Hello Old Friends!

Welcome to the next chapter! I can't believe I've come this far. I know I take forever to update but I won't just give up on it. My love for Plasma will never leave so I need to write and end my first not one-shot story. I recently got reminded why I love Ninjago so much by watching the new season? Special? I don't know but with Asphera and I freaking love her! So I'm in the Ninjago hype and back to write!

SOOOOOOO

As you can probably tell, my Ninjago hype did not last long at all. So i haven't published this chapter yet until now.

Anyways , I'm not really in a hype but I still do love it (Master of the Mountain was so good!) . But my Plasma hype is still very high as always ! ( i just express it in different ways then writing lol)

I've been pretty busy but this year should be the end of this long story that has taken me waaaaaaaaaay to long to complete. To be honest, I didn't know this story was gonna come this far. And I'm really glad it did ! Thank you !

It was just gonna be a one shot with a cliffhanger ending. But I kept going and I'm happy i did ! I hope my writing has improved. I have seen some improvement when i re read the story to write this new chapter. The second to last chapter of 'Who's Your Perfect Match?'

Well enough blabbing. Enjoy and stay safe 3

That was past me, but I'm not adding another intro (Nov 2020)

Enjoy!

Disclaimer: I don't own Ninjago! (If I did I'll probably kill off a main character and let them stay dead since I'm evil đŸ˜ˆ)

Chapter 12: Water You Like it or Not

Lloyd POV

"Hey? Hello?" I shake her slightly, her head resting of my lap as I wipe the blood off her right cheek.

Her eyes flutter and she quietly moans. She shuts them tight and turns, lifting her hand to rub her eyes. I put the rag down and back inside the bowl of water beside me. "Are you okay?" Even though she had blood on her cheek she didn't seem to be harmed anywhere. When the lad, dressed in purple came to drop her off, I noticed she was wearing vengestone chains. Guess she's an elemental master but I don't recall seeing her in Chen's tournament, although she did look familiar.

PiNG!

I tried to recall where I've seen her but I got a bad headache from trying. I've been having a lot of those recently.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when she sat up. Her long light brown hair slapping me in the face when she looked around the place in panic. I can hear her breathing quicken and quickly tried to sooth her. "Hey it's okay. It's okay."

She turned to look at me. Her green orbs staring at my own. We looked at each other for what felt like a lifetime. Her eyes. They looked so familiar...

PInG!

I closed my eyes quickly and rubbed my temples. I can hear her take a deep breath then mutter out, "Are-are you okay?" I nodded slowly. "Are you sure? You look like you're in pain?"

"It's nothing. Just a head-" I opened my eyes to see her hand reaching up to my cheek. "-ache. Ummm I'm Lloyd." I scooted a bit back, feeling a bit uncomfortable from her intense gaze. She stopped her action, closing her hand into a fist. I put my hand out for a shake.

The green eyed girl smiles and takes my hand, "It's okay. I won't hurt you. I'm Mikayla. And of course I already know who you are, Green Ninja." She swooped stray pieces of hair behind her ear, she was looking down at the wooden floor now. "I use to bump into you when I went to the tea shop. But you didn't have a black eye then. I mean-! Unless it's a new look! Like dark eyeshadow or something! Maybe guy-liner? I mean-!" She seemed fluster and- nervous?

I chuckle, "A gift. Given to me by the Captain of this ship." I told her while gesturing around me. Her face changed as she expressed sadness. She once again reached for my bruised face. I tried to say something but she shushed me and placed her hand near my eye. I winced as she hummed in a soft tone.

Kind of reminded me of a movie I've seen...

Mikayla's voice was beautiful. Well her hum- but I can't imagine how wonderful her singing voice must be! Her palm began to glow a pink color and I felt a sharp pain on my left eye before it disappeared along with all the pain I had from the beating yesterday. My headache was gone. So was the throbbing of the bruised eye. My sore back. My stunned gaze met hers as she smiled softly then pulled away.

That's when we heard the clapping.

We both turned to look at the source. No surprise, there was Velescure. His hat placed underneath one of his arms, as his messy red hair covered his eye and eye patch. He smiled happily, revealing his golden and silver teeth, walking closer to the gate of our cell. I automatically pushed Mikayla behind me. My glare staying on him as he chuckled.

"Captivating," He gestured to the two of us, chuckling once again. "Already getting comfortable?" He began to walk along the cages walls, dragging his fingers on the bars. "Oh lass, what an extraordinary ability you possess. Simply beautiful!" Velescure clapped once again, loudly and the grin never leaving his smug face.

I felt Mikayla lean into me, my cheeks blushing slightly. I guess I made her feel safe. Well I am the Green Ninja. I have a reputation of being Ninjago's caretaker. But what does this ugly piece of crap even want from her? Obviously her element, I know. Her element to heal is pretty powerful... Well he's not getting anywhere near her on my watch.

"Calm yourself Energy. Velescure won't try anything, he gives his word. He is still waiting on your idiot teammates. Until then, Mikayla is useless to him." He looks at me then slams onto the bars, causing both Mikayla and I to jump. He laughs, a dry and long one, then continues to say, "But you Energy. Just got me what I needed." He turns his gaze back to Mikayla.

I grew worried for what he was planning for her. I've gotten no word on this guys plan. Usually I would know by now what the bad guys are up to but him. He normally just comes down to beat me since his henchman and woman are always out doing his evil deeds. Maybe Mikayla knows something or knows something about the Ninja's current whereabouts.

I'm snapped out of my thoughts when Velescure coughed and backed away from our cell, now trudging back to the entrance. My gaze never left his form until I knew he was gone from the room. When his silhouette finally disappeared and I can hear the loud thumps of his boots head back onto the deck, I turn to look at Mikayla. She sat down on the wooden floor, crossing her legs and looking up at me.

I sit down beside her as she says, "What does he mean he got what he needed?" She points to the empty spot Velescure once was. I shrug and she sighs in a sad tone. She uncrosses her legs and pulls her knees up against her chest. Her chin now resting there as her eyes seem to become glossy.

Oh I hope not... I mean I don't want her to cry. I can say, with all honesty, that I'm okay at comforting family.

Keyword: family

But Mikayla, someone I barely know - but would like to get to know- is a whole new different story. Although, she should know I would always be there for her. So I place a hand on her shoulder and smile softly at her. She returns the smile.

We sat there in silence. Not awkward silence. Or weird silence I have with the dudes. But a comfortable one. It's like Mikayla and I both know that we're thinking about: what Velescure meant and about his future plans for Ninjago. We both are probably thinking about when we'll get out of here or how we will. Maybe both thinking about a plan to escape right now.

It's weird...

I feel like I've known her all my life. Almost as if she's my best friend that knows everything about me and I of her. My eyes shift to land on her as she stares at her hands. I hadn't noticed this before but she had what seemed to be a flower shaped birthmark on her left cheek. It's really cute and compliments her nicely. It was lighter than her light brown skin and hair. It almost seemed to ... Shine ?

I saw her shift under my gaze and quickly looked away. I felt my heartbeat quicken as I noticed her looking up and at me. Afraid she was gonna call me out for looking at her for who knows how long, I quickly began to think of excuses.

"Lloyd?" I heard her call and I turned my gaze her way. Okay if she asks, I can simply say that I dazed out looking at her. I mean it happens. And it's one of the most awkward situations ever but it happens. "I guess," She lifted her hand to rest on her left cheek, "you were probably wondering about this scar."

"Scar?" I blurted out. I mentally facepalmed, regretting that I said that way to loud- like Jay would- and didn't want to seem rude. I chuckle nervously then try again. "Oh that's a scar? I-I thought it was some kind of birthmark. " Now that I look at it, clearly without being scared of getting caught, I can see the slight bump. "Sorry for um staring."

"It's okay." Her gaze went back to the floor. "Unfortunately not. I've had this scar since I was born. My mother, she was very ill when giving birth to me. She died hours later and I fell into a deep sleep. It turns out I inherited her element, Life. My element was healing me while I slept and time stopped for me until this scar was fully healed."

Hold on a second. "Your element is Life?" I've heard stories about this element from my mother when I was younger. Way before she dropped me off to boarding school to begin her research. She spoke tales of this element being almost as powerful as Power, Creation, and Destruction. Unlike Creation, this element will not allow you to die. You will never fall ill. Never scar or have a broken bone after a fall. This element worked quick. I kind of hoped back then that I would somehow have this element since my uncle, father, and Grandpa had the other three.

"Yeah," She nodded, "My mom was the only Master of Life for years until -well I was born. She knew the risks but didn't care. She wanted a family. When I grew older, my sister gave me a letter my mother left for me. She wrote," A tear spilled from her eye, "Never let anyone take this power away from you. Stay safe and be cautious. I'm sorry."

I moved to sit beside her instead of in front of her and placed my arm around her shoulders. More tears fell and she began to wipe them away.

She thanked me softly for the comfort, her gaze down on the floor. I couldn't see her expression but her shaking and balled fists gave me a clue of what she was feeling next.

"Adaline was right," She sniffed, "I should've stay put and quiet then maybe you wouldn't be in danger because of me. And this stupid element!" Mikayla hugged her knees and buried her face into her arms, angry sobs escaping her shaken form.

"No Mikayla. You shouldn't put any of this blame on your shoulders. It's not yours to take. Or the element you are blessed with. Destiny... it works in weird ways. This element you have," I took hold of her hand with mine and looked into her eyes. Tears still falling from hers as I continued, "it's amazing and powerful. It makes you, you. You already knew you can't just keep it locked away. You know you can help. That's what makes it and you special. It's not your fault but his. But we can stop him. Together." I tighten my grip and she smiles. She hugs me and I gladly hug back, feeling the heat on my cheeks once again.

We hugged a little while longer but it wasn't awkward or anything, just very comforting. I was the one to pull away as I leaned back against the wall of our cell. She did the same with her arms still hugging her knees. We fell into silence once again.

A few moments later, Mikayla drifted away into the land of sleep. I stayed on guard.

—

Guess his henchman is back. I look up to see the young boy place two trays down on the floor and then slide it inside.

Mikayla had fallen asleep on me. I couldn't fall asleep. I had to keep my guard up. She's been sleeping for about a hour, but I don't want to wake her up just for food... Or maybe I do?

The boy looks at her then turns. Hopefully he sensed my threat that wasn't spoken but given in a look. A look that yelled, 'To keep away and go away.' Which to my satisfaction, he did.

He normally doesn't talk to me when he visits. Gypsy does but not him. Imagine Gypsy as being a girl Jay. When her mouth gets going, she does not stop. While the boy just listens and nods but he seems to drift into another world. Gypsy only calls him lad and he doesn't answer me when I ask his name. So Boy it is.

I look at his still form. He stands between the cell and the door. He seems hesitant to leave and his hands fidget. His head is down and looking at the floor. I wonder if he can sense my stare.

In the time I've been trapped here, I've asked both of them for help. I've offered help and other things since Gypsy and him just follow orders and don't do any malicious things to me. Boy looks as if he wants to help. Gypsy merely covers her ears and runs upstairs. Maybe both feel a little bit of guilt. I can definitely feel Boy regretting this.

I don't know if he knows I'm watching but I can seen him fumble with the keys and look at the lock on my cell. Back and forth his gaze went.

He wants to help.

However something or someone stops him so he grunts and leaves quickly.

Again. He does this every time he is down here. Every time he gives me food.

I see his form fade away then turn my gaze to the trays. I look down at Mikayla and simply lift her onto my lap then place her back down. She was using my mask as a pillow.

Very cute ^^

I move to the trays and bring them close to me and set hers aside. As always, the chicken is cold so I heat it up with my green flames and begin to dig in.

Nya POV

I groggily open my eyes. I shiver and reach for the covers. Ugh Kai! Always putting the air in freezing mode, Mister Hothead. Not all of us have automatic heat due to our element—

Wait a tic-

Kai... Kai. He's with Jay. He's not here at the Boun— I set my hand beside me and feel the cold stone floor. My memories flooding back to me.

I instantly sit up and look around but I couldn't see a thing. I start to feel around, remembering that the last place I recall being was in a cave with a dangerous spider.

My heart pounds inside my chest as I frantically feel around and pray that my vision adjusts faster to the dark. I have no luck. Feeling no one and nothing beside me. I felt a bit relieved knowing that the spider wasn't near me. I try to steady the beating of my heart to hear my surroundings but it's quiet. If Cole and Zane were here I don't think they've woken up.

Well I can't just sit still and look pretty. I get on my feet and outstretched my hands around me. Maybe my new added height would feel something. Unfortunately not, so I decide to walk forward. My arms still out in front of me so I don't bump into anything or anyone. Man these are one of those times that I wished my element was Fire and Lightning. Water does not glow in the dark! I have to remind myself to start carrying a flashlight or wearing my old Samurai X bracelet that had a built in flashlight.

I continue on, slowly, my foot feeling a rock that could've made me trip. My hand lands on a hard object, pointed at the end and cold. It's a rock. I lean on it, my now adjusted view pinning out dark shadows of rocks and... I'm guessing the Tiger Widow.

A huge shadow that I would've bumped into if I went the other way. My heart began to race again as I continue my search from rock to rock and bending down every now and then to see if I can feel Cole or Zane.

I reach the wall of the cave and start to follow it. My hand dragging along it as I squint ahead. Then I felt a cold breeze brush pass me and I stop. I shiver and look behind me, hearing, "Just go right through me."

I can't help but smile as I hear his voice. Cole was probably as scared as I was if he couldn't keep tangible.

I throw my arms around him- not going through him this time- and whisper, "I'm glad you're alright."

"What? You don't actually think a big ole spider is gonna scare this ghost away." I can just see his smug expression as I tiptoe to place a quick kiss on his cheek. "I'm relieved to know you're okay too. I tried calling out but no one can quite hear the whisper."

"I wasn't going to try in case I get the wrong attention." I turn my gaze to the huge shadow. "We need to find Zane so we can get off this island to save Mikayla. I can't believe they took her."

I felt Cole's hand land on my cheek then work its way down to my shoulder. I wish I could see his face clearly but I could just feel his comforting smile. "Don't worry, Nya. We'll get her back. Lloyd and Sensei Wu too. Now here," He takes my hand in his, "Stay close so we don't lose each other."

I nod- although I'm pretty sure he couldn't see- as he leads the way. With my other hand I feel around, until I see a faint light coming from the other way we were headed. I tug on Cole's hand as he stops and turns to me. I can tell he sees the light, as I start to lead the way there.

Just a few more steps and Cole and I can clearly see the figure who was- well the light.

"Zane!" Cole whisper yells the nindroids name as he pats his back. Said nindroid giving us a warm smile.

With the added light, I can see our new surroundings. We were no longer in the part of the cave where the Tiger Widow was but instead we can hear loud rushing water. I can feel Cole tense beside me.

"The entrance is blocked. We will have to find another way out of here." Zane informs us as he turns his head to the cave inside the cave, the splashes of water hitting rock can be heard from here.

Even in the dim light I could see Cole shaking. I would be too if I was a ghost. But he shouldn't be afraid ! I'll be there with him. I'll protect him from my own element. Always. Before I could reassure him, he rebuttal. He told Zane that maybe he could move the rocks that was blocking the way out but Zane instantly answered that it would be too dangerous.

"We do not have much time before the Tiger Widow wakes up. Going through the inner caves would be our fastest and safest route." The nindroid stated, his gaze past Cole and I. He was staring at the gigantic spider behind me. The reminder that that thing was behind me sent shivers down my spine.

Cole gives out a defeated sigh as he says, "You have a point." He nods and takes my hand. I take his hand happily in mine as I smile. He smiles back, "Well let's get going then."

Zane nods and leads the way. He was our light after all.

We were walking in the caves for quite a while before we all could clearly see where the sound of water was coming from.

Ahead of us, was a huge waterfall and stream. It was a gorgeous sight. The water glistened as the sunlight from outside entered through the small holes on the cave's ceilings. The stream was surrounded by rocks and weeds. The loud waterfall was an annoying sound as we walked by. Waterfalls were always so loud but they are really a beautiful sight to behold. Cole's hand, that was entwined with mine, wasn't tense as we passed by. He seemed to be amazed by the sight as well.

Cole and I peacefully watched the streams as Zane attempted airjitzu- or cyclone-do as Jay would exclaim- to reach the holes in the ceilings. It was a bust. He couldn't fit so instead he fell back down into the stream. It wasn't a far fall but he splashed us a little. I quickly used my power to stop the water droplets from landing on my ghost boy.

"We should just keep going. I'm sure we'll find an exit soon." I extended my hand out to Zane to help him out of the stream. Cole and him nodded in agreement and we continued our journey to find a way out of here.

We made markings on the rocks so we wouldn't be traveling in circles. Some time had passed since we passed the stream and waterfall. We could no longer hear the rushing water and the cave was quiet except for out footsteps. There was no light but it wasn't quite dark either. We could see but Zane had turn on his head light once again.

The Tiger Widow sure did have a nice big cave to live in. I'm hoping she doesn't wake up and come into these caves to explore or something. Hopefully when she awakens, she will leave the cave, that way we would never bump into her. I mean, after all these hours, we maybe should've already bumped into her, right?

I wouldn't really say that I'm afraid of spiders. Out of the six of us, I would say Lloyd would be most scared and Jay comes in second. I recall one time Lloyd freaking out about that one scene in Jumanji: those big spiders and the close up of those spidery faces. He had nightmares about them for like a week or so.

I chuckle softly as I remember that sweet memory.

I sure hope Lloyd is doing fine.

I hope Mikayla is alright.

I hope Sensei Wu is with them.

I hope Kai and Jay are already at the Bounty. The two waiting for us or maybe even coming to find us.

These caves are taker longer than we could've imagined to get out of. We couldn't tell what time it was outside but I would probably be over exaggerating if I would say its nighttime. It probably had passed three -four hours at most- since we've waken up to find Mikayla gone and the exit blocked.

I would be lying if I said I wasn't tired.

Could Zane or Cole get tired?

I mean Cole is a ghost now- but those ghost that served under Morro did eat a lot. I'm not really sure but he hasn't suggested stopping for a break. Zane wouldn't suggest it since he's gears and bolts.

I guess I'm the only one that would require a break.

I will tell them, when I'm ready to stop for a rest. I still have some juice in me to keep walking along. My feet ache but I could take it a little longer. However I am quite hunger.

This exit better-

My hands quickly covered my ears.

A shrill scream boomed through the cave.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

I fell to my knees as the scream intensified practically shaking the cave. The rocks from the ceiling trembled and bits began to fall.

I looked over at the movement that was Cole. The Earth ninja threw the rocks away from our direction and to -what I assumed- was the boy who is working for Velescure. That must've gotten his attention since the screaming stopped automatically.

My ears were still ringing as I looked up at the place Cole, Zane, and the boy were fighting. I quickly ran to join them but stopped in my tracks as the ground once again began to shake. We all looked at the direction the new loud noise was coming from and stared in horror.

The Tiger Widow presented herself by hissing and then running on the walls of the cave towards us.

Quickly, Zane, Cole, and I used our elements to try and scare the widow. Zane used his ice to freeze her but unfortunately, her venom seemed to have melted it. Not only is her venom poisonous but it is extremely hot. Noted.

She quickly regained herself and went after us. Throughout the fight, I failed to notice that the boy seemed to had disappeared. It must have been his plan to lure it here.

The black clad ninja stomped the ground as rocks began to rise, encasing the gigantic spider into a rock like cage. He seemed to struggle against this supernatural spider as Cole said in a strained voice, "I can't hold it for much longer."

The acid venom it possessed already began melting the rock that Cole was using to trap her. He sprung up more rocks to replace them but it was useless. We needed to find a way out of here. Fast.

Zane already started to scan ahead but he shook his head and reported, "There is nothing but another stream a few dozen feet ahead."

"We could lead it there. We can lose it by the water." I suggest, ready to use my powers to wash the Tiger Widow away. I looked over at the ghost and noticed him tense up. His small panic was enough to drain him. He fell to his knees, weak for holding back the spider for so long. "Cole!" I exclaimed and ran to him.

The Tiger Widow managed to escape his trap as she began to run towards me. I was too close to Cole to splash her with my power.

That was when I heard a shrill scream then followed by Zane exclaiming, "Ice!" and the floor beneath me was covered in said element. I managed to reach Cole, slipping a bit, and I helped him to his feet.

The boy's banshee like scream pushed the Widow off balance and away from me until Zane's ice was underneath her and the abnormal widow began to slip and slide.

Our gazes were on the supernatural arachnid as she slipped by us. Her hissing came out panicked as the widow tried to regain her footing. She failed and unfortunately her fall had cause the floor to shake, sending Cole and I sliding uncontrollably down the trail of ice -Zane was now creating.

All of us looked back at the boy as he threw something onto the ice trail. The item sliding down the ice as well.

Zane created bumpers on each side so Cole and I wouldn't go flying off the track and into the jagged walls. The widow was behind us, sliding, and the bumpers also helped her stay on track.

The four of us slid. Zane was in front, creating the trail, and guiding us safely towards the stream. He dodged every rock as Cole and I began to drift away. Somehow I was sliding faster than him. The sound of water becoming louder every second. I could finally spot the stream- wait my mistake, it was another large waterfall.

We were approaching the overhang of the waterfall when Zane quickly created a giant ice rock to stop himself. He quickly took hold of the rock and extended his hand as I slipped by. I managed to grab his hand, the nindroid still holding onto the rock. I was ready to extended my hand to grab Cole's, spotting a bottle zip past by and falling over the waterfall. The ghost outstretched his arm to grab my hand but -the panic state he was in- made his hand go right through mine.

"COLE!" I yelled as I saw him disappear. I quickly lifted my free hand and used all my power and concentration to control the plunge pool below. The widow was about to crash into me when Zane managed to pull himself and me out of the slippery trail and onto hard rock.

From here, I could see the plunge pool below. The water rising up in a hand shape mold to catch Cole. Zane acted quickly to freeze my water hand as the ghost connected with it. I fell on my knees in exhaustion as Zane raced to the edge to get a better look at Cole. I could hear him laugh and imagined him jumping up and down in joy.

I stood up, I was still exhausted but we needed to help Cole back up here so we could continue our search for the exit.

But like he could read my mind, Cole called to us, "Guys ! I found an exit!"

Jay's POV

We continued to run for a little while longer until I couldn't take it anymore. "Nope!" I yelled and then fell on the sand.

I know I gained the concerned gaze- that was Kai- but I didn't care.

I think.

I just-

I JUST FEEL WEIRD!

Everything that just happened was dawning on me. All at once it was crashing into me. My exhaustion, my worries, my fears, my element, my kiss I shared with Kai.

IT WAS A LOT!

AND I JUST NEED A BREAK!

...

So there I was. Lying face down on the sand and grunting now and then to respond to the hotheaded ninja.

"Jay," He moved beside me and placed a hand on my shoulder, "We don't have time. We have to meet up with the rest and then figure out what we are going to do to stop Velescure." He began to shake my shoulder to which I grunted again. I could tell he was tired as well. His voice gave it away.

During our run, we didn't really talk but looked at one and another now and then. I'm glad he didn't bring it up but at the same time, I wish he did. I had so many questions. What did it mean to him? He obviously knows it was me and not Sundance. Did it bother him? Creep him out?

UGH! I just want to know! But I wouldn't DARE bring it up! Maybe it was one of those moments where we forget it ever happened.

We just forget about the kiss and the building I just burnt down.

The thief spoke up -honestly forgot he was here- with an annoyed sigh, "Why don't we just take a break here? It's getting dark and you guys look like shit."

"Thanks." Kai replied curtly.

"Look all I'm saying is that you two look like you need some rest. I'll keep watch." Before Kai could respond I heard footsteps retreating.

I took that moment to look up, Kai and I looking at the fading form that was Ronin. He went to sit down on a large rock. Weird, I thought R.E.X would be parked there.

I hadn't noticed but Kai's hand was still resting on my shoulder until I sat up. This caught his attention as he looked back at me and I expertly avoided his gaze. Man awkwardness just drowned us!

And yet again, I couldn't speak. He had a way of making me stay silent.

But I guess, he didn't catch on. He went from kneeling down on one knee to standing up and looking down at me. His arms were folded across his chest as he cleared his throat, "What's up?"

OH MY SPINJITZU MASTER KAIIIIIIIIIII! Kai ! Kai! K- A- I! Kai.

We were no longer drowning but dying from the embarrassing tension that filled up around us.

'What's up?' What's up, Kai? What is up Kai? Well I don't know- HOW ABOUT THAT KISS FOR STARTERS?!

WHAT ABOUT-

"It wasn't your fault."

... what?

My gaze went to his as the fire ninja continued to speak, "You were just worried about me. You didn't have time to think about what was around you. Jay, it wasn't your fault that building burnt down." He finished and I was left with my mouth hanging open. (DONT THINK OF THIS WEIRDLY! I SWEAR!)

"I-" He honestly was worried and thought that my state of mind was because of the burning building. I mean come to think of it, shouldn't it be? People's lives were at risk and here I am freaking out about a kiss. UGGGHHHHH! And this is where the 'I feel weird' part comes in.

Of course I'm 100 percent worried about those people and I'm praying that everyone, including Sundance, got out safely. But I was so worried about a kiss that I didn't feel that pain or worry. Guess my priorities have changed. Is that bad?

"Also about the ... kiss..." He caught my attention once again. My face blushed badly but does this mean he was thinking about that too and just bought up the building in case I wasn't thinking about it? Like he wanted to start with the kiss but didn't know how or was afraid to start with it? Maybe it was an uncomfortable topic for him and he's about to say to never speak about it again. He's about to reject me or ...

"Sorry about that!" I blurted out without me realizing. The sudden outburst had spooked him. I was now intensely staring at him - maybe to intensely- but I had to for what I was gonna say next. "I fell from the ceiling and fell between you two and kissed you. BY ACCIDENT THAT WAS IT!"

I swear I saw him frown.

His red eyes looked away from mine for a quick second before he said, "Oh." Then he quickly added, "I know. I uh had a feeling. I-I just didn't want it to be awkward between us since we have a mission to focus on." Kai's tone didn't sound too confident. He turned away from me and began to walk but stopped and said, "I'll keep watch on Ronin, just in case he tries to steal the flame or candle. Get some rest."

I didn't say anything else as I watched him go.

I guess I must've fallen asleep because the next thing I knew I was waking up.

I don't believe I was asleep for long. It wasn't dark out yet. Plus I wasn't waking up normally though. I wasn't rested like I hoped but I refused to lie down again. I just had to wake up because I had a bad feeling. Something was bothering me so I sat up and looked at the spot where Ronin and Kai had headed to.

I couldn't see them yet but that could've been because the big rock was in the way. I wanted to call out to introduce myself but that confusing conversation Kai and I had earlier stopped me. As I got closer, I didn't see them though. I raised a brow in confusion and then looked around.

A sense of worry for him began to grow inside me and I looked around again, frantically searching for him- or Ronin!

"Kai? Kai!" I called out his name twice but received no answer and my heart began to beat faster. I started to sprint in one random direction. I think it was random...

Where could he be? They be? They wouldn't leave without telling me or well waking me. Did Kai think I was mad at him or something? Did I upset him? Did they leave me since I was tired? No none of this made sense. Kai wouldn't do that. I know him and he wouldn't just leave me. Even if he was mad with me.

There was this one time, I made him really mad. Like really mad at me. It involved her... so I am not gonna get /that/ into details but he was upset with me. However moments later, when I needed something, he didn't hesitate to help. Something I'll always admire about him, how loyal he is.

So this doesn't sit right. Where could he-

"-be?" I said softly aloud as I saw him. I was about to call his name in relief but he quickly placed a finger over his mouth in a sign to stay quiet. His other hand lifted and rested in a stopping motion. I immediately did and didn't stop looking at him as he approached me.

Our bodies close as he whispered, "Stay quiet." His almond hand took hold of mine as he lead me away.

I looked back at where he was but a fog had built up obscuring my view. Where did that come from? What had Kai seen? Was there something or someone there?

I was snapped out of my thoughts when I felt a firm hand land on my cheek and pull my face to look at him. He was closer to me now. Our noses practically touching.

Wait when was I leaning against some rocks?

THATS WHAT MY MIND WANDERS TO? I guess I was kinda pinned between the rocks and Kai. WAIT HOLD ON!

WTU! OMSM! WHY IS HE SO CLOSE TO ME? I was so focused on a mysterious danger that I failed to noticed how Kai and I were! Said fire ninja was very close to me and I'm pretty sure he knows!

I don't think we are hiding from some serious danger...

My cheeks heat up and glow a brighter red than I ever seen before as I finally look up into his stare. He had a smirk on his face as he looked down at me.

WHAT IS GOING ON? Was this- was this because of that kiss?!

No! I told him it was an accident! Even though, I would've. I would've loved too- BUT no it was an accident. But then he looked so disappointed and upset when I did tell him. But now and how close we are? Can he tell I was lying? WAIT WAS I LYING!?

Kai got my attention once again as he started to move, his movements decreasing the small gap we had.

HE LIKES ME?!

I started to move forward too but I couldn't look at him. I don't know why but I looked down.

Immediately, I pushed him away. She fell and landed on the ground. The red eyes looking at me filled with confusion and shock.

"Where is he!" I yelled at "Kai" and held the satchel in my hands. When she fallen, I had the chance to swoop it above their head and take it back. She smirked once again, his lips becoming her bright blue ones that still stung my eyes.

"He went over a cliff. Rejection hurts! I'm guessing you rejected him or I would've gotten that smooch!" She obnoxiously said in a playful tone. Her costume was gone and on the floor in front of me was the red headed girl in silver.

I guess all her illusions and hallucinations had ended with that fall. Our scenery had changed, not much, but a few feet from us was a loud waterfall. We were at the Spirit Coves, where our dragons became the Ultra Dragon. The place was barren and rocks surrounded most of it. The sounds of water easily took over the empty land.

"Admit it, I was pretty good wasn't I? But I haven't gotten Kai's character quite yet." She said as I closed my hands into fists, lightning engulfing them. She chuckles, "But Ronin! I fooled you both!"

I was about to charge at her but she stopped me with a quick, "Hold on there!" I halted in confusion as she snapped and the loud rushing water sounds stopped. They were replaced with cries of help.

His cries of help.

"Kai!" I yelled and immediately ran to the edge of the cliff where the waterfall fell eerily silent. My eyes were wide when I caught sight of him, his hands tied together in vengestone chains, and his form hanging on a loose branch. "Kai! Hold on, I'm coming to help you!"

He couldn't hear me as the waterfall resumed to splash loudly. I was about to form my dragon when lightning flashed before my eyes. I fell back on my behind as I looked back at her. She was laughing and shook her pointer finger side-to-side. "Nuh huh huh. Stop right there Loverboy. If you want to save your boyfriend, hand me that satchel wontcha?"

Her silver gaze traveled to said item around my body as I unconsciously held it tighter. I got up quickly and glanced over the side of the cliff where Kai was. He was trying to break his bonds or maybe summon his element but he was certainly not focused and freaking out.

Or was he?

A unbelievable realization came to me. Was that even Kai? What if it was just another illusion?

She was Kai earlier. She could easily make him again and then it turns out the Kai, I know and love, is safely somewhere else and looking for me. Maybe he was also with Ronin and she just came in to play with my mind. And my feelings.

She has me trapped in some kind of illusion or hallucination.

BUT I WASN'T SURE.

And that terrified me.

If- IF I was wrong, Kai's life would be at stake. And I will never let that happen. Illusion or not, he was in danger and if I didn't do something quick, Kai would be sent to plummet down to the waters below.

Kai would drown.

"Okay." I said, my tone defeated but with a sense of urgency. I quickly took the satchel off my body and threw it to her. The Vela De Deseos and Varian's Flame were now in her grasp and she jumped gleefully. I looked over the side once again as she snapped and the branch holding Kai began to shrivel.

Kai's panicked red eyes finally met my yellow horrified gaze as his body slowly began to fall down towards the rushing water. My eyes filled up with tears and I yelled, "NOOOOOOOOO! KAI!" And I jumped off the cliff to him.

Well I cried writing this...

kinda. heard a sad song.

The "NOOOOOOOO! KAI!" Can be heard in the season Skybound episode Misfortune Raising.
