Howls in the night, I'm up on my feet. My room covered in darkness, I fish out my torch. With a clink, sparks fly. Flames erupt, I'm out the door before they can grow. Starlight coming down from the heavens, the rest of the camp is fast asleep. I raise my torch, trying to see past the shadows. Dark silhouettes move through the undergrowth, encircling us. I raise my voice, shouting as loud as I can. "Allosaurs, they're here!" Fires ignite, fellow tribe mates rush out of their thatch and wood homes. Voices raise, the main bonfires are lit. They move in groups, charging in. The large predators run between homes, attacking in a wave. Arrows zip through the cold air, blades and spears raised. I grab my pike resting in the doorway, running down my wooden ramp. An Allosaurus snaps up a tribe mate, ripping him to pieces. I run between the snapping jaws and slashing claws, stabbing at the weak points in their joints. It collapses, roaring in fury. Two tribe mates are on its back almost instantly, stabbing into its neck. Blood drips, it goes still. Another Allo, charging into the group.

The two species clash, the predatory dinos with their size and teeth, the humans with their weapons and explosions. Flares blast into the sky, partly blinding the nocturnal creatures. Arrows stick into their sides, layer metallic traps catch their legs. We are bitten in half, stomped on, slashed across the torso and appendages. Fires are disturbed, houses burn like torches. An allo squares up to me, growling. I flip my pike from hand to hand, standing my ground. Its green and brown colors glinting in the firelight, shiny teeth the shape of daggers line it's mouth. "Come on, you ugly lizard." It roars, charging me. I shove my fingers into my mouth, letting out a high pitched whistle. The ground thumps, a bulging roar emits from behind me. Triton rumbles past, his long horns facing the charging predator. The allo is taken by surprise, the trike gores it in the chest. It wails, I run in. With consecutive stabs, it's downed, Triton yanks it's horns out.

Another allo, ramming into Tritons side. I run to help my tame, shouting angrily. Pet dinos come rushing out of the darkness, adding to our numbers. But the Allosaurus are persistent, they never stop coming. The camp thrown into chaos, forces on both sides falling. We fight for our lives, well into the morning.

I lay low, a newly fashioned spear resting in my hands. A sharpened bone fashioned onto a rod. Wrapped with fiber. Athena crouched next to me, her black and red scales are a stark contrast to my new clothes. Knit of leather, with ropes stitching the pieces together. Most claws get caught in the thick hide, and blunt forces are slightly suppressed. But I'm more happy that I don't need to have a fire every night. The jungle has long since fallen away, the terrain has become increasingly rocky, mountains that were distant before tower above. We've passed through swamps, I've never such large snakes. Massive birds caw from above, they take advantage of any corpse. And once again, I'm in search of food. Our targets move cautiously ahead, two ladle headed beasts, trying to keep their long heads low as they pass between different shaped boulders.

Athena shuffles impatiently, letting out a low cackle. "I know, just give it a second." I begun crawling to get behind a sloped boulder, our prey just on the other side. Athena follows me, her slit eyes watching closely. I get to the top of the boulder, peeking over the other side. A straight shot to the ladled beasts' backs, I slowly put my fingers in my mouth. Athena watches me take in a deep breath, she hunkers down, preparing to jump. With a rush of air, my whistle is quick and sharp. The ladle headed beasts rear their heads up, started by the noise. They look up, spotting a black and red raptor falling down from above. Athena lands on the beast to the left, sinking its sickle shaped talons into its neck. With a flurry of movement, her teeth shred at its flesh. The other beasts lets out a picnicked call, turning to run.

I leap, feeling air howl in my ears. Spear point aimed down, pointed at its vitals. I land, my boot covered feet landing on the rocky ground. My spear finds its mark, stabbing through the beast's chest. It lets out a wail of pain, but my attack didn't slow it down. I change hands quickly, whipping out a triple rock bola, swinging it over my head. With a rev up, I throw, watching the primitive contraption spin through the air. It wraps around the beast's legs, wrapping around Collapses, it's momentum driving itself into the ground. With a flip through the air, a sharpened hatchet in my hands. I run over to the downed beast, winding up a swing. I hack at its head, splitting into its neck. It struggles to free itself, and kick me off. But it's movements slow, until it's still. Athena finishes off her target, letting out a cackling hiss. I step back, wiping sweat off my forehead. The sudden rush of adrenaline runs its course, my heartbeat slows down. With a squelching pop, I yank my spear out of its side, the bola is torn. I look over, Athena watching me. "Well." I stash my hatchet on my side, switching it to my pick. "I guess we set up camp."

After skinning and gutting, I chip chunks off the beast, not worrying about the smell. My arms stained red, campfire crackling behind me. Athena digs into her kill, eating in a less proper manner. Laying the flattest stone I could find over the fire, before placing choice cuts atop. They begin to sizzle, I use my pick to turn them around. The taste is better than any bird could ever compare. With some blue berries, and a swig of water from my pouch finishes my hunger and thirst. Hide drying by the fire, I take a moment to look at the whole scene. I itch my implant, thinking. "You know." Athena looks up, more red scales than black on its face. "This is all starting to get hard to carry, we could be in trouble soon." From this high up on the mountainside, I can see the other two pillars. The green one I met Athena is getting farther every day, a red one to the right. While I was passing through the swamps, I got a glance of a blue pillar, from the looks of it, it resides in a frozen part of the Island. But despite the distance I've travelled, I have not Clem across any other people, at this point I'll be okay with anything that can talk, Athena is a help but she has a relatively one track mind. Rolling out my sleeping bag, slipping in. "You should get some sleep, we have a long hike tomorrow. Athena doesn't take notice, bitting on her kill's leg. "Well, I warned you." The light slowly dims in the sky, stars begin to show.

Distant roaring, waking me up. I lay in my bag for a bit, watching the stars above with irritation in my eyes. Oh what now. The noises sound pretty far off, I debate going back to sleep. Athena gets up as always. She sniffs the air, hissing. My eyelids close slowly, I yawn. "Go back to sleep, whatever it is, it's not our problem." But Athena hunkers down, I can hear her talons click on the rocky floor as she starts sneaking away. With a rush of frustration, I get out of my bag, grabbing my spear laying next to me. I follow black and red scales, taking this way too casually. "Why are you sneaking?" But my casual attitude gets ripped away, voices shout. They come with the smell of smoke, the roaring comes back again.

My interest peaked, I get up alongside Athena. We both move to the other side of the mountains. We pass by some club tailed beasts, they give threatening poses. We don't pay attention, they go back to their grazing. My eyes peer out from the mountainside, Athena next to me. I spot it almost instantly. Fires glowing in the forest below, large pillars of smoke rise into the night sky. I would take it for a wildfire, but crested headed creatures run through the flames, attacking something. More shouts, a shiver runs down my survivors.

I'm running down the mountainside before I take my options, trying my best not to trip on anything in the dark. I whistle, soon talons clicks follow my footsteps. I weave between boulders, past isolated trees and small red bushes. I whip around a rather shiny boulder, scaring a ladle headed beast half to death. But I ignore it, making it to the tree line into the jungle.

I stutter to a stop, waiting to catch my breath. Athena is only a few seconds behind, she doesn't need a break. The noises are closer now, and I'm starting to the hear flames rift through the air. I sit down in the jungle, waiting. While I'm eager to see another person fro the first time, I keep my feet planted. I'm not running into the middle of battle. Athena tries getting closer, I make sure she stays nearby. The crested headed beasts aren't the nicest things, they always move around in groups. Plus they are big, and fast. Athena and I ran into some a while ago, we were able to kill one. But one of the other two had a strange odor to it, and I almost got my head bitten off. But luckily we were saved by a rather massive creature. I want to nickname it big headed creature, but when it roared, I felt like it would be better to lay down and surrender. But the loud creature wasn't interested in Athena and I, it's attention was on the crested creatures. I recall running, hearing noises of roaring behind me. Before I was out of earshot, I heard the crested creatures wailing, before they were silenced.

Athena growls, her eyes locked on something moving through the jungle. I jump up, spear raised. A loud bugle, a horned beast comes crashing through the trees. I get out of the way, confused. The beast has wounds and gashes, it's looks heavily injured. Ropes and leather pads on its back, linking to a log in its mouth. And on top, another survivor. He keeps taking glances back, a metal spear in his hand. A roar tears through the jungle, a crested creature sprints through the horned beast's treaded path. The beast turns around, the survivor, holding up his spear. The crested creature almost runs into a wall of horns, but it snaps on the beast's frilled skull, ripping violently. The man stabs at its head, but it's crests get in the way of his spear tip. I throw my surprise away, whistling in a high and quick pitch.

Athena pounces out of the bushes, her hooked talons stab into the crested creature's leg. She begins climbing, ripping up the creature's leg as she goes. The crested creature lessens its grip on the horned beast, roaring in pain, trying to find the source of its discomfort. I aim, arcs my arm. My spear whistles through the air, aimed at its head. The tip misses the eye, but stabs into the weak skin next to it. The crested creature reads its head, roaring into the air. Athena running across its back, jumping onto the side of its head. It shakes violently, trying to throw the pest off. Athena bites my spear, taking it out. She drops it, I run over smiling. Clever girl. I pick up my weapon, running to the creature's underbelly. I stab at the points joining the legs to the chest, Athena bites and slashes it's face. It throws Athena off, but she up and coming back quickly.

It tries snapping her in half, but she dodges its attacks. The other survivor watches, his beast breathing heavily. The crested creature tries backing up, but I stay underneath him. I don't know enough about the anatomy of animals on this island, save it for some of the beasts. But I take my shot, trying to stab at where I guess the heart is. It's almost out of my reach, but the spear tip gets something. The crested creature wails, bending in on itself. Athena jumps, ramming into its side. It trips on its feet, the tendons in its legs severed. It falls, taking a tree down with it. It lands with a crash, throwing dust everywhere. I walk over, finding my spear snapped. Dang it.

I sit back into my saddle in relief, my trike, would not have survived that. The pack leader Allo goes still, its odor slips away. "Thank you." Sunlight slowly begins to filter into the sky, morning. I get a good look at my savior, I scrunch my face. She wanders toward the fallen Allo, let out a noise of she didn't even hear me. But I don't recognize her, and her raptor doesn't look familiar either. It watches him, rather intimidating combinations of red and black scales cover its body. "Uh, what tribe are you from?" The noises coming from the camp die down, ending with the cheers of fellow survivors. The new survivor turns over, taking sudden interest in me. She itches the implant in her wrist, thinking. "Are you human?" The words come slowly, I watch with suspicion. "What type of question is that." I hop off my trike, feeding him berries. I rub his head, silently thanking him as well. The survivor sounds disappointed. "Well, do have anything to say?" I turn around, keeping my spear in hand. She doesn't look hostile, but I've met random survivors before, I later found one of them trying to slit my throat in the night, the others openly attacked my camp. "What do want me to say, thank you again?" The survivor looks frustrated, she kicks a loose stone on the jungle floor. "So that's all there is, months without seeing anyone, and the first fellow survivor I come across doesn't even care!" I stumble on the word."How long have you been on this Island, why are you still wearing leather clothes?"

The survivor crosses her arms. "You tell me." I poke the bottom of my pike into the ground, armor of bug shells cover my body. "Well I woke up on the eastern beach, I've been here for five weeks." The survivor throws out on hand, showing four fingers. "Four months, I have no idea what beach I awoke on." I shake my head. "I don't believe you, the survivor that's been here the longest is Meredith, she woke up two months ago." I aim my spear, pointing at her. Her raptor hisses, it's claws twitching. The survivor only scoffs at my threat, but I keep it pointed. "Let me guess, you're a spy." The survivor looks confused, I don't buy it for a bit. "Wait, you have enemies, I thought everyone was working together." My turn to scoff. "Wouldn't that be nice." The survivor rubs her raptor, calming it down. I wait for an attack, Triton is still injured, now would be the best time. But the survivor turns, walking away. "Well, I guess my hopes were a little high, bye."

My pike lowers, I frown. "Wait, where are you going?" The survivor waves, her raptor follows. She gives the dead Allo a kick, before walking past it. "Leaving, I think I'm better off living alone."
