Do y'all hate the cliffhanger? Nobody said a thing. T_T

Oh well, at least tell me where I'm going about it wrong, I might edit the story if I get some pointers. Toodles!

'Yes, you're right.' Brick calmly answered, getting even closer to her.

Blossom looked around horrified, she felt as if something had gotten stuck in her throat and she couldn't breathe.

'Calm down, it's fine. I'm not going to hurt you.'

Brick placed a hand on her shoulder and guided her towards the bed.

'Listen to me. Before you react in any way.

This is just a small part of you, I entered the shallowest place I could find, where you were most comfortable. This...' he pointed at her and himself 'is just a projection of yourself and me inside your head. Nothing too complicated.' he dismissed her concerns with a flick of his hand. 'I'm not going anywhere where you wouldn't want me.'

Blossom felt a wave of nausea overcome her.

'Does he know everything I think...?'

'Brick, how...' she began, struggling to find the words.

'You asked me to show you what I can do.' he said, sitting next to her on the bed.

'This...this is insane.' She started pacing up and down the room, trying to make sense of the situation.

'Calm down. This is nothing. Like I said, I limited myself to this room, this projection. I wouldn't mess with your thoughts, I respect your privacy. ' he grabbed her hand, dragging her back to the bed.

''Respecting my privacy'??!! I think we're light years beyond that. You got into my FUCKING head without my consent !' she spat at him, barely managing to keep it together.

'I asked you. You said yes.' he shrugged her off.

'I didn't know it would be.. ..THIS!' Blossom pointed around as if overtaken by a frenzy.

'Then stop asking so many questions if you're not ready for answers.' Brick coldly said, tapping his fingers on the bedframe.

Hearing this, Blossom attempted to calm down, taking in a few deep breaths. She managed to regain her composure and did the first logical thing she thought of.

'Can you hear me? ' she thought, paying a furtive glance at her counterpart.

He didn't budge, instead seemed interested in looking at the titles in her nearby bookcase.

'Maybe he isn't lying about not accessing my thoughts? But I can't know for sure. The longer he's here the bigger the possible damage though. '

He didn't react to what she'd thought, instead he asked her:

'Are you a bit more relaxed now?'

Blossom nodded. 'But I want you out of my head. Now!'

'Fine by me.' Brick smirked, and in an instant they were back in the cottage, Blossom collapsed on the floor, her counterpart towering above, extending a hand towards her.

'Are you alright?' Brick whispered.

'...'

'Get away from me, Brick.'

He frowned at her, keeping his arm extended.

' I haven't done anything wrong. You asked for it.'

'Don't kid yourself, you knew it's not something you do without the other's permission.'

Brick grabbed her, throwing her into the mattress, pinning her down by the wrists, his hair covering them both like a crimson curtain.

'This was nothing. You're whining for no reason whatsoever. It was but a glimpse of what I can do and you're already scared shitless. '

Blossom felt fear creeping in her bones as she was forced to gaze into Brick's fiery eyes.

'What can he do...? "

'You said I have a God complex.' he chuckled. 'Well, I just think I'm realistic.'

Blossom's wrists were whitening from the pressure as he dug her deeper into the mattress.

'Get off me, Brick.' Blossom hissed as she attempted to free herself from his grip.

Brick unleashed her, Blossom then quickly got up and went in the opposite corner of the bed, her back turned towards him.

He initially seemed taken aback, then a softness overcame his features as realisation sunk in.

'Blossom...' his hand reached for her shoulder, and she flinched at the touch.

'What do you want...? Blossom said flatly, attempting to subdue the storm of emotion wailing in her heart.

'I didn't want to scare you.'

'I think it's exactly what you wanted, otherwise you'd have warned me before invading my head.' Blossom said icily, turning her head towards him.

He only smirked, then got closer to Blossom's side of the bed, taking a seat next to her.

'You're probably right.'

Blossom was surprised when he gingerly picked up her hand and started following the lines of her palm with his index.

'But I don't want that for us.' he continued, his finger going up the skin of her forearm.

Blossom felt her breath quicken.

'...How do you do it... How did you get in my head?' she found herself asking.

He lifted her chin with his right index finger.

'It's already more than enough that you know that I can do it. It's not information I give away freely. Don't ask more, you wouldn't like what you'd find.' he whispered in her hair.

'Don't underestimate me.' Blossom interjected, his breath sending shivers down her spine.

'That's exactly why I'm not telling you, because I wouldn't dare to.'

His crimson eyes drilled into hers, and Blossom could read a glimmer of suspicion in them.

'You don't trust me.'

Brick gave her a knowing half-smile:

'You're not mine yet, not fully.'

'...What if I'll never be...?'

Blossom expected him to shut her up again with promises and soothing words, but instead he looked at her straight in the eyes and said:

'It's either we merge fully or we destroy eachother. You know there isn't any other way.'

It rang true to her. Looking back into his ruby orbs, so much like her own, she knew he could never be a stranger to her again. She had no choice.

Blossom averted her gaze , seemingly turning her attention the blizzard outside. A few moments passed until she heard him asking:

'Aren't you tired at all? I came here with the intention to sleep, you know.' he playfully grinned at her, laying back into the bed.

Blossom simply nodded and quickly got under the covers, turning her back towards her counterpart. Her brain kept rummaging through the earlier scenario for ways in which she could attempt to replicate his technique.

'This is a whole new different level. I would have never thought of using a power beam like that. How...How does he do it? And.. what can he do more?'

Her train of thought was interrupted by the sensation of an arm encircling her waist and pulling her closer. She felt his hot breath on the nape of her neck as he spooned her, and heard him whispering in her ear:

'It's kind of cold, do you mind?' She could almost see the smirk spreading on his face as he added: 'Thought we'd huddle for warmth.'

'Thought you said you don't mind the cold as a superhuman.' she teased.

'Oh, I'm obviously doing it for you.'

'I never asked.'

'I can read your mind, remember?'

Blossom momentarily stiffened, then she heard a chuckle and a soft 'Just kidding. ' before he drifted off to sleep.
