"I like her." Miguel accidently blurted out. He didn't know why he did because he knew that he didn't.

"What?"

Miguel looked up and saw Silk looking at him with a confused look on her face. Crap! he thought as he mentally slapped himself.

"Ummm." Miguel stuttered. Suddenly, he heard Lyla laughing at him. "You knew that she was awake and never told me?" He quietly muttered to her.

"Yep, I wanted to see what your reaction would be. And it was priceless." She said and continued laughing.

Miguel rolled his eyes then looked back at Silk, who looked at him with even more confusion on her face. "Sorry about that, I was just talking to Lyla about something. You can go now."

Silk looked at him before getting up from the bed. "Ok, thanks for your help."

"Yeah, yeah no problem." Miguel rubbed his neck. What is my problem? he thought to himself.

"By the way, what did you mean by 'I like her'?" She asked at the doorway.

"Um, I was talking about, uhh, my car. Yeah I was just saying that I like my car and I just called it a her."

"Oh, uh, ok." Silk raised her eyebrow in confusion before walking away.

"I'm such an idiot." Miguel muttered to himself as he kept rubbing his neck.

"Yeah, you are. Really? Your car? You don't even have a car." Lyla said to him and started laughing again.

"Shut up Lyla, you're the one that got me into that mess in the first place."

"Whatever."

Miguel walked out of the room and went towards his holocomputer. "Did you find Morlun yet?" He asked Lyla.

"Not yet, I made some progress and narrowed it down to a few hundred dimensions, but it's going to take a while longer for me to find out which."

Miguel sighed. He had no idea how much time they had left until Morlun attacked again to take Gwen. "Keep looking, we don't know how much longer we have until he comes for Gwen."

Miles woke up to the painful feeling of his body feeling like it was being torn apart. He screamed until finally, the pain stopped. He suddenly realized that his dimension hopper was gone and that he was beginning to glitch. A new wave a fear swept over him and he realized that he won't have much time until he will disintegrate into nothing from the glitch soon.

Suddenly, the door opened and revealed Verna and Morlun walking in. "Ah, our guest is awake. Verna, how about you give him a little push to wake him up even more?"

"With pleasure, brother." Verna said to Morlun. Then, she whistled and the hounds around her began to attack Miles. Morlun snapped his fingers and chains appeared to hold Miles to the wall so he couldn't fight back against the hounds. Verna whistled again and the hounds went back to her. When the hounds returned to Verna, Morlun walked up to Miles, made the chains disappear, and grabbed his body to crush him.

"There is no escaping this, you are soon going to die a very painful death, and your little friends won't be able to save you this time." Morlun sneered. He squeezed Miles even harder until he heard some of his ribs snap. Morlun dropped him as Miles screamed in pain from the broken ribs. "Come sister, let's leave the boy alone to deal with the pain alone." The two laughed evilly as they left the room, leaving Miles in the room alone as he hoped that his friends would come and rescue him soon.

Miguel continued working to find out where Morlun was when he heard the door suddenly open. He turned to see Silk and Gwen enter the room and laughing about something as they walked to the kitchen. Gwen whispered something to Silk which made her laugh.

Her laugh is beautiful. Miguel thought but immediately dismissed the thought. Stop that, that's creepy, and you don't like her he thought but still caught himself staring at her a little bit too long and she looked at him with a surprised face.

"Oh, sorry Miguel, I didn't realize you were busy, I'll leave so I don't disturb you." She said and started to walk away.

"No, it's fine, Lyla is pretty much doing all of the work anyways." Miguel said chuckling.

"I guess the future seems to provide some really useful helpers then." Silk said, slightly laughing.

"Lyla is just for tech stuff, you should see what there is for cleaning or transportation." Miguel said as he walked over and grabbed a glass of water.

"I guess I could only imagine could I?" Silk said and chuckled.

Miguel looked at her through the corner of his eyes and sighed. She's beautiful he thought. He tried to deny it but he couldn't find the reason why he wanted to deny it. Do I actually like her? He thought to himself and looked at her again. He felt complete joy burst in his heart at the thought of it when he looked at her. Maybe I do, should I tell her?

"Hey Silk?" Miguel suddenly said.

"Yeah?"

"I want to tell you something, I l-"

"Miguel, I found Morlun." Lyla suddenly shouted at him.

"Uh, hold that thought." Miguel said to her and walked away.

Damn it, Lyla. Miguel thought to himself and went over to the holocomputer. "Where is he?" Miguel demanded. Lyla quickly told him the dimension that Morlun was on and told the other spiders. In a matter of seconds, all of the spiders were there, suited up, and ready to fight. Miguel opened a portal to the dimension that Morlun was at, and all the spiders stepped through it, ready to battle to rescue their captured friend.

When they arrived, Miguel knocked down the door to see all of the Inheritors already waiting for them.

"It's about time you came. I was expecting you to come here some time or the other. Unfortunately for you, that also means you walked right into your deaths." Morlun said and his body suddenly burst into flames. "Kill them."

All the spiders worked together to fight off the Inheritors and were able to knock away Brix quickly. However, Bora became furious that her twin was easily defeated and fought even harder, causing to knock Spider-Woman and Scarlett Spider out of the fight.

Ham jumped on Noir's shoulder and leaped off of him to swing his hammer at Jennix. It forced Jennix to stumble a little bit before grabbing Ham and smashing him against the wall. Noir quickly punched him in the jaw and began fighting him at hand-to-hand combat.

Spider U.K. and Peni tried to fight off Daemos, but we're quickly knocked back when he created a mini vortex with his hammer. U.K. webbed his arms together and Peni was able to grab ahold of his face to throw him against the wall. They were about to knock him out when Brix suddenly came back into the fight and slashed sp/der's arm off. U.K. tried to shoot a hold a web at his feet to make him trip, but Brix was too fast and punched him. He grabbed sp/der's other arm and swung Peni to the wall. He then repeatedly punched Spider U.K. until he passed out.

Verna fought Miguel, Peter, and Cosmic while Gwen and Silk dealt with her hounds. Her hounds were easily defeated and helped the other three fight Verna when suddenly, Morlun slammed the ground, causing fire to ripple through the floor with tremendous force and knocked away the five spiders.

All of the Inheritors quickly surrounded the five after Jennix bested Noir in their fight and knocked him out.

"Well, I must say that I'm disappointed. 10 spiders against us 6 Inheritors and yet we still easily bested you. I expected a more difficult challenge but I suppose we can't always have what we want do we?" Morlun snapped his fingers and all if the Inheritors were about to finish off the rest if the spiders when suddenly, a large blast of energy knocked them all away. Everyone turned to see Cosmic with an aura of energy flowing around him.

"You may have won last time, Morlun, but you didn't have to face the power of the Enigma Force that time." Cosmic said with a voice that sounded like it came from multiple people.

"Ah, yes, the Enigma Force, a very powerful weapon, however, nothing is comparable to my power." Morlun said and blasted a vortex of fire towards Cosmic. Cosmic released his own blast of energy at Morlun, but it did little to stop it and blasted him away.

Miguel, Silk, Gwen, and Peter all attacked Morlun immediately. Gwen leaped and shot webs to the walls to propel herself and kicked Morlun in the jaw. Peter tried web Morlun's face and pull him to the floor but was knocked away. Silk tried to hurl things at him and punched his jaw. Miguel was swiping at his face and was able to draw lots of blood from him, however, it had little effect. Morlun pushed them all off by blasting them with fire.

"Gwen, go find Miles. We'll try to keep him busy." Peter grunted to her and got up.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, just go."

Gwen nodded and swung away to look for Miles. The other two got up and continued to attack Morlun.

Gwen swung throughout the building, checking every room for Miles. Finally, she entered a room that was dark and just had one chair in the middle. Laying beside that chair was an unconscious Miles. Oh no. Gwen thought and rushed to him. He had blood all over him and his lips were blue. She felt his body and felt three broken ribs. She nearly broke down at the sight of his horrible condition but knew that she needed to stay focus if they were going to survive.

"Miles wake up." Gwen said and lightly touched his cheek.

Miles slowly opened his eyes. "G-gwen? Is that you?" He muttered quietly.

"Yeah, yeah it's me Miles." She said as a lone tear fell down on her face. "Come on, let's get you up. We need to get out of here before it's too late." She said and helped him get up.

Peter tried to throw a punch at Morlun but was quickly blocked. Morlun grabbed his hand and started to squeeze it until it broke. Peter screamed as Morlun let go and pushed him away to the wall. Silk tried to web his eyes so he couldn't see, but he quickly burned through the webbing and grabbed her.

"I should've killed you when I had the chance." Morlun said and was about to bite down on her when a sharp pain hit his head. He dropped Silk and looked down to see Miguel with his blood-stained claws out. He felt his face and realized that he clawed his head deeply. Morlun growled at him and grabbed him quickly before he could leap away. Miguel took out a knife and stuck it deeply on Morlun's chest, causing him to drop him.

"Hands. Away. From. Her." He panted. He was beginning to feel the effects of the battle now.

Morlun didn't respond and just swung at him. Miguel jumped and took out the knife in Morlun's chest and jumped over him and sliced his back. Morlun turned and looked at him with hate in his eyes. He tried to attack him again, but Morlun quickly blocked his hands, took the knife, and stabbed Miguel near the heart. Miguel quickly stopped and gasped for air before collapsing on the floor.

Silk tried to run over to Miguel but Morlun quickly grabbed her. "Now, to continue what I started." Morlun said and was just about to bite down on her head when Miguel shot a web to his arm and made him release her.

Morlun walked over to Miguel and picked him up. "That was a mistake." He took the knife in his chest and drew it in even further and twisted it to cut him even more.

He started to crush him and heard two ribs snap and was about to completely crush him when a blast suddenly sent him flying. Cosmic stood there with a bloody face and some smoke coming out of his hands. Miguel completely collapsed on the floor and struggled to breath. All of the Inheritors suddenly glowed and disappeared just as Miles and Gwen entered the room.

"Hey guys! I found Miles! Everything's completely fine now." Gwen said cheerfully with an already recovering Miles limped slightly behind him. She suddenly noticed all of the spiders surrounded something. "Hey guys, what's the problem?" She asked and looked over to see Miguel laying there in a pool of blood and two ribs slightly sticking out. She quickly felt guilty after being so annoyingly cheerful when one of her friends could be possibly dying.

Silk kneeled there and looked at him with appreciation for saving her, and sadness at his injured body. He looked over and saw Gwen and Miles standing there. "You found him, good. At least this whole day wasn't a complete mess." He said, slightly rolling his eyes. His eyes started to droop and he quickly looked at Silk. "What I wanted to say to you before, was that I l - like y - you a l-lot." He managed to say before passing out.

Gwen noticed that Silk quickly wiped away a tear before she asked Lyla how bad Miguel was. "He didn't get stabbed in the heart, but very near it." She replied

"How near?" Peter asked.

"Near enough that I can't tell if he'll survive. I suggest getting him back quickly so I can take care of him."

"Will do Lyla, we'll get him back now." Cosmic said. Peter opened a portal back to Earth 2099 and set Miguel on the bed in the injury room."

"You should go there too." Peter said, looking at Miles.

"I'm fine, I'm sure Lyla has her hands full taking care of Miguel anyways." Miles protested.

"Ha! Doubting my skills I see. I feel bad for you people of the past." Lyla said as machines started to take care of Miguel.

Peter raised an eyebrow at him. "Alright! Fine! I'll let her check on me." Miles said and got on a bed.

A machine started to scan him and displayed a model of his body. "He already healed from any injuries he may have had by now. Only left is a few open cuts from what seems like was caused by acid. Lift your suit up so I can rub some stuff on you that will heal them quickly."

Miles slightly lifted his suit and let some robotic arms rub some liquid on the cuts. He caught Gwen staring at him and smirked at her. "Like what you see?"

Lyla snorted. "Please, if she thinks that's handsome, she must have only seen pictures of models dressed in clown suits."

Miles and Gwen both rolled their eyes as Peter laughed loudly at Lyla.

The door suddenly opened and Silk walked into the room. "C-can I be alone with him?" She asked to the three spiders in the room.

"Of course." Miles said and all three of them walked out.

"Well, I have to go back to my dimension, you kids go crazy." Peter said and opened a portal back to his dimension.

"Hey, wanna hang out?" Miles asked when Peter disappeared.

"Yeah, sure." Gwen said.

Gwen opened a portal back to Miles' dimension and took his hand in her's and walked through it. He went and sat down on the nearest rooftop and looked up at the sky.

Gwen sat down next to him and sighed as she looked up to the sky and saw the stars. "They're beautiful, aren't they?"

"Not as beautiful as the beautiful face that helped me survive." Miles said and looked at her. Gwen smiled at him and kissed him. How she missed doing that when he was gone.

"What do you think is going to happen with Miguel?" Miles asked after a few minutes.

"Hopefully, he survives. He's quite the leader in these kind of times."

"Yeah, he is. I hope he survives too." Miles said, nodding.

"I should get back, tell my parents the good news. I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?"

"Yeah, sure Miles." Gwen said. They stood up and kissed each other before Miles jumped off the building to swing over to his house. Gwen sighed at him. I'm so glad he's back she thought and opened a portal back to her dimension.

Morlun slammed his fist on the table, forcing it to break. His whole plan was ruined by those two stupid teenagers and their stupid friends.

"Brother, relax, we will come up with a plan soon and have revenge on those spiders." Daemos said, trying to calm Morlun down.

"That was a fool proof plan that Cosmic spider ruined it." Morlun snarled and punched the wall, making a large dent in it.

"Then we kill him, and we kill them all." Verna said simply.

"Yes, sister, but with what? Until I reach my true potential, I cannot stand a chance against him."

"You kill him, by following this plan." Jennix said. He then whispered something in Morlun's ear, causing him to grin.

"That could work. Get the preperations ready. The spiderverse shall soon be mine." Morlun said and grinned evilly with flames in his eyes.
