Chap 16:

A month has passed and no word from Chichi or Yamcha.

"Bulma, I am worried, I think something has happened to Yamcha and Chichi" Goku sighed as he leaned towards the doorway, sipping on his morning coffee.

"I know, it's weird not to hear anything from them, and for her to go MIA from her children." Bulma responded as she warmed her bottles for her twin daughters.

"Yea, so if you don't mind, I want to use the dragonballs you collected in the lab to see where Yamcha is at." Goku leaned towards Bulma and gave her a kiss on her head. "I am going to call Piccolo, Krillin, Tien and Master Roshi, I think the dragon is going to reveal some things." Goku placed his coffee cup on the table and walked outside.

Bulma sighed as she watched him walk away. She never seen Goku so worried about anything in his life. She knew Goku didn't have a good relationship with Yamcha but she knew that he didn't want anything bad to happen to them.

"I hope this isn't the start of something terrible." Bulma sighed as walked up the stairs to feed the kids for the day.

As the day went by the Z fighters gathered around awaiting for the dragonballs to be summoned. Goku instructed Gohan to stay inside the house with Goten as they retrieve answers on the whereabouts of Yamcha.

"So where do you think Yamcha could be?" Krillin asked Master Roshi.

"I don't know but I think I have an idea." Master Roshi sighed as he looked at the sky as it started to turn black and lightning struck the air.

"Who has awakened me from my slumber?" The eternal dragon roared.

Goku stepped closer and announced, "It was I, almighty dragon. I have a wish that I will need to grant for me."

The dragon roared once more, "Please make your first wish."

Goku paused as he yelled, "Please tell us where Yamcha is at now?"

The dragon red eyes glowed as he replied, "The one you call Yamcha is dead laying on the riverbanks in the forest 12 miles from here."

All of the Z fighter eyes opened in shock.

"How did his dead body get to the riverbank?" Tien exclaimed as he looked at his fellow friends.

"Yamcha's body was dumped in the river by Vegeta." The dragon replied.

"Vegeta!" Goku yelled as he clenched his fist.

The dragon roared as he started to descend in air, "That was your final wish and now I bid you farewell."

The Z fighters watched as the dragon disappeared into the dark sky.

"So Yamcha is dead, and Vegeta killed him?" Piccolo asked as stepped towards Goku.

Goku stood silently as he thought about his family. He took a deep breath and turned around to face the others.

"Ya'll will retrieve Yamcha's body and give him a proper burial and I will go to Vegeta for answers." Goku growled.

"I will go with you." Piccolo announced as Goku nodded in agreeance.

Goku placed his two fingers on his forehead and tried to locate Vegeta's power level. He focused as he tried to locate his power level.

"I can't sense his power level." Goku mumbled as he continued to focus until he noticed a small pile of debri moving in the wind.

"Looking for me Kakarott." Vegeta smirked as he stepped towards the Z fighters.

"You… You bastard!" Krillin yelled as he put his guard up.

"Oh, little man seems upset with me." Vegeta chuckled as he stepped towards Krillin.

"Why did you do Vegeta, he wasn't in your way at all." Goku yelled stepping in between Krillin and Vegeta. " Me? I didn't kill him."

"Stop lying we asked the dragon where Yamcha was and he stated that you dumped him in the river." Goku growled.

"Tsk Tsk... " Vegeta shook his finger from side to side, "I might have dumped him in the river, doesn't mean I killed him." Vegeta smirked as he stepped closer to Goku. "So how is my old whore doing any? I heard you knock her up, I guess that is all she is good for."

Goku growled and threw a punch that was immediately caught by Vegeta. Vegeta chuckled as he heard Goku growl in frustration.

"You gotta be quicker than that." Vegeta stated as mushed Goku's fist away.

"You are not welcome here." Piccolo interjected as he noticed Goku starting to get frustrated.

Vegeta snapped his head over his shoulder, staring at Piccolo, "Don't worry, I am about to leave."

"Where is Chichi?" Goku yelled, gaining Vegeta's attention once more, "She was with Yamcha, you better not have hurt her!"

Vegeta sighed and gave a smirk, "Ah, Kakarott, why are you worried about her.. Don't you have that weakling of a woman."

Goku's power level rose as he was losing his temper, "ANSWER ME!"

Vegeta burst out laughter and leaned into Goku's ear, "Well, just know she is in good hands." Vegeta jumped back, as Goku tried to punch him in Vegeta's face. " Did I say something that struck a nerve?"

"Vegeta, you better not hurt her." Goku yelled.

Vegeta rolled his eyes and turned away but was stopped by Piccolo's voice.

"Vegeta, how are you hiding your power level? Even now, your power level seems low but you were able to block Goku's punch like it was nothing. What are you up to?" Piccolo questioned, staring at Vegeta for a response.

"That's none of your concern." Vegeta turned back around and faced Goku, "Yamcha should have been the least of your worries, If I was you, I will protect my family. Don't want nothing to happen to my children and your fiance'."

Goku's eyes widened as his power level began to rise, "You are not welcome here! And if I see you near my family, I will kill you."

Vegeta stared for a moment and scoffed. Vegeta placed his fingers on his forehead, "See ya" and he immediately disappeared.

"What just happened?" Tien asked, "When did he learn how to do Instant Transmission?"

"I don't know guys, but I don't like this." Krillin responded as he crossed his arms, looking at his comrade.

"Me either." Tien replied, "Goku, I am going to get Yamcha and we will prepare a ceremony."

Goku nodded as he watched Tien and along with Krillin fly away.

"What are you thinking?" Piccolo asked his long time friend.

"Piccolo, I don't know what is about to happen but mark my words, I will die before I let anyone lay a hand on my children and wife." Goku clenched his first and punched the tree next to him.

"What about Chichi?" Piccolo asked.

"I am still worried about that as well, but he said something that made me think…. But anyway I am going to Bulma the news. Be careful my friend." Goku nodded as he walked away.

Piccolo stared at Goku as he walked towards Capsule Corp.

"Goku, be careful my friend." Piccolo sighed and flew to the lookout.

Goku walked in seeing Bulma sitting with Gohan on the couch.

"Hey, are the littles sleepy?" Goku asked as he sat in the recliner in the corner.

"Yep, so that was quick?" Bulma questioned as she noticed the worry was on Goku's face."Goku what is wrong?"

"Bulma… Gohan… Yamcha is dead." Goku stated with a hard cold stare on his face.

"Dead?" Bulma asked.

"Dad? What about mom?" Gohan asked as he tried to hold his tears.

"It seems like your mother is fine but we still need to figure out where she is at. And the dragonball revealed that Yamcha was floating along the riverbanks and that Vegeta was the one who put them there." Goku replied, sliding his fingers through his hair.

"We got to go and find mom!" Gohan yelled as he stood up.

"No, Gohan, you will stay here. Me and others will be the ones looking into it. Vegeta has something planned and I am not going to lose you." Goku replied as he stared at his eldest son.

"Dad I am not a child, I am 16 and I can help!" Gohan yelled,clenching his fist.

"Gohan…" Bulma stated soothly trying to calm down the situation but was interrupted by Goku.

"Gohan, I don't care how old you are! You are not going out there and that is final." Goku stood up and stared down at his son, "I am not going to lose you or your brothers and sisters. I will make sure everyone is safe"

"But Dad!" Gohan pleaded but immediately cowered down as his dad began to yell.

"GOHAN! The answer is No. I am not going to let you risk your life for your mother who might have something to do with this!" Goku yelled and walked away.

Gohan stood, trying to hold his tears.

"Gohan, let me talk to him. He seems to be under a lot of stress." Bulma stood and held Gohan in her arms. "I will talk to him okay, just get washed up for lunch."

Gohan nodded as he went upstairs.

Bulma sighed as she dropped her body on the couch, "Goku I don't know what is going on but I hope it doesn't get any worse than it is." Bulma thought to herself. "But honestly, I think it's only the beginning.
