Part 2

"Guys! Guys, come in!" Gekko frowned.
It was not like Catboy and Owlette to not respond. Gekko looked up at the hologram once more. It was extremely real, and he had been fooled. He had only figured out that it was a hologram when he tried to climb onto the top of the Lab. His hands had gone right through the Lab and that was when he found out that it was a hologram.
"Catboy? Owlette? Come in!" Gekko shouted into the comm.
Something was not right. He tried speaking to PJ Robot and he received no response either. He hopped onto his Rover. He knew where they were. Gekko only had to find them. As he started the Rover, Luna Girl loomed over him.
"Where do you think you're going Lizard Boy?" She sneered.
That was when Romeo appeared. He motioned to Luna Girl and she took what looked like the Luna Scepter. Gekko gasped. How could she have the Moon Gem and Luna Crystal when it was locked in HQ? Without it, she would not have been able to transform her Luna Magnet into the Scepter. Gekko started to say something when a pink ray shot out from the Luna Scepter. Immediately, he was trapped in a Moon Bubble. He looked at the both of them, alarmed. They just cackled and Luna lifted the Bubble off the ground using the Scepter. Gekko was confused beyond words. He could only stare as he neared the Museum, still trapped and controlled by the Scepter.

"Owl Wing Wind!" shrieked Owlette.
She was trying her best to blow the Wolfies away from the artefacts. However much she tried, they did not stop but were instead attacking her with their own howls.
"Yip, yip, Yaroo!" Rip, Howler and Kevin howled in unison.
Owlette could only watch helplessly as the howl blew her away. She landed loudly with a thump and did not get up. She saw stars and struggled to rise. As she tried without success to regain her composure, a pink glow enveloped her and soon, she was floating inside a Moon Bubble. She looked around for Luna Girl and sure enough, she was there hovering on her Board. Romeo was standing below her and Luna Girl's Magnet —Scepter, she observed— was holding another Moon Bubble with a boy in green trapped inside.
"Gekko!" Owlette shouted, shocked.
The PJ Masks were not counting on the villains working together and this surely took Owlette by surprise. As Luna Girl got hold of Owlette's Moon Bubble, the villains exited the Museum and were headed towards what looked like the Library.

Catboy pounced on another one of the Ninjalinos. Night Ninja threw a sticky splat right at his face. Some of it went into his mouth. Spitting it out, Catboy growled. He pounced right on top of Night Ninja's head and using his claws, ripped his mask off his head. Catboy leaped back onto the ground and that was when a ray hit him. He looked up to see the attacker, and there was Luna Girl on her Board, snickering. She controlled the Bubble using her Scepter and they were headed outside the Library. His eyes widened when he saw both of his teammates trapped in some sort of cage. He was equally shocked to see Romeo and the Wolfies by their sides. Luna Girl dropped the Moon Bubble to the ground and released him. Just when Catboy was about to leap off, Howler threw a metallic ball at him and it transformed into a cage in a split second. The cage caught Catboy in mid air and it dropped to the ground. Catboy looked at his teammates, anxiety and confusion evident in his eyes. From the corner of his eye, he saw Romeo taking out a small machine from his backpack. Gekko was about to roll away by pushing the cage to one side when he was zapped by a blue light. He was frozen in whatever position he was in. Rip eyed the machine curiously.
"What's that?" she asked.
Romeo patted the machine gleefully.
"It's the Paralyser, my fellow villain. I found this baby back in my vault yesterday night. Pretty sweet, huh?"
Catboy was about to retort when Luna Girl piped up.
"You didn't tell us about it."
Romeo looked annoyed.
"I told you, I only found it yesterday. I didn't know about it myself till yesterday."
Romeo zapped Catboy and Owlette with it too. That was when Night Ninja and his Ninjalinos came running towards the group. They all stared at him. His face was pale and he had jet black hair that went well below his ears. It was so dark and thick. Night Ninja seemed to blush a little due to the attention. They were all staring at him as it was the first time they had ever seen his face.
"Kitty here tore my mask away. My spare's not with me right now so stop staring." Night Ninja looked at Catboy accusingly.
They all turned their attention back to the trapped heroes.
"You... you worked together?" Owlette asked Romeo, astonished.
It was clear that they did not expect the villains to be on this together.
"Took you long enough. Yes, we did, and we have you all to thank." Romeo said smugly.
"How?" Gekko asked, dumbfounded.
"It's your sappy teamwork value. But I've gotta admit, it did help. With you defeating all of us for almost a decade, it doesn't exactly take a genius to figure out how to stop you all." Romeo said and laughed at his own joke.
His comment made everyone roll their eyes.
"You won't get away with this!" Catboy seethed.
Romeo came forward to Catboy. He tapped his own chin as if he was thinking.
"Oh, but I just did."
Catboy snarled at him. Romeo walked back, ignoring Catboy and took out an iPad from his backpack. The villain tapped something and a hologram of the PJ Crystal appeared in front of them, seemingly coming out of nowhere. He tapped once more, and Gekko felt something weird coursing throughout his body. Owlette spoke up.
"What about the other heroes?" She asked. "They will save us."
Luna Girl looked at Owlette.
"Oh you Lousy Lump of Feathers, always slow to understand, slow to learn." Luna Girl clucked mockingly.
Romeo nodded in agreement.
"Do you see Night Ninja here?" Romeo asked. Owlette looked around. He was there a few moments ago but now he was not. Romeo continued. "He has gone to the entrance of Mystery Mountain to trap An Yu. I simply sent her a signal through HQ that you were in trouble. Night Ninja is waiting outside the portal, and when she comes out, he will catch her. He powers don't work on this side, remember?"
Gekko scoffed at him.
"What about Armadylan? You forgot about him."
"Do you think I will forget something so simple even after planning such a big thing? I have already sent out the signal to him. In fact, he should be here any moment now." Romeo said, pleased.
The familiar rumble shook the ground gently. Luna Girl hid behind a bush to strike Armadylan with her Scepter. Romeo and the Wolfies hid behind the Lab. Armadylan came rushing towards the trapped trio.
"Guys! What happened?"
Just as Catboy was about to reply, a ray hit Armadylan and he was trapped in a Moon Bubble. He looked up in fury only to find Luna Girl smirking. Romeo emerged from the back of his Lab and took out the Vacuum of Doom. Armadylan's eyes widened. Romeo aimed the ray at him and shot him. Kevin threw a metallic ball at Armadylan and the ball surrounded Armadylan, trapping him in a Ball Cage. Luna Girl then stopped the Moon Bubble's force field and her eyes widened.
"Dylan!?" She asked, shocked.
"You've got a problem with that?" retorted Dylan.
Due to the Vacuum of Doom, Armadylan, now just Dylan, had lost his powers so his supersuit was replaced with his normal pyjamas. Luna Girl recognised Dylan as her classmate from school. Romeo did not seem to care and switched to another mode of his Vacuum. As soon as he switched it and hit him with the ray, Dylan was unconscious. Apparently, that function made him forget about all of his memories of being a hero and his powers and made him faint. The Wolfies rolled his cage back to his home to put him to bed. Romeo continued with his plan meanwhile. He tapped again on his iPad and Gekko felt the weird sensation once more.
"Say bye bye Lizard!" he said cheerfully. "I am draining the crystal's power from the bottom so you're the first to go. You won't remember anything about you being a hero, your powers or us."
There was a pang in Luna Girl's heart. That meant Gekko would not remember her. She had no way of seeing him anymore as she and Gekko did not go to the same high school. She continued to gaze at him. Gekko saw her and he too, looked sad. He had missed his chance to tell her. Now he was never going to see her again. Gekko did not know her daytime identity and she was definitely not in his school. Romeo tapped once more, and the sensation got stronger. He started to glow green and floated up in the air, not taking his eyes off Luna. When the glow got stronger, he gave Luna Girl one last look and said something under his breath to Luna Girl. But she could not make out what he had said to her. Finally, he stopped glowing and dropped. He was not wearing his suit anymore, and he was definitely not awake. He too had passed out. Luna Girl chose that moment to excuse herself. She moved away from the villains. Romeo simply continued on with the process. Catboy could do nothing more than stare helplessly. He observed that the holographic Crystal's bottom was grey instead of its usual bright green colour. Just then, Night Ninja came back, along with the Wolfies.
"I used the sleepy splat on An Yu so she wouldn't wake up for another 100 or so years." Night Ninja said happily. When Romeo questioned him on where he had left An Yu, Night Ninja replied that she was in one of the caves in Mystery Mountain. He then ordered his Ninjalinos to carry Gekko back to his house. Catboy braced for impact when Romeo moved on to draining the power of the midsection of the Crystal. Once he was done, The Ninjalinos carried Catboy away too. Romeo stood in front of Owlette, staring into her face.
"This isn't the end Romeo. We'll be back." Owlette said angrily. But deep down, she was not so sure of that.
Romeo's last words to her were, "In your dreams, Feathers."
When he was done draining the power of the last PJ Mask left, he watched the Ninjalinos carry her back to her house. He reminded them to disable her cage as well as the boys' too. They nodded and went away. Night Ninja smirked at him and went off to Mystery Mountain using a portal. They were all pleased that their plan had worked. When he looked around for Luna Girl, she looked really disappointed. He asked her what was wrong but she ignored him and teleported herself to the moon. Romeo figured out it had to do something with Gekko. He had observed Gekko and Luna when he was draining Gekko's powers. Both of them were staring at each other like they were seeing each other for the last time, which was kind of true. She was a lovesick girl. Whatever. It did not bother Romeo. He walked into his Lab. He was not going to start taking over the world instantly. He decided that he needed some time for himself. Romeo drove his Lab back to his house and parked it behind. He shrunk it and entered his house. He opened the door of his room and saw his game console. It was tempting for him to play it, but he knew he had to get some sleep. It was only 4.a.m. but he needed to rest. Romeo took off his Lab coat and teal shirt. He slipped a loose black shirt over his body and changed into shorts. He lay down on his bed, contended. Romeo recalled Owlette's last words. She had said that it was not the end. He laughed out loud. Of course it wasn't the end.

This was just the beginning.
