A/N: Just a heads up, this chapter is significantly shorter. I tried to break it up into the three act structure that the film more or less had, and this is how it turned out. Anyway, on with the show.
Rapunzel was the first to regain semi-consciousness, though her eyes refused to open. In the sea of black that was her vision, Rapunzel could just barely hear the other girls' voices.
"Bev."
"Yeah?"
"The bucket. Go get it."
"Oh, yeah."
Rapunzel heard footsteps walk away, followed by more speaking.
"Do you think she's ready for this?"
There was a palpable pause, followed by, "She better be able to."
Several moments later, the footsteps returned, and by now, Rapunzel was already piecing things together in her mind. Whatever these girls were planning, Beverly didn't actually want a part in it. Or maybe they were forcing her to?
"Get it together Beverly." Alexis' voice could be heard, and seconds later, Rapunzel felt something cold and wet splash her in the face. She finally found the strength to open her eyes, and found herself sitting in a chair, in nothing but her underwear and an undergarment covering her breasts. She tried to move, but quickly realized her hands were tied behind the chair, and looked up to see Alexis and Val smiling at her.
"Hello, Slayer!" Alexis laughed.
"What… did you do to me?" Rapunzel groggily asked.
"We just slipped you something… extra." Val smiled maniacally. "Don't worry, it'll wear off in about six hours."
"But by that time, you'll be dead." Alexis grinned, as she lowered a cup into a silver bucket of water, and splashed the rest of their captors. Rapunzel turned her head to the side, seeing Eugene, Mark, Ivan, and Kovacs all lined up next to her.
"Hello, boys! Lady." Alexis laughed, holding onto a switchblade knife.
"Eugene!" Rapunzel cried out, as Fitzherbert sputtered awake. "Are you alright?"
"Just fine." Flynn replied, giving her a playful smirk that betrayed his worry. "This brings back memories, doesn't it?"
"I don't know what kind of fucked up game this is, but it's gotta stop. Right now." Ivan said, trying to sound in control.
"Sorry, can't do that." Alexis crossed her arms and smiled smugly. "And it's not a game."
Rapunzel and the boys took the time to look around the room, seeing red pentagrams painted on the walls. In the middle of one of the symbols was a ram's skull with the words We Summon The Darkness spray painted under the pentagram's ring.
"You're the cult." Ivan and Rapunzel said at the same time, coming to the same realization.
"Listen, just let us go. We'll drive away; we never saw nothing." Mark bargained.
"That would be a good idea if I hadn't slashed your tires while you were passed out." Val gloated, as Alexis cackled. Ivan and Kovacs began screaming for help, while Mark simply shook his head.
"Try it a little louder honey." Val mocked.
"Just stop." Eugene told them. "It's no use. They brought us out here where no one else would hear us."
"Sounds like you're one of the smart ones." Alexis snarked. "But… we haven't been honest with you guys. See, all this shit… heavy metal, satanic cults, devil worship, we don't care about it. I think it's just a great big crock of shit."
"So wait, what the fuck is all this?" Kovacs asked, looking around the room.
"Is it fun, to be this stupid?" Val spoke out loud.
Rapunzel, Eugene, and Mark looked at each other, all having the same idea.
"You guys are making it look like a satanic cult." Mark realized.
"Well, I'll be fucked." Alexis smiled. "Color me impressed, because you must be the smart one in your little group."
"You-you killed all those people?" Kovacs stammered.
"No, that was another part of our congregation." Alexis shrugged. "But tonight's our turn. And next week, it'll be someone else's, and the next week, someone else's turn. Our reach is very far and wide, and it grows stronger every day, thanks to people like you."
Rapunzel's eyes narrowed in anger, and she strained against her bonds. She had to stop this, and she had to stop it now-
"Aw, trying to break free?" Alexis grinned mockingly, staring at her. "Yeah, we might have added something… extra to your drink."
Eugene's eyes widened in fear, looking over to Rapunzel. It only took a moment for both of them to realize that whatever the girls had done, it halted her enhanced strength.
"You're so fucking clueless." Ivan panted out.
"Oh, we're clueless?" Alexis laughed. "Because we're not the ones tied to chairs right now."
"We're not devil worshippers! None of us are!" Mark insisted, to the agreement of Ivan and Kovacs.
"Don't you get it? We don't give a fuck!" Val exclaimed.
"No, we don't." Alexis agreed. "You dress the part, you look the part, and then the news will film the rest for us. And once the public finds out there's been another satanic murder, they'll come to us for salvation because they want their soul saved."
"You sick fucks." Ivan sharply exhaled. "So what, you're just murdering people? Then lie to the whole country about it?"
"Doesn't matter if it's true." Alexis grinned. "It only matters if people believe it."
"And boy, do they believe it!" Vall chimed in, swinging a kitchen knife through the air.
Despite what the girls said about the extra drugging, Rapunzel continued to strain against her bonds, only to find she just couldn't.
"And the most beautiful thing about this is that your deaths are going to mean something." Alexis continued. "Your deaths are going to save the lives of hundreds if not thousands of people. I mean, how often does someone get to say they died for a good cause?"
"You sound just like that asshole preacher, John Henry Butler." Mark muttered, while shaking his head.
"You shut your fucking mouth, you little piece of shit!" Alexis yelled, making Rapunzel and Eugene lookup at her in interest. She knew that expression well; it was the face you make when defending someone you love. And if she was this enraged over Butler, did that mean…
Alexis calmed down, and grabbed the pentagram necklace Mark was still wearing.
"How about you do me a favor, and explain what this fucking thing is, huh?" Alexis asked.
"It's a symbol of expression."
"And what are you trying to express?"
"Defiance."
"Oh yeah? Defiance against what?" Alexis prodded. When Mark didn't answer, she said more harshly, "I asked you a fucking question!"
"People like you!" Mark spat.
"Oh, us?" Alexis mocked. "People who are trying to help others? Trying to spread Christ's word, that's what's wrong with the world?"
"If you really believed that, you wouldn't be doing this." Eugene groaned.
"What they mean is close minded and ignorant fuck heads that shit on anything they don't understand!" Ivan shouted.
"Ivan, Ivan, stop." Kovacs pleaded.
"Shut up." Alexis muttered, looking up at the ceiling. Ivan didn't listen, and kept ranting.
"What he means is hypocritical, lying pieces of shit-"
"Shut the fuck up."
"-that invent the belief system-"
"Ivan, shut it." Eugene hissed, having a bad feeling where this was going.
"-so they can persecute anyone who stands up against them-"
"Shut the fuck up! Shut the fuck up!" Alexis kept yelling, while Ivan kept shouting, until she finally drove her knife into Ivan's neck.
"Ah, fuck!" Ivan gasped out, as blood gushed from his wound. Kovacs and Mark stared at their friend in horror, while Eugene and Rapunzel turned their heads away from the grisly sight.
"I told you to shut the fuck up." Alexis shrugged. "That's better now, right? And you-"
Alexis got up in Mark's face again.
"Not so defiant now, are you?" Alexis taunted, pointing the switchblade at Mark's neck. "Nothing left to be defiant about, is there? So beg for forgiveness."
Mark didn't answer right away, so Alexis continued, becoming more angered as she did so.
"Beg for Christ's forgiveness, before I kill you." Alexis ordered. "Don't you want your soul to be saved?"
Mark still said nothing, and glared up at his captor.
"So be it." Alexis sneered, raising her knife for the kill. Rapunzel continued struggling against her bonds, knowing she couldn't break them, but she had to do something. She had to-
"Whoa whoa whoa, wait!" Beverly suddenly exclaimed, stepping forward.
"Jesus, what the Hell, Beverly?" Alexis groaned.
"I… I need to talk to you."
"About what?"
"Beverly, just shut the fuck up!" Val yelled.
"Just for a fucking second, okay?" Beverly insisted. "Alone, in the bathroom?"
"I'm right here, I can hear you fine!" Alexis scolded.
"Well, they're not going anywhere!" Beverly reasoned.
"Jesus. I knew you'd pull some shit like this." Val groaned, rolling her eyes.
"So go! Go! Fucking Hell!" Alexis shouted, ushering the two women out of the room.
"Jesus Christ, they killed him!" Kovacs sobbed. "They fucking killed him!"
"What did they do to you?" Eugene asked Rapunzel.
"I don't know." Rapunzel sighed. "But whatever it was, my strength is gone for six hours."
"Oh God, what are we going to do?" Kovacs whimpered.
"Kovacs, keep it together!" Mark told his friend. "You see my belt over there? See if you can cut the tape with the spikes."
While the captives were working on setting themselves free, Beverly, Alexis, and Val went to the bathroom, where Val sat on the toilet.
"Okay, what's so fucking important?" Alexis asked, holding up her arms on either side of the doorframe.
"I wanna do it." Beverly requested. "Let me kill them."
"Bullshit." Val rolled her eyes in disbelief. "Get the fuck outta here."
"No, I'm serious!" Beverly insisted. "When they were talking, it just confirmed everything you taught me. They have to die."
Alexis smirked, and began laughing.
"Oh, Bev, and here I thought you were getting cold feet."
"No. That was all part of my act." Beverly said nervously. Alexis grinned even bigger, and thought for a moment.
"Alright, here." Alexis shrugged, before handing Beverly the knife. "So here's how it's going to go: the dumb one gets it in the neck, like the big one. Little Drummer Boy gets his throat slit, and Arianna gets stabbed in the side of the head."
"And what about Flynn?" Beverly asked.
"You go in from behind and stab him in the heart, so it looks like he killed his girlfriend and the three others, before offing himself. Classic murder suicide." Alexis smiled cruelly. "Perfect, and easy."
Just then, the three girls heard a crash, causing Alexis to narrow her eyes. They all quickly walked out of the bathroom, seeing their attempted victims, partially dressed and heading for the front door, desperately trying to escape.
"Dammit! Beverly, you bitch! Give me the fucking knife!" Alexis yelled, taking the switchblade from Beverly right as Mark got the front door open. Kovacs and Eugene moved to protect Mark, but Alexis slashed in a wide arc, slicing Kovacs arm and creating a huge gash. Eugene brought his arm up, just barely blocking the switchblade from hacking at his face but punctured his forearm in the process, while Val slammed the door shut. The blonde brought her own knife down, but Rapunzel stepped in and grabbed her wrists. Unfortunately, she found that even holding back a normal young woman was difficult for her without the Slayer's strength. Time to think smarter.
Rapunzel brought her knee up, striking Val between the legs, and grabbed onto Eugene.
"Let's go!"
The four captives raced through the house, where they came across the kitchen. Rapunzel noticed a frying pan sitting on the stove, and a grin formed on her face. Eugene smiled at her as well, as she picked it up.
"Get them somewhere safe." Rapunzel ordered, turning around. "I'll try to buy you enough time."
Eugene had a pained look on his face, but reluctantly nodded. Now wasn't the time to argue.
As Eugene led Mark and Kovacs out of the kitchen and into the nearby pantry, Alexis and Val ran in, only to have Rapunzel swing her frying pan. The makeshift weapon connected with Alexis' face, hard enough to create a bruise on her forehead and draw blood, but not enough to knock her out. Val attempted to stab her, but Rapunzel blocked with the pan and hit her with the frying pan as well, knocking her down for a moment. At that point, Beverly entered the room, and Rapunzel raised the frying pan in the air, similar to how one would hold onto a baseball bat. But when the Slayer looked into Beverly's eyes, she saw that same expression. Guilt, mixed with remorse.
Rapunzel's grip slackened on the frying pan, and she lowered her arms. Unfortunately, that was just enough time for Alexis to get back up and sink the switchblade into her shoulder. Rapunzel groaned in pain, falling to her knees, while Alexis and Val tried forcing the pantry door open.
"Shit!" Alexis yelled, banging on the wooden door. "Open this door!"
"Fuck you!" Kovacs shouted from inside the cellar.
"Alex, move out of the way!" Val ordered, before running and body slamming into the door. Still, the door wouldn't budge, and Val quite possibly dislocated her shoulder.
"Open the door boys." Alexis demanded, eyeing Rapunzel, who was still kneeling on the floor. "We have your girlfriend, Flynn. Come out here right now, or we'll gut her like a fish!"
Rapunzel's eyes widened, and she turned back towards the door.
"Don't do it, Eugene!" Rapunzel called out. "They're going to kill us all anyway!"
"Bitch, shut up!" Val snarled, kicking the princess of Corona in the face.
In the cellar, Eugene was torn. He wanted to save Rapunzel, but she did have a point. None of them were in shape to fight, and the girls would surely kill them, no matter what happened. So, ignoring his instincts, he followed Rapunzel's instructions, and stayed put with Mark and Kovacs.
"Let me write this down for you." Alexis sneered, pressing her face up against the door. "Either you come out here so we can kill you quickly, or you can slowly bleed to death in there. So why don't you save yourselves the pain and suffering and come on out."
"Eat me, bitch!" Kovacs hollered, enraging Alexis.
"OPEN THIS FUCKING DOOR!"
Eugene looked down at Kovacs, seeing his arm was gushing blood like a waterfall.
"Find something to tie that down." Eugene ordered, as he kept his weight pressed against the door. Mark nodded, and after ripping the cord from a coffee grinder in the corner, tied it around Kovacs' arm to cut off the circulation.
"Holy fuck, she fucking sliced me!" Kovacs' eyes widened in fear.
Back in the kitchen, Alexis and Val turned towards Beverly, who was looking at the ground.
"Don't just stand there." Alexis growled. "Go find something to break the door down, Beverly."
"Where?" Beverly asked, holding out her hands in desperation.
"I don't know. Go to the barn outside, there's a bunch of tools and shit in there. Find something!" Alexis shouted. "Go! Don't forget, this is all your fault. Their blood is on your hands too. So just, go."
Beverly opened her mouth to speak, but stopped, staring down at Rapunzel, who was still holding onto her wounded arm.
"What about her?"
Alexis grinned, staring down at the fallen Slayer.
"Tie her up in the basement for now." Alexis shrugged. "We'll kill her when we get the others."
Val nodded in excitement, and moved forward to grab Rapunzel, but Alexis held out her hand to stop her.
"No, I want you to do it Beverly." Alexis ordered. "Prove yourself, that you're not pussy-footing. Then go out to the barn."
Beverly grimaced, but picked Rapunzel up by her shoulders, and led her towards the basement. She looked behind her, seeing Val and Alexis watch her every move, and walked down the darkened stairs, with her hostage in tow.
Once they reached the bottom of the stairs, Beverly led Rapunzel to a chair in a corner, and forced her to sit down.
"I'm sorry." Beverly whispered, finding duct tape nearby and binding the Slayer's wrists to the arms, then proceeded to duct tape her legs to the chair as well. She noticed the wound in her shoulder was still leaking blood, and Beverly tore off a piece of tape and stuck it on top in a makeshift patch.
"Why are you doing this?" Rapunzel asked. "You don't seem to be like them."
"You don't know me." Beverly muttered.
"I know you don't want to go along with this." Rapunzel revealed. "I could see it in your eyes. You don't want this."
"No, but they gave me a family." Beverly murmured, as tears shined in her eyes. "Do you know what that's like? To feel trapped when living with one family, and get taken in by another?"
Rapunzel bit her lip, before nodding.
"I do." Rapunzel revealed. "I was kidnapped when I was a baby, and my kidnapper manipulated me into thinking she was my mother. I didn't know who my real parents were until I was eighteen."
Beverly looked at her sadly, before her gaze hardened.
"Just… shut up. Please." Bev pleaded, before walking back up the stairs. A moment later, Val walked down the stairs, and approached Rapunzel.
"So this is the famous Doom Slayer Alexis mentioned the other day." Val smirked. "You're not so tough now, are you?"
"How did you know I'd be there on the side of the road?" Rapunzel demanded.
"Well, Alexis doesn't share details that much." Val giggled. "She just said she had some help."
Rapunzel narrowed her eyes, and looked up at Val in anger.
"I'm going to stop you." Rapunzel vowed.
"Oh, really?" Val taunted. "Who's the one tied up right now?"
Val grinned, and slapped Rapunzel in the face, hard. The princess of Corona grimaced, spitting out blood. By the time she looked back up, Val was already walking back up the stairs, and slammed the basement door, extinguishing the last bit of light shining in the darkness.
Rapunzel was left alone with her thoughts, and she looked around the darkened room. In hindsight, this was similar to when Gothel kidnapped her, only this time, there was no Doom Slayer coming to save her. Blazkowicz was gone, and her attempt to resurrect him had failed. She thought she had come to terms with that, but thinking about him now proved to be otherwise.
William Blazkowicz was gone. She was the Doom Slayer now. And she had to find a way to escape, and free Eugene.
Beverly walked outside towards the barn, her mind still playing back to what Arianna had said to her.
I know you don't want to go along with this. I could see it in your eyes. You don't want this.
She was right, after all. Beverly didn't actually want this. Even now, she was torn. But Alexis and Val took her in after she ran away from her abusive father. In a way, she felt she needed to repay them.
Beverly entered the barn, flipping on a light switch to see an assortment of tools lying about.
"Okay…" Beverly rubbed her fingers on each side of her head, and tried to think straight. There was a workbench in the middle of the small shop, with varying tools along the floor. Beverly picked up a tennis racket, contemplating using that to break the door down, and looked hopelessly around the room.
"Dammit!"
Eugene kept pressure on the door, while Mark checked on Kovacs.
"Jesus, it's Ruby Tuesday over here." Kovacs whimpered. "I need a tampon-"
"Stop talking." Eugene ordered, trying to keep his voice calm.
"How can you be calm?" Mark asked. "They have your girlfriend!"
"And she'll find a way out of this." Eugene told them, thinking about the adventures the two of them had, even before she became Blazkowicz's successor. "Trust me, she knows what she's doing. The best we can do right now is wait here, and keep them from getting in."
"Boys!" Val's voice echoed from the other side of the door. "Do you wanna have an orgy with us? Alex is very religious, but she will do it on this occasion!"
Eugene squinted his eyes in confusion, as he heard the two girls begin to talk amongst themselves.
"Ooh, is it my birthday?" Val asked. Eugene still looked at the crack in the door in confusion. What were they planning?
His question was soon answered, when a colorless fume seeped through the crack in the door.
"What is that?" Eugene's eyes widened in worry.
"Get away from the door!" Mark shouted, grabbing a chair from the back and putting it under the door handle. The three of them began coughing, and Eugene placed a portion of his shirt over his nose and mouth, in an attempt to quit breathing in whatever the girls were spraying.
"Aw, you want some more?" Val giggled, as they continued spraying under the door.
Mark and Kovacs covered their mouths as well, and Mark quickly found some washcloths and placed them at the cracks, stopping the fumes from getting in.
"Wait! Shit, who is that?"
Eugene frowned, hearing Val speak. Someone else was here? Footsteps were heard, moving away from the door, and Flynn looked back to Mark and Kovacs, who were coughing and spitting on the ground.
"Fuck, it's getting colder." Kovacs moaned.
"No, you're going into shock." Mark explained, as he looked through the pantry and found a bright red can of soda. "You need sugar. Can you drink this?"
Kovacs slowly nodded, taking the soda and drinking from it, while Mark found a black and white plaid blanket and draped it over his friend.
"We never took a look at you." Mark noted, looking back to Eugene.
"I'll be fine." Flynn replied, looking down at his arm. The wound was still bleeding a little bit, but not nearly as much as Kovacs'. Back when he was a thief, he was all about self preservation. Now, he knew which priorities came first.

Back in the basement, Rapunzel kept struggling against her bonds, in a vain attempt to get free. Unfortunately, no matter how hard she tried, the duct tape would not come off, and she could see the edges of her wrists become red and raw.
"No." Rapunzel groaned, dropping her head low. How could she have been so stupid, to be fooled this easily?
The Slayer closed her eyes, and remembered what Blazkowicz last said to her. The full mantra, not the last words.
Listen to me… these demons… they are rage… brutal, without mercy… but you… you will be worse… Rip and tear, until it is done.
Rapunzel opened her eyes, having a moment of clarity. Perhaps Blazkowicz didn't mean demon in just the literal sense. She could quite possibly apply it to the girls here, for their brutality and mercilessness rivalled that of demons from Hell. The only difference was theirs was more calculating, and smarter.
The princess of Corona, and more importantly, the Doom Slayer, gained a newfound sense of purpose, and she began struggling against her bonds again. She would not quit. One way or another, she would get out of here, and stop Alexis and Val.
Beverly watched the car pull up to the house, and she leaned against the barn door, crying into her hands. What were they doing? Sooner or later, they would get caught, and what then? Beverly would get sent to jail, like all the other times. Only this time, it would be worse. In the past, she'd only been arrested for shoplifting and petty theft. Now she'd be in their for murder. God, what was she thinking.
As Beverly kept crying, she still thought back to what Arianna had told her. How she was kidnapped as a baby, and was made to think that her kidnapper was her real mother. Despite her own story being different, Bev felt she could relate to her, and sympathized. Both of them had rough childhoods, and both had to do things they weren't proud of to survive. Well, she assumed Arianna had to take drastic measures, but she wasn't sure.
Maybe it all hinged on tonight. Maybe she was being tested in some way. Beverly didn't know. She just wanted the night to be over.
Eugene kept his hands on the pantry door, while Mark put his shirt back on, and Kovacs finished the last of the soda.
"We gotta get the fuck out of here." Mark decided, taking down three bottles from the cellar. "Flynn, pass me that duct tape."
"What are you doing?" Eugene asked, handing him the roll.
"What, are you doing some McGuyver shit?" Kovacs asked, seeing Mark wrap duct tape around the bottle necks.
"Yeah." Mark chuckled, as he finished taping the bottles together. He gave one to Kovacs, and another to Eugene.
"On three, okay?" Mark suggested, seeing the other two men nod. "One, two, three!"
They all brought the bottles down on the ground, shattering them in half and creating sharp weapons from the pieces.
"Shit, move the shards!" Mark exclaimed, taking one of the washcloths and safely moving the broken pieces of glass into a corner. A few moments later, they all heard a high pitched scream in the house. Eugene frowned, realizing it didn't sound to be coming from any of the girls they met tonight. Who else was here?
"Holy shit!" Val's voice faintly sounded through the door. "You just fucking killed your step mom, Alex!"
Eugene's eyes widened slightly. Her stepmother was here?
"Stick to what plan, Alex? She called the fucking cops!" Val's voice spoke again, this time a little bit louder, and more hysteric.
"Val, Val, are you with me-"
"Yes, I'm fucking with you!"
"Everything's going to be fine!" Alexis could be heard yelling. Eugene wore a grim expression, and turned back to Mark and Kovacs.
"Sounds like someone called the cops." Mark said, seeing Eugene nod. The cops sounded like they were this time period's version of royal guards, in which case they'd be saved. And even if the cops weren't coming, Rapunzel said her strength would only be gone for six hours. All they had to do was wait now.
Rapunzel continued rubbing her duct taped wrist against the chair's arm, until she heard a small tear. She looked down, seeing a tiny rip in the tape, and pulled back, completely freeing her left arm. Rapunzel grinned, and reached over to her right arm, pulling off the duct tape there, and reached down to rip the tape off her ankles.
Beverly continued walking around the barn, until she tossed the tennis racket onto a large piece of equipment that was covered by a tarp. Confused, Beverly lifted the tarp, revealing that the contraption was a boat, with it's motor laying inside. Next to the motor was a thick leather folder, bound with string. Bev quickly snatched the folder, opening it to reveal newspaper clippings reporting on satanic murders throughout the country. The same Satanic murders that she, Alexis, and Val were taking part of right now.
Beverly's eyes widened, digging deeper into the folder to find photos of expensive estates, and the transfer certificates that accompanied them. Bev humorlessly laughed, realizing that's how Alexis chose this house. It was just another place her father owned.
The brunette's eyes trailed back towards the boat, setting the folder back inside. Her gaze landed on a green toolbox, and upon opening it, she found stacks upon stacks of cash.
A chill ran down Beverly's spine, and her mouth hung open in shock. Suddenly, everything made sense. Alexis' congregation murdering metalheads. Her father condemning the satanic cult on television. Asking the people for donations.
Taking a deep breath, Beverly picked up the boat motor, and made her way out of the barn. She had to end this, once and for all.
