Chapter Thirteen:

Helping Alaric run Mystique came surprisingly easily. Jenna offered to help show me the ropes, when 'Ric wasn't available. Sure, The Grill was different than the club, but the basics for running it were the same. After a few weeks, I felt comfortable. I did hire 2 more bouncers for the nights that 'Ric wouldn't be around. It made me and the girls feel safer.

Elijah stayed true to his word and supported me in my endeavors. Things were getting progressively more serious between us. He didn't mind the stigma that came with my job. I was taking a break from school for the semester, while I got used to everything. But I didn't have long left, until I got my degree.

Caroline broke up with Matt and started dating Klaus. They were becoming close fast, much like I had with his brother. I'd be lying if I said that I hadn't seen it coming. I love Matt like a brother, but ultimately, he didn't seem like the right fit for Care. She seems happier than I've seen her in ages. We both do. It's a welcome change.

"Bonnie, can I talk with you?" Elijah asked me. I looked up and nodded. "I don't need an answer right away, but would you consider living together?" I asked me. My jaw dropped. I had a feeling that this would happen eventually, but I didn't think that he would ask me so soon. "Caroline was thinking about getting her own place and I would move into your place, if you were open to it." He explained. He's right. Caroline had talked about getting a new place, but I didn't even consider getting another roommate.

"I - you really want to live with me?" I questioned, softly. He nodded and wrapped his arms around me in a gentle embrace.

"More than anything," he replied. I nodded.

"Yes, only after Caroline is ready to find a new place." I told him. The grin he gave me had the butterflies in my stomach going on overdrive. "You're kinda perfect. You know that?"

"No, but I'm grateful you believe I am perfect for you."
