Earth 65
After they changed, Gwen took Miles to a place called Mike and Busters.
"What is this place?" asked Miles, obviously astonished by the size of the building.
Gwen laughed at his expression before replying, "It's pretty much an arcade with a buffet. I have 2 cards that have unlimited use so we won't have to worry about paying for anything. We can play and eat whatever we want."
"Cool let's go." Miles said with an excited look on his face.
Gen looked at Miles' face and laughed. "He's so cute when he's excited." she thought. "Agh! Snap out of it Gwen! We're just friends!"
"Gwen you coming?" Miles asked her as he was already at the door.
"Yeah! Wait up!"
"No promises!" Miles shouted as he ran into the building. Gwen joined him as be was already getting ready to start a racing game. "You don't have a chance against me, Gwanda." Miles said to Gwen with a challenging smile.
"Let's see about that, Spider boy." Gwen said, accepting the challenge. For most of the race Miles was in the lead with Gwen right behind him but right before Miles crossed the finish line, Gwen was able to crash into Miles, slowing him down, and was able to beat him.
"No fair. You used foul play." Miles pouted.
"You literally did the same thing when the race started."
"Point taken." Miles said defeated.
"Anyways let's do that game. It's one of my favorites."
"Sure. I'll beat you this time though." Miles said with the same challenging smile. The two began to play all the games in the arcade, both accepting the bet that whoever loses the most has to pay for the next thing they may buy. They were on to their last game, both tied. And to Gwen's demise it was the one game she was terrible at. Skeeball. And when she didn't think it could get worst, Miles suddenly said that he loved this game. Oh great. There goes my money. However, to her surprise, she was doing well. She matched each of Miles' throws. But then on the last one he made a 5000.
"Let's goooooo! 5000! You have to get a 10,000 in order to win!"
10,000. The hardest one to get. Well hopefully this object I'll have to buy is cheap. She aimed for the 10,000 hole and threw. Ugh too much force. It hit the glass and suddenly fell right into the hole. The 10,000 one! "Ha! Now you have to pay!"
"Aw come on. You got lucky."
"Still, I won." Gwen said as she giggled at Miles' pouting. He's so cute when he pouts. Earlier in the day she decided that she did indeed have a crush on Miles but won't tell him since she didn't think that he thought the same. She suddenly was snapped out of her thoughts when Miles started speaking again.
"Whatever. Can I just buy burgers for us?"
Gen decided to let him hanging for a while before agreeing. "Fine. But you have to buy me a milkshake instead of a soda." Gen said happily before leaving the arcade with a big grin
"Those better be cheap." Miles said before following her. Gwen then decided to go to the park to relax and get a chance to talk to Miles more.
"Cmon let's go to the subways."
"Why?"
"So we can go to the park and chill."
"Cool! I'm coming." They got on the subway and sat next to each other. There was an awkward silence before Miles decoded to break it. "I see you kept your hair style."
"Yeah, it isn't too bad. I kinda like it more than my previous one."
"So do I get a thank you then?"
"For what? Pulling off my hair? No."
"OK point taken. But do I at least get to like it?"
"I suppose." Gwen said grinning. Another awkward silence. Gwen decided to go on her phone. Little did she know, Miles was staring at her with the corner of his eyes. She's beautiful. He thought. He thought back to Ganke messing around with him for accidently calling Gwen his "girlfriend". It obviously wasn't true. He was just thinking about if she was. He decided he did have a crush on her but was too afraid to admit it, thinking that she didn't feel the same. Hot thoughts were suddenly cut short when he heard a sob. At first he thought it was someone else but then he heard another. It was Gwen. He was confused at first but realized it probably had something to do with her phone. He looked at it and saw a picture of her, her mom, her dad, and her dimension's version of Peter.
"Hey what's wrong, Gwen." she looked at him with red and tear stained eyes before hugging him. Tightly. Miles didn't expect this happening but quickly hugged her back. Then she quickly pulled away and blushed.
"Sorry."
"It's fine. What's bothering you though?"
"Well as you know the Peter from this dimension is dead. My mom died a whole ago. And my dad got hurt badly and has been in a coma for a while now. So just seeing that picture just made me remember all of them and how I may never see any of them ever again."
"Oh. I'm so sorry."
Thanks Miles. Also I hugged you because you're the person I'm closest to now and right now I just need someone to talk to and be with."
"Well, of you ever need someone to talk to, you always have me."
"Thanks Miles. You have no idea how much that means to me."
"No problem. We are friends anyways right?."
Gwen smiled before answering, "Yeah, of course." The two were smiling at each other before the speaker anounced their stop. "Oh! That's our stop. Cmon let's go." Miles followed her as they arrived at the park.
"Wow, it's beautiful." not as beautiful as you though.
"I know right? I love coming here." They found a shade with lots of shade before talking about their adventures as spider people.
"So the thug began to attack me so I turned invisible and venom shocked him. After I did the shock did something to him and he began to do some weird dance." Miles said laughing as he got up to try to demonstrate. Gwen laughed as Miles began to do the weirdest dance she ever saw. Miles sat back down and continued talking to her before they both realized the sun was already down. "Shoot we better go."
"Yeah but let's go get something to eat. I haven't had something to eat for a while. Also you gotta pay." Miles groaned as they made their way to the burger spot. As promised Miles got two burger meals with a milkshake for Gwen. They decided to eat at the building as they both were too tired to swing again.
"Mmmmm. This tastes amazing."
"Yeah I gotta admit. This does taste good. Way better than my dimension's version of this place."
"You know what this milkshake tastes like?" Gwen asked as she sucked into the straw of the milkshake.
"What?"
"Victory."
"Shut up." Miles said as he put his pouted face on. Gwen began to laugh at this until she couldn't breath anymore. They finished their meals and walked around the park talking like usual. This is nice. Hanging out with a friend like normal people. Not like spider people. Miles thought as Gwen giggled at a joke he just made. And hanging out with a crush. Speaking of which, should I tell her? I may not have another chance like this again. But Miles couldn't find the courage to do so and kept silent. The two walked in silence before Miles checked the time on his phone. 9:30. Shoot! How did the time go by so quickly? "Gwen?"
"Hmm?"
"I have to go it's getting late."
"Oh, ok." Gwen said, clearly disappointed. "I'll see you some other time then."
"You could visit my dimension tomorrow. My parents aren't in town so I won't have to worry about them."
"OK, we'll do that then." Gwen said as they walked into an alley so people won't see Miles open a portal.
"See you tomorrow, Gwanda." Gwen quickly hugged him which Miles did not expect.
"See you spider boy." She said smirking. Moles was speechless before Gwen finally spoke. "Don't get any ideas Miles. Get going now."
"OK ok I'm going bye."
"Bye."
Miles opened the portal and stepped through it. Then the portal closed as Gwen walked away and went home. Why did I hug him and why did I tell him to not have any ideas? I could've told him right then about my feelings for him. She thought. She got to her house and went in and went straight to her bed. Oh well I can tell him tomorrow. She thought. Then she decided that she should go to bed now.
Earth 1610
Miles was lying on his bed as he thought about his day. His roommate was asleep so he didn't have to answer any of his questions about Gwen. Why did she hug me? Does she have the same feelings as I do to her? Probably not. Probably just a goodbye hug or something. Although he did want to know if she liked him the same as he did to her. Will she say yes? Could we really be a couple? Ugh too many thoughts. I'll just ask her tomorrow. I won't worry about it right now. Miles thought as he got ready for bed.
