AN: I'm sorry for the delay, but just life and other stories have gotten to me. I will say, a booboo I have made is that Liam is Rory and Logan's youngest, but also the name of one of Honor's kids...I'm just going to go with it and leave it at that. Please enjoy, read, review. Thank you for your support :)

Rory was annoyed. Logan had promised that he was just going to the office to check e-mails and approve a statement about the anniversary of the shooting and then he would be home and they would leave as a family. Instead, it was just after noon, Liam and Logan were napping and Charlotte was wandering the apartment complaining about how awful it was that she would be going to the Hamptons for the remainder of the summer. Their bags were packed and waiting by the door and as soon as Logan got home with the driver, they would head out of town. That was the plan.
"Mom!" Charlotte shouted from the bathroom.
"Yes Char?" Rory called back as she took a sip of her coffee, which was now lukewarm at best, she was wondering at what point it would become appropriate to switch to wine, they were about to be on vacation after all.
"Where is Dad!?"
"Dad will be here soon," Rory told her, not entirely sure if that was the truth or not. Her phone began to ring and Rory saw that it was his office calling, "you are kidding me?"
"Don't hate me," Logan exhaled, "I'm sorry, this has just turned into a nightmare."
"When will you be home? I want to beat traffic, Logan. Driving with two toddlers and a teenager is a nightmare."
"I sent the car back, you guys leave, I will get there late."
"You are kidding me?" Rory had gone from annoyed to furious in about two and a half seconds.
"I'm sorry, Ace. I just…if I'm going to be off for the next couple of weeks and working from the house for the rest of the summer, I need to take care of this."
"I thought that you had people, people you pay a lot of money to deal with this stuff."
"It is my name on the door," Logan told her, she couldn't see him shrug, or the fact that he was furiously typing on his laptop as they spoke. "I'm really sorry Ace. I will make it up to you."
"Do not bring me jewelry or something tonight. It will feel cheap and icky and I don't want it."
"Noted. Call me when you get there? I will let you know when I'm on my way."
"Are you flying?"
"That is my hope," Logan explained, "otherwise I may as well stay until tomorrow and drive."
"Don't even think about it," Rory was getting a headache just thinking about having to watch her two youngest children while they were trying to get into the pool and just about everything else they could get into that could hurt them.
"I will be there for dinner."
"Don't make promises you can't keep."
"You're that mad?"
"I'm annoyed," Rory exhaled, "but I love you, get to work. I will see you tonight."
"Give the kids a kiss for me."
"Uh huh, goodbye Logan," Rory hung up the phone and looked at her two boys, the spitting image of their father sitting on the couch, "Charlotte, come on, Dad is going to meet us there."
It took about ten minutes to get all three kids downstairs along with the luggage, she smiled at their doorman as she walked onto the street with Logan holding her hand and Liam on her hip, Charlotte was lingering a few steps back showing off her teenaged girl attitude. Rory often wondered if this is what her teenaged years should have been like, a moody girl who thought everyone was against her, but then with the flip of a switch she and her parents were best friends. It wasn't to say that she and her daughter didn't get along, but Charlotte certainly knew how to push every single one of Rory's buttons. At the end of the day though, Charlotte was good to her brothers, a smart girl, a helpful daughter, and although she wouldn't admit it, she still loved to get in bed and snuggle to watch a movie with her parents.
"Come on Liam," Charlotte helped Rory buckle the youngest child in as all four of them climbed into the car, "Mom did you bring his stuffed monkey?"
"It's in my bag," Rory assured her as Charlotte began searching for the toy after buckling him in. "Thank you, Char."
"Remember when it was just you and me?" Charlotte laughed at the thought.
"I do," Rory smiled, "you barely do. It was a long time ago."
"Are you ever mad…at Dad?"
"For what?" Rory asked as the car started moving.
"For not…being here back then?"
Rory shook her head, "honey I know we have talked about it a bit lately, and it is complicated. But those years that it was you and I, and you and I and Jess…those were some amazing years. I wish your Dad hadn't missed out on any of your life, but…it's more complicated than just one person. So I'm not mad at Dad."
"Are you mad at Dad for not coming now?" Charlotte smirked.
Rory laughed and took a moment to consider her response. "I wish Dad was here right now to drive with us, but we are lucky he will be here later. Are you going to stop being so pouty about this trip?"
"I'm going to miss Amanda's birthday."
"I know that honey, but I told you that you can invite Amanda here for a weekend if you want…we don't get much time where we are all together and Dad doesn't have work, and you and your brothers aren't in school."

"You," Rory smiled as she stood with her two boys in front of her and Charlotte laughing beside her, "you are a liar, liar pants on fire!"
"You mad?" Logan stood in the foyer with his arms folded across his chest.
"What the hell?" Rory kissed Logan deeply and smiled into his lips, all three of their children making noises of disgust in the background, "how did you even get here?"
"Well, I flew here this morning after I signed my paperwork."
"But you called me from the office."
"My soft phone on my computer is where I called from," Logan laughed, "I wanted to get out here early so that I could make sure that everything was all set."
"All set for what?"
"We are having a viewing party."
"A viewing party for…"
"Rumour is that you received the final cut of the show this week?" Logan whispered in her ear as he held her tightly for a hug, "and I think we need to celebrate. It's an end of an era."
"I would hardly call it an era," Rory smiled shyly against his chest, "so what did you do?"
"Go on," Logan nodded to encourage her to venture further into the house.
"Logan!" Rory gasped as she looked around. Her mother, Luke, her Grandmother, Lane, Zach, Steve and Kwan, Paris, Stephanie, Colin, Finn, Juliet, Rosemary and Robert, "you guys all lied to me?" Rory laughed and looked at Honor, "I just complained to you about him!"
"Well, I couldn't ruin the surprise if you were already pissed at him."
"You complained about me, to my sister?" Logan laughed.
"Everyone is here," Rory tried to ignore the tears forming in her eyes.
"Well, not quite everyone," Logan looked at his watch, "we have four more guests who will be arriving any moment now."
"Jess and Kels?" Logan nodded his head as Rory hugged him tighter, "thank you."
"We are so proud of you, every single one of us. You really didn't think we would want to celebrate?"
"I just didn't want to make a big deal out of it," Rory admitted as she moved to embrace her family and friends, "where are you all staying?"
"Upstairs," Lorelai winked, "and your Dad is sorry he couldn't be here, but he couldn't get away from work."
Rory nodded, "of course. Luke, who is running the diner? Mom said Cesar is on vacation."
"I shut it down for a few days," Luke shrugged his shoulders as though it was no big deal, but Rory knew the truth, it was a very big deal that he would shut down his business just to celebrate her.
"Luke," Rory hugged him, it was the same awkward way they had been hugging since she was a teenager, "thank you."
"It was no big deal," he assured her.
"Luke is proud," Lorelai grinned.
"Well of course he is," Emily interrupted, "we are all proud of Rory, this is an incredible accomplishment."
Rory smiled as she ushered her children in to say hello to their friends and family, her family, Lane's family and Jess and his family would be staying with them for the weekend and everyone else was staying nearby. "You really did this?" Rory asked Logan after they had gotten the kids bags up to their rooms.
"Rory, why didn't you tell me you got the final cut? This is a big deal."
"You have so much going on at work," Rory shrugged as they walked to their own bedroom and Logan tucked their bag into the closet, they would unpack later. "I just figured we have the Netflix thing in September, we didn't need to make a big deal out of this, it's just the cut…we'll be at the premiere in September."
"Ace," Logan gave her a look and pulled her in for a kiss, his hands starting at her cheeks and making their way slowly down to her hips, tracing circles on her back as he went. His lips lingered for a moment before they both pulled away for air. Two toddlers and a teenager meant they didn't get much time alone. So while Logan had invited their family in a show of support for his wife, he also hoped it might mean they would get some alone time during their vacation. "I am so incredibly proud of everything you have accomplished. You have written books, not just one book, you have three books on the best seller list. You have a TV series about your life that you are ending on your own terms, which is pretty phenomenal, and you are the best Mom, and an even better wife to me…so when big things are happening, I want to hear it from you, not Honor. I want to be able to celebrate your accomplishments."
"Logan, you are busy running a media conglomerate…"
"I am your husband first, I am their Dad first…I know that sometimes I miss things, more things than I should and more things than I would like, but you and the kids are my priority. Always."
"You don't have any more surprises up your sleeve, do you?" Rory was still hugging him, her head resting on his chest.
"Just a few, but this is the big one."
"I still can't believe," Rory murmured into his chest, "after all these years that you still manage to give me butterflies. I was so mad at you, like…an hour ago, I was furious. You let me be furious with you?"
"It was for the greater good," Logan shrugged.
"Did Charlotte know?"
Logan shook his head, "that kid can't keep a secret to save her life. I would've had to agree to rent a house out for her friends and she still would've told you."
"Those first few years were crucial for our bond," Rory laughed. "This is everything, Logan, truly…"
"Well, we are going for dinner tonight, at Bostwick's, Honor was adamant that it was necessary and very, very nostalgic? Care to fill me in on that? Or am I forgetting something?"
"Well," Rory laughed, "that is where I went for dinner with Honor and Steph when I first came here…before we were together, when we were just introducing Char to your family. It was kind of the beginning of us falling back into the old crew I suppose?"
Logan smiled as they pulled apart, he walked to his dresser and emptied the contents of his pockets. "Who knew that Honor would be so sentimental?"
Rory smiled as she walked into the washroom and splashed some water on her face. "I think that knowing now how everything played out…with your Dad and everything else…a lot of those moments became sentimental after the fact."
"I'll bet you never thought you would think of my Dad and sentimental in the same sentence?"
"I wish," Rory returned from washing her face and pulled her hair on top of her head in a messy bun, "that he got to meet the boys. I mean your Mom loves them so much…but I like to think he would be happy."
"He would be," Logan agreed, thinking back to the first time Rory and Charlotte met up with his parents on a trip to the Hamptons, "I think my Dad would be proud. He would be proud of who Charlotte is becoming, he would be proud of you, and I think he might even be proud of me…he would be the fun Pops to the boys…"
"I like to think that too," Rory nodded. She could hear the kids laughing and playing downstairs, "should we?" she nodded towards the door.
Logan shook his head and took her by the hand, Lorelai had agreed to watch the boys when they went upstairs and Charlotte was chatting with Honor and her cousins. "Come here," he pulled her down on the bed and wrapped his arms around her, "for a few minutes, why don't we just relax."
"You are getting old," Rory laughed as she snuggled against his chest. "The Logan I met in college never slowed down."
"Not true, remember when we had dinner on the roof of the old apartment building?" Logan kissed her head, "stared at the stars…"
"Yes," Rory smiled fondly at the memory, "you lied to me about a meteor shower."
"Is the lie really the only part of that night you want to remember? I remember it being a pretty great visit," Logan recalled.
"We've had a lot of pretty great moments over the years, it's strange…in so many ways I have documented them…the books, the show…" Logan nodded his head. That had been a tough thing for him, when she was writing her books she either needed to tell the truth or leave him out of it, but he knew that it didn't feel right to just gloss over the reality of their relationship, and the same and been true when they turned the books into a television script. Logan wasn't particularly proud of all of the moments that had been shared and often times dramatized for the show, but he was proud of the fact that Rory had committed to the show being a true account of her life. From her relationship with her mother, to her parents relationship, her romantic relationships, friendships, school, everything about her public persona was at it's core an accurate representation of who she was as a person. "But there are still things that feel private. You know? The stolen kisses…some of the stuff from when we were…Vegas," Rory cringed at the thought of their previous agreement. "We were never boring."
"You can call a Huntzberger a lot of things, but you can't call them boring," Logan agreed. "I do wish that Richard was here…to get to know the kids. He was a remarkable man. He would be beyond proud of you."
"Would he?" Rory asked quietly. For the most part she knew that Richard would be happy with how her life had turned out, but sometimes she wondered. Would he thinks he had sold out for writing a book? Would he have been embarrassed by her relationship with Logan while he was engaged to another woman? Would he have thought that it was inappropriate to air their dirty laundry by way of a Netflix series? She supposed she would never know, and her Grandmother had supported the books, she had supported the television show…so that would have to be enough. Emily Gilmore had given her stamp of approval and that would be enough for her.
"He would be," Logan promised her. "He probably would have wished that we had done some of it differently, but if we're being honest, I think that we both wish we had done some things a little bit differently. But I think he would be proud of you, who you are as a mother, as a daughter, a granddaughter, a philanthropist, an author…you have a TV show Rory. You have taken all of these opportunities and just knocked it out of the park every single time…"
"Not every time."
"Don't be self deprecating," Logan chastised, "you're remarkable Rory." It was a moment later when Rory and Logan both heard footsteps outside of their door and they both smiled at each other, knowing they had a few seconds before someone would be bursting into their bedroom.
"Mama!" Logan grinned as he sprinted towards them and jumped on the bed, his younger brother a few steps behind him.
"Come on up," Rory smiled as she pulled Liam up on the bed. "Does Grandma know you're up here?"
"Uh huh," Logan assured her. "'Iam want you."
The elder Logan smiled, his son couldn't quite enunciate the L in Liam and he thought it as adorable, "come here buddy," Logan took Liam into his arms, "I missed you guys. Were you good for Mama in the car?"
"Ya ya ya," Liam smiled.
"I don't believe you," he laughed as he tickled his two year old and received the exact response he expected. "You guys gonna be good boys this weekend?"
"Pwomise," Logan assured his father as he climbed on Rory's stomach, "mama, bounce me!"
Rory smiled as she instead chose to tickle Logan and received guttural laughter from the little boy at the same time as Liam was receiving the same treatment from his father. This is why she had been so mad. She didn't want Logan to miss out on these moments. They were so busy in their regular life in the city that when they were finally together for a few days, or in this case, a few weeks, she wanted them to just enjoy it together. She wanted to make memories, she wanted to see photos and think back to all the fun, or possibly stupid things they had done, not think about how someone was missing because of a work call. "Alright boys," she laughed as Liam calmed down ever so slightly, "it's time to TICKLE DADDY!"
