"Question Two," Jane's voice a soft whisper in the quiet night, an appetite sated and a whole other awakened. "Would you like to be famous? In what way?" Her fingers absent-mindedly twirl themselves around Maura's curls.
Maura wraps her arms tighter around Jane's lean figure. A cuddle. She's never had, such an experience. She pondered the question. Fingers tracing circles along Jane's bare shoulder.
Jane presses a kiss to Maura's forehead, comfortable in the silence. Watching the candles flicker, with her partner in her arms. She's safe here, she presses another kiss, with her.
"I would not enjoy fame I think, and I haven't enjoyed infamy," Maura's answer, quiet.
Jane tensed and silently called herself an idiot. "I'm sor-"
Maura chuckled, "Don't be." She reached not too far to interlock Jane's hands with hers. "It's nice, to be asked questions. To want to be known," she rested herself back into Jane's embrace, "As my own person."
Jane's smile meets Maura's. Lips tender from earlier exertions and yet no less incredible. "I'll never tire of knowing about you," her lips meet again Maura's, "or of kissing you," Jane's smile, coy but inside, confident. "And I want everything to do with you."
Her eyes meet hers.
"And I," Maura brings Jane's palm to her lips, "You." She plants a kiss and leaves it safe – with her Jane.
She's safe here, she holds her closer, with her.
A/N: And there we go folks, 234 words of an update – super super short fluff but, an update nonetheless. In real life, lots of changes – new emotions, new life lessons, and new experiences. It is quite a something isn't it, to tell someone: I want nothing to do with you. / I'm not at all an emotionally mature adult in real life but I am learning – via typing rizzles at times. Fessing to my sins, working on turning kinder my mean. Thank you for the time and stay safe during and or outside of quarantine!
