I don't own either Naruto or Star Trek.

Some of my plot bunnies inspire me to create art for them. this one was inspired by some art I did.
Yeah. Weird.

Not quite crack-fic, but definitely overpowered Naruto.

Borg Naruto

.

The phaser beams lanced deeply into the Borg Cube and the Queen mentally frowned at the higher-than-expected damage that the attacks were causing. A mental command caused the patterns of the Hive to change as she moved her Primary Loci from the center of the Assault Cube to one of the nine Spheres that she had ordered constructed, Spheres that used technology appropriated from one of the craft that had been captured from Species 8032, a reptilian humanoid group that in their own primitive tongue referred to themselves as the Na'kuhl.

Settling herself into Sphere 1, the Queen winced as an uncontrolled cascade began digging deeper into the sheltering Cube. At her command, all nine Spheres began to power up, ready to launch, but then the damage suddenly increased. The launching tunnel cracked and the Queen triggered the launch sequence, the doors at the end of the tunnel retracting as her Sphere accelerated, intending to get clear so that the Chronal Distortion Drive could be brought online without risking catastrophic reality re-writing and self-deletion caused by interactions with external masses.

The other Spheres followed, ready to spread out into a protective formation upon clearing the tunnel, but the damage that had already cracked the launch tunnel suddenly worsened. Sphere 1 escaped, but the next two Spheres detonated as near-relatavistic shrapnel pierced their power cores, turning them into expanding clouds of plasma. The Queen felt the following two Spheres try to slow in order to bring their weapons to bear on the sudden obstruction, but their efforts were futile, resulting only in their destruction and as they exploded, the destruction of all but the last Sphere as they plunged into the growing wreckage.

Sphere 9 seemed to ripple away in a direction that the Queen hadn't encountered before as the explosions magnetic flux harmonised with the Chronal Distortion Drive, forcing it to activate in a manner it had never been designed to, exotic radiations briefly flooding the area around it and causing all the Drones to cease functioning, then it was gone.

The Queen turned her attention back to her own Sphere, noting with satisfaction that it had made it through the attacking fleet and was in position to activate the drive.

The Federation fleet itself was still showing a lack of cohesion, obviously their communications net had proven insufficient to the task placed upon them. Only one ship was actively trying to intercept, but the Queen ignored it. Federation ships lacked Chronal Distortion Drives and the only way it could be a threat was if it somehow maneuvered to follow the Sphere on its exact positional vector.

Since the chances of that were miniscule, the Queen looked ahead, her mind reaching out through the sensors to feel the forming of the Chronometric Shroud that would carry them back to before the Federation had even been thought of.

The Borg would win.

Resistance would be futile.

Humanity's biological and technological distinctiveness would be incorporated into their own.

Humanity would be assimilated.

.

Sphere 9 rippled into existance above a world that did not appear in its internal databanks, under a night sky that did not match anything in its navigational databanks. The velocity carried over from its transition sent it hurtling through the atmosphere, barely missing a towering plant that almost hummed with a form of energy it had never encountered before, then it slammed into the ground at an angle.

Between the energy shields, the structural integrity arrays, the reinforced hull-form and the decaying shreds of the Chronometric Shroud that still flickered around it, the Sphere survived the impact, although the first bounce carved out a large valley while the second one, at a different angle due to the malfunctioning drive system, buried the Sphere underground, pushing up a large cliff in the process.

Once settled, the Sphere ran through its programming, trying to find a solution for the situation it was in, but the lack of Organic Componants meant that it was unable to evolve any instructions that would solve its problems, problems which included energy-transmission fluids leaking on several of its most highly-protected cores, cores which held the very essence of the Borg's normal activities.

"Ugh, this place stinks!"

Naruto grumbled to himself as he crawled down the disused drainage tunnel. He had found it by accident and had gotten turned around in the darkness, unable to remember exactly where he had been or how he had got there. However, his young mind had seized on the fact that the tunnels had been made by someone which meant that they had to go somewhere and once he found that point, he would find out where he was and how to get back to the Academy to claim the prize for hiding the longest.

His ruminations on his inevitable victory were cut short as the crumbling stone which formed the floor of the tunnel suddenly gave out from underneath him, pitching him into a deep hole. Although he bounced off the steep, water-smoothed sides trather than falling straight down, it was still enough to knock him out and he didn't feel the final impact against a curved sheet of metal, an impact that shattered both his legs, one arm and broke his left cheek, one shard of bone puncturing his eye.

However, the impact triggered something.

"Urgh, what happened?"

[Subject designated Uzumaki Naruto sustained severe damage in incident. Damage corrected. Energy symbiont removed and placed in virtual environment to power Sphere repairs]

Naruto blinked, then froze. A long, slow blinked showed that his right eye was working normally, but the view from his left eye was unusual. Not only was he still able to see the odd pipes and machines around him even when he tried to close it, he also saw brief tags that popped up linked to outlines of what he was looking at. Labels such as Power Conduit 7G56T153 and Support Strut V15L23S34 would appear and then vanish again as his attention moved elsewhere.

"Where am I?"

[Subject designated Uzumaki Naruto is located in Assimilation Chamber 3 of Sphere 9, deployed from Cube 001]

"Freaking out here!" Naruto panicked as the not-voice echoed through his head, then he paused as the overwhelming emotions suddenly receded. "What just happened?"

[Subject designated Uzumaki Naruto was undergoing reduction of capability due to emotional imbalance. Implants have restored balance]

Naruto looked round as he stepped out of the small alcove in which he had been standing, then he froze at the sight of the next alcove along where a small sphere filled with clear liquid hovered, in which something wriggled.

"What's that?"

[Cloned biological componant for sphere derived from DNA of Subject designated Uzumaki Naruto. Componant will raise decision-making ability to 1.7% of optimal level]

"What are you?" Naruto asked, looking around for the source of the voice.

[We are the Borg. You are in command]

"What?" Naruto frowned. "Me? Why?"

[Subject designated Uzumaki Naruto is currently the first new organic aspect of the Borg. Access to Queen is not available. Command protocols dictate senior unit takes command until communication is re-established]

"Wow!" Naruto yelled. "I'm in charge! Wahoo! Erm, in charge of what?"

[Instigating download]

Naruto's single organic eye opened wide, then he collapsed as data flooded into his mind.

"Ow, that hurt." He groaned. "What do I do now?"

.

Sarutobui Hiruzen snapped awake, rolling to his feet with a speed better suited to a shinobi half his age.

"Hello, Jiji!" A familiar voice said in greeting and Hiruzen frowned as he looked around, internally pulsing his chakra to ensure that it wasn't a dream or a genjutsu.

"Naruto? Where are we?"

"The Sphere." Naruto said as he stepped into view and Hiruzen felt his heart miss a beat at the sight of metal obviously replacing part of Naruto's face and the mechanical hand protruding from his sleeve. "I need your advice, jiji. We need your advice. That's why I had you brought here."

Hiruzen looked around at the mechanical surroundings lit by a green-tinged light.

"Naruto, what happened and how did you find this place?"

"Well, it's kinda a long story." Naruto said, rubbing the back of his head in an action that reassured Hiruzen with its normality. "You see, I was exploring a tunnel and…"

}-{

"…and so I asked Borg to bring you here to talk." Naruto finished as the Kyuubi watched from a giant screen nearby. "For starters, what's with the fuzzball who used to be inside me?"

The Kyuubi growled and Hiruzen steeled himself for a long conversation.

"I had intended to tell you when you became a Genin, but since you've found out about the most important part, you deserve to know. You aren't the first Jinchuuriki of the Kyuubi."

"Mito and Kushina." The Kyuubi growled and Hiruzen nodded.

"Quite. Mito held the Kyuubi until just before she died, when she transferred it to her niece, Kushina. She in turn contained it until it escaped eight years ago."

"When she gave birth to you." The Kyuubi interjected.

"Wait, my mom was named Kushina?" Naruto asked excitedly. "So who was my dad?"

"The Toad-riding bastard who sealed me in you." The Kyuubi growled before Hiruzen could try to stop him. "you call him The Fourth Hokage."

"The Fourth was my dad?" Naruto gasped and Hiruzen nodded.

"He was. And if anyone finds out, all those who hated him will send hundreds of assassins to try and kill you."

Naruto paled.

.

.

Naruto closed his front door behind him and looked round. When he didn't see anyone looking at him, he relaxed and the left side of his face seemed to ripple as the holographic disguise disengaged, revealing the streamlined sensor array which had replace his eye. The metal-and-sensor construct covered the upper half of his face from the side of his nose and round to replace his ear where three lines of mesh showed the positioning of audio sensors.

A similar ripple marked the transformation of his left hand into a limb of alloy and plastic, smooth hinges providing at least as much dexterity as the replaced organic limb had provided while a small slit in the back of the hand marked the location of an energy weapon that could fire a destructive beam or project a plasma blade that could slice through almost anything. Small bumps on the outer arm between the wrist and the elbow held force projectors that could create energy shields in a variety of shapes.

"One to transport." He said, despite not needing to vocalise his command and he vanished in a pillar of green sparks, reappearing in a large bay where a screen showed a view of a giant forest.

"Kurama?"

"Ah, I hear something calling me." A voice rumbled and a fanged red-furred face appeared in the screen. "I see you have returned, brat."

"I have." Naruto replied calmly. "You are well?"

"You have given me a whole world to play in as I wish." Kurama shrugged. "One where I need not fear being enslaved by the Uchiha as they cannot come here. And should I get bored, I can ask Borg for tales of the places beyond the stars and even recreations of them that I can interact with. Yes, I am well."

"I am glad to hear that and I apologise for interrupting you." Naruto replied, causing Kurama to grin, then vanish.

[The secondary beings in the original control matrix have been analysed and reconstituted ready for holographic reformation. Subjects are designated Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina. Subjects are biological projenitors of Unit Prime as confirmed by Hokage Sarutobi Hiruzen]

Naruto nodded, a full year of interfacing with the concealed starship allowing him to understand it.

"My parents… you can make them live again?"

[Subjects Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina will be limited to manifestation within the Sphere. Communications may be maintained during Unit Prime's actions beyond the Sphere]

"Do it." Naruto commanded and two humanoid figures coalesced in front of him. "Oh, and send a message to Jiji about this. He may want to come."

.

The tiny communicator that Hiruzen had allowed to be implanted into his ear gave a gentle chime and Hiruzen reached up to tap his earlobe to signal that he was listening.

[Copies of Namikaze Minato and Uzumaki Kushina have been reconstituted from the construct used to cage Kurama. Prime asks if you wish to meet them]

"Bring me down at eight PM unless I say otherwise first." Hiruzen whispered so quietly that even someone standing next to him would have been unable to hear it.

Hinata activated her Byakugan as quietly as she could and looked at Naruto.

The first time she had seen him with her special sight, she had panicked and run to her father. He had taken a look himself before taking her to meet with the Hokage who in turn had reassured them that it was merely a very unusual technology-oriented Kekkei Genkai and nothing to be concerned about.

He also pointed out that the new radios using undetectable frequencies and which could cover the entire continent (giving Konoha's intelligence service an overwhelming advantage) and more were derived from the same bloodlimit, something which had given Naruto a regular and respectable income as well as putting him at risk if word got out.

Hiashi had addressed his entire clan privately about that soon after.

Now, Hinata watched him curiously. Somehow, his eye had given Naruto an almost Sharingan-like ability to copy and understand jutsu while his awareness of people's positions relative to himself was on the same general level as the Byakugan.

He had already been one of the top two students until recently, then he had taken the lead, leaving Uchiha Sasuke seething at how he had been left far behind.

Hinata let her eyes return to normal as Iruka-Sensei began handing out the tests. Soon, she would hopefully be on his team and then she would be able to ask him about his odd abilities.

Naruto's Abilites

Effective omniscience. In-built sensors give him awareness of everything in a 360 degree sphere around him for a distance of a mile or more. Cloaked remote recon platforms can be deployed by the Sphere to keep track of people of interest, he knows exactly where both Tsunade and Jiraiya are. Furthermore, his left eye allows him to use most of the electromagnetic spectrum as well as advanced energy scanning, meaning he can identify what technique is about to be used from the chakra flows of the shinobi in question. It also renders him functionally immune to genjutsus.

Inbuilt communications. Naruto can access any communicator built using Borg-Tech. Said communicators are highly prized by Konoha Shinobi as they cannot be jammed and have a range measured incountries, allowing them to get real-time approval for mission adjustments.

Transportation. Naruto has access to Borg beaming technology. However, the underground position of the Sphere limits the range to a twenty miles or so at first. The eventual deployment of a relay atop the Hokage Monument and satellites placed in orbit increase the range to a couple of hundred miles and planetary respectively.

Intelligence. Naruto is linked to the databanks of the Sphere, giving him perfect recall. The Sphere (using biocomputer-units derived from his DNA) can run thousands of analysis routines per second, meaning he can plot out an entire fight even as the first punch is being thrown.

Energy weapons. Naruto can fire powerful beams from his left hand and deploy deflector shields to protect himself.

Agility. Naruto has antigravity units built into his legs, allowing him to make impossible jumps and even fly.
