Disclaimer: I own nothing except for my OC Adaline and any alterations to the original storyline plot her presence creates to various readers amusement everywhere across the globe during these dark and grim days.

Fatal Attraction Prologue

Adaline Marie Sanderson was born 12:01 AM, January 1st, 1935 at Children's Hospital, in New York City.

The only child of Faye and Milton Sanderson. A very beloved and cherished little girl that they never wanted to let go of ever.

On June 16th, 1950, just as Adaline and her parents stopped to admire the Statue of Liberty a random thief attacked the family of three out of the blue without any warning. He kills Milton and Faye soon after her husband collapses onto the earth.

Here is where Adaline's dormant power manifests for the first time.

Consumed by grief and anger Adaline temporarily loses control of her senses. Her wavy brown hair turns white as she screams her sorrow, agony, and fury all in one go. In a flash, the assailant was consumed by sheer ice that takes him over entirely. His body shatters into hundreds of ice fragments as he falls backward onto the ground. Nothing recognizable remains of the perpetrator.

The massive expanse of energy from this single act of rage causes Adaline to lose consciousness. The last thing Adaline sees is the stunned and fearful faces of those who witnessed the tragedy on both sides. When Adaline wakes up again she finds herself inside a hospital to recover from her heinous ordeal. There it hits Adaline what has happened to her leaving her in terrible shock over everything.

What doesn't help matters is that an organization is known as the Bureau of Normalcy, that hunts, experiments, and destroys absolutely anything they deem to be abnormal and unworthy in this world, comes for her during her containment in the hospital. Scared to death about what her fate would be at their hands Adaline makes her escape during a rare lapse in judgment from the agents meant to both guards and transport her.

Afterward Adaline finds herself constantly on the run. Never staying anywhere more than a year before she is on the move again, careful not to make any sort of attachments or connections to anywhere wherever she chooses to settle. There is more than one reason for this. Her new powers over ice and snow have proven to be, though lovely, dangerous, and at times erratic. The last thing she wants is to hurt anyone so she keeps them a secret as she fights hard in the daily challenge in order to prevent another outburst similar to what occurred that dreadful evening.

For a while, this appears to work until another incident occurs that alters everything once more.

In the winter of 1955 as she was moving to a new city during a thunderstorm Adaline was accidentally run off the road and into a neighboring pond where the car she was driving tumbled into.

The immersion in the frigid water caused Adaline's body to go into an anoxic reflex, instantly stopping her breathing and slowing her heartbeat. Within 2 minutes Adaline Sanderson's core temperature had dropped to 87 degrees. Her heart stopped beating. At 8:55 a bolt of lightning struck the vehicle discharging half a billion volts of electricity and producing 60,000 amperes of current. Its effect was threefold. First, the charge defibrillated Adaline's heart. Second, she was jolted out of her anoxic state, causing her to draw her first breath in 2 minutes. Third, based on Von Lehman's Principle of Electron Compression, in deoxyribonucleic acid, which will be discovered in the year 2035, Adaline Sanderson will henceforth be immune to the ravages of time among her own powers. She will never age another day.

As the years passed, on the run from the Bureau of Normalcy, Adaline credits her unchanging appearance to a combination of a healthy diet, exercise, hereditary, and good luck. But despite all this suspicion towards her condition start to increase until it slowly transforms into worry and concern. Seeking answers to her underlying condition Adaline took a clerical job at a school of medicine. There she availed herself of every opportunity to research her condition. After a year of intense study, Adaline is forced to confront the fact that there was completely no scientific explanation for her condition.

Action was required to be taken just weeks later, when living in a quiet neighborhood, Adaline was pulled over for a minor traffic infraction. The officer that took her information notices that with it being the year 1970, she should be 40 years old, and yet she hardly appears older than a teenager or barely into her twenties. The officer holds onto her driver's permit and tells her to bring her birth certificate over to the station the following day for proper clarification. As a result of this encounter Adaline flees the county that night. Once again on the run for her very life and freedom.

Unfortunately, this gets the government back onto her scent. Having spies in police departments everywhere to keep an eye out for these sorts of guys are relentless in their pursuit. Never giving her any of a moment's peace. They are deadset on snuffing out anything unusual that they fully believe doesn't belong.

Yes, this got the Bureau of Normalcy's Attention back on her trail, but, also, someone else's.

That is Niles Caulder.

In 1975 Niles Caulder tracks her down where she is secluding herself from the rest of the world.

Wishing to help Adaline in her situation, and to prevent the Bureau from capturing her, Niles Caulder intercepts her where she is hiding herself away deep in the Minnesota wilderness. After somehow convincing Adaline to leave her isolation she travels with him back to Doom Manor. A supposed safe haven for those like her.

Before Adaline simply assumed that she was alone.

But here in Doom Manor, she'll find that's far from the truth and maybe someone that'll fill a void in her life Adaline never was aware actually existed.

Until now.

Authors Note:

At last! At long last! The 100th story is finally created! Ah! I'm so happy and proud with myself. The goal has been reached, but that doesn't mean I'm not opened to continuing to receive other story suggestions in the future. I'll always be open to them. Feel free to let me know what they are and if they click then I'll get right to it. Glad to have and am thankful for all your support.

I hope you all like this one! I certainly did while writing it for your vast enjoyment! ;D

I've recently thought of this one while watching the new Doom Patrol Series. At first I didn't know what to think of the show, but not I've found that I really love it. Especially one character in particular and I'll give you three guesses on who. Also, just so you're all aware, I know in the show that Larry is gay. For myself I have absolutely no problem with gay or lesbians even though I'm not one myself, but the moment I saw the show I just instantly thought of this pairing. It just would've leave me alone.

Right now during this epidemic with the coronavirus that's impacting every nation in the entire world we really do need find whatever sources we possibly can in order to lighten our spirits. Especially those who are unfortunately stuck sick or those locked in self isolation in order to prevent both contraction and spread of the illness. For those of us who have the abilities to do this we have a duty to keep up morale and that's exactly what I wholeheartedly desire these new stories and updates concocted during this time do for you.

As many of you are already aware I was a patron at New York Comic Con 2019. It really is so exciting there and was an opportunity of a lifetime so there's no way in hell that I was going to waste a single second of it. No one ever should with something like this. Ever! ;D Unfortunately New York Comic Con 2020 was canceled because of the coronavirus so no one really got to enjoy any of the potential festivities this year in the chaos.

For future preferences I highly recommend that you all keep an eye out for when tickets for New York Comic Con are available for purchase again for next year. This is a huge event and you should jump on it whenever you have the chance. Unfortunately this year it appears like Comic Con might be skipped not just in New York, but also in all it's regular places during the course of scheduled events. I think we all know the reason for it is plain as day.

The coronavirus.

Can't exactly blame with how dreadful things are getting in escalation and the fact that places like the Javits Center in New York have been temporarily converted into makeshift hospitals in order to deal with the overflow of people contracting infections from this rapidly spreading virus that might as well be called a plague at this point. Let's keep fingers crossed that an aim is to have this pass us before then so things can get back on track. If it is then New York Comic Con might be exactly what people need in order to lighten their spirits after all this darkness. Stay safe everyone and long to eventually see you there.
