Hello Old Friends!

How's it going? Anyone see the new Avengers movie or the new episode of Ninjago on Monday? I was freaking out when Kai and Jay were alone~! And soon to be alone underground! We didn't see them that much but they were together~~~ oh the life of a hardcore plasmashipper X3

Chapter 9: The Candle that Causes Trouble

Jay's POV

Mistaké tea shop. Or tea warehouse. Or tea store or market... whatever she calls it. Nya told me that she once called Sensei an old fool! How hilarious is that?! I would've died right there! Old fool heh. Mistaké can be pretty rude - at times in a funny way- and that's why I'm going to do the talking.

Okay so after the whole paper literally flying above us and not being airplane shaped, we split the team again. Zane, Nya, Cole, and the new girl found a drawing of some place near Tiger Widow Island. It was revealed at the bottom after the message while Kai and I went to get this magical candle and... flame? Can't Kai just light it up? I mean he conjures fire! But no we have to go travel someplace else. We're like Velescure's little errand boys. I mean I guess it has to be magic enchanted fire-BUT Kai's fire is magical just like him~ uhhh... ignore that...

Even though this is going to be very and I mean /very/ difficult since I have to be with him through this whole debacle, I'm just glad I'm not with the other guys. They have to go to an island inhabited by a spider. A GIANT POISONOUS SPIDER! No it couldn't just be big it had to be poisonous. Ugh Ninjago! Why?!

Well Mistaké won't be as bad as that... I hope. Like I stated earlier that is why I will do the talking. You see my little fire master isn't exactly patient or one to ask for things politely.. he has an attitude! (Whichisadorableaf!) And we really need this candle to get Lloyd and Wu back. Without money and not having a lot of time, Kai and I have to get this quick without making this woman blow up.

"Okay there she is." Kai said as I looked over at him, his red dragon disappearing.

I turned to look at Mistaké who was sweeping the front of her shop. The usual scowl on her face. I looked back at him, "Well she seems like she's in a good mood."

"Doesn't matter if she is or not," The fire elemental began to walk towards her, "we need that candle."

"Ah ah ah no. Slow down there hothead." I quickly went to stop him, placing my palms on his chest. He's so warm! I looked up at him, "Remember what we agreed on, I'll do the talking." I pointed at myself with my right hand.

He frowned, rolling his eyes, "Fine just make it quick. It's getting dark." He backed up— AND OH MY SPINJITZU MASTER I hadn't even noticed that my hand was still on his chest! I felt the familiar heat on my cheeks and quickly turned walking to the older woman.

She remained sweeping, the sound of the broom scraping the floor irritating me. I cleared my throat, "Mistaké?" She didn't answer. Actually I don't think she noticed me, her back was facing me. I tried again but this time I said it louder, "Mistaké?" She still continued to sweep, the scrapping becoming louder. Is she trying to tune me out?

I glanced over my shoulder to notice Kai was watching with his arms crossed over his chest. I could tell from his expression he was telling me to keep on trying. I sighed and turned back around. This time I poked her softly- and I mean softly- and said, "Mistaké?"

What happened next was to fast! She had me pinned on the wall in seconds and Kai had rushed over. Oh yeah. I can feel the pain now. Ow.

"You 'Ninja' should not have come here." She spat, her broom pointed at the brunette.

"Look Mistaké..." I tried to speak but her hold on my neck really wouldn't let me. I mean Underworld she's strong! Maybe there's a tea she drinks for that...

"Look lady! We came here for a magical candle to help save our Sensei and the Green Ninja." Kai explained, she looked at him, skeptical.

"I know who you really are! You will not fool me girl! I warned you two not to come back here again!" Her grip on me tightened and I gasped. Girl? I thought spotting Kai's hand be engulfed in flames, my vision beginning to blur.

"I don't know who you think I am but.. Let. Him. Go." Kai said coldly and ready to barbecue her. If I wasn't currently dying right now I would be going crazy! I mean I'm already red in the face cause the choking but I'm blushing! Spinjitzu master this guy! Stupid pink rays are starting to win!

"Never girlie! Not until you show the real you!"

I was gasping for air. All I could think of was what was Mistaké talking about? The real you?! What real you!? What does she...Ahhh! Girl! She thinks... she thinks... she thinks we're those kids that were with Velescure. Oh no!

Before Kai could burn her... well maybe her broom since Kai isn't evil, I shot a small electric shock at Mistaké using all the energy I had left. She yelped and her hold on me weakened, Kai took this opportunity to trip her and over her own broom and she fell to the floor on her rump.

I fell to the ground, gasping horrendously for some air in my lungs, my throat hurting and bruises beginning to form around my neck. Kai kneeled beside me, placing one arm around my shoulders.

"That's it Jay just keep breathing." I saw him frown as I repositioned myself. Man he looked really worried not an expression I like seeing on him. It hurts my heart. I felt his hand reach up and cup my cheek, his thumb wiping a tear away. He asked, "You okay?"

I continued to gasp for air and nodded slowly, regretting that since it sent a pain to my neck. My voice came out hoarse, "I'm fine. Thanks."

He nodded but then looked behind me where I'm guessing Mistaké had gotten up. She spoke, "I am so sorry Ninja. I had thought you were Gypsy and Farris. Those two brats have come here nonstop to terrorize my shop for that no good Velescure." She approaches us and looks at me, "I have the perfect tea for that, if you'll follow me." She motioned for Kai and I to follow.

Kai helped my slowly to get on my feet although I insisted I could've done it myself but whatever. Also I don't really mind! He wanted to help. He helped me get inside and sit and even got my tea for me when it was ready. So if ya get hurt, Kai acts like a mom towards ya. Good to know :)

I blowed on the tea and took a sip. It tasted like a bunch of herbs mixed together but packed a punch when swallowed. My throat hurt for a second before it disappeared and I felt great.

"Woah what's in this?" I spoke up. Mistaké smiles (weird! I've never seen that!) and explained it was a secret elixir. "Secret? So like magic? Like Sensei Wu's teas? Does that mean Wu also has this? If so, how come he doesn't just give it to me when I have a sore throat or-?"

"There's the chatterbox." Kai interrupted me, laughing slightly and Mistaké joined him.

I smiled slightly, "Feeling better than ever so be prepared." I joked and winked at Kai who smiled amused. That smile...!

"Can't imagine anything else." He retorted leaning against the wall as Mistaké made her way through.

"I'm so sorry Master of Lightning yet again." She sat down in a chair next to me, "With Gypsy's power you don't know what to believe."

"Power?" Kai and I asked at the same time. Oh saw that we were in unison! Okay back to focusing on Mistaké.

"So you know who they are? Who Velescure is?" Kai inquired stepping closer to her and I.

The older woman nodded, taking a sip of her tea, "I've known them for quite some time. I called them friends until they started to work for Harold."

Harold?! Haha! No wonder he calls himself Velescure. I mean with a name like that it doesn't quite sound very menacing. Harold dun dun dun! Nope! Not at all.

"They were sweet children that came from another dimension years ago. And in that dimension everyone has powers and the Chosen are the ones who have none. For power brings chaos. Farris and Gypsy escaped their dimension and landed here. Wu and I found them in the woods during the beginning of the Serpentine Wars.

"Gypsy has the power of hallucinations and illusions. She can make you see things that aren't there or turn things into something they aren't. Her power is dangerous and you begin to doubt yourself. That is why I believed you were Farris and you were Gypsy." She pointed at me and then Kai, "Until you used your elements and it had an effect."

"Oh great! So now we can't trust our own eyes." I complained looking down at my tea and stirring it.

"What about Farris?" I heard Kai ask. He probably has some... some crazy lava powers or laser beams. Who knows?! But they might just be as crazy as Gypsy's.

"Farris unlike Gypsy has multiple powers from a scream like a banshee to absorbing all the light and surrounding you in darkness."

"Great..." I commented sarcastically and I can just see Kai rolling his eyes at me.

Mistaké stood up, placing her empty cup on a nearby table, and walked towards her many shelves. She shuffled through some stuff but came out with a golden candle. There it is! It looked like a pretty normal boring candle.

"This is the easy part of your journey Lightning and Fire. The flame to light this won't be." She walked past Kai - who had his hand out to take it- and instead gave it to me. I took a hold of it as she turned to glance at Kai, "You shall never touch this candle, Fire Element. Or destruction will come upon you."

To quote Jefferson: "Whaaaaaaaaa?"

Kai's expression shifted to one of shock as he heard her words. His mouth slightly open and eyes focused on the candle. Okay so Velescure or Harold sent someone who could never touch the candle to retrieve it! Another villian trying to destroy Ninjago! Of course! No he doesn't want to take it over but instead burn it into the ground! Man that is so evil!

Kai continued to watch the candle and he looked dazed, his stare fixated on it and it made me uncomfortable. He was practically staring at me so I shifted the candle and placed it out of sight.

Kai's gaze turned to the floor and then at Mistaké as he slowly nodded. "Yeah... of course." He told her his voice soft.

"Keep it close." The tea shop owner told me and then handed me a small brown satchel which I put the candle inside. Out of sight and out of Kai's mind.

She escorted us out, the dark sky above us. Well we got one more night to go to retrieve this flame and meet up with the team again. Kai and I both made our dragons and hopped on but before we can fly off Mistaké gave us one more piece of advice.

"Velescure as he goes by now has no powers. It's the kids, that have a heart, you should be scared of."
