Fargo anemic and trapped

So I just watched the episode where all the metal goes flying, and Henry tells them that Fargo "is actually quite anemic", so I really wanted to use that. I did some research on it but it was confusing to be honest so I might be overdramatisizing it a lot.

I dont own Eureka or any if its characters.

Hurt/Comfort. Friendship. Rated K.

Enjoy(:

As Carter woke up to the sun on his face coming through the curtains his PDA started to buzz.

He picked it up, "Carter here".

"Morning sherriff, Fargo here. Got a bit of a problem here, can you come to my lab at G.D.?".

Jack rolled his eyes and hung up the phone. It was going to be one of those days he thought.

Jack walked down the hall in section 2.

He approached Fargos lab, "Fargo what button did you push this time!?"

He said about to walk in when Fargo yelled, "Wait! Sherriff careful. Theres a forcefeild covering the walls and doorway and the ceiling and the floor. So the whole room. Its a forcefield built to protect buildings from earthquakes or intruders. And did I mention the device is broken and im stuck in here?".

"Fargo!", Carter yelled in frustration.

"What it wasnt my fault, seriously! I dont know what happened. I think the link between the 2 interconnected servers went haywire. I went to try and work on the main service panel but its completely fried.".

"Ok, ok. I'll call Allison and Zane down here and Henry to see if they can come up with something. Just dont mess anything else up ok?", Carter said as he walked away.

"Oh come on!". Fargo yelled.

"I know I'll be out of here soon", Fargo said out loud to himself. "We always come up with a solution. I'll be out of here in time for lunch.", he said continuing to work on the broken technology.

15 minutes later everyone was making their way down to the lab Fargo was in.

"Oh hey guys.", Fargo said with a smile.

"Hi Fargo, so have you figured out what made the forcefield go haywire?", Allison said sweetly with a smile to Fargo who was still working on the forcefeild device.

"As far as I can tell, the test should have worked perfectly. For some reason the curcuits in the mainframe didnt hook up to the impulse drive quick enough. Now basically the "on/off" is completely inoperative.", said Fargo.

"Ok, Henry and I will try to find a backdoor.", said Zane.

Fargo worked with them for hours on end. They tried everything. Eventually they tried just getting through the forcefield with more destructive methods. They used lasers, a jackhammer, they even tried using C4. Nothing worked.

"Is Fargo in any danger?", Carter asked in a whisper.

"Well the only thing the forcefield will let in is oxygen so thats good. But none of these methods are working and he could starve or die of thirst before we figure out how to get in.", Zane said.

"Im worried about him missing his iron supplements. He's anemic and if he doesnt get iron in his blood to help produce more blood cells hes going to become very weak. On top of not getting any food or water, lets just try and get through that forcefield.", Henry chimed in.

Fargo started to get worried, trying not to think of the worst. They worked through the night but Fargo ended up falling asleep, so they decided to get a little rest to.

The next day they asked scientists throughout G.D., they tried new technology and Fargo worked with Henry and Zane trying everything they could with the device. It had now been 62 hours and Fargo was drained. He got barely any sleep and was exhausted.

"Well it looks like im gonna die in here guys. It was nice knowing you all.", Fargo said trying to kind of lighten the mood and cover up his real fear.

"Come on Fargo dont think like that, we just have to keep trying.", Zane said in response.

"Fargo youre gonna be fine, I wont let anything happen to you", Allison said with a comforting smile.

"Youre right I know. Lets try restarting the power couplings in the mainframe again, we might get lucky ya know. Its worth a shot.".Sparks flew indicating the failure of that attempt.

"COME ON!", Henry yelled frustrated as he threw the tool he was using to the ground.

He wasnt the only one frustrated. They were all worried that they would never find a solution. Carter ran his hands over his face trying not to give up hope.

Hours went by and the smartest minds in the world were out of ideas. It was the morning of the fourth day. Fargo was leaned against the wall. He looked exhausted even in his sleep. The others were already up.

"He looks awful. He's to pale.", said Henry with a hint of worry in his voice.

"Fargos type of anemia is serious. He needs new blood cells soon or hes going to get worse. Because his body isnt getting food or water, his organs could start to shut down.".

"I wish we could at least get some food or water in there. He really looks weak.", Allison said with sympathy and concern.

"Fargo...FARGO", Jack yelled.

"What im up, im up.", Fargo said unsuccesfully wiping the tired from his eyes.

"You dont look so good, how ya feelin?", asked Jack.

"Fine. Really I feel great.".

The others looked at each other unconvinced.

"That wasn't very convincing was it.", said Fargo with a sigh. He ran a hand down his face with a sigh. "Honestly, im exhausted and past starving. I don't even know what to try next. I am out of ideas.".

They couldnt help but feel it was hopeless. They had tried everything they could think of and Fargo didnt have any strength left. His whole body looked limp. His face was pale and his eyes were weary.

A couple hours passed. Fargo had passed out due to exhaustion while tinkering with the device. He woke up a little later to a concerned group of faces.

"I think I have an idea.", Fargo said with as much enthusiasm as he could muster.

"Great! What is it?", Zane said eagerly.

"What if we tried rerouting the curcuits to the antimatter drive. That way the system might reboot and we can try and shut it down.", Fargo said with hope.

"Fargo thats genius!", Henry said with a huge grin.

"Lets give it a shot", Fargo said as he got to work with strength he didnt have.

After a few minutes the forcefeild began to flicker.

"The main couplings will only connect for a few seconds at a time so im going to have to jump through when I have a chance.", Fargo told the others.

"You can do it Fargo", said Allison.

As it continued to flicker Fargo used a nearby table to help himself up. The others watched with hope.

He struggled slowly to make his way to the door.

He leaned against the doorway closing his eyes for a second and taking breath.

"Come on Fargo. You can do it.", Carter said.

Fargo smiled weakly. "Thanks."

He watched the section of the forcefield that covered the doorway, timing it with his eyes. He grabbed the doorway and quickly pulled himself through.

Jack grabbed his arm in case he fell. He took another breath still leaning a little on the sheriff.

Allison hugged Fargo. He hugged back happy to be out of there.

Henry and Zane smiled wide before remembering that Fargo needed to get to the infirmary and quickly. Suddenly Fargo grabbed his heart in pain.

"Come on we have to get you to the infirmary quick!" Henry said putting one of Fargos arms over his shoulders with Carter doing the same with his other arm.

They were about 30 seconds away from the infirmary when Fargo felt his knees buckling under him and his vision fade to black.

Jack picked him up quickly and ran in putting him on one of the beds.

Allison had called ahead and the medics were prepared. They quickly examined him in a matter of seconds.

"We need a crash cart now! His heart is failing I need to cc's of anticortisine stat!", said the lead doctor on staff.

His friends all just stood back shocked.

"We were so close. I mean we got him out, if we had only been a couple minutes faster.", Zane said rubbing his hands through his hair.

Henry put a hand on his shoulder, "I should have thought of that solution. Why didnt I think of it?".

They all blamed themselves.

"We have a steady rythym!", yelled a nurse.

A few minutes passed when a doctor went to brief the group.

"Dont worry hes stable. His heart wasnt getting enough blood. And without his body getting any food or water for far to long he was just to weak and his heart couldnt hold out. Its good you got to him when you did. I think if you all hadnt been there helping him as much as you did, he would've given up. He might not be alive if it werent for you four. Most people wouldn't have survived. You all gave him strength and hope, your good friends, you can relax now.".

The doctors words were a big relief to the group. Though they didnt know if they could rest easy until Fargo was completely out of the woods.

"I think im gonna wait here till he wakes up", said Henry.

"Me to.", said Allison then Jack and even Zane.

Before they knew it they were all fast asleep in chairs that lined his bed. Allison held his hand tightly.

They all woke up at around 6:30 in the morning. Fargo was yet to wake up.

"I think we should go home and get some rest. He might not wake up for a while.", Allison suggested.

The others agreed. Later that day they were all back at Global. It was mid day. They had all checked on Fargo throughout the day but there had been no change. They all gathered in Allisons office for a meeting about a problem with some security system schematics when Carter looked over to see Fargo in just his dress shirt linking arms with a nurse for support, walking through G.D.

"Hey look its Fargo! I guess hes awake." Carter said as they all headed down to where he was.

"Fargo! Good to see you on your feet.", Henry said with his classic grin.

Fargo softly smiled. His eyes showed how weak his body felt.

"Yea thanks to you guys, all of you".

"Well not really, I mean you were the one who figured out how to get through the forcefield.", Zane said as he felt a pang of sympathy because of Fargos drained appearence.

"Yea but you never stopped trying and I wouldnt have come up with that solution without you so thanks. I cant wait to just go home and eat an entire pizza.", Fargo said with a laugh that turned into a cough.

"Hey I think that sounds pretty good, would you mind some company?", asked Carter.

"Ok but youre getting your own pizza.", said Fargo.

Allison, Zane, and Henry invited themselves along, which Fargo didnt mind at all. He was grateful for his friends.

That night they talked and laughed while they ate pizza and played boardgames. He may have almost died, but Fargo was grateful for that day. Surrounded by his friends, who he now knew would always stay by his side.
