Night Ninja ran up the stone stairs with great agility and Luna Girl was once again carrying Romeo using her Luna Magnet.
"What do you mean the PJ Masks triggered the Splatcano?" Luna Girl asked, brows furrowed in concern.
Romeo looked equally anxious. This was not good. Something was definitely wrong with the PJ Masks.
"I was training in one of the caves below the Splatcano when the PJ Pests came here. Then they started to fight us. We weren't even doing anything bad. An Yu came along and did something to the Splatcano. It started to gurgle and rumble. It's going to erupt now, and my Ninjalinos are trapped in the cave. The PJ Masks used my own Sticky Splat against me!" Night Ninja ranted.
"Are they still there, or have they left?" Romeo questioned. He still could not understand why they wanted to do such things to the villains.
Night Ninja shook his head. "They're still there," he said.
The three villains reached the cave at last and Romeo and Luna Girl were taken aback by the mess. Ninjalinos were everywhere. Ninjalinos were stuck to the wall, the floor, on top of the cave; literally everywhere. Sticky Splat was stuck everywhere too. An Yu's eyes met the trio's. She swirled her staff and wind came out of it, blowing Luna Girl and Romeo away. Night Ninja managed to stay on the ground. A fierce battle emerged between Night Ninja and An Yu. While they fought, the PJ Masks surrounded Romeo and Luna Girl.
"Back off villains. This is not the place for you to cause harm." Catboy hissed.
"I'll show you Kitty," sneered Luna Girl and held Catboy up in the air using her Luna Magnet. She swung him around and Owlette came to his rescue.
"You're nothing without Robot, Romeo. Better back off." Gekko said. But Romeo was not one to be easily intimidated. A long stretchable mechanical arm shot out from Romeo's backpack and it instantly grabbed Gekko.
"You will pay, pay for everything!" Romeo's metal arm gripped Gekko harder, and An Yu saw it. She threw her staff at Night Ninja's face and it knocked him out. Her staff came back to her and she hopped onto it. An Yu zoomed towards Romeo, but he was able to dodge it. His metal arm dropped Gekko, and Gekko rose to his feet. Romeo grumbled and was about to take out a ray from his backpack when Luna Girl came crashing down on him. Owlette was carrying Catboy by his arms. The both of them landed and blue stripes shot out of Catboy's palms.
"Super Cat stripes!" He exclaimed.
The stripes wrapped around Romeo and Luna Girl. They were unable to move.
"PJ Masks, the splat volcano is going to erupt. It is best if you leave now." An Yu warned them.
Owlette and Catboy ran off first, but Gekko stayed behind and looked at Luna Girl.
"Lizard Boy..." Luna Girl looked at Gekko with pleading eyes.
No, he could not do it. Villains did not deserve to be rescued. He gave Luna Girl one last look and ran off. An Yu rushed off on her staff to the Pagoda, which was on top of the mountain, far away from the Splatcano. Night Ninja came rushing to Romeo and Luna Girl. His sleeve was torn slightly and there was a little blood on it. He looked at the Stripes and muttered something under his breath. The Stripes were surrounded by yellow dust and it rose up into the air. Romeo and Luna stood up.
"Ninja Fingers," he told them.
They rushed to the cave, just before the eruption of the Splatcano. The entrance of the cave was almost covered completely with splat. But there was still some space in between so the three of them went inside the cave. Upon going inside, Night Ninja covered the tiny little space they used to come inside using splat.
"Wait, why are you doing that? How are we supposed to get out of here?" Romeo questioned.
"If any of the Mega Splat from the volcano comes inside, we're doomed. That splat is the strongest of all. If we are stuck to the Mega Splat, we're stuck to it forever." Night Ninja said glumly.
His Ninjalinos had managed to get off the walls and floor and everywhere else they were stuck to. However, splat was still stuck on them. It was only regular splat so they could move with ease. Night Ninja clapped his hands and the Ninjalinos stood in order. He started counting them.
"16, 17, 18... 18? Ninjalinos, where are Daisy and Marvin?" Night Ninja asked them. They shook their heads. His eyes frantically scanned their heads once more.
"Daisy and Marvin! I must've left them outside!" Night Ninja said, burying his face into his palms. The ground shook and they could all hear a very loud rumbling sound. The volcano was erupting already. It was too late.
"What do we do now?" Romeo asked.
"We can only wait. We have to wait for the Splatcano to stop. We can't leave until then." Night Ninja replied.
He sighed. "I am sorry for putting you guys through this trouble. It's just that, I can't handle it if something happens to my Ninjalinos. I knew something bad was going to happen so I needed backup. I know I have never asked both of you for help before but it just crossed my mind that, you know, as villains, we should stick together. My Ninjalinos are very important to me. " When Night Ninja finished, the Ninjalinos swarmed around him and hugged him. He smiled and hugged them back. They were only kids so it was Night Ninja's duty to protect them. Romeo and Luna Girl looked at each other. They could relate. Romeo decided that this was the right time to ask him.
"Night Ninja, I wanted to ask you, would you like to team up with me, Luna and the Wolfy Kids? Like, to defeat the PJ Masks once and for all?"
"Of course I would!" Night Ninja exclaimed.
"Very well then. Also, something isn't right with the Masks lately. They destroyed Robot and my Flying Factory." Romeo said.
"What!? Just a couple of days ago, they bombed the top of my Lunar Fortress!" Luna Girl explained what happened to Motsuki to the both of them.
"First Romeo, then you, and now me. This can't be a coincidence. They are deliberately trying to stop us. But from what?" Night Ninja questioned. They could only shrug.
"This means that next they are going to do something−" Romeo started.
"− to the Wolfies." Luna Girl finished. "We've gotta warn them!"
"But first, we have to get out and save Daisy and Marvin." Night Ninja reminded them.
As soon as he said that, the rumbling stopped. The volcano had stopped too.
"Now how do we get out of here?" Romeo asked. Luna Girl and Romeo looked at Night Ninja. He nodded and signalled to the Ninjalinos.
"Ninja Fingers!" The Ninjalinos tried to move the wall of splat but to no avail. Night Ninja groaned.
"It's too strong." He sighed.
"Don't worry. I've got this." Romeo said. He reached into the small bag strapped onto his back and took out a small machine. He pushed the trigger and a black ray shot out. A black glow surrounded the sticky splat wall.
"Here," Romeo said. "This should do it."
Night Ninja tried again and the splat was lifted into the air. All of them ran out but stopped in their tracks. Splat was everywhere. Big lumps of splat blocked their path. And right in the middle of a huge lump were the missing Ninjalinos. They were completely motionless.
"Marvin! Daisy!" Night Ninja ran towards them. They said something and Night Ninja asked for Romeo's ray. He passed it to him. Night Ninja aimed it at the lump and shot it several times. Then the Ninjalinos used their Ninja Fingers once more to lift the two of them up. They did not budge. After several attempts, the sticky splat became loose and the two of them were lifted into the air. When they were lowered onto the floor gently, the three villains noticed that one of Marvin's arms was badly twisted and that Daisy could not stand straight. Her leg was fractured. Night Ninja's eyes widened in shock.
"No..." he said. "This can't be happening..."
The only way to cure them was to give up the power of his Ninja Fingers, the only ninja art that he had mastered. He sighed. There was no other choice. Night Ninja had taken years to master Ninja Fingers and now he had to sacrifice it because the stupid PJ Pests had did such a thing. He muttered something under his breath and the two Ninjalinos rose up. They started to spin, and when they landed back, they were back to normal. Night Ninja patted their heads and they joined the group of Ninjalinos. Night Ninja turned to his fellow villains.
"We have to do something about the PJ Masks." He said firmly. Romeo spoke up.
"Tomorrow, we can meet somewhere, in a secluded place to discuss about my plan. But first, we have to warn the Wolfies about the PJ Masks. I'll text you all with further information later on." Romeo said.
"You have a plan? A plan to defeat them once and for all?" Night Ninja asked.
Romeo nodded.
"I'll tell you guys all about it tomorrow. Now, we've gotta get going. It's almost dawn."
They nodded and Night Ninja signalled to the Ninjalinos. One by one, they all disappeared in a puff of purple smoke. Luna Girl once more held Romeo up in the air using her Luna Magnet.
"See you later, Ninjy." She said and zoomed away on her Luna Board.
Night Ninja closed his eyes and muttered something under his breath, disappearing in a puff of smoke. When he opened his eyes, he was back in his room, wearing his dark blue pyjamas. He pushed his messy hair away from his eyebrows and lay on his bed. Due to his Ninja powers, he would transform into a Ninja boy when Moon light touches him and he could go without any sleep. The same went for Luna Girl. She would transform into the Moon kid she was at night due to lunar energy. Night Ninja took a deep breath and let it out soundly. He closed his eyes and went to sleep.

Romeo took out his phone and texted Rip to watch out for the PJ Masks.
"Oh, and also meet me, Luna Girl and Night Ninja tomorrow inside the museum. Be sure to bring your brothers too." He added in his text message. He smiled smugly to himself. He was getting closer and closer to his plan.

Tomorrow was going to be a big day.
