke and Sasuke hates Naruto you pretend to hate him, what a great friend you are. Honestly, seems to be a whole new level of shallow in my opinion."

Hanging her head in shame a little Ino looked at the ground, she didn't have a retort, she couldn't defend those actions. That was when the other blond spoke up, seeing as he didn't like seeing his oldest friend looking sad, "That's enough Kiba... we all need to focus on the task at hand."

The two male teens looked at one another for a moment until Kiba sighed with a nod. Understanding what Naruto was quietly communicating to him, hestarted to stretch for the upcoming test with Jiraiya. Seeing as that was appearing to be taken care of Naruto continued with his stretching as well. Ino watched as Naruto continued to stretch and then did the same, when Kiba wasn't paying attention she nudged Naruto with a smile, "Thank you Naruto."

Nodding and smiling back at her the team all stretched their bodies When they heard grass crunching under feet they looked up to see that Jiraiya was walking over with a black eye. All Naruto could do was shake his head, honestly a bit ashamed that this man was his godfather, "Stupid old pervert got caught again."

Once Jiraiya came over, he explained the test to them, it was the bell test but a different style then the one Minato had taught Kakashi, "..long story short, someone has to get the bells by sundown or you will all fail and go back to the Academy, understood? I will even make it interesting, if you get the bell by lunch, then I will even buy the whole team lunch!"

They all nodded before they jumped back into hiding, Naruto sat in a tree and waited to see a opening that he could use to his advantage. Ino was underneath a bush watching carefully, she could try to use her Mind Body Switching Jutsu and take off the bells too roll them to her body but it was dangerous against someone on Jiraiyas level. Kiba was just watching, he was a more of assault and head on fight type of ninja, he would really only serve as a distraction. Naruto sighed when he realized that none of his teammates were going to make a move and put a seal on the branch to transport back.

Reaching down into his kunai holsters, he drew out 3 marked kunai and threw them from the branch he had been perched on. He took a deep breath then flashed to the one in the air in front of Jiraiya. He grabbed the kunai and threw it at Jiraiya. The Sannin easily moved out of the way, letting it fly past him, making Naruto smirk as he flashed to it. Naruto quickly reached for the bells, trying to get a hold of them. Knowing that Jiraiya would be expecting this though, since the man knew his jutsu arsenal, he was barely able to touch the bell before Jiraiya sent him. Jiraiya didn't know that Naruto had touched the bell with the purpose of placing his seal.

As Naruto went tumbling through the bushes both of his teammates appeared and caught him. As he looked up, a bit of a smirk on his face, Ino reprimanded him in a hushed tone, "Naruto you idiot, why would you just full on attack him like that!? You must have known that the attack wouldn't work against someone on his level!"

Naruto smiled at her as he slowly got back onto his feet, a new determined air about him, "I don't know what your talking, about my plan worked perfectly."

With that Naruto flashed away again by the bells and grabbed them before transporting to his kunai in the trees. His speed was truly incredible, though it wasn't on the level of his fathers, but that was too be expected. Still Jiraiya didn't even notice Naruto take the bells from him, for that to happen to a Sannin is a feat on its own. Naruto jumped down to the ground from the branch, landing in front of Jiraiya again, this time with a large smirk plastered on his face, "I won Jiraiya-sensei."

Not taking the boy seriously, Jiraiya let out a mocking laugh as he reached down to hit the bells. As he swiped his hand though, it was met with nothing but air. Naruto lifted his hand and pointed at them as he jingled them a little, "Told you so."

His mouth hanging open Jiraiya stared at his godson, flabergasted, when did the little bastard take them from him? Still staring at the boy he thought about it, that was when suddenly it hit him, when Naruto touched the bell he put a seal on it. Jiraiya looked up at Naruto who was still smiling proudly, "When did you figure out your chakra seal for the Flying Thunder God Jutsu, Naruto?"

Said teen looked at him, he stopped smiling as he got a more serious look, "A couple of days ago, that was the whole point of my attack. As long as I could touch the bell, I knew that with that, I could grab it later. That is why I threw the kunai with my seals on them. I knew that you didn't know that I had figured out my chakra seal so I used it to my advantage. Pretty clever for a Genin wasn't it?"

The Sannin had to give it to him, he did use every advantage he had. On top of the fact that he knew an already difficult jutsu to go against, he knew his opponent. Continuing to use the kunai at the start was the clinching moment though. Without that, the old Sannin would have stayed on his guard more, seeing the kunai made it not even register as a possibility that he had figured that out. Jiraiya proudly proclaimed they all passed and went to leave until Naruto cleared his throat, "I believe that you said that you were going to buy us lunch Jiraiya-sensei, I worked up quite an appetite with that as well, winning is hungry work after all."

Throughout the Village Hidden in the Leaves you could hear a loud groan. If you were close enough to the source of the groan then you would have seen 3 Genin being escorted by a Sannin, the three younger ones with proud smiles on their faces, the Sannin with an annoyed look. This was now, Team 10.
