Hello Old Friends!

Disclaimer: I don't own Ninjago (Maybe I can make a reboot of it in the future. Nah it'll end up like Teen Titans, Ben 10, and PPG :( )

Chapter 6: Caught off Guard

Jay POV

After my trip and discovering the next location- thanks to oil spilling on the map. Your welcome guys. We went inside my mom and dad's trailer.

The map had the same chicken scratch that Lloyd only seemed to be able to read. Guess that's a cool power. There was a line drawn in the middle of the page, dividing it into two. On the right side was an image of the Lost City of Ouroboros. Guess we gotta go back there. Woo! Yes that was sarcasm. I'm fluent in it.

On the left was a symbol of a rose. A rose that was trapped in a walls of a heptagon. The writing underneath the picture was too small to read.

"Guys these symbols just mean our elements." Lloyd explained and one by one he translated each of them, "Fire, lightning, energy, earth, water, ice and... life." (AN: Hey guys. So want to imagine how the symbols look like? Just search these up in Japanese. There ya go. Your welcome. )

"Life? We don't know anyone with that element." Cole spoke up, everyone's head turning to look at him.

"I know. But that's what it says." The kid looked back down at the paper and read, "Follow the instructions, Ninja. Your Sensei depends on you. You will separate into two groups—"

Kai interrupted, "Are we actually going to follow these instructions? It could be a trap."

Believe it or not. I had the courage to answer him. I turned my head to the right of me, "Yeah but they have the upper hand, Kai. If we don't, who knows what they'll do to Sensei." And scene. I didn't embarrass myself! I deserve a round of applause. A thank you.

Anyways I guess he understood what I was saying since he nodded in agreement. I smiled back at him. He's just one to act. Like Sensei said he has the fire within him. Heh yeah. NOPE JAY! No thinking of him at all. My attention back to our green leader. (AN: Red Leader! Sorry that's another fandom)

Lloyd stared deeply at the image of the rose, "This symbol seems familiar..."

"We'll figure that one out Lloyd. If I'm translating this right, Cole, Zane and I have to go look for it." Nya pointed at herself. Cole and Zane nodding in agreement.

"I have saved the image into my database. Nya and Cole let's head out on our dragons. PIXAL is analyzing the possible locations of this symbol." Zane headed out with Cole and Nya behind him.

I heard Cole whisper that Nya could ride shotgun with him on his dragon. Is that even possible? Nya's been practicing but she still can't make her dragon stay. She'll get it soon enou— Kai!

"We better head out too." He turned to leave with Lloyd following behind. The kid rolling the map back up.

My dad held the door as Kai and Lloyd walked out, thanking my mom for the snacks. "Oh gee Jay. You guys leaving so soon?" My dad placed his red tool box down.

I nodded. With a frown I said, "Sorry dad. Ninja business never sleeps. Sensei's in trouble and we need to help him. I'll visit ya guys soon."

"Well stay safe then sweetie. And don't forget to call us." My mom approached me and kissed my check.

I quickly looked around to see if anyone noticed. Guess what? They didn't. Maybe my lucks turning. Except for that fact that I'm stuck with Kai and the only person who knows my feelings for Kai. Great.

"Yeah mom. Bye. Love ya guys." I waved at her and then ran towards the guys that were waiting for me on their dragons.

But before I can go my mom grabbed my arm and said in a low voice -that's dangerous- "He's a cutie. Don't lose him."

WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT?!

She winked and headed inside the trailer, leaving me with an opened mouth. The little twerp was... right? But how? How does she know?! Am I that obvious?!

I shook my head and turned on my heels, creating my dragon and flying off with the guys to Ouroboros.

Nya's POV

I held onto Cole. My arms wrapped around his waist. I wish I could make my dragon already. I mean I unlocked my true potential faster than the boys but this stupid water dragon just doesn't want to come out. At least I have Cole to count on. I smiled at him. The recipient not noticing because he was paying attention to the... sky? Sky up ahead. You know not to crash into a bird or Zane.

"We should be arriving at Stixx soon." Zane announced and gave us the exact time.

I don't have a watch so yeah. I can feel Cole tense up when Zane mentioned Stixx. A place covered with water isn't exactly a vacation for a ghost. I hugged him tighter to give him reassurance. It worked.

When Stixx was finally in view, we landed on the bridge that lead to the entrance. The village was still in shambles from the fight with Morro and the Preeminent. The villagers gave us glares as we walked by. Some even mumbling offensive language.

"Just ignore them Nya. They won't get to you when I'm around. Or they won't get to me when you're around." My earth master went to grab my hand in his own. A chuckle escaping my lips.

That was romantic, right? He just knows how to say these little things that make me smile. My heart skips a beat whenever he's around. I hold onto his hand tighter and ignored the angry villagers.

"What are you guys doing here?" My head turned to see who that familiar voice belong to. Ronin was placing money into his pocket as he walked up to us. "You guys sure have guts to be hanging around with a crowd that don't like you."

"We're here on a mission Ronin." I informed him as he looked over my way with a smug smile.

"Yeah. Hey you used to live here Ronin. Can you tell us anything about this?" Cole motioned for Zane to project the image of the rose.

Ronin studied the image with his one eye and shrugged, "What the flower shop? That humble Morales family don't do nothing except stay in their shop. Until the attack on Stixx, now their place is a wreck." He pointed to a shop on the corner and across the street from us.

There it was. The symbol of a heptagon and rose inside it.

"Thank you Ronin for your assistance." Zane bowed his head quickly then walked to the shop. Cole and I following behind after saying our goodbyes to our friend.

Ronin wasn't kidding. Half of the building was gone and the part still standing had a broken window and ruined wallpaper. Aw this poor little business, I thought. There was young girl, with hair to her back cleaning. She was pretty and wore a smile as she hummed to a tune in her head.

I cleared my throat as I approached her. I waved my hand, "Hello there m'am." Cole came with me, still holding my hand. He's so adorable!

She stared up at me with green orbs. She lifted one hand to swoop her light brown hair behind her ear, "Oh hi. How can I help you?" Her voice coming out sweet and soft.

"We are looking for someone," The raven haired boy spoke first, but I cut him off. He's adorable but I can ask a couple of questions and focus.

"We are looking for the Master of Life. We—" She had me pinned on the floor in seconds.

Jay's POV

Okay so the ride to the city wasn't /that/ long as I hoped for. Yet again I used the strategy of flying faster to avoid Kai. Wow I am a coward. I'm just afraid I'll mess up again.

I mean as friends I would laugh it off and so will he but now with these thoughts and the stupid pink rays. I just wanna be able to talk with him without looking stupid.

*Inhales and exhales* Well I guess I can figure that out while we explore the ancient city.

My dragon disappeared a few feet off the ground as I landed on the sand. Two thuds coming from behind me. Kai and Lloyd caught up to me and we all just stood and stared at the forgotten city.

"Man how long has it been since we've been here?" Kai asked out loud, walking to the center of the city.

Lloyd walked and talked, "I think the last time we were here was to rescue you, Kai. Remember that /Jay/?"

Are you serious? He want to get hit again again. I cleared my throat and nodded, trying to recall the memory. "Oh yeah. The solo mission where you almost got barbecued." I chuckled as I looked over to Kai.

"Haha Sparky. If I recall someone was to busy on a date to win my sister to come and help." Oh shots fired by the fire master himself. Lloyd laughed in front of us.

"Woah hoo. Someone shouldn't have been so careless. I mean launching missies and giving yourself away. Come on now." I retorted an amused smile.

"Careless?" A fake gasp escaped his parted lips. "When have I ever been careless?" He pointed to himself.

I hadn't noticed but I was walking closer to him. Lloyd had stopped walking and turned to face us.

"Do you really wanna go there- aaaah!"

We didn't even noticed that we had reached the middle of the city, where the ground opened underneath our feet, sending us into darkness.
