TenderED
A love story between Double D and Sarah.
[Ding-dong!]
Went the sound of the doorbell of the Witkowski residence on a late summer evening. It was just after five when Double Dee pulled his finger away from the glowing white doorbell. He quickly adjusted some of the teaching instruments in his bag and then assessed his clothing to make sure he looked adequate. Internal nervousness caused his limbs to shake as he waited for the door to open.
Eddward hadn't been expecting the sticky note his mother left for him on the fridge when he got home from school today. Never in his wildest dreams did he imagine that Mrs. Witkowski, Ed's mom, would want him of all people to tutor Sarah in his favorite subject. Science.
"Oh, hiya Double Dee! What are you doing here?" Ed greeted with his usual retarded smile. One of his eyes rolled off to the side lazily. Some of Double Dee's nervousness fell away at the sight of Ed's dumb face.
"Good evening Ed, I've come to tutor Sarah. Are your parents home by chance?" Ed's unibrow buckled slightly over his too-close eyes as he processed what Double D had just said.
"Oh, that's right! Mom mentioned that earlier! Uh, no, they are out on a date. Sarah! Double D's here to tutor you!" The big lummox shouted over his shoulder, obnoxiously.
"Uh, no need to raise your voice, Ed," Double Dee mentioned, eyes wide. His cheeks flushed brightly with embarrassment.
"You don't have to shout, idiot! I can hear you just fine!" Came a voice from inside the house.
"There she is, my adorable baby sister," Ed revealed, looking back into the house. Double Dee's eyes moved past the tall giant toward the angel standing in the hall.
Sarah looked at her brother with an unamused expression. Double Dee's eyes roamed shamelessly over the girl's half-dressed body. She wore an oversized pink sweater that hung off of her right shoulder, exposing the turquoise strap of her bra. She wore her ginger hair piled on her head in a sloppy bun.
"Now Sarah, don't forget to brush your teeth before bed!" Ed said mindfully. "Shut up, doofus!" Sarah blushed furiously. Ed grinned lovingly at his adorable little sister's angry expression.
"Welp," said Ed as he strolled past Double D," See you guys later!" Edd turned around with a worried expression.
"Um, Ed? Might I know where it is you think you're going?" Double D gasped, his shaking hands clutched Ed's dirty green jersey.
"Attack of the Zarkonian Zombie Werewolves is playing tonight! It's a two-hour long movie! Eddy n' me are gonna see it!" Double Dee paled at those words. "B-But Ed if you leave, it will be just S-Sarah and m-me!" Edd stuttered grasping the sides of his black hat.
"Don't worry, Sarah is safe in your hands. Just don't give her any sugar. " Ed beamed as he pats Double D on the shoulder. "Oh, why I'm flattered, but I don't think that's appropriate. She's only-"
Off in the distance Double D heard Eddy's voice. "Move it, Monobrow! If we don't get there early, someone else will take my special seat!"
"Special seat! Oh, uh I must go! See ya, Double Dee!" The big goof grinned as he took off down the sidewalk with his usual awkward run.
"Goodbye," Edd squeaked forlornly.
To be continued.
