So, this is just an author's note… I windy one. I know I just dashed your dreams and ruined all your hopes! So, you may be wondering to yourself and thinking, "If she's not here to give us a chapter why even bother posting at all?' I know, I know… I'm a horrible person from top to bottom. However, I do have some good news depending on how you look at it.
I did mention that I was wanting to fledge off and take a whack at an original novel of my own creation. The torture! The absolute torture! Writing fanfictions are easy but writing your own bullshit ain't. For years, even before I left, I had been coming up with this story. I found it when I was in a deep dark spot, which thankfully I'm no longer a part of. However, this is how I see writing original work compared to fanfiction.
A novel is a sketchbook. Fanfiction is a coloring book. Let that sit for a moment. Sketchbook vs. coloring book. I got tired of coloring something already made and I wanted to color something that I made instead. Which sounds more fun? Hmm?
The point of this waffling is that I have my first chapter up another site. No, it's not fictionpress. That was a dead end. Bad. I broke down. I broke down so hard that I went to Web Novel. It's called Submersive. Submerged was taken… Dammit! You can go there and type in the title or you can look at my profile for the link. You might see Higanbana87 as that's my Google.
So, just so you know. The story is a romance, drama, mystery, fantasy, with a tiny pinch of horror. And mermaids... And mermen of course. Modern day fairy tale.
