Chapter 14th
When they had arrived back to the F.B.I. building . Assistant Director Walter Skinner was waiting for Mulder and Scully to arrive for the briefing. The director wanted a full detail report on the aliens they had made contact with for the most part.
Coming off the elevator with William intow to discuss the first chance meeting with Loki and his plea. Along with the parents and daughter being involved before being released.
Scully was holding onto her son's hand with everyone staring at them like always. Williams murmurs in her ear that everything is fine so to relax at best.
Even Mulder was relaxed finally finally for the first time in many years heading for Skinner's office waiting. Opening the door to his secretary Alissa looking up from the computer terminal.
William knew was turning out for all involved without his powers now gone. "A.D. Skinner is waiting in his office. I will let him know you're here for the briefing." She stated with picking up the phone.
After a brief moment the three of them walked into the office to be seated. Skinner went to shake Williams's hand as with Mulder.
"Okay let's get started. Tell me William on how you were able to make contact with Loki and his people?" Skinner had to say with the secretary recording the entire briefing.
"I was running for those after me for my powers. Somehow I have found myself into the back yard of the house. I felt the pull of the forcefield when I had enter into the communications bay still trying to understand what was going on with myself."
"What did you do next Wiliam?" Skinner asked with watching for his parents reaction.
"I waited knowing that there was someone was watching me. Until later when Loki greeted me with his offer as with his other members of this spacecraft. They had been collecting certain alien races to so to speak seeding them on other planets. And they are looking to seed these races along with themselves with their race and planet dying."
"What did you think of this William?" Skinner taking a sip of his black coffee...
"I knew with my powers that I had delivered over the years that Loki was telling the truth and why I came to my father to speak with General Wilcox at the observatory. He was able to come up with the cloud seeding and formulas to try and stop the radiation with those affected."
"In your opinion do you think it's going to work?"
"It all depends on Loki's science people on how to process all of the information. Loki is supposed to arrive back to Earth soon to let us know on whether it worked or not. Otherwise there was another option and I am afraid all of the governments on Earth are not going to like the idea of having Loki's people coming to Earth to live."
"That may be true William. However I need to talk with the director and see what he thinks on the idea. I am just glad all of you and including Monica and John Doggett are hurt due to type of transportation into the space craft?" Skinner needed to say on the subject of hand with him having felt the pull of the transportation.
"What do we do now A.D. Skinner?" Scully needed to say with feeling the baby inside her stomach active and William went to touch her stomach to surprise her. For a moment she and Mulder had thought for the moment that William had his powers back.
"We wait for Loki and his people to show up again in a few weeks. Otherwise there is nothing else to do accept continue to work with letting the president of the United States about Loki's people. He has a very opened mind." Skinner replied with his statement.
"And in the meantime what do want us to do sir with our work?" Mulder said with asking Skinner knowing how he works.
"Nothing right now. Since William is here with the both of you. I suggest that all three of you take time off from the X FIles and come back in a week with pay Mulder and Scully. I will be sure to put into the paperwork with the proper department. While John and his wife Monica will continue on with their work. All three of you now get out of here to relax and enjoy the time with your son. William are you still planning on leaving?"
"Sir I don't know what I am going to be doing now that my powers are gone." The three of them had gotten out of their seats to head out into the corridor with Scully asking how her son William knew that the fetus was in distress.
"I didn't mother. I just felt that I wanted to touch your stomach to see if I was able to feel the fetus. No other reasons accept that mother and father." He replied with walking towards the elevator to head on home.
When they arrived at Mulder's house. Scully offered to make Turkey Club sandwiches for all of them. While William and Mulder went to sit outside to enjoy the fresh air while she went to work.
William was staring out into space for a moment. When his father Fox Mulder asked what was wrong.
"Dad, I am just finally feel free now now that my powers are gone. I know mother is worried that I have them back when I don't nor the issue of leaving again to disappear. I will have to think about it further on where to go when I do finally decide. However right now I wish to be here with you and mother."
"I certainly know your problem William. I would love for you to stay as with Scully. However I don't wish to hold you back either with your search for the truth. As with Loki's own race or whether they will survive the cloud seeding or the vaccines to stop the radiation." Mulder announced when Scully came outside with the three sandwiches along with the giant size iced teas.
