I was awake but feeling very tired. I'd staid up late to work on all of my essays for Tom, that way I didn't have to work on the weekend. I was just falling asleep when Draco shook me. "Potter!" I looked up and rolled out of bed before making my way to get ready for the day. "I'm not taking you to your next class, my Uncle Rabastan is."
"Your uncle?" I asked, stopping in my footsteps to look at him.
"That's what I said." Draco said, getting irritated.
"Whatever." I snapped, irritated myself.
When I was ready to start the day, and Malfoy was dragging me out, I headed for the Great Hall to have breakfast… until we ran into what was apparently Rabastan. "I will happily take Harry from here Draco." Draco smiled.
"Yes sir." With that, Draco headed to the Great Hall alone.
"I haven't had any breakfast." I said, hoping he'd let me go.
"I know. You are to have breakfast with me."
"What? Why?" I snapped, trying to side step him but he only grabbed hold of my wrist.
"The Supreme Headmaster has ordered it. I am also to teach your next class. Magical Theory." I yanked away from him.
"Fuck you and fuck that supreme headmaster of yours!" With that I headed to the Great Hall and instead of sitting with the Slytherins, I sat with the Ravenclaws instead. I sat next to Seamus. I grabbed some food and put it on my plate and looked up at the staff table to see Tom was still here. Though I saw Rabastan standing next to him. Whatever he said had Tom searching the Great Hall until his gaze landed on me and I immediately looked away.
I was just finishing my sausage when I felt fingers wrap around my neck. I froze. "Harry, I need you to come with me." Tom said. Seamus turned on him.
"Harry doesn't have to do anything you say!" Tom's voice became ice.
"Are you brave enough to stop him?" I grabbed Seamus' arm.
"Don't." I told him, standing up and letting Tom lead me out of the Great Hall and into the Entrance Hall.
"Good choice Harry. Now I am going to let your earlier behaviour slide, I do not have time to deal with it and nor do you." Before he could say anything more, I asked him a question, I had been dying to ask him.
"What do you want for the open ended essay?"
"Now is not the time to talk about that either. What I want is for you to go with Lestrange." He shoved me into Rabastan. "If he misbehaves, you have my permission to put him in time out. Only time out. Nothing more, nothing less." With that Tom swept back into the Great Hall.
"You're a bastard, you know that?"
"I was only following orders."
"Yeah, I don't give a damn." He led me up the Grand Staircase and onto the Fifth floor before leading me into an office where a buffet was waiting. I sat down in a chair and he sat across from me. I didn't move to eat and he put food on my plate himself. I just played with it, feeling bitter.
He tried to start up conversation but I ignored him every time. When he gave up, it was time for the lesson to begin, but the food didn't disappear. On his lesson, I only half listened, still feeling bitter about what happened.
"For homework I would like a short 100 word essay on your opinion of Magical Theory." Hearing him say that, I got up and left quickly, almost running. I was on my way to the Quidditch Stadium to practice flying when I came across Hermione and Ron. I sat down with them and took a deep breath before letting it out.
"Harry? What's wrong?" Hermione asked.
"Nothing, I'm fine. Just happy to see you guys."
"We know something's wrong mate." Ron said, looking at me.
"I'm just so… angry. I wish we were all still in Gryffindor. At least together it wouldn't be so exhausting to deal with these assholes. I'm surrounded by them almost 24/7 and I just… can't handle it without getting so angry." That's strange… I actually feel better.
"I know mate. I miss you too. At least they can't touch you right? Since You-Know-Who has a personal interest with you?"
"That changes nothing. At least you don't have to deal with Bellatrix."
"Uh, actually Bellatrix Lestrange is Head of House of Hufflepuff House, my new House." Hermione said, giving me a look. I gave a slight blush and a sheepish smile.
"Sorry Mione." She shook her head.
"You don't have to be sorry. Who's Head of House of Gryffindor or Slytherin?"
"Ryan Jugson is Gryffindor Head of House." I frowned.
"I haven't figured out who's Head of Slytherin." I could ask Tom… he's always answering questions.
"Dean said that Amycus Carrow was Head of Ravenclaw House." Hermione said. Ron perked up a few minutes later.
"Time for lunch!" Hermione rolled her eyes.
"Seriously Ron, is your stomach all you think about?"
"It's better than thinking about other things, like what my family is going through. Come on Harry." I got up and followed them into the Great Hall and sat down at the Gryffindor table. We put food on our plates and I began to eat, enjoying myself again.
Draco came over after lunch, looking at me and ignoring everyone else. "Harry, it's time for Care of Magical Creatures." I stood up, eager to see Hagrid. I turned to look at them but Draco shook his head. "It's with the Ravenclaws." I said bye and followed Draco down to Hagrid's hut.
When we got there, Hagrid was smiling. He had a Death Eater nearby. When we got there, he began. "Good evenin'. Welcome ter yer firs' class o' Care fer Magical Creatures. Today we'll be meetin' one o' my friends. Zepher." He left and came back a few minutes later with a griffin. "Today yer all goin' to take turns feedin' him. See, gryffins are less trustin' than hippogriffs." He pulled out a wand and waved it… I was amazed. I walked over to him while the other students were feeding the griffin. "Hiya Harry."
"Hagrid? You used magic?"
"I don' use it fer much. I don' want ter be usin' it fer the wrong reason. The Minister cleaned me record an' sent me some money fer a new wand."
"Did you see the Minister's name?"
"Well, no I didn'. Why?"
"The Minister of Magic is-" I was interrupted by that Death Eater.
"Mr. Potter, I suggest you go participate in today's lesson."
"Travers, i's fine." Travers gave a polite smile.
"No, it isn't. If Harry Potter wishes for a good grade, and not a referral, then he must participate." I frowned.
"A referral to who?"
"The Supreme Headmaster of course." I rolled my eyes.
"You act like I should know who that is. As far as I know, that position is made up and you're just using it as a scare tactic." I said, crossing my arms over my chest and giving him a smirk. His eyes furrowed, a bit concerned.
"Nevertheless, participate or I will have no choice but to send you to the Supreme Headmaster."
"You and what army? I've fought Voldemort himself, not to mention his Death Eaters. I think you're just telling me that so I'll do what you say. I won't fall for your stupid manipulation." I turned back to Hagrid. "Hagrid, do you want me to feed Zepher?" He smiled.
"Sorry Harry, yeh have to for next lesson to work. Riding and proper care." I beamed.
"That sounds awesome!" I turned back to the Death Eater. "I'm doing it because Hagrid asked me to, not because you're threatening me, coward." With that I walked away, making sure to bump into him. "Sorry, didn't see you there." I lied.
From there, class was actually fun. Especially when the griffin began to show all of us slight affection. In the middle of class the griffin stopped eating and instead laid down. Hagrid came forward and gave us small bowls filled with water and had a giant bowl placed close to Zepher. We took turns filling our bowls and dumping them out in Zephers' until he began to drink and used the water we poured to go over his head. By the end of class Zepher was sitting in the giant bowl, even though he kind of didn't fit.
"See yeh all next week!" Hagrid called.
