Gwen woke up in a dark, cold, old room with pictures of tall people painted into the wall. Suddenly, a large door opened and a large figure walked through. "Gwen Stacy." It said with a low yet loud and powerful voice said.

Play dumb she thought. "Who's Gwen Stacy?"

"Don't play dumb with me. I know everything about you. I know the Peter you killed. I know your dad got shot. And I know your precious boyfriend could've died if you weren't so weak and pathetic."

"How dare you." Gwen tried to leap at the figure but was held down by something heavy and felt a sharp pain run through her body.

"Ah, ah, ah. No resisting. You don't get to do anything that I didn't say you can do."

"Says who?"

"Says the Lion." Morlun sneered.

--Miles swung as fast as he could to the warehouse the spiderfam just met at a few hours ago. When he finally got there he saw the whole spiderfam and Miguel there debating on what they should do. When they saw Miles they quickly fell silent.

"What happened?" Miles demanded.

Miguel decided to be the bearer of bad news though not to his comfort. "A few hours after all of you left, I was back at my dimension when Gwen suddenly texted me. She said she needed help at her house so I quickly went to her dimension and swung to her home. Her house was in ruins and there were even some bullet holes by the time I got there. I found her dad crying and he told me that she was taken by two people that were very experienced in fighting and looked similar to each other. I asked him what happened but he said that he didn't know because they knocked him out cold after he fired a few rounds at him. We have no idea where she is now."

This can't be happening. Miles thought as he felt his anger rise. "Do you know who took her?" He demanded.

Miguel paused. "Yes."

"Who?" Miles nearly shouted.

Miguel sighed before explaining. "As I told you, the Lion is part of a very powerful family. Two members are Bora and Brix. They're twins and always compete with each other while fighting and love taunting their enemies. They're a dangerous duo and not many have defeated them."

So this Lion wants Gwen? I'll show him what he gets for that. Miles thought before trying to calm himself down. No, that'll get you killed. You're useless to everyone if dead. He finally calmed down and spoke again. "How will we get her back then?" He asked calmly.

Miguel was shocked by his sudden calmness but didn't mention it. "I don't know. My only plan was to get help and attack the Lion, I never thought something like this would happen."

"We can sneak into wherever they're hiding." Peter suddenly suggested.

"That's the problem, I have no idea where they are." Miguel said.

"Well let's start thinking of a new plan." Peni said as she jumped off of her robot.

Gwen found out that the chains holding her down disappeared when morlun left and saw that they never took her dimension hopper. She quickly used it to look up where she was. Once she found it, she texted Miles where she was and hoped that he came soon.

Little would she know, Morlun could see her there and knew exactly what she was doing. Good, lure them to me. Morlun thought as he rose from his chair and called for Daemos.

"Yes brother?" Daemos said when he arrived.

"Prepare the Inheritors. The Feast is upon us."

While the spiderfam was still debating on what they should do, Miles' dimension hopper alerted him of a text. He saw that it easy from Gwen and quickly read it.

At Earth 001. Come quick.

"Guys! Gwen just texted me! She's at Earth 001."

"That's gotta be where Morlun is." Miguel said.

"Then let's go!" Peter demanded.

"Alright fine. Morlun probably wants to do something with her so we gotta be fast. Me, Peni, Noir, and Ham will create a distraction. Peter and Miles will go look for Gwen got it?" Everyone nodded. "Good, now let's go, we may not have much time left." Miguel opened a portal to Earth 001 and had everyone walk through it. The land was complete barren except for a tall building.

"Gotta be where they are." Peter said.

"How are we going to create are distraction though?" Peni asked.

"Just wing it. Destroy stuff loudly. You know, distracting stuff."

"Got it."

"Miles, Peter, remember, don't go until all of the guys are distracted by us. Then, look for Gwen." Miguel said to them. Peter and Miles nodded. Miguel led the other spiders to the building and pushed the door open. Why is this unlocked? He thought when suddenly he heard a saxophone loudly playing. He looked down and saw Ham playing the saxophone horribly. "Ham! What the *beep* are you doing?!"

"You said create a distraction. Is that not a distraction?"

Miguel was about to respond when all of the Inheritors suddenly appeared and charged at them. Well, it did work. Miguel thought as he punched the closest Inheritor to him.

--Miles and Peter checked each room for Gwen when they came across a door with multiple locks on it.

"Gotta be where she is. See if you can melt the locks with your venom shock Miles." Miles did as Peter said and saw that the locks indeed melt to the shock. They walked into the room and saw Gwen laying there unconscious.

"Gwen!" Miles shouted as he ran up to her. He was about to reach her when something suddenly pushed him back into the wall. He looked up and saw a tall figure standing there with an evil grin on his face.

"Good evening gentleman, or should I say, children and... overweight, middle aged man." He said as he laughed mockingly at them. "I don't believe we met, let me introduce myself..."

"We know who you are. You're the Lion." Miles spat.

"Language child. Your mother would be horrified to have someone kiss her with that dirty mouth. But still, I am flattered to hear that you know me. But since I think we would be quite close, perhaps you should know my real name, Morlun. And I suppose you know my family the Inheritors."

"Seem like a dumb names." Peter said.

"I don't believe you are in the situation to call anyone dumb right now."

"What does he... oh no." Peter said in realization.

"What?" Miles asked.

"Think about it. Gwen's dimension hopper was somehow not taken away so she could text you. The locks were easily melted away when this guy proved that he can use magic or something like that. That must mean that..."

"It's a trap." Miles completed his sentence.

"Correct, but unfortunately, it's too late." Morlun said as he suddenly sprung to the two and attacked them. He picked up Peter and started to squeeze his neck. Miles tried to make him let go by venom shocking him but all it did was grab his attention so he can fling Miles off. He let go of Peter just when he was about to run out of air. Miles tried to web Morlun up bur he used the web to throw Miles to the wall again. "I am quite disappointed. I really expected more from the 'Savior of the Spiderverse'. Pathetic name. But enough games. I have not eaten in a while and your girlfriend looks like a delicious treat." Morlun said as he picked up Gwen and slapped her out of unconsciousness.

"What's going on?" Gwen said as she woke up." Morlun said nothing but Miles tried to stop him one last time but was stopped again by Morlun who smashed him against the wall and held him there with his hands. Miles started to struggle against Morlun but he was too weak.

"A front seat view of your lover's death. Thank me." Morlun said.

"Gwen, no.." Miles said as he saw Gwen kick around for false hope of escape.

"I love you." Gwen said through tears as Morlun bit down on her and sucked up her life force. Morlun started to glow blue and suddenly disappeared, dropping Miles.

"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Miles screamed as he punched the wall with all his might and started sobbing. He suddenly felt all of his emotions to build up into a massive venom shock. Soon he couldn't contain it and released it through his whole body as he started to glow with electricity but he couldn't care less about it. All he felt was grief and anger as he kept sobbing.

Gwen, the one true love of his life, the only person that made his life complete, his angel, was gone.

Murdered helplessly while he stood there and watched.

Gone.

Forever.

Miles saw Peter walking up to him with a look of pity and sorrow and tried to comfort him while he sobbed and walked out of the room.

Miguel and the rest of the spiderfam were no match for the rest of the Inheritors who beat them easily. Peni's robot was completely destroyed and the rest of the spiderfam looked like they all broke something. Only Miguel seemed like he wasn't injured but he was clearly exhausted. When he saw Miles with Peter, he ran up to them but backed away when he got a closer look at Miles.

"What?" Miles demanded.

"You're... glowing."

"Big deal." Miles said as he walked away while still sobbing. Miguel considered asking Miles but decided against it after seeing Miles' anguish.

"It was a trap." Peter said with a defeated tone.

"I know." Miguel thought he shouldn't ask it but his curiosity got the best of him. "What happened in there?" He asked quietly so Miles wouldn't hear.

"I'll tell you later." Miguel nodded in understanding and walked up to Miles and put his hand Miles' shoulder to get his attention.

"Let's go home kid."
