Hours later, it is now nightfall and the group is just looking at the coffins anxiously as they decide on if they should resurrect them.

"Should we actually bring them back?" MG is first to ask the question on everyone's minds, sounding both confused and curious.

"Better question. Do any of us think this spell is actually going to work?" Jed asks a different question, claiming that it's better than MG's and they all think about this for a while until Dorian comes back with the knife.

"Here's the knife, the moon is almost high enough, and we have a spell that we don't even know will actually work or not. I have to say, the odds of this working seem very bleak right now." Dorian expresses his uncertainty in the entire ordeal after placing the knife on one of the tables.

"Think positive, Mr. Williams. The spell will work. Hope had enough faith in herself to not just rewrite a death spell in reverse and a resurrection spell on her own, but enough faith to believe that it will actually work. That's all we need to do. If we put all of our strength and faith in the spell then it will work." Josie gives an inspiring speech about the fact that they just have to believe in themselves and the spell so it could work after demanding that Dorian think positively.

Penelope just stares at Josie in an admiring way, clearly amused and impressed by her optimism.

"She's right. So, who do we bring back first?" Freya agrees with Josie's words then wonders who they bring back first.

"Heads, it's her mother, tails it's her father." Kaleb finds an easy solution as he takes a coin from his pocket then looks around the room.

"Make your bets." Kaleb advises that they make a bet on where the coin is going to land.

"All in favor of heads?" Lizzie looks around the room as she raises her hand to see who else will.

Several people raise their hands in favor of agreeing with Lizzie's vote.

"All in favor of tails?" Josie raises her hand while looking around the room and the people who agreed with Lizzie put their hands down and the rest of the room raise their hands, agreeing with Josie.

"There you have it. Let's see what the coin says." Lizzie tells Kaleb that he has the bets then suggests they see what the coin says.

Kaleb flips the coin in the air and when it lands back in his hand, he places it on the back of his other hand then removes his one.

"Hmm, heads it is." Kaleb announces that it landed on heads, meaning that they'll be bringing Hayley back first.

"I would say we flip the coin again in order to see who will be performing the spell but I don't think that would work." Landon voices his opinion on flipping the coin again, using it as a way to figure out who the witch performing the spell would be but he realizes that it wouldn't even work.

"I want to do it. I want to bring back her mother." Lizzie claims that she wants to be the witch who resurrects Hope's mother and the room looks shocked by this but they don't say anything against it.

"Well, the moon will be high enough in an hour. We should prepare." Josie reminds her twin that the full moon will be high enough to channel in an hour and suggests that they prepare for it which has Lizzie nod in agreement.

Josie helps Lizzie in setting up everything needed for the spell while Lizzie studies the completed spell.

"Alright, let's do this." Lizzie siphons some magic from the school then grabs the knife and confidently walks over to the coffin that holds Hayley's body.

"Let's all pray this actually works." Jed mutters that the rest of the group prays that the spell will work and they nod in agreement.

Josie kneels on the ground and places her hands together, actually praying in order to help it work.

No one questions Josie, instead letting her continue what she's doing, and Lizzie starts chanting the spell that Hope created, channeling magic from the knife as well as starting to siphon it since her hands are glowing red.

Lizzie's chants get louder as she casts the spell and after a few moments, you can see black veins creep up her arms, going all the way to her neck, almost consuming her face as she continues to perform the dark resurrection spell before it slowly starts vanishing, going back down until it's gone.

Lizzie eventually gasps in relief as she stops the spell but shortly after the spell is done, she drops the knife and just falls to the ground, being rendered unconscious.

"Lizzie." Josie crawls over to Lizzie, as she's still kneeling, having heard her sister fall to the ground.

"Lizzie?" Josie starts shaking her twin to see if she'll wake up, obviously concerned for her.

After a few moments, Lizzie slowly stirs awake and starts to grab her head.

"Ow. Did it work?" Lizzie expresses the fact that her head's in pain before wondering if the spell worked.

"Well, her body is no longer gray but it's still a fifty/fifty on if it actually worked though." Rafael points out that although her body is no longer gray, there's still uncertainty of whether it really worked.

Josie helps Lizzie to her feet and after a couple of minutes, Hayley's eyes flutter open as she gasps awake but then her eyes close again a second later.

"Hope is just under the age of sixteen and she managed to create a very powerful resurrection spell that actually works. I'm annoyed and impressed at the same time." MG reveals his feeling towards the spell actually working after muttering that Hope has just created a successful spell despite being under the age of sixteen.

"The moon is still up, we should bring back her father. Now that we know the spell truly works." Josie shows her determination in the fact that they bring Klaus back now, since it's been revealed that the spell works.

"I'll perform the spell this time." Freya immediately agrees with Josie and states that she will do the spell as she places the spiral with the completed spell on the end table next to the chair she's sitting on.

"I feel like I deserve a high five or something." Lizzie mutters a belief that she deserves a high five but decides to elaborate why when she sees the room look at her in confusion.

"You guys do realize that I'm younger than Hope, right? I'm only fourteen, about to be fifteen in a week, and I just successfully brought someone back from the dead. I feel that I deserve… a banana split. So, whoever wants to get me one of those for my birthday, do, feel free to get one." Lizzie reminds the room that she's not even fifteen yet and just resurrected someone and claims that someone should get her a banana split for her on her birthday, as she feels that she deserves one.

"Can you even wrap a banana split?" Landon whispers a question to Penelope, wanting to know if you can wrap a banana split causing her to side-eye him then simply roll her eyes, ignoring his question.

Freya walks over to Klaus' coffin after picking up the knife and sighs deeply before she starts the spell.

The spell begins again, this time with Freya reciting it and the spell takes the just same amount of time it took for Lizzie to do it, except there's no signs of the dark magic making its way up to Freya's face like Lizzie had experienced, nor does she pass out from the spell's effects.

"It's done. Now, we wait." Freya looks and sounds slightly exhausted from performing the spell as she announces that the spell is complete then claims that they wait until the two of them wake up.

Lizzie and Josie take the time to simply relax, well mostly doze off, while everyone else is mainly reading, Marcel and Rebekah have started using the chess table that's in the library as MG, Rafael, Jed, Davina, Kol, and Penelope play Go Fish.

An hour passes when Hayley starts stirring awake again then gives a slightly heavier gasp as her body realizes that she's alive, and this causes her to sit up in her coffin.

She looks around the room in confusion, continuing to breathe pretty heavily.

"Hayley." Rebekah gets her attention which has Hayley stare at her, still looking confused.

"Rebekah? Where am I?" Hayley acknowledges Rebekah with a questioning tone then continues to look around the room as she wonders where she is.

"What happened?" Hayley then looks down at her clothes as well as sees that she's in a coffin, still very much confused by everything.

"We'll explain everything but first, let's get you new clothes." Freya assures Hayley that they will explain everything that's going on but determines that they get her new clothes first and Hayley just slowly nods in agreement to this, still trying to figure things out.

Rebekah and Freya help Hayley out of the coffin and lead her out of the library in order to get her showered and a change of clothes.

"I'm going to head back to the attic to see what's in those chests." Emma makes the random announcement of going back to the attic, expressing her curiosity of what's actually in the chests then leaves to do so.

"I'll go too. You know, in case she wants to bring them here. Also because I'm curious as well." Roman follows Emma out of the library after saying that he'll go to the attic with her before voicing his curiosity of the chests as well.

Moments after the five of them left, Klaus starts to make movement, then opens his eyes before they close two seconds later, just like Hayley did earlier but none of them noticed this.

However, unlike Hayley, mere moments after he starts making movements, he jerks awake in his coffin, similar to what Hayley did before.

Klaus' eyes wander around the room in confusion, just like when Hayley woke up.

Klaus then scans the people in the room, trying to process where he is and who he's surrounded by.

"Kol? Marcellus?" Klaus looks at Kol and Marcel, the two of them seeming to be the only ones that he recognizes fully at the moment.

"Welcome back." Marcel simply welcomes him back as he continues to look around the room in confusion.

"Where am I?" Klaus decides to ask where he is, implying that he's still processing the fact that he's alive.

Before anyone can respond, Roman returns from the attic, holding clothes and freezes in his tracks when he sees Klaus sitting up in his coffin but Klaus doesn't really seem to be acknowledging him at the moment.

"These were in the wardrobe." Roman hands the clothes in his arms to Marcel, the clothes clearly belonging to Klaus and Marcel takes them from his arms.

Kol quits playing Go Fish so he can help Klaus out of his coffin then the two of them, along with Marcel, leave the room in order to get him cleaned and changed.

"Whoever said Hope wasn't intelligent with her witchcraft I feel should get punched in the face." MG compliments Hope by calling her intelligent as he reveals his belief of a person who doubted Hope's magic capabilities should get punched.

Lizzie, taking his words to heart, stands to her feet, walks over to Jed and just punches him in the face with an impressive right hook then punches herself so hard, she knocks herself to the ground, leaving the entire room confused.

"Lizzie, what the hell?" Penelope steals the question Josie was about to ask as Lizzie stands to her feet then shrugs.

"What, MG said to punch someone who didn't think Hope was intelligent with her magic, so I punched myself in the face." Lizzie explains why she just punched herself, revealing that she didn't believe Hope was intelligent.

"And you punched Jed because…" Josie stares questioningly at her sister as she never said that Jed was another person who didn't think Hope was intelligent.

"I had to build confidence to punch myself in the face. And for fun." Lizzie adds that she also punched Jed for fun after admitting that punching him was to boost her confidence in whacking herself.

Josie rolls her eyes at this explanation in order to not look amused by Lizzie's words or encourage her twin's behavior.

The four girls return to the library moments later, with Hayley seeming a lot better yet still looks confused.

"Turns out the trunks in the attic, or at least one of them, was filled with a bunch of her clothes." Emma confesses that one of the trunks in the attic was just filled with Hayley's clothes.

"The second trunk?" Dorian just decides to question what the other trunk held.

"Shoes. Just a bunch of shoes for both men and women." Emma replies to the question, claiming that there were a bunch of both men and women's' shoes in the second trunk, which explains why Hayley has shoes on.

"Where's Nik?" Rebekah seems horrified that Klaus' coffin is empty but Hayley quickly looks at Rebekah.

"Klaus? Is he here?" Hayley recognizes the name even though the way she looked at everyone in the room made it clear that she's still processing being in the land of the living and asks if he's there.

"Kol and Marcel helped him get cleaned up. They should return soon." Davina eases Rebekah's fears by saying that Klaus is awake, as well as being with Kol and Marcel then assures Hayley they'll return soon, these words seemingly easing Hayley's nerves.

Low-and-behold, just seconds after Davina says this, the three men enter the room with Klaus immediately noticing that Hayley is in the room.

Despite the fact that both of them seem to want to hug each other, they just give the other a weak smile instead.

"So, how are we back on the land of the living?" Hayley is the first to ask a question, as she wonders how her and Klaus are alive while Klaus seems to have fully processed that he's at the boarding school.

"Hey Ric. Hayley, we're at the Salvatore Boarding School. Um, where's Hope?" Klaus greets Alaric then tells Hayley where they are before wondering where Hope is, not seeing her in the room.

"That's just one part of the many things that we have to update you on as both of you have been dead for two years." Alaric chuckles nervously as he admits that they have a lot to update them on and confesses that they've been dead for two years.

Klaus and Hayley stare at each other in shock, implying that they didn't know how long they were dead.

"Two years?" Hayley's voice is soft as she questions two years causing Alaric and the Mikaelson family to nod in agreement.

"Luckily, Hope was kind enough to write journals that update her life for you." Alaric just places one of the boxes they took from the wardrobe in the attic on the table in front of Klaus and Hayley, stating that Hope wrote them journals.

Klaus and Hayley exchange glances again before opening the box and seeing a bunch of journals.

"Yeah, there's more boxes where that came from. She apparently wrote a lot." Marcel chooses to add that there are more boxes than just the one in front of them, which seems to help them notice all of the other boxes that look the same as the one in front of them, scattered across the floor.

"It appears that she dated all of these boxes." Klaus points out that Hope dated all of the boxes then looks for the box with the latest date on it.

"These contain her first journals. I'm assuming since this is the earliest date I've seen, and this box must contain the last of her journals as it has the most recent date." Klaus determines the first and last box that Hope filled then organizes the other ones.

The rest of the room just let Hope's parents read the journals that Hope wrote for them, the journals helping Klaus and Hayley realize that Hope never intended on letting her parents go after they died.

"This entry explains how she kept me in her possession. She swapped out my body with a singed, wax clone before the crescent part of the funeral." Hayley scooches closer to Klaus, as her and Klaus are reading them together, in order to point to an entry about how Hope had her mother in her possession for the past two years.

They go back to silently reading the journals, both seem to be entertained by what their daughter chose to update them on.

Klaus and Hayley finish the first box of journals but don't open the second box, instead they stare at Alaric and their family members.

"We'll read these journals another time. Where's our daughter?" Klaus wonders where Hope is again after claiming that him and Hayley will read the rest of the journals on a later date.

Although very reluctant, Alaric takes a deep breath then proceeds to tell them everything from what they've been dealing with to what happened last month to everything that they have recently discovered and learned within the last several hours, including the entire gas station incident, which shocks Emma as she wasn't at the gas station with them.

Klaus and Hayley are processing all of this information and after a moment, Lizzie decides to speak up.

"If you're interested, Hope has video diaries to go along with the journals." Lizzie informs them of the fact Hope has video diaries as well, this abrupt statement supposedly trying to lighten the mood, which can be determined just by the tone that Lizzie used.

Much like Rebekah when she was first informed, Klaus looks murderous at the fact Hope is missing and that the people responsible mutilated her but he reins in his anger, most likely to be more helpful.

"So, he's the only person in this room that can be remotely helpful and the only reason he isn't is because of a spell we can't remove? Why haven't you just removed him from the field all together?" Klaus motions to Roman as he looks for reassurance of the fact he's the only one who can help but at the same time, can't, before he wonders why none of them have killed him yet.

"Yeah, I can't even pretend to be surprised by this question." Roman emphasizes the word 'pretend' as he voices the fact that he's unsurprised by Klaus' words.

"We need all the help we can get. Regardless of who, or how helpful, they are." Marcel steps in and defends Roman by saying that the only reason he's alive is solely because they need all the help they can possibly get despite the fact that Roman can't give them anything of importance.

Roman looks surprised that Marcel just defended him against Klaus even though Marcel had been too busy accusing him of being responsible for Hope's kidnapping earlier in the day.

"Hayley, are you okay?" Freya calls out to Hayley by asking if she's okay since she still seems out of it.

"I'm… still processing everything. Maybe you should have passed some alcohol around before dropping all of that information." Hayley hesitates before saying that she's still processing everything they told her then humorously suggests that they should have given them booze beforehand.

"That's what I said." Roman agrees with Hayley's words which has Antoinette look at him, confused.

"You didn't say shit." Antoinette reminds Roman that he didn't say anything and he fakes gasping in shock after he places a hand in front of his mouth.

"Does saying it in my head not count?" Roman stares at Antoinette with a questioning look as he sarcastically wonders if saying things in his head counts and Antoinette nudges him playfully as she rolls her eyes.

"I hate you sometimes." Antoinette claims that she hates Roman sometimes and he just smiles at her in response.

"I know." Roman whispers that he already knows this information as he also mouths it and Antoinette tries not to look amused by him.

"At the very least, do we know where this slushie is?" Klaus turns the topic to the slushie Hope had a month ago, since it disappeared, either before or at the same time as Hope.

"Nope. It wasn't even in any of the gas station's garbage cans." Rafael denies the fact that they found the slushie, revealing that Hope didn't throw it out at the gas station.

"Well it was a month ago, I don't think that gas stations keep garbage bags in the cans for very long." Josie reminds them that it was a month ago since Hope had the slushie as she makes the assumption that the garbage bags were changed in that time.

"Wait, Mr. Williams interrogated the clerk before a body was found. What did the clerk have to say?" MG focuses his attention on Dorian as he was the one who interrogated the gas station clerk then he questions what the clerk had to say.

"I showed him a picture of Hope and he recognized her almost immediately. Said that she paid for the gas at the counter, along with a slushie then went out to fill up her car, answered her phone, finished filling her car before putting her phone away then got in the car, with the slushie, and drove off." Dorian explains everything that the clerk told him about Hope, this new information confusing them.

"She paid for gas at the counter? Anything else?" Alaric is the first to voice his confusion in the fact Hope paid in the station then wonders if the clerk said anything else.

"He said that Hope paid for it with cash and that the photo I showed him didn't have her entire outfit. He claimed that she was wearing an over-sized leather jacket but took it off and placed it in the backseat of the car before driving off." Dorian gives them more information that the clerk told him, keeping them confused.

"I mean, it makes sense that she'd pay at the counter. She probably had to use the bathroom then realized she wanted a slushie, which you obviously can't pay for at the gas pump but why would she pay in cash before she put the gas in the car?" Penelope claims that it makes sense for Hope to pay at the counter, especially if she was already in the building yet doesn't understand why she would pay before she put gas in the car.

"Did he say anything about seeing a necklace around her neck?" Josie immediately asks if the clerk said something about seeing her wearing a necklace and Dorian nods in agreement.

"He did see her wearing a necklace. He also said that she kept fiddling with it when she was filling the car with gas while on the phone. Another thing he told me was that he'd be cooperative in giving me access to the security footage if I came back with a cop." Dorian confirms that the clerk did see her wearing a necklace then reveals some more information.

"I'll call Matt." Alaric pulls out his phone to call Matt, as he's a cop, but before he can dial his number, Matt appears in the doorway of the library with something in his hands.

"I know I'm good at calling people but I didn't know I was that good." Alaric makes a humorous remark about him calling people then puts his phone back in his pocket.

"You're still alive? And a cop now?" Klaus seems very surprised that Matt is still alive but it turns to confusion when he sees Matt in a police uniform.

"That's a story for another time. The clerk at the gas station gave me the security footage of it before he left." Matt believes that informing Klaus of what's been going on is a thing to be discussed at a different time then holds up what's in his hand, revealing that the clerk gave him the security footage for the gas station.
